I needed an expert to repair and readjust my Roll-N-Lock bed top on my 3500 RAM long bed pickup truck. Years ago I had purchased my Roll-N-Lock top at Campway's Truck in Martinez and for this service I returned to that shop. While on a recent trip to the Los Angeles area I had noticed that the Roll-N-Lock bed cover did not close, this the possible result of some rough roads I'd traveled while towing my fifth wheel. Down south I attempted to repair the bed cover myself, removing the cabinet box cover and attempting to free whatever was jamming the rolled up cover in the cabinet. After 30 minutes of trying, I realized I needed expert help. Campway's did not disappoint. They fixed the problem in less than 20 minutes by pulling the box off the truck and gaining better access to the roll-up mechanism. Then they fully lubricated the bed cover guides so that the cover closed very smoothly. I was raised by a military aircraft mechanic and have experience repairing broken items on my vehicles and around my home. It is a mark of wisdom when you recognize that you actually save money and time getting a professional to work on a more complex repair problem. The mechanic at Campway's certainly solved my specific problem with the closing of my Roll=N=Lock, but he also reviewed the general mechanical functioning of the bed cover and lubricated the mechanisms, averting future problems. Recently bought a truck that had a snug top camper that I was looking to add roof racks with a track system. I purchased the roof rack system from a third-party and was reaching out to other shops in the Bay Area for installation. Campway happen to be the last Shop reached out to, but I'm glad I did because the cost of installation was significantly cheaper than other shops in the Bay Area. I talked to Vinny and he was able to schedule me the next day so I dropped my truck off the night before so they could work on it first thing in the morning. I happen to notice that my shell was leaking so I asked if they could also take a look at that before installing the roof rack system. All said said and done they were able to install the roof rack system and fix the leak on my shell for about half the cost of what other shops in the area were charging just for the installation of the roof racks. When I told Vinny that he made it clear that they are not in the business of making a quick buck, but they are trying to establish a good clientele. If I have any other truck needs that these guys can take care of I definitely intend to continue doing business with them. I needed a camper shell for my new Tacoma. Other places said I had to wait up to 5 weeks! Campways said they have it on hand, and I can reserve it with a deposit. So I show up early for a 1130am appointment, and they work on my truck right away. The installation took only 30 minutes. The tech explained the features and I was done! Yeah it was a little pricey, but I didn't have to wait weeks for the shell. And it's a really nice shell! LED dome light, USB power port, sliding window and carpeted interior. Ordered a drop in bed liner over the phone and went to Campway's for the install. At the time there was only one liner available for my truck and it needed some adjustments for a good fit. Per my request, they made every cut and adjustment they could to make it as good a fit as possible but ultimately it didn't work out. This had nothing to do with Campway's service and everything to do with the liner. Though I was not happy with the final product I was concerned that I would be liable to buy it since I had requested so many adjustments. There was no way they would be able to re-sell it. I mentioned my concern and asked if I could refuse the product and they said yes with no hesitation. They said their main concern is that I was happy with the liner and their work and if not they would cancel the transaction, which they did. I called and spoke with a rep regarding a lumber rack for my truck. My situation was that I didn't have to purchase the rack right away so I wasn't exactly a customer. After asking a bunch of questions the rep had to call me back to give me answers. I got a call back a couple of days later and all my questions were answered. I ended up not purchasing the rack but I will eventually once something else is sorted out. That being said, I appreciate the fact I got a call back and had my questions answered. Purchase from Campways? Sure, install from Campways? No! Purchase a RSI Smart cap for 2023 Jeep Gladiator. They did not follow manufacturer instructions, used impact wrenches and damaged the plastic and metal of the bed rails on a brand new Jeep. They did work with RSI to install a second cap and make this correct but even then their team could not follow direction. Spacers were not positioned properly between the shell base and bed rail under the clamps. Dave is a nice guy and I enjoyed meeting him but don't let his crew touch your truck, do the install yourself. read more

These guys are amazing. I purchased my original snug top from them years ago. My truck was broken into a couple days ago, and they shattered the glass on the back of my snug top. Best case scenario was about two months as it has to be shipped from Mexicali, which includes five months in customs. Nobody stocks these back windows because they're like fingerprints. There's so many variations. You can't build a warehouse big enough. Anyway Rodrigo remembered back that filled an order for a back glass a while back and the guy canceled. I gave them the serial number and bam good news !!! Replaced same day... I noticed that they have A LOT of other accessories in there as well, so I'll be checking them out a little more closely in the future. Thanks a million guys.... read more

Ordered a leer cover for my truck took 6 weeks to come in. They installed it and the paint on the cover was all scratched i told them that its brand new shouldn't be all scratched up. He said he would get a new one in but itll be another 4 weeks. 4 weeks rolls around no cover. Finally get a call back and they want to charge me more money then originally quoted and still have not shipped the other cover back yet they uninstalled. I run a small business and have to have my trucks covered in my yard. I asked for my $500 deposit back and waiting for refund. Ive been out of a cover on my truck for 10 weeks and wasted my time. I would avoid and go to one of the other Campway facilities in the Bay Area. Ordered a new Snug top shell February through Nick who was always nice to deal with. Comes in two months later due to COVID, not their fault. Go to install it and its the wrong shell. They said factory messed up, OK mistakes happen. I asked Tom to make a special request to try to get the shell rushed, seems like the factory would accommodate this request if they in fact made the error. Toms attitude was less than accommodating seemed like I was asking too much he just said they are backed up it will come when they get to it. I called Tom a couple time's after another two months passes each time the reaction wasnt helpful just, we will let you know when it comes in not "let me try to expedite it due to the mistake. Well I finally got the shell after waiting 5 months and its a good shell but due to the "we dont really care" attitude I wont be back. read more

If there was a rating below zero, I would give it to these guys. I was looking for a replacement for the hydraulic struts for my Snugtop camper shell. I have an old Snugtop, and the parts for connection are different than the ones they use today. Last JUNE I went to them, and they ordered the parts they said I needed. I called several time and they looked up the order, said that they had not gotten the parts yet, and they would call me. Finally, on Friday I called again, so see if they had anything that could be kludged into place. I was told to bring the truck in so that they could look. OK I got there, and the guy I talked to on Friday did not remember talking to me, until he looked up the order, then it turns out they had gotten ONE of the parts in, so that they could fix one side, but apparently that was all they ordered. So they fixed one side, and gave the me the current parts for me to go try to figure out a kludge myself - Yeah, I think I could make it work Bottom line, it took them 8 f-ing months to NOT get it fixed. And I think ultimately they charged me for parts I didn't get - uggh I don't know, maybe if you are buying a new shell, they will treat you reasonably, but I thought this whole experience was unacceptable read more

I bought a BakFlip MX4 tonneau bed cover from Campway's on Pacheco Blvd, Martinez, CA. I had them install it and one of the two installers was not only rude, he did not know what he was doing. Further, he used the wrong Torx bit and stripped out the head of two bolts that attach the rails to the truck which will make it a big problem if I have to take off the rail.
