I have been shopping at Cycle Gear since 1990. The employees at Cycle Gear have always been extremely helpfu. The 3 star rating for the Pittsburg location is purely based on the lack of in stock gear, parts, and chemicals. They employees are quick to apologize for the lack of stock and offer to order anything you want. Whenever I need something same day I will stop here but ultimately drive to the Pacheco location for what I need. read more

Today, I give them a 1 star. Dropped my wheel off yesterday to get a new tire. I was told it would be done by 6:30p today. I showed up and their tire guy called out. Ok, that happens, but you call your customers and let them know the tire You told them to be ready will not be ready. I arranged a large part of my day around picking my tire up before they close because they said it would be done. That is very poor customer service. We will see how the rest of this situation goes to see if I am able to increase my one star. read more

I appreciate that this is close by and the staff are helpful. I always walk back to the clearance rack to see if there's anything that I find interesting. I was able to find an alpine stars jacket two years ago for $190 and was ecstatic! Other cool things that I have found on the clearance rack or in the sale area where my boots that I use as well as well you're not my gloves. And I really appreciate the fact that they have all their helmets out and you can try them on for a different fitness. Many manufacturers are sized differently kind of like how Nike Reebok and Adidas differ in width and length. I have encouraged other coworkers( that ride ) to visit the cycle gear in their neighborhood rather than simply just ordering online and hoping that it fits. My friend recently got a chance to visit before they closed up during this pandemic, and bought his entire family safety gear for their riding ATVs and quads on their farmland. I know that some of their locations will offer online pick ups at the door so check before visiting during the shelter and police mandate.this supports the local business rather than the online giants out there who don't pay taxes such as Amazon! In knowledgeable staff, rude manager. Staff is unknowledgeable, not their fault they just don't have anyone to teach them. Most of them are fresh employees from other stores coming to help a failing establishment. Manager, Willy, is pretty rude. It's his way or the highway. He's only semi knowledgeable on Harley's but doesn't know a thing about anything sport bike or anything offroad related. Tires will take over two days to be mounted or in my case, never mounted and told to come pick them up because they won't do them. It's a shame because it's really the only place with majority of the stuff I need but looks like It's time to just online shop from name dealers or amazon. Not worth the hassle of arguing with the manager because he doesn't want to do anything besides talk about how his road glide is the best. And just for everyone wondering, Contra costa power sports is about 2 minutes down the street from Pacheco cycle gear and they will actually help you. SAVE YOUR TIME, do not shop here. read more

It really depends on who you get as in most places. For example today I dropped my tire at around 3:30 and they told me an hour, from the house I called an hour later they told the guy who works on tires is on break and tells me 30 min more. 30 min later I show up at the shop for the guy to tells me that he hasn't even touched it and its usually done before end of day. I told him I really needed it and he said it would be at least 45 minutes more. He told me he had to get ready for bike night which why he can't get to my tire right now. So rather then work on my tire that I'm waiting for and paying for he is telling me he has to buy like chips and drinks and stuff and set up tables then he'll get to my bike. my bike is my main mode if transportation so I have to figure out how to get to work tomorrow now. I get they are trying to show customer appreciation by having a bike night but you know what else shows really good customer appreciation? GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. They are super bad here but I've gotten some really good guys working at pleasant hill location especially from an older gent who's name I wished I remembered just that he was super informative. read more

Let me tell you about the AWESOME CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE that I have received here from ALEC! I am very new to riding, noob if you wish but talking with Alec gave me confidence. When going over getting my first helmet he made sure to save the one I wanted at his home store because it was closer to home for me. Even when I couldn't go back to pick up the helmet he still was very understanding and helpful. I've gone to him regarding getting my biker gear like shoes and even exchanging a jacket because it was too heavy for Antioch summer heat. Every time I enter the store he is happy to greet me and very attentive with questions even if they don't pertain to an item in the store. This company needs more people like him and definitely should give him a raise! I've worked in customer service for many years and you know a great rep when you see them. Thank you Alec! The staff here were amazing to me. I didn't realize you could get service like this in Pittsburg/Antioch for anything. Every time I go in there, I can't get out in less than an hour because it's just fun talking with the staff about bikes or stuff in general. Raul and Tracey (I think that's her name!) were amazing. Single guys, Tracey is amazing. Cute gamer biker chick who knows her stuff. Get her while you still can! Ordered some gear and they were great. They said they would call me when it was in, and they did. They were helpful getting me set up with all the gear I needed and a 15% discount for a new rider was just icing on the cake. You get 30 days to return anything, no questions asked, and you get 7 days to return helmets for anything, no questions asked. I'll be back in the future for sure. This rating would be 5 stars, but I took off a star because pretty much all they have is Bilt stuff and the shop is on the dinky side. They need more selection! I walked in, no greeting! I got the guys attention and explained to him that I'm a beginner motorcyclist and that I was looking to purchase a helmet, jacket & boots & he replies "ok well lmk if i can help you with anything". The store wasn't busy at all, there was only one other female vs three employees. She was Caucasian and she was being catered too! So being that I am a beginner rider I had a plethora of questions about the gear. So every time I needed assistance I had to go out of my way find someone just for them to make me feel like I was bothering them. I asked for a size in a certain shoe, the guy told me they didn't have it, I then looked myself as I didn't realize the shoes were on a help yourself basis and found my size. I guess I didn't realize bcus the employee was gathering multiple shoes for the Caucasian lady to try on so I figured oh I'll wait for him to help me with shoes & I wasn't so lucky! After searching for a helmet for about 20 min, I felt so neglected, there was helmets I wanted to compare but I couldn't reach them & there was no assistance for me. I'm not sure if they thought that I wasn't going to buy anything bcus I looked broke or what but this was a very bad experience. I walked in that store with a budget of 700$ on some good quality gear and walked out with my 700$ bcus they refused to help me. I have been to this cycle gear twice, usually I go to the one in Pacheco. First time I came to this store was to buy Moto GP tickets and look for a new jacket. The guy at the counter was very helpful and didn't pressure me into buying anything unlike my previous experiences at the Pacheco store. Their store is a lot smaller then the other. Just like the other store they stock a lot of Bilt brand items more then any other brand. Higher end brands can be ordered as I was told. The second time I came this store was because I bought a Bilt jacket from the Pacheco store a year ago. Now every zipper on this jacket is broken. I originally went to the Pacheco store because I bought it from there and I know the jacket is suppose to have a 5 year warranty. The guy a the counter told me that cycle gear doesn't cover the jacket and they only exchange items within 30 days of purchase. And told me that they're having a sale on Bilt jackets at the moment. I called this cycle gear and asked about the warranty on Bilt jackets, the guy on the phone said they have a 5 year warranty and to come in and they'll exchange it. Went there 30mins later they exchanged it and helped me with buy other items. I will be going to this cycle gear from now on due to their honesty and quality customer service read more

I haven't had such a lousy experience buying a product since the last time I tried to buy a car from a dealership. I'm hoping the fact that I'm female has nothing to do with it. This location is fairly new. They have a pretty good selection, though most of their merch seemed geared towards offroading. I happened to be in Antioch and thought I might get a better deal outside the city. Big mistake! The prices are much higher than what I found at popular stores in the city. The worst part though was this one guy who gave me the sleaziest and lamest sales pitch I've heard in years. After his first question I rolled my eyes because I knew exactly where this was going. He asked me, "How much do you think your head is worth?" OMG! They don't really train them to say that crap, do they? I told him priceless of course, but I wasn't paying more than a couple hundred bucks. He proceeded to explain what was wrong with every helmet in my price range. He then described how much better the Shoei's and Arai's are. I had to repeatedly tell him I'm sure they're great but I'm not spending $500-$600. There was another young lady there who had been trying to help me though she didn't know much about helmets. She also had to keep telling him 1)I'd stated how much I was willing to spend and 2)I was not going to special order a helmet because I didn't live in the area and it wasn't worth driving an hour one-way to pick up a helmet. She tried to be helpful so that's the only reason why I'm giving this place two stars. Hopefully that cheesy sales guy will get a clue! read more

Products and service are very important in any business and this store has neither. I live in the area but I would much rather travel to Pacheco or San Francisco on Harrison St for a better service experience and also a better line of products. I have visited this store (Antioch) on many occasions, Bike Night, weekends and weekdays hoping to have a better experience. The service is below par in that when asking a question it seems to bother those that work there. Unfortunately I don't have names to list, as I don't really like blasting people's names unless I truly have to. I have seen them ignore people that were waiting to be helped and talk with an unfriendly tone. And yes, every time I have gone in, I just sit back and watch. I later use these observations as examples of what NOT to do for my staff. No product line to mention, 90% Bilt and the rest, leftovers. When I visited the store today approx 1:00 pm, I ask the young woman (who may have been a manager) about an Arai face shield she reply nope they don't carry it. I had to ask her if she could see if another Cycle Gear had one, again as though I was bother her but she did call one store and came back "nope". When I stated that I now have to go to SF to get one she said "if we don't carry the helmet, why would I carry the face shield?". That was not the response I should I received. Maybe something like "Sir, I am sorry we don't carry your face shield but I can order one for you." "Or let me try another store" I would avoid this store if possible unless you need something just to get you back on the road. read more

Thought this shop could handle a simple mount and balance of a tire but i was indeed wrong, no phone call when it was done though i was assured i should wait on that to go in and pick it up. A tire mount and balance isnt rocket science but this place sure will act like it is.. they changed my valve stem, without telling me and then tried to charge me for it, told me it is needed for the structural integrity of the inside of the tire and if i didnt i was"waisting" my new bt016. ive changed A LOT of tires and this is the first ive heard of that. Also they like to sell their Bilt brand gear, the stuff falls apart at the seams, was recomended by the associate so i tried it and it was a fail had to get all new gear within a couple months, I ride a lot so i guess if u a casual once a month rider this gear might work out. It was cheap and has almost zero life. Im never going back to this cycle gear or any of them for at this point. Horrible business that consistently tries to overcharge their customers and gives horrible service in return. Gonna go to a real cycle shop from now on. Not that overstuffed shack lacking in quality gear and service. shoulda gone with my gut and gone somewhere else read more
