Most of these on display are used, the new ones are coming back from a night partying all night." Another salesperson muttered something about some of the helmets may have vomit in them. Good location to pick up some riding gear. They cover a little bit of everything from clothing and helmets to products you need for a little bike maintenance. Sign up for the mailing list and get some specials in the mail with the catalog. The customer service is where they shine. They came through for me when I had an issue with my jacket. They actually replaced the jacket and I'd been wearing it for quite a while. Most of the items are priced like you'd find at the dealer, but they always seem to have specials and clearance deals going on so look around. Its nice that you can try different helmets on. You should never buy a helmet without trying it for fit and feel. All makes and models fit differently. A large from one brand may not fit you like a large from another. read more

Been here twice...haven't bought anything. Here's the good and bad of why... THE GOOD: - Super easy to find off PCH - Good parking - Friendly and VERY attentive sales staff...these guys are super nice - Store is clean, bright, and fully stocked. Plenty of areas to try stuff on THE BAD (or not so good): - They really promote some lower end brands. Not sure why they have so much of the entry-level or Chinese made stuff. Sport, Street, and Dirt riders all want good stuff, stuff that will hold up, and gear that will function as well as fit our "look." - The cheap stuff is really cheap, I'll give them the prices on that end are fair. But in visiting about 4 cycle and moto sport stores recently looking for the perfect summer jacket and gloves, I think after Del Amo Motorsports (who's prices are way high), Cycle Gear has some high prices on the "better" gear. NOTE: the sales guy was very open with me and said the prices have some room to work...he was more than willing to deal to make a sale, and I totally appreciated his gusto, I just was not sold on the two jackets I "liked." In making a $200-$300 riding jacket purchase, I really want it to fit my look and function as a team with my bike and I....there's nothing like going out for a 5 hour coastal ride and having your gear not fit and feeling uncomfy... That's really all I have right now...still sweating in the leather because I haven't found a seasonal protective jacket since moving to LA...the search continues. The ride never ends. I never experienced such great service from a sales associate from any retailers. They helped me look at helmets and after some time I explained I'm not a rider I'm shopping for my actors on a tv show. Now mind you wherever I say that I don't get much more help. I love Cycle Gear. I especially appreciate excellent customer service and when merchandise is clearly marked or labeled and either on sale, or discounted for industry professional (MSF Instructors). I was looking for inexpensive gear for when I'm teaching on the range and I opted for "Bilt" or the current house brand. I got out of there with a helmet (comes with a free visor, tinted or clear) and two pairs of gloves for less than a $100. Prices are what they are and for just riding around the range when teaching - I'm okay. However, what really blew me away was the customer service. The associates came out from behind the counter, looked for sizes for me - asked me questions and even made sure that the register staff was aware of my industry discount as opposed to having to go thru the explanation again. Being the closest Cycle Gear to where I moved to - I appreciate how they shared information with me as far as other shops for repairs and or sales and that it's not too far from the house. Parking (car) looks like it could be tight as the lot looks cramped however, at the time I made it there, lots of space. But again - when you're on a bike, the world is your parking lot. read more

Always a great experience at Cycle Gear! Is so nice to have a local shop that has the parts and service to keep my son and I rolling! They have consistently saved us from missing a good time at the track and trails by having what I need in stock or available quickly. Although everyone there is fantastic, Anthony deserves a shout out. He's extremely professional, personable and thorough. He's the best at tire changing I've experienced in my 30+ years of riding. I have to say how incredibly nice and patient ALL of the staff here at the Lomita location are!!! The first time in a long time that I went in there for a new helmet, a sales girl named Ally, just went above and beyond to find me the best helmet, and not only that, told me that they were having a fantastic sale on the Arai Helmets, and long story short, I got a display one for 45% off the MSRP!!! That's like unheard of!!! She was absolutely lovely and so very helpful!!! Then today, I went in to trade in some gloves, but wanted a few more things too, and the nicest fellow by the name of Nick, was just so very willing to take his time to make sure that I got into the right stuff, like new gloves, and shoes, and also an open face style helmet, but more like a Harley rider style helmet. And he didn't pressure me in any way at all about hurrying up with my indecisiveness, but really wanted me to try out different types and he didn't start with the most expensive, but he could just access my style and what I was saying, and he put me in all the things that I might not have thought of, but his keen eye and knowledge about customer service, led me to getting things that I'm very happy with!!! Nick's customer service was one of the nicest customer service I've ever experienced!!! I hope that someone in corporate reads this, and really truly praises the exceptional customer service here at the Lomita, CA location!!! I've purchased quite a bit of gear here including armor, helmets and gloves for both of my kids, gloves and boots for my wife as well as boots, rain pants, rain coat and waterproof gloves for me. And I've purchased a stand for my bike as well as supplies for oil changes and chain maintenance. The previous reviews stating there is an abundance of Bilt and Sedici is true, but that's to be expected since those are exclusive brands to Cycle Gear and probably where they make the most profit on sales. I found the sales staff to be very welcoming and helpful even when I'm just looking for oil and a filter, the sales person will come up and ask if I need help and what I ride. Then when I get to the counter, he's go an oil filter waiting for me! I did have some issues with my Bilt and Sedici rain gear leaking which required me to exchange them a couple times, but each time the staff was friendly and the exchange was painless. Cycle Gear as a company has been amazing at helping me with these issues of leaky gear. Ryan in customer service, who I think secretly runs the company because no matter what number I push when calling, I get Ryan, if I email, I get Ryan. And this isn't a bad thing! Ryan is super helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I also talked to the Regional Manager and he was very helpful. The moral is that every person I've interacted with at Cycle Gear is helpful and friendly. I'm going back there when I need new summer gear! read more

By far the worst Cycle Gear I've been to. I've been to this location, Fullerton, and Huntington Beach and I will never ever come back to the Lomita location. So it was December 14th at around 11am - 12pm and my boyfriend and I were coming in from the Huntington Beach location to check out a helmet that they had in stock for my size. When we got there, we did not feel welcomed. The entire time that we were there, they gave us an attitude and for this reason, I did not purchase the helmet that I was initially planning to buy because they made me feel uncomfortable. Furthermore, as I was putting my gear on, I heard the two staff talking about my boyfriend and I. Like seriously? Are you seriously talking about customers behind their backs while they're still in the store AND in a distance where they can hear every single word you're saying? They're so incredibly rude and they just lost two customers that day. read more

This isn't a bad place to go for motorcycle stuff if you really need it soon. They have tires, helmets, leathers, gloves, boots, lubricants, cleaners, rear stands, and some cool t-shirts. Their prices aren't too bad but they do have sales every now and then they'll get you a small discount. I had one semi-bad experience before at this location a few months ago. I called in and asked if they would price match a tire that another store didn't have in stock and said yes, but when I got there, the lady at the counter made a big fuss about it. and was trying to make excuses. She finally called that competitor to verify the price and then gave me the discount after several minutes on the phone. If I didn't call before hand to make sure they price matched, I really wouldn't have cared and would have paid their price, you know? But they said they would so why should I not want a lower price? But most of my other experiences were pretty good. The guys and girls at the counter can be friendly and helpful when you're not sure which part number to get. They'll flip through their catalogs to help double check and stuff, which is nice. If they don't have something in stock, they'll also offer to place an order for you. Like I said, if you really need something asap or don't like shopping online for cheaper prices, you can hit up Cycle Gear in Lomita. Personally, I use Cycle Gear as a last resort cuz I like going to Bert's Mega Mall or shopping online instead. read more

This is the place to go if I am buying any motorcycle stuff. They open 7 days not like other motorcycle shops. It's super easy to find on PCH. The sales are always nice. You don't feel ignored nor pushed. Today, I bought gloves and boots. I visited Cyclegear to find short cuff gloves I could wear under my alpinestars leather jacket'. The jacket's sleeve with zipper and velcro completely closed is quite tight. It's almost impossible to determine this kind of fitness through online. Thanks for the wide range of selection in this shop to try. For the boots, I knew there was a promotion before. So I asked the sales person if they have a plan to do it again. The sales manager offered immediate 20% discount. I know the boots have been in stock quite long. Maybe that was the reason, but I love their flexibility on price instead of sticking at originally marked one. I ended up with making a unplanned impulse purchase.
