We were seated within five minutes of arrival, which was impressive. Service throughout the evening was excellent. The sirloin was cooked to the correct temperature and had great flavor. The manager (I think Warren) and the staff are amazing (they love their job) and provide a fun atmosphere without creeping in on your conversations or being too helpful and always at your table. I said " you want me to drive 20 minutes there and 20 minutes back home and my dinner that I received will be cold". "Worst Experience at Texas Roadhouse" This was by far the worst visit I've ever had at the Harvey location. I ordered an 8oz filet mignon with chili and a sweet potato. What I was served was a tough, fatty sirloin that the server later admitted was the wrong order. The chili was watery, and I even bit into something hard like a rock. When I asked for the manager, she never once offered to fix the mistake. Instead, she aggressively said she would just close out the bill -- but that I still had to pay for the small Caesar salad and drinks. The tone was condescending, and the entire experience felt dismissive. The food was rushed, the service careless, and the management unprofessional. I've only eaten at Texas Roadhouse a few times and it seems to be pretty average for a lot of their food while I find their steaks tend to be on the tougher side to my taste. Texas Roadhouse does take great care of military veterans so I'm a big fan of that. The service has always been friendly and attentive during my visits. The ambiance matches their name and certainly seems like a Texas roadhouse joint. Overall this is a decent chain joint but it isn't my first choice if I can go to a local spot instead. read more

Have to concur with what other reviewers have already said. This restaurant is always busy. Consequently it is loud, crowded, and the wait for a table can be lengthy. The parking lot is correspondingly nutty as well. Lots of coming and going, inside the restaurant and out. The service can be hit or miss, but the odd things that happen derive from them being busy rather than from poor service. I haven't had a problem with anything that wasn't rectified right away. The servers are attentive and friendly. The last guy I had knew every last detail about everything on the menu - which options/choices come with what, what beers are on tap, what the salad dressings are, etc. - all the things that make servers go "ummm, I'll find out" he had it down. Service aside, the food is consistently great. I am not a connoisseur of steaks, I am sure you can get better ones elsewhere - but the ones I have had were always fine. The non-steak menu items are good. My wife loves the chicken tenders. The side salads are fresh and cold and almost big enough to call an entree. The baked potatoes are enormous and the baked sweet potatoes are like eating dessert with your steak. I don't drink here very often but the drinks we have had were good and reasonably priced. Recommended. Brace yourself for a little nuttiness and possibly a wait for a table and go. It's worth it. read more

Everyone was out here. Could have been the July 4th weekend or church lunch rush. Once our whole party was there, we were waiting in line for the tables. They had to rush clean a table for us as it was just recently vacated. The server walked us over to the table and we were waiting a bit for them to finish cleaning our tables and chairs for a few seconds. Everyone was really nice and they asked us if we ever been there before as we were walking. We sat down and our server Maddie came. Maddie was the sweetest and was a hard worker. She took our drink orders and our appetizers quickly. We spent a bit of time to get our food order settled but Maddie was really helpful! In the meantime, one of the managers, Sydney came over and talked to us. She was nice and made sure we were doing okay. A few minutes later, another manager came by and gave us peanuts and a free appetizer card for our next visit. I was honestly surprised. I now understand why this place had such a great rating. Their service is amazing! Maddie came back and we put in our meal orders. It didn't take long for us to get our dishes. In terms of the food, the free bread was a bit chewier than I remember at other locations. However, the cinnamon butter spread was just as good. The bread was hot and was cut easily. We got the cactus bloomer and also the cheese fries as an appetizer. Both were really good. The sauces (ranch and blooming onion sauce) were great and tasted good. The Caesar salad was good but I didn't get a lot of the Caesar dressing. The croutons were a few as well. I had the beef tips which were great. The mashed potatoes were fluffy and soft. The gravy wasn't too overpowering as well. The beef I ordered was cooked medium and was great. One of my dining mates said that his carrots weren't fully cooked but his fish was great. Ribs were good as well. They fell of the bone and had a great balance of sauce and meat. The pulled pork was bland without the sauce as they separated the sauce. I think that the pulled pork could be cooked with the sauce and then an additional bbq sauce packet could be given on the side. The country fried steak was good too. Overall, wow. A great place to go for bbq in Slidell. The service really made the experience here exceptional. The food is honestly pretty good as well for how busy they were. My salmon had a very bad smell. I always squeeze fresh lemon on my salmon, so I didn't can't the smell until I took a bite; very weird flavor. I didn't get to enjoy my food because my appetite was spoiled. The service provided by Bailey was amazing. She was so kind. I ordered a hurricane margarita otr which was perfectly balanced in flavor. They were pretty busy so we put our name on the list and sat outside to wait. After a short time, a lot quicker than expected, we were seated.
