When I got my bike over a year ago I was a little intimidated going in there for the first time, , not knowing much about bikes - but within about 10 minutes I felt like a long time customer. When I walk in most of them know me by name, and I'm never afraid to ask my stupid questions (at least they never make me feel like they are stupid!) Sure this is a smaller store, but I have always been able to get what I wanted, in the right color/size within 1 to 2 days! I recently bought a new helmet and didn't get a chance to try it out within their 7 day return policy due to bad weather, and I wasn't sure I'd like it. I was told to try it for a few days and if I didn't like it - not to worry about the 7 days having already passed - that they would take care of me. I really like the helmet but it was nice to know that I wasn't going to get stuck with a helmet I didn't like. As a matter of fact - I'm headed there now to exchange a face shield for that helmet - I got the wrong one. I have no clue where the receipt is - but I don't need it - they'll just look it up in their computer and I'm good! read more

This store is hit or miss when it comes to customer service. However there are exceptions, some of the guys in the back and the older hippie guy, sorry buddy i forgot your name, are very helpful and knowledgeable. The Front counter people however seemed burned out. Theres one employee in particular, Jessica whom i have never had good experiences with. She makes this location a 2 star store in my opinion. Save the Facebook for break time. I had to wait for her to update her status before she would ring me up at the counter. After she finally got around to ringing me up. She got right back on her phone. I think a kiosk job at the mall would be more her style. read more

I've been going to this store for about a year now. I don't ride but my boyfriend does and this is one of the only motorcycle stores that carry the things we need so we come here often. Now I work in customer service and I know people make mistakes sometimes. But literally the last 5 times we've gone here there have been mistakes made. This last time did it for me, we asked about getting a front tire for a Yamaha R6 gave the guy all the info to get the RIGHT tire. We get to a repair shop down the street and pay for the labor. Then we realize the guy gave us the wrong tire! It's a whole 10mm difference the bike couldn't even move. So then I run back to CG to get the right one. Now I have to pay labor again to get the right size tire put on. Now I'm not one to complain but this is the 2nd time we've had an issue with receiving the wrong tires. This one today, and another time about 5 months ago. Honestly go in to CG with your homework done. These people don't know anything about bikes. They hire these random people and don't teach them anything. I don't even care if they ride or not, at least teach the employees about the product and about what they are selling. Today CG lost two loyal customers. We definitely are going to find another place that won't have me running back and forth with the wrong shit. read more

Cycle Gear - Always on one - Auto Parts & Supplies Near Me - Pacheco, California

I've bought a total of three helmets from Cycle Gear (two from this branch), and I would actually recommend the store for that one item, because I found a better than decent selection of quality brands (Shoei and Arai) in addition to budget stuff, and they have a great exchange policy if you bring it back promptly in new condition. But am giving it only two stars because of the low quality of the rest of the riding gear. That's the big ongoing expense for me over the years, and when I have to replace a jacket or pants I want to be able to try on my size in different decent-quality lines. Although they have a sprinkling of Dainese, the big majority of what they carry in clothing seems like mediocre to crap, and even with that sizes seem very incomplete. Store had the vibe that they aimed for low end and hit their target. Of course there AREN'T competing motorcycle specialty stores, and that makes it especially frustrating that, with the buying power of 97 stores, CG doesn't make more of an effort. I end up riding all the way to San Jose to shop at Road Rider. Nothing against the staff, who have seemed friendly every time I go back for another try, and nothing special against this branch - it's just the close one to me. But I wouldn't recommend it, for example, to a new rider wanting to outfit themselves. read more

I am surprised by all the really good reviews for the tire changing shop at this location because what i experienced was far worse. 2 weeks ago i dropped off a sport bike rear tire at 2pm on a Thursday and it was not done until Saturday afternoon, this is an incredible long amount of time. The i brought a front wheel in at the end of Thursday and they said it would be done before lunch on Friday, then i received a call saying it wouldnt be done until Tuesday since their tire machine is broken. Came in on a weekday to get Heat Out shirt and pants for my boyfriends up coming track day. I had no idea where they were. The place was a good size and very neat but the merchandise was very foreign to me. I asked a guy in the back where they were and he directed me to the front. Still couldn't find them. Another guy came up to me then and helped me find the items which were right in front of me. And they were 50% off!! They were all very nice and helpful. Here I am in Concord, looking for a Harley Davidson shop...again. Surprisingly enough, I came across this Cycle Gear! (I did find the HD but they were closed due to Memorial Day.) I passed Cycle Gear earlier so I thought I poke my head in and look around...and see if I could p/u a new helmet for the wifey. This is one of the best stores I have been in thus far! Today was unusually busy but that did not affect the excellent customer service given by Mike and Joshua. Mike was great with assisting our helmet purchase and even Joshua was very helpful! As I mentioned before, it was busy but they both did not miss a beat with helping me out. The store looks like any other Cycle Gear, just a bit bigger. Clean and kept together. All the guys really know what they're talking about, and are happy to go out of their way to help you out. Plus, the inventory is great, the prices are competitive, and the location is convenient and easy to find. Both managers Rob and Jan are particularly helpful; they ride all the time and take personal stock in selling you what works for your style of riding. I went into the shop to have my communication device installed on my helmet. While I was there I decided to purchase a new jacket for the cold days since my current jacket is for summer. I tried on a few jackets but they didn't seem to fit. Erica noticed that I was having a bit of trouble and recommended the perfect jacket. She was extremely helpful in helping me find something that not only fit but was very flattering. She made sure that my jacket was ready to be equipped with safety gear and even recommended and installed back armor so I was ready to go. By the time I was done shopping my helmet was ready, the cena I purchased was installed by Carlos, who was extremely professional and filled with knowledge of all kinds of motorcycle related topics. Long overdue review. Been coming here a long time for many different purchases/questions. The manager is excellent and is always welcoming which I appreciate. Should have thanked her a long time ago! A year ago or maybe longer I purchased a communication device, not the usual Senna but one called UClear HBC 200. I was very happy with it but have sinced changed helmets and needed to have them installed again. I have some dexterity issues so called in and 'Josh' said, no problem, and just come in. Josh reinstalled the UClear in not one, but two helmets and did it with a smile. That's the kind of thing that builds customer loyalty! Thank you so much Josh and well done Cycle Gear! read more

I walk in, was greeted. Went to look for a specific Shoei helmet I was planing on buying. I found it on the shelf in the color I was not looking for. And did not any of the specific helmet in the boxes they keep in the store. I went to the guy at the counter Me: Hi, Do you guys keep any helmets in the back, because I did not see the one I'm looking for up here. I showed him the helmet I want but in a different color and size Employee: pretty much everything we have it up here. But if you would like I can check. Me: ok thanks 5mins later Employee: Yeah looks like we don't have that helmet. Me: oh ok. Employee stares at me blankly Me: Is it possible if you can see other stores inventory to see if they have it in stock? Employee: That would be cool if another store has it and you can get it. I stare at him blankly. Turns out only Store was in Sac that has it. I ended up buying it on line at helmet city for 30 dollars less. Other times I've been to this store certain employees are either very pushy to buy any product. Apparently anything I have intrest in is a great choice. And certain employees don't really offer me help at all until I show intrest in buying something. Some don't even help me at all till I start walking towards the. Counter with something in my hand to buy then they're all of a sudden willing to offer customer service to me and answer any questions I have. I also bought a Bilt jacket from this store a little bit over a year ago. Every zipper on the jacket broke. Found out from a review on yelp that Bilt jackets have a 5 year warranty. Went to this store today because I bought here. Asked the guy at the counter about the warranty on Bilt jackets because all of my zippers don't work anymore. Was told that they only exchange things within 30 days of purchase and the jackets only have a one year warranty. Then he said they're having a sale on Bilt jackets at the moment. I left because I didn't want to deal with a business that operates like that. Called the Pittsburg cycle gear and they told me to come in exchange it because the Bilt jackets have a 5 year warranty. And that is exactly what I did. I will now go to the cycle gear in Pittsburg for my gear and fluids. read more

Have been a loyal customer for years. Bought all my gear for the last several years from the Concord/Pacheco store. Today they lost me as a customer. I have routinely purchased their proprietary Bilt & Sedici brands of gear. While not quite as sturdy as Alpine Star or other leading manufacturers, I always found the quality decent and was pleased with the 5 year or lifetime warranties promised for these labels. Over the years, I have had many pieces of Bilt & Sedici gear fail at the seams, but the store always stood by it's warranty and replaced or refunded with no problems. Today I brought 2 pairs of gloves and a pair of rain pants to return. The store manager, Anissa, refused to return the pants, saying I had caused the failure by melting the pants. She also claimed not to be able to find one of the pairs of gloves in the computer and therefore refused to return them as well. It is possible that the pants had come in contact with the pipes on my bike and melted. No gripe there. I expressed frustration that they had not recorded my purchase of the gloves in their system. Anissa said that was my fault because I had declined to sign up for their email letter. So, because I don't want to be spammed, you have no responsibility to record the purchase in your system even though you ask for my name and address at every sale? She then criticized me for purchasing so much Bilt and Sedici gear, saying "have you ever considered spending a bit more so you wouldn't have this problem?" So it's my fault for being so stupid to think your company would build a quality product and then expect you to stand by your warranty when it fails? When I made this point, Anissa said I was "renting gear" by having purchased so many pieces of equipment that failed and then returning them. So apparently, Cycle Gear believes you as the customer are a fool if you loyally purchase the product they provide, and a thief if you attempt to use the warranty they promise. In the future, I will be ordering my parts & gear from Revzilla and other reputable online companies, and I would suggest other riders do the same. read more

Husband got the 6 year old his first dirt bike. We have been riding a few times with friends and know there is a lot more to it than just buying the bike. We came in to look around, check out sizes and different brands. Our son has a very "large" head for his age and we were having a hard time finding the right fit. Aaron came over and helped us. My son was going dirt bike riding the next day I was trying to order from website to pickup at store but they seemed to be out of his size in everything . He is a big kid I finally called pacheco location I got Joanne on the phone she was freaking awesome it was during covid19 so they weren't letting customers in .but you could pick it up at door. I told her everything I needed from boots the protection jacket gloves pants and jersey I had no idea what I wanted so she got it all together for me and it was perfect and bad ass. I gave her my credit card over phone well needless to say I was charged twice for the great price that I paid so 4 days later when I was dreading making the call to tell them how I was charged twice and was gonna have to explain the story of how Joanne didn't think the first charge went threw(I remember her mentioning that) I looked at my bank account 1 more time and there it was credited back to my account and I didn't have to say a word. How often does this happen this speaks volumes for this company and it's employees I will take any and all future motorcycle needs to this location and tell my friends. I Live in Livermore, Ca. which is about 35 miles and roughly a half hour drive. There is a Cycle Gear in the next town to me which is about a 5 minute drive. I have always had issues at the store nearest me not having inventory or parts that im looking for. I had bought a SEDICI helmet and had a serious problem with it. the actual inside foam and liner had separated from the carbon fiber shell and no one can seem to understand why...honestly great helmet just one of those rare occurrences. I took it to the local store and they did not have a replacement in kind. i was told they would order one and it would be a day or two. needles to say a week had gone by and still nothing. i called a few other stores and found a replacement at the Pacheco location. I called and confirmed that it was the same helmet and the size. i called my local location again and by this time it was about two weeks from the original call. i was told there was no record of my call and it would have to be ordered again. I told the local store where a replacement was and why they couldn't have it sent over for me to pick up. I was then told i needed to go to the Pacheco location if i wanted to do the exchange and there was nothing they could do for me. So i immediately went to the Pacheco location and showed my helmet to one of the employees who in turn was also in complete amazement of the damage and was concerned that i had been riding with this helmet. He immediately went and got the store manager (Justin) who in turn was also amazed at the damage. i told Justin the entire story and that the local store to me had basically blew me off. I also told him i called a few days prior and that they had a replacement in store. Well i was too late and the replacement helmet had sold. Justin looked through all a Cycle Gear Inventory and not one was available throughout all locations and he believed that none were coming out through SEDICI which he was correct. Justin in turn went above and beyond by finding a replacement helmet which turned out to be a BELL helmet at the same price. He also took the communication system out of the damaged helmet and put it in the new Bell. He replaced the visor that i had upgraded and paid a lot of money for in lieu of what had been provided at no extra cost. as i waited we had discussed different riding aspects etc. and not once was i put off for any other business. I was provided with what i believe the best customer service at any motorcycle shop i had ever been too!! I know drive the extra 25 minutes to the Pacheco location even if an inconvenience for the fact of the staff not only Justin are very personable and helpful. since i had new tires ordered that because of me were wrong to to rim size they were wrong. They did not make the tire i wanted in my size so i was actually given a better tire at no cost. I have always spent a ton of money at Cycle gear and have rode street and dirt since i was a child. I wanted to give Justin (store manager) and the entire Pacheco staff a GREAT review as i will always go to them for any future needs. I waited a couple months for the review to see how it played out and since have been there numerous times much dollars later and the staff has just gotten better with me as time has gone by! BEST CYCLE GEAR TEAM THERE IS! Thank you Justin and staff....much appreciated! This is my first ever review of any kind and im definitely a gear head not a computer guy so for me to do this is a huge deal! Today was the final straw for us going to Cycle Gear in Pacheco. Our son has 110 and his rear tire keeps flattening. It has been hit or miss when we take the tire there - we live in Brentwood but the cycle gear in Antioch refuses to change the tire so we started going to Pacheco (the Antioch store called for us and they told us Pacheco would do it). When we took it there the 1st time we were told "we don't change that size tire" My husband had to remind them that Antioch store had called them to make sure. Each time we have gone it takes my husband speaking up and someone from the back coming up to the front that will tell him "oh yes we can change it" (on 4 occasions this has happened). Today we sent our 17 year old to have the tire changed and he was turned away, he was told that they do not change that size tire and he could do it himself. There appears to be a discrepancy in policy based on whoever is working that day. Even if it took 2 hours to do, just let us know so we can come back. Today the personnel that was working was too lazy to get this done. Cycle Gear will no longer get our business. read more

I was really trying to let this go, but can't. Here's the problem with this store: products AND customer service. Maybe in some cases you don't need both, but you better have one or the other. The story: My husband purchased a helmet off their website. On sale with a blue tooth built in. It showed up with a broken blue tooth. No problem, it happens. He sent it back and exchanged it for another. Great. actually not great, the 2nd helmet's blue tooth was also broken. Ok, maybe it's a shipping/packaging issue so we decided to take it into a local store and exchange it where we could actually test the new helmet before getting it home. Seems reasonable. Upon walking into the store and explaining to employee A what happened, his 1st response was "well you've bought a very inexpensive helmet, I mean the blue tooth alone should cost this much". Ok pause for a lesson in logic. Because the helmet was on sale and hence a pretty good deal, that means it's okay if it is broken and doesn't work as advertised? I think not. So I say exactly that to employee A (admittedly in probably not the nicest tone), to which he responds "look, I'm not trying to argue with you". Um actually sir, I think that's exactly what you are doing. So employee A decides (for an unknown reason) that he doesn't want to help us, and passes us off to another employee. The employee B started off a bit nicer, tells us to pick out another helmet and we can test it out before making the swap. Okay great, finally a resolution. My husband finds the helmet, turns on the blue tooth, all seems to be working fine. He then places a call and OOPS, the microphone doesn't work. Calls over employee B to explain the problem. Employee B now mirrors employee A's comments by stating "well it IS an inexpensive helmet".....so, because this helmet has a lower price point we shouldn't expect all the parts to be in working in order? WTF? At this point I decide to wait for my husband outside to avoid having another episode of word vomit that I may or may not regret. So this next part is as-reported by my husband. My husband says to employee B [paraphrased] "Look, you can't advertise a product in one way and expect customers to be okay with it not working as described. Basically you are selling a crap product". Employee B responds with "There's no reason to talk to me that way". My husband "Actually there is, you are the face of this product and it doesn't work, and you are basically telling me I shouldn't expect it to work.I guess I'll just return the broken helmet I bought and get my money back". Employee B then tell my husband that he cannot issue a refund (on a broken product don't forget) and we would have to come back when the manager was in during the week. Are you f'ing kidding me?! So how exactly are you trying to help us out? By making excuses for your shoddy product? By refusing to give a customer a refund on a broken product? By being rude, arrogant and condescending? Now I hate to report this last part, because it shows that this kind of treatment prevails, but I want to be fair so...Because my husband can't come back during the week, certainly doesn't want a helmet that is not 100% in working order, he ended up exchanging it for a more expensive helmet and paying the difference. Cycle Gear = 1, Customer = 0. This is not how a good store, who trains employees well, and stands behind their products, should operate. I like to be about solutions and not just point out problems, here is an example of how this interaction COULD have gone: Customer: "Hi, This is the second helmet I've purchased from your online store and both arrived with the blue tooth broken." Cycle Gear Employee: "Oh man, that's a bummer. Let me see if we can help you out here and get you a helmet that works as described". (maybe add in) "Wow what a great deal on a nice helmet, you scored!" Customer: "Great thanks. Oh wait, this 3rd helmet is broken too!" Cycle Gear Employee: "You're kidding me?! Well that won't do. So that we don't waste any more of your time, I can do one of the following: apply the cost of this one to another helmet, try again to order this same brand online, or just issue you a refund so that you can go find a working helmet somewhere else. But don't worry, we're not going to let you walk away with a broken helmet!" (feel free to add in something nice about the brand like) "I'm really surprised, this is a great brand, I will be sure to let the manufacture know this happened 3 times". Problem solved. The only friendly person in the store that didn't act like they walked off of God's cloud of motorcycle heaven and we should all be grateful to just be in their presence was the young lady working behind the counter. Cycle Gear, promote her to manager and send these other tools to customer service training. Oh yea, and you might want to have a serious talk with your manufacture about the products they are putting out. read more

If you like good customer service this store does not disappoint. I went in because of a problem with wind noise in my helmet (707 vendetta 3) which I purchased a month earlier. I loved the Helmet just couldn't take the noise level. They exchanged it no questions asked and I ended up upgrading to the (shoei GT air) much better helmet, noise levels have been reduce by at least 50%. in this case you really do get what you pay for. This experience isn't even the reason for my post. But it's kind of related. I went back the next week to get a Bluetooth system for the helmet. Had some questions they were very knowledgeable, seeing how this is going to be my first Bluetooth I've ever bought I wanted to get it right the first time. I was already leaning towards the Sena due to the research I had done and asking around the community of very few riders I know. Ended up with the Sena 10u which turns out is made to fit right into my helmet. I asked if she could install it since I heard they would if you buy it there. She told me she could give it a shot but she didn't have a lot of experience with the installs I said that's fine you got more than me. Avissa and Kat Ended up teaming up on my helmet and got it knocked out in pretty short order it was kind of a tough install. It probably would've took me hours. Wow- I normally don't give 5 stars so easily, but these guys deserve it! I called about getting a refund for my battery since I had a warranty on it, and they couldn't find my receipt at first. He told me he'd call me back a little later after some searching... he later called me back and said he still couldn't find it, and I hung up thinking I'd have to look for the transaction in my credit card statements. Well, unbeknownst to me the guy on the phone in the store probed deeper and called me back a few hours later stating he found the receipt, gave me all the information, and told me that I'd be taken care of.
