My 800th Yelp review goes to the Oakland Harley-Davidson branch! They're conveniently located right by the Oakland airport, and they're very easy to spot on the road. I came here to explore my options when shopping for my first motorcycle. I was eyeing an Iron 883, and they were so kind to also let me test-ride the demo Iron 883 bike that they have in front of the store. The staff was all very attentive and kind with me, from the sales people, the parts people, the mechanics, and the gals working the retail clothing store section of the store. While I ultimately did not choose a Harley for my first motorcycle due to the fact that it feels too overwhelming for my current skill level, should I choose to own a Harley in the future, I would definitely want to come back to the Oakland branch!

Best experience I ever had. Great service and attention to the details of what I was looking for. Danny was awesome during the entire process, answering all my questions promptly. If you are looking for an honest shop with great people, than this is the place to shop. they even took care of me after the sale and addressed my concerns after getting the bike home.

I want to the thank Kenneth, Seth and Gina for being super cool. I'm happy to have purchased my first bike at OAKLAND HARLEY DAVIDSON. Kenneth was really helpful and dealt with all my paperwork. He took me on a tour and showed me around the entire dealership. He made this first time experience feel like I was a kid again at Disneyland (no kidding). I hope to see y'all in less than a year for my new Road Glide! Thank you!

My partner and I LOVE coming to this Harley store! Every time we've been here, we received the best customer service! Today we came to shop for a couple presents. One of the ladies (I think her name was Lisel) greeted us and was so welcoming. After a while she even checked in with us to make sure we were doing okay. When checking out, she went out of her way and basically packaged my presents in their own little gift bags (with tissues and even a ribbon!). She even went as far as whiting out the prices on the tags for me. There was also another lady (I didn't catch her name sorry!) who was so friendly and was chatting with us during our check out. All the employees here are so kind and helpful! We've been here couple times and always had a great experience!

I got perfect (and I don't use that term lightly) service from Oakland Harley-Davidson when I rented a new Harley for a ride to Idaho and back in May. That is my only experience with them. When you read Yelp for service ratings of motorcycle… Read more

First off, they moved. They're now at: 6601 San Leandro St…read more(94621) It's a better location because it's walkable from Coliseum BART. In the 2.5 years that I've been going there, the shop has changed hands twice, I think. Each time, it gets a little worse. Used to be, they were friendly, professional, and pretty quick. I got a bit of the "Dumb chick doesn't even know where her regulator/rectifier is" attitude, but I think that's to be expected. Anyway, as much as I feel some affinity for the place, and I think they're doing what they can, adjusting to a transition, etc., I feel compelled to share my most recent (and last!) experience there: 6/9/07: Take bike in for crash estimate. Damage appears to be minor, but need to be sure so I can get properly compensated by the woman who hit me. 6/15: They finally call me back to say the estimate's done (this is, mind you, half an hour of easy work). I go in the same day to look at the list of what's wrong, narrow it down to the things I actually want to have repaired, get an estimate for those repairs, and authorize the work to be done. This all went pretty smoothly. They said they had about an hour of work to do on it. 7/24: After numerous calls and various excuses (parts are on backorder, then received, but lost - gimme a break, it's a pair of bar ends!) I finally say I'm coming to pick the thing up on Friday, done or not. The mechanic I've been dealing with says he'll throw on some used bar ends for free and it'll all be ready to go (why he didn't offer this six weeks ago, I dunno) 7/27: The big day comes. I call in the late morning to ask them to hook it up to the battery tender for a few hours since it's been sitting for so long and I need it to start so I can ride home. I get passed around through a couple people and heckled because I can't get there earlier (they close at 6; I get off work in barely enough time to make it there). I get a call back 30 minutes later from an irate woman who wants to know why the heck my bike has been sitting there for so long (?!?) I explain that it's been ME waiting for THEM, then she flips out over the free (used, useless, for a long-time customer) bar ends. Tells me my mechanic is "no longer working there" Apparently they fired him the same day we had last spoke. Now, the guy may have been a bit disorganized, but he was a good mechanic, and these new folks are discourteous and clueless. Bottom line: I'm blaming them. Finally I go get the bike and they've managed to russle up some new bar ends for the thing ("we won't charge you for the (three minutes') labor to put them on" Oowie!) I pay for it all and scurry out as quickly as possible. Get it home and find: the mirror they replaced doesn't match the existing one and there's somehow a nut missing from the headlight (?!?). As a result, the bike's unridable until I can get the nut and whoever buys the thing is gonna find a way to take issue with the stupid mismatched mirrors. Sigh. Really, much of my frustration is that they robbed me of my last month to ride before I had to sell my bike, and forced me to sell it at a lower price because it's now late in the season for unseasoned riders. There's no compensation for that. Strong words to the would-be-wise: going to/from the City may be a pain in the patootie, but it's worth it to deal with O'Hanlon instead!

STAY AWAY. DON'T GIVE THEM ANY BUSINESS…read more THEY ARE CREEPS. I was thinking about an old girlfriend, who is having a bad time now with addiction. When she and I lived together, our way around was on my 1970 Triumph Trophy. That bike didn't help anything between us! They nicknamed Lucas Electrics "The Prince of Darkness" for good reasons! We left the Bay Area, and I returned years later alone. I decided to rebuild the top end, and I found a nice cylinder head to replace the one I had. At that time, leaded gas wasn't being sold, and recessed exhaust valve seats were an issue, so I had a nice head to work with. It took them forever to bead blast the head: they didn't get it done when they had said it would be done. I was working more than full time, and using my van to get around, which was in such bad shape that I had to avoid any hills around San Francisco (or get a running start). The shop finally called and said the head was ready- much later than they had promised it. I didn't have any time, within their shop hours, to go pick it up, and I didn't have time for much of anything, unlike when I expected the head to be finished. When I was able to make it over to the shop, they had doubled the cost of the work with "storage fees"! I told them that the job wasn't done when they said it would be done, and that I refuse to pay any extra. Mr. tough guy got all big and puffy and he told me that he wouldn't return my property unless I paid what he wanted, which I refused again, and then he took a swing at me and hit me! They live up to their name: don't give them anything... there are other places to go for what you want, so go to them.
