I recently pulled the factory rear turn signals off my 2015 Dyna and installed an aftermarket LED integrated license plate holder that works as my turn signals, running light, and brake lights. Long story short, the bike originally had two designated brake lights, and the aftermarket setup has three. After I finished the install, the new light wasn't functioning properly. Turns out the bike needed a BCM flash to recognize and accommodate that third brake light. I called Oakland Harley and they were able to squeeze me in the following day. They actually offered to get me in the same day, but I was tied up. Jaden helped me out through the whole process and everything went smoothly. I was in and out in no time. read more

I came here to explore my options when shopping for my first motorcycle. I was eyeing an Iron 883, and they were so kind to also let me test-ride the demo Iron 883 bike that they have in front of the store. The staff was all very attentive and kind with me, from the sales people, the parts people, the mechanics, and the gals working the retail clothing store section of the store. While I ultimately did not choose a Harley for my first motorcycle due to the fact that it feels too overwhelming for my current skill level, should I choose to own a Harley in the future, I would definitely want to come back to the Oakland branch! read more

Purchased cruise control for my 2018 Breakout and they installed. I was waiting for three hours and received text message. Bike is tested and all is good. I went back to shop to pick it up and then: 1) When I picked up, even though they stated they tested, light was not working and tank was damaged. Store manager apologized however, no loaner, they will do their best could fix by memorial weekend as I was planning for long trip. 2) Yes, they sent me note next day can't fix it by memorial weekend and no loaner. 3) Week after Memorial weekend, receiving text that repair is not done. Memorial Day delayed the shipping of the trim. Just adding cruise control not just ruined Memorial weekend, but two weeks+. Never again dealer shop to install/repair anything. read more

I've had mixed experiences with Oakland HD's servicing of my 2020 HD Road Glide Ltd. On multiple occasions they have provided stellar service with great customer service during take-in, great communication while the bike was on the shop, and on pickup they had done a great job with the repairs and following my directions on how to handle my custom baby. However, on my latest visit I was not as pleased with the service. In an attempt to get to the coolant reservoir sitting behind my lower fairing speakers the tech used a flat head screw driver to try to pry the speaker adapter off and scratched my speaker housing and lower fairing. Then I noticed several speakers not working and when they checked the bike out they determined one of my amps had gone into protection mode. Now, I do not allow my bike to be washed for fear of damaging my audio system, and this was made clear to the tech, but when I questioned the tech he informed me that they had washed the bike including spraying it down with a hose. However, as you might expect they insisted the barely wet the bike and they refused to accept that this was unlikely a coincidence and mostl likely they wet the amp and caused a short. The long and short of it is, I have my baby back with new scratches, a $1000 amp that I now have to replace, and I now have to find a new service center I can trust. By the way, I was told by the manager that they've had a lot of turnover of techs...that was his excuse for them not knowing how to remove speaker grills to access the screws to remove the speaker pod to access the coolant reservoir. read more

My partner and I LOVE coming to this Harley store! Every time we've been here, we received the best customer service! Today we came to shop for a couple presents. One of the ladies (I think her name was Lisel) greeted us and was so welcoming. After a while she even checked in with us to make sure we were doing okay. This place is all about trying to get you for anything they can, took my motorcycle over there for a check up and found that apparently my 2012 motorcycle need more than 1000$ worth of work, me being naive i thought that Harley Davidson dealer wouldn't try to get me for stuff i don't actually need so i gave them the OK to do the necessary repairs. later a found that not only none of the work that was done was actually necessary as a matter of fact i found NEW DAMAGES on my bike that DIDNT EXIST BEFORE even the battery that was sold to me wasn't holding a charge after only a few months (they refuse to replace it even though its been only a few month) i hate to leave negative review but this business is ABSOLUTE RIP-OFF i would take my bike to the San Jose location next time as they were night and day difference read more

Let me start off by saying, and I can probably speak on behalf of most, how much anxiety I get from going to the stealership. I can turn a wrench and while HDs arnt too far off, I come from a sportbike background and all the tech and bells and whistles on these newer gens can be a little intimidating. On 1/29/24 I had an appt sched for a recall on my 22 RG, my service advisor was Allan, who greeted and acknowledged me promptly, among pretty much every team member I encountered. But I still maintained my guard ready to deliver my one liner that I rehearsed the night before "No thank you, just looking." Anyway, Allan was very informative on the process for my recall. Upon inspection prior to service, he notified me that my control housing was loose, my front brake light wasnt working. Coincidentally it was related to the recall. Well, he wrote me up for a 1hr labor diagnostic which I wasnt exactly prepared for, nor did I recite for. To be honest I was a bit skeptical but being that if there was no fault in the controls and it was indeed just the recall he asserted that the labor would be reduced/waived based on time spent. The bike rolled into the shop while we were finalizing preservice paperwork. During this time the mechanic Dave/David was able to diagnosis the issue. The previous owner had bars installed, the work was a little questionable. But Dave was able to sort it out quickly. Allan advised me and walked me to my bike where I met Dave, the cable was spliced from poor install, he seemed like a seasoned mechanic and was confident in his ability to timely yet precisely fix the issue. I strolled through the showroom floor, briskly walking through the parts and merchandise trying not to add to my tab. I decided to treat Allan and Dave to a sale since they were so nice. So i purchased some grips and got them installed. All the team members greeted me and were kind but not intrusive. Danny who I believe was in sales approached me and we had a cool chat. Yeah maybe he was trying to sell me a new HD but i had a little more discipline, or just no money. He shared his thoughts on the new 2024 line up and it just felt like a "bro" chat, more informative than sales pitch. Well 2hrs later, i think i did pretty well, still had a couple bucks in my pocket and my bike was ready to go. I did my once over and rode off into the pothole riddled streets. When i got home, i was going to attend to the clutch cable that was routed in such a manner that it wouldnt allow me to turn the switch to lock the forks. Shout out to Dave for being thorough and rerouting it, what a pleasant surprise. This gave me about 45mins before sunset to enjoy my new grips that Dave also did a great job on. Overall great experience, probably one of the best things the city of Oakland has, aside from taco trucks. Once again, thanks Dave, Allan, Danny, and the rest of the HD team and HD OAK. We often leave reviews based off our negative experiences, however, establishments like this are well deserving of positive reviews. Thank you! read more

We were on our way to pick up family from the Oakland airport and the flight was delayed so we had an extra hour before they landed so we stopped in while we waited. As soon as we entered we were greeted by most of the staff. They were all super friendly. Justin especially stood out to us. We had our 4 year old with us and he took the time to talk to him and make him feel special. We frequent Harley stores often and this one was one of the friendliest, they have all been great but the employees here were fantastic. We bought a few things then went to the airport. In the way home we stopped back in as our our of state family is also big into Harley. As soon as we walked in we were greeted again but Justin welcomed our son by his name. The fact that he remembered his name and then made sure to greet him by it was a great feeling for a 4 year old. So not only is the selection of motorcycles and retail items great the staff is even better. We will definitely be coming back to Oakland Harley again. read more

My first Harley purchase, Went in just to look around, Never rode a 850lb bike before. Took out a 2021 Street Glide Special and rode it around the area and was super pleased with the power of the 114cu in motor and the comfort of the seating position. The 850lbs melted away and did not feel the weight once riding. The price was the price, no negotiation, no deals, I guessing Harleys sell themselves and the inventory was not abundant. I am glad I purchased my first Harley. Went back for some parts, surprised how high genuine Harley parts are, but still got some mirrors, grips and flush gas cap, bluetooth helmet and a trickle charger. The first 1000mi service was done here also , expensive but seamless and pleasant. Dropped off the bike in the morning and got a call around 1pm , service done. I'm sure I will go back to get more stuff in the future. read more

I come into Harley Davidson Of Oakland and Am I mediately acknowledge with a good morning and a smile within minutes. I'm walking around checking out bikes checking out prices and I am approached by a very sweet very friendly woman who filled me with lots of information and who took time to talk to me about various promotions and specials. Not once did I get a high-pressure sales pitch just acknowledgment that someone who may be spending about 30,000 or more would expect to receive. What a great friendly shop! I stopped in Faultline Harley-Davidson yesterday to look around and dream about my future motorcycle and was helped by a younger guy named Daryn. He was so nice and knowledgable, I had fun while he showed me the bikes that I was interested in and the new 883 I'd heard about. He suggested some custom works I could do to make each bike I tried on fit me better (I'm a short rider). Also, he told me about these awesome sounding Garage Parties that are for women riders! I'm going to check out the one coming in August. :) I'm in LOVE with the Night Rod and one of the blacked out Sportsters... I'll post pics of them. The store also has great clothing, gear and accessories as well as an interesting display of bikes in the back... which I guess belong to the owner. I especially like the retro bikes... I'll definitely be back. Maybe when I'm ready for my 3rd bike, Daryn will still be there. I'm only on my 1st now, a 650cc and since my 2nd should probably not be over 1000cc, my Harley will have to wait. This place certainly deserves an updated review. The people here are really helpful and are extremely nice. My S/O and I rented out an Electra Glide Unlimited and the process was easy peasy. We walked in and was helped by Raul, who thoroughly went through the process. Not sure if it we were just anxious to get out on the bike, but he really went through full detail into explaining what additional coverage we added. My S/O took off in the bike in less than an hour (more likely 45 minutes.) It was my first time riding on a Harley, and even so, a real comfortable one. It was nice to have a back rest for once. It felt like sitting on a "mobile lazy boy" lol. While we only rented the bike for one day, we certainly had a blast. Upon returning, I showed up before my S/O did and asked the staff if he showed up yet. The lady the helped me was really sweet and offered water and to hang out while I waited. This is a late review but since I'm stuck home quarantined I thought I'd do this review from my time at this dealership a year ago. A gent by the name of Gabe R. helped me with the kickstand on my bike. Even coming outside and getting on his knees to check my kickstand on my 1999 Sportster. He could have easily oversold or lied to make a unnecessary sale. Instead he told me the bare items needed for my situation...sold me those and got my on my merry way. I've gone back to Oakland HD a few times since this and think they are a fantastic HD dealer/merchant. I would highly recommend them. read more

First of all, the quality of their work and the professionalism is outstanding. Secondly, it's really awesome that they are not afraid of customizing bikes, where many factory dealers are afraid to change "factory settings" on their bikes. They are straight up and super professional about everything. I've had several lengthy phone/in person conversation with them when I was on the fence about parts options and they described how "riding experience" is what really matters and not to choose based on cost or how cool I might look and those things. Statement like that can only come from true motorcycle riders. Some may say that dealers are NOT the cheap option but, to be honest, I don't know if it makes sense to let "cheap" shop work on your two wheels.
