Instead he suggested a network mesh, which is still wireless and would not provide the speed of a wired connection, which is what I needed. I was in the middle of renovations that included extensive electrical work, and when I told my electrician this story, he ran the cable for me at no extra charge. Since the baseboards had already been removed, it took him about 20 minutes. The HelloTech description of the "In-Wall Cable Running" service is: - Assess the cable run path - Run cable behind the wall via the determined path - Test connection to ensure functionality - Can be applied to TV cables, Ethernet (internet) cables, and speaker cables For some reason, the technician did not think this actually meant running the cable behind drywall. Since he was there, he helped me troubleshoot some dead in-wall network ports, so in reality I received the "troubleshooting" service rather that the "in-wall cable running service" Ultimately I paid $250 for a $69 service that I never would have requested since I could have done that myself.

I hired Granado to install a simple ethernet drop in a room in my house that had attic access. They…read morewere prompt with the initial communications and got a technician out quickly. The technicians that came to my house were all very polite, and the ethernet drop is functional, other than that I can't say many positive things about my experience. The initial quote was for about $150 with a caveat that more time spent onsite would incur a higher cost, which is understandable. The initial technician visit lasted for hours as he attempted to get the cable dropped down in between studs. After a few hours of trying he suggested that we drop it elsewhere, but he had already put a hole in my wall so I insisted that we continue with the initial drop location, even though this was going to cast extra, I didn't want a random extra hole in my wall. Funnily enough, I did end up with an extra hole in my wall because the technician lost control of the drill and drilled through the wrong side of my wall when trying to bore through a horizontal stud. He finished up the ethernet drop install and promised that someone else would be back to patch the other hole. This was a pretty small hole and something I could have easily patched myself but I figured I would let the company make it right and correct their mistake. They came back out about a week later and someone put some spackle on it, borrowed my wife's hairdryer to dry the patch, and then left. No sanding or feathering, no texture to match the wall, no paint, nothing. I went to home depot and bought all of the supplies I needed to match the knockdown texture myself, and finished the patch over the weekend. Throughout the entire process I was getting emails reminding me about my overdue payment of nearly $450, I kept waiting for some sort of credit or price drop given the shoddy work but it never came. I figure a harsh but honest Yelp review is easier for all parties involved instead of me invoicing Granado for the time and materials that were required to fix their mistake.

I moved to town June 2021. I asked three places to install my theatre. At least one place told me I wasn't a "high dollar thus as valued customer". I remember those places, always. I called Empire and within 5 days they had a wonderful gentleman come over and give me an estimate. Side note, all stereo places prefer you buy their equipment before they install it. Empire did all my installation needs within one month and didn't complain that I only bought cheap ceiling speakers. The whole job was on par for pricing and the amount of work was well done and quick. Finally, I have Control4 so they were able to automate my theatre experience. I have had one issue, my router went down and for some reason the receiver I bought in NC lost it's IP information. While I had to pay for the service call, Empire had someone out within 4 days and not only was it fixed within 10 minutes, the installer showed me how to fix it! In summary, if you want good AV (Audio / Video) equipment and installation for your home in a timely manner, reasonable prices, and by good people, give these guys a shout. You'll be very happy you did.
