I brought back some Alpine rain pants that happen to be too small they seemed fine when I bought them, but once I went to put them on to ride with all my gear they where too tight, i also removed tags before hand thinking they where it. These guys were amazing! So friendly and helpful! Was there on Wednesday, 3/22/23 just pickup a really expensive transition screen/visor for my new helmet. The nice gentleman put on latex gloves to apply the pinlock and install my new screen. Some fiber was trapped in my pinlock and he redid it without any hesitation. Top notch service! This is a shop that I've been frequenting off and on for years. It's a small motorcycle shop that sells all sorts of gear and motorcycle parts but it's part of a chain. This is 1 of 5 locations in the state. There are many locations throughout the nation. This particular shop is a bit cramped inside but they have a variety of items for your needs from gear to motorcycle parts, etc. The staff here are very helpful and quite informative. I have always received wonderful customer support. I purchased some riding rain gear recently for my Sweetie and I during my lunch break. One of their staff members immediately greeted me as I walked in. I mentioned what I needed and he was on top of it. He showed me what they had available in stock and I quickly made my choice. The person helping me even assisted me as I tried on the rain gear. Unfortunately, they didn't have much rain gear for women so I chose a smaller size in the men's. I guess My Sweetie and I can look cute on the road in pouring rain with matching outfits. HA! I was in and out in no time at all. I even had time to peruse their stock of helmets. Fist let me say the ABSOLUTE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have had in a very long time. From the minute we walked in Derrick was there and hands on with my 10yr old son who was shopping for his first quad helmet. Not only did he know his gear, he stayed with us the entire time with focus on my son. Taught and showed him how to put on and take off his helmet. How it should feel, how it should sit on your head. what parts of your face should be covered and where you want your eyes. Showing him how to buckle and unbuckle. Took time to focus on his eye sight as he wears glasses. (gave us the idea of safety glasses) as he is both far and near since we got goggles too. Taking the time to show how to properly put your goggles on and how they should feel. Even down to how gloves should fit. As a mom of two older girly girls and don't know anything of this world..... yet. This was the best learning experience we could have asked for. I will recommend this store to anyone who is looking!!! read more

Good customers service if you call the store...but lousy if you go in person. Oh well they lost a bunch of sales for my kids and I. While fitting a helmet for my daughter the phone rang. Salesman answered and walked away helping the caller. He didn't even return to us when he was done. The sad part is we had just discussed how important a "hand shake" is. In the business world. As well as, customer service; from both sides. The customer keeps the business open by shopping at that establishment. Thus maintaining employment and the ability to obtain the needed item again in the future. However, the customer must recognize the business (employees) need to make a living. I've noticed that this store is much smaller than the Tacoma store, but the store manager is GREAT! I was there actually asking for donations for a fundraiser that I was throwing for a woman that was intentionally hit and run. Once I showed the manager the news clip, he was definitely in. So he put some stuff for me together and told me when it would be ready. He actually gave great donations. As for their selection, I did look through what they had, since I was sort of in the market for a mesh jacket and they had some Alpinestars that would fit me. However, I don't like any armor that is not the hard composite plastic. I got spoiled at the San Jose, CA store (they had one pair of Dainese pants on sale and one women's jacket (so I actually have a two piece suit that is track legal). I know that I did ask an employee about an adjustable clutch for my husband's bike, but there wasn't any, unfortunately. I did buy some things I needed for maintenance for my bike. They're bike nights are different than the Tacoma store as well. I think it was a good turn out for a small store. I definitely had fun! And met up with some people from PNWRiders forum, which I'm a member of, so it was cool to chat w/people that I hadn't seen in a long time. read more

I keep forgetting to check in here - but I'm here way too often. I usually stop by just to kill time after a lunch break considering I work right down the street. The staff is always utmost helpful and friendly. If they don't have it they will help you find it. They are straight forward and pretty knowledgeable when it comes to bikes and products. They have a decent selection of rider gear and motorcycle parts/accessories. And what they don't have you can order online and if it doesn't work out you can return it at any store without a restocking fee. Great place! This place is a train wreck. The store is totally disorganized, dirty, and completely picked through. Went there to check out dirt bike helmets and their selection (both brands and models) and is so basic and uninteresting. As a business who claims to value customer service, I won't be visiting this location, let alone consider buying anything from Cycle Gear again. I went in to buy a Bluetooth headset for my helmet. Customer service was great. Brought it back less than a month later to return it because it did not meet my expectations (sound was too quiet, voice commands unresponsive 50% of the time), and was bluntly told by a lady: "I'm not taking that back. I can't sell it. Go sell it on marketplace. Sorry." Rude. Unprofessional. Plenty of other businesses take back used electronics, or at least offer an alternative like store credit to find something that does work for the customer. Well, they didn't. Called in asking how long tires would take to mount and balance (told him model and year of bike), needed tires for a ride tomorrow. Guy said he had to leave by 2 pm so they'd be done by then (guy was very polite and helpful), there was only one set ahead of me. Made it into the store in 15 minutes 1045am. Returned to store at 3pm to find out the tires haven't even been touched and the guy had left. The worker told me he wouldn't have promised that and he did in fact leave at 2pm. Told me he would have them done by the end of the day 6pm (was very rude and condescending). At 545pm, they told me the tires are on but they couldn't get them balanced. Wouldn't refund or take tires off because they are already mounted. Wouldn't return wheels back until they are paid. Told me to take them to Firestone to get balanced. Pretty much received unusable and unsafe tires. Was unable to make the ride the next day, Firestone also doesn't balance motorcycle tires when i called them. I now have to take the tires somewhere else to get them properly balanced. Not sure how it can take 7 hours to mount 2 sets of tires. read more

I'd heard a lot about how great this place was for gear, so maybe that's part of my disappointment, so I suppose you might want to take this review with a grain of salt...and maybe it is a good spot to go if you're in the market for tires...however, my girlfriend and I were looking to check out some pants for her, and, after checking the cyclegear website, we were expecting a large selection of various brands for her to check out. We drove down from Seattle to give it a look, and it was a waste of time. The vast majority of the gear was their own Bilt brand, the selection for women was small, and they didn't have much gear of the major brands we were expecting. The staff seemed nice, so no issues there, just a disappointment in the selection, especially relative to all the stuff on their website. read more

Been in a couple times now to buy gear and it's damn near impossible to get someone to help me. My husband always gets approached. They offer to look up helmets costs, ask him if he has any questions, etc. Meanwhile, I'm down the aisle trying on just as many helmets and jackets but don't get approached. I literally just left after my husband and I came there to finally buy me a new helmet. I just had a couple questions about fit (since they don't stock the helmet I really want) but I couldn't even get a hello. Apparently, my lack of a penis means that I'm just there because husband dragged me. The csr was too busy chatting my husband up on how he should drop $300 on a new helmet and how "awesome" the color choices are. Thanks a lot, Cycle Gear. read more

Nice folks. I was in the market for a new Shoei helmet and they told me that if I waited a few days, they were having a corporate 10% off sale. Saved $50. The staff really make this place great - very helpful and knowledgeable. Went in to get a helmet, and they have a 7 (I think it's 7) day try out period. Well, the helmet I got didn't really work for me after riding with it for about 100 miles, so I came in and a couple of the ladies who work there helped me try out different helmets and tested for fit. If you want a tire swapped, and you don't mind waiting 6 months, they're great. Otherwise, go anywhere else. They'll tell you they can do it same day or early the next day, then a week later still won't have it done. At least the Tacoma location will be honest with you. read more

Anyway they didn't have the size I needed ( a very common size) so I ended up buying a tire online and another shop charged me $28 to mount/balance it. Worst customer service! This is the second time we have had an issue with the manager at this store. This time we had called ahead looking for riding boots for my son. They were sold out of his size in store and online but said they had one left in his size in the last years model on clearance. So we drove down there to get them. Well, they wouldn't honor the price quoted on the phone and then refused to sell us any boots at all. Last time I will step foot in this shop, just another shop to lose business to Amazon. read more

I went in for a new rear tire, the one I needed wasn't in stock(which is fine). I was told by a worker that I could order it online & leave the rim there as long as they had my contact information. I gave them that & that night ordered a tire(ship to store). The next day I was called & told I needed to come back to pick up my rim, because it was gonna take a week for cycle gear ONLINE to ship to their store. This turned my 2 trip ordeal(drop off wheel+pick up wheel), into 4 trips(drop off+pick up+drop off when tire came in+pick up after). If I was told outright that I would have to order it & come back I would have been fine, but really feel like my time was wasted. I ended up picking up my rim & cancelling my tire order. I'd rather lose more time & even pay more going to a shop that will lay everything correct from the start & not waste my time. read more

Two were busy trying to find parts that were not ordered correctly for a gentleman and the third sales person decided to check the mail and comment about what might be in each piece.
