I can't say enough good about Dr. Cynthia Lynn Novak, DDS! This review is a long time in coming, even though I have not been with Dr. Novak but for about a month. I could write a five-star review for every time I have been to her office in a short amount of time, as I have work that needs to be done on my teeth right away, and she has helped me from the first day I contacted her office and spoke to Alexis, I have been so very blessed by the Lord through Dr. Cynthia Lynn Novak, DDS's practice.
My husband and I are new to the area, and did not have a local dentist when I began to have pain that ended when I had a root canal. I knew no dentists in the area. I simply went online to try to see if there was someone who could assist me in my increasing pain. The first dentist I contacted was able to see me, and recommend me to an endodontist.
I really had wanted to be referred to a dentist in this area by someone I know personally, so with a few days before going to the scheduled endodontist to get a never-before root canal (of which I had heard horror stories about), I was really wanting to make sure that that endodontist truly was a good one. With the few days before the appointment, I called one of my sisters, and asked her about her dentist that she has told me about (who is not in the area, and is a bit of a drive). She directed me to her dentist, Laurene K. Duke, DDS. No matter where my sister lives on this earth, Laurene will always be her dentist. So Laurene couldn't be more highly recommended. I called her office and spoke to Chelsea (her sweet daughter who is the receptionist). She heard my ever-increasing painful situation, and my concern about having a root canal done by someone I really don't know. She referred me to her friend and classmate who lives within ten miles from where we are living now - that would be Dr. Cynthia Novak! So I callled and told Dr. Novak's receptionist, Alexis, my concerns. She relayed everything to Dr. Novak. Dr. Novak was incredibly gracious to call me back HERSELF after I had left a message on their answering machine, and requested a call from her since I was thinking of waiting to have her see me and direct me to the endodontist of her choice. She was so compassionate. (She told me on my first visit to her, that in that phone call she could hear that I was in tremendous pain.) She told me that the endodontist I was scheduled to go to was one that she also uses, so go ahead and keep my appointment with them. She really gave me peace of mind. I did just what she said, and I really appreciate her caring concern and her expertise advice.
For my first appointment with Dr. Cynthia Novak, when she would need to do "the works" on me for x-rays, besides look at my root canal that needed to have a crown put on, I was put at ease. Her office has done above and beyond for all the requirements for a dental office to function during Covid-19. Wow! They are about as sterile in their preparation for patients as I have seen! One of the things the Dr. and her staff who work on the patients have to do is to wear scrubs which include the hat, the booties, a gown, a mask, a face shield (with the small micro-glass-piece that hangs right in front of the eye - and the patient can't really see the eyes, let alone the rest of the face).Dr. Novak and her right-hand, Stephanie, were so enjoyable. I have never enjoyed going to the dentist like I do. Stephanie put me at ease with her light-hearted, and kind words. Her personality is very enjoyable. By the time she had done all she needed to do before Dr. Novak came in, we certainly had a very good rapport. Stephanie knows how to keep light-heartedness in the air. She's super. So Stephanie is on my left. Then Dr. Novak enters on my right. She was covered from head to foot with Covid-19 gear/protection. She stood there and looked at me, and I could hardly help but start laughing, because her super personality was shining through all that Covid-19 protective garb, as she simply looked at me, as if to say, "Okay. I'm the doctor, and I know I look like no dentist you have ever had in the past - covered from head to foot with layers of protection." So when my instant smiling eyes being the only part of my face she could see was accompanied by an under-my-breath laugh,(along with Stephanie's laugh), Dr. Novak went with it and said, "You're laughing at me!" It was hilarious between the three of us! I blamed Stephanie for me laughing, and we all had an incredible intro. This team of two have been best friends and working together for 20-30(+?) years, and it is a delight to be the patient of such a great team. They work together exquisitely!
I have a lot of work to be done on my mouth. I have not been to a dentist for about 10 years, and I need expert advise and skill! That is what I have found in Dr. Cynthia Novak and her staff. I just had my teeth cleaned by Leah. Kim works the phones, too. All the girls are a delight. There is so much more to say.... read more
