I had an appointment this morning to get my carpet cleaned and they gave me a three hour time block between 9:00am- 12:00pm. I hate when service people do this because you already know that there goes 3 hours of your time when you have to stay put and can't leave the house. This was *not* the case this morning (12/14/19) when Siarhey and Tanya showed up at 9am. Siarhey walked in with some booties and asked me to show him where all the spots were in the carpets. I was able to do a walk through to show him everywhere that needed to be cleaned. They got all of their equipment upstairs and went to work. It was done faster than I could have imagined and I have the whole rest of the day to myself to get outside on a Saturday. Amen to that. If I had to describe their service, I would say quick, efficient, professional and kind. Thank you Siarhey and Tanya! Not only are my carpets clean but I can have the rest of the day to myself. I'm seeing some negative reviews about this company but my experience was very positive. When I called they confirmed an appointment for a same day, I also received a call back that their technician is runny late and I told them just call me 30min before (which they did). Sergey was very knowledgeable on the carpet cleaning and he provided me some advise and let me choose how I wanted to proceed (no pressure at all). Since I leave on the 3rd floor I took his advise and used portable cleaner vs truck mount and it worked very well. Regarding the payment they use Credit Card, Pay-Pall, Venmo I hope in the future they would add Zelle too. Regarding the price it was reasonable $174, I'm not sure why some people complaining about $85, or $129, those prices are long gone, if you want a good carpet clean expect to pay between $160-$250. It seems that according to D&G carpet cleaning you hire them to get your carpet looking "a little better". Our carpet is only 3 years old and there is only myself and my wife in the house, no kids. Also we do not wear shoes in the house so I would assume that our carpet should be relatively easy for a professional to clean. We recently bought a new couch because our old one was just too big for the room in our new house. As soon as we moved the old couch we saw just how dirty the carpet had become because the carpet under where the couch had been sitting was still nice and bright, (our carpet is a light beige or cream color). Seeing how dirty the carpet had become grossed me out so I looked up carpet cleaners and D&G with their "$85 for 3 rooms" special was attractive. Their employee Alex came out and I showed him the living room with the dirty areas where we walk in from the kitchen along with a couple of stairs that also looked slightly dirty. I assumed that the living room area and the stairs would count as 2 rooms but apparently D&G charges extra to do stairs, ($3 a stair!). I don't understand the need for this upcharge but whatever. There was also a hallway and small area just in front of the master bathroom that was looking a little dingy. So Alex gives me his estimate, Living room, stairs and part of the master bedroom...................... $199!!!! Obviously the $85 special they advertise is just a bait and switch. But I agree to have him clean the carpets. After about an hour Alex is done and I look at the living room and I can still clearly see the dirty spots that were the whole reason I hired him in the first place. I tell him that I am unhappy because I can still see the dirt and he basically says that this is as good as it is going to get. So what is the point of hiring a "professional" carpet cleaner if they can't get dirt out of your carpets???? Part of the reason for the high price that Alex charged me was that he said the living room spots were because of "high traffic" and they have to use different chemicals for that. So what type of dirt is "regular" and doesn't need special chemicals to clean? Again I ask you, "Why does one hire a carpet cleaner?" Because the carpet is dirty and you want it clean! I guess D&G thinks that carpet cleaners are just supposed to take already mostly clean carpets and just give them a little touch up. Also I noticed that Alex had hooked up his machine to the garden hose in my front yard and one of his connections was loose and was spraying water all over my sidewalk. I shudder to think how high my water bill is going to be this month. So beware potential D&G customer. They will most likely not honor the $85 special that got you to call them in the first place and they will be using your water system when they "clean" your carpet. read more

I gave them all of this information via telephone. They told me they would charge me $85 to provide the services I inquired about. I needed a basic carpet cleaning on short notice for a reasonable price and found D&G's "$99 for up to 3 rooms steam cleaning" Yelp deal. They were flexible with scheduling and Giga arrived promptly (actually early) on the day of our appointment. (He was scheduled to come between 4:30-5:30pm and arrived 4:15pm). Giga was friendly, easygoing, and helpful in clearing personal and furniture items out of the way. I pointed out a few light/medium stains (food and kitty cat) I wanted removed and he recommended the shampoo cleaning (as steam cleaning doesn't remove stains) so I opted for this instead - $150 for 3 rooms and he threw in the hallways for free. The entire appointment (quick clean-up, machinery setup, and shampoo cleaning) took an hour. When he finished most of the stains were 95% gone. There were faint remnants of the stains which I could only see at certain angles under the sunlight. The carpets were dry by the next day and Giga had recommended helping them air out by leaving all the windows open, which I did. Once the carpets were dried they felt kind of "crunchy" (not sure if this is normal as it was my first carpet cleaning) but it did go away in a few weeks so no harm done. Now I have clean shampooed carpets and my cats have a fresh palate to surprise me with their occasional hairballs, cat puke, and "number 3." Thank you Giga. :) read more

I'm giving it 2 stars because the guy was fairly nice. My carpets are only 2.5 years old and we take good care of them, but we do have 2 dogs. The sad thing is that honestly the carpets looked better before they were cleaned. Even after a thorough vacuum the next day after it FINALLY dried, in which I got almost an entire bin full of hair and dirt (see picture) from just the two rooms that I had "cleaned", the carpets appear more matted than they did before they were cleaned...so sad. But what REALLY annoys me is that they didn't move a SINGLE piece of furniture to clean underneath, not even light weight ones, so really they only cleaned maybe 60% of the rooms. So needless to say $350 later (we had 2 rooms, our stairs, and kitchen tile cleaned), I will not be using them again...the guy even dissed our wall color choices! I needed a simple cleaning of 3 rooms, a hallway and 10 stairs. The person on the phone quoted me $139. So, I thought sounds great. The guy who came to the house drove up on a nondescript white van and got to work right away. He took 2 breaks during the 1 hour job and smoked his cigarettes out on my front porch and left his smashed cigarette butts right there on my front steps (nice). Halfway through his cleaning of the steps, he informs me that the pricing for the steps had changed and each step costs $10. So, at the end of my $139 job, I am presented with a bill for $218 and a front porch full of cigarette butts. The actual steam cleaning job was only half done. None of the furniture was touched or moved in any way to do a better cleaning job. Based on their work product I would have given them 2 1/2 stars. I should have read these reviews before hiring this company. What everyone else said was absolutely true - they give you one low price over the phone ($99 for 3 rooms) and then immediately double it when the arrive at your house (to $179). I recently had new tenants move into my townhouse. Before they arrived I had the carpets professionally cleaned by another company. They came out great. However, once the tenants moved in, they complained that they carpets had a pet stain odor (I think possibly because the house was vacant for a week in warm weather, bringing the smell out). To keep my tenants happy, agreed to have the carpets cleaned once more, but went with this company because of the low price. I was told over the phone that the price to deep clean three rooms was $99. I told them I cared less about stain removal (as they had just been cleaned) and more about odor. When the technician arrived at my home (my tenant was there, not me) I received a phone call from the female operator telling me that the price was now $179. I asked what happened to the $99 estimate. She said that the carpets were very dirty and required a deeper cleaning. WHAT? They were just cleaned two weeks ago and I was at the home the day before and did not notice any excessive spots (it's an older carpet) and it smelled fine to me. Again, I was just having this done to appease my tenants. The lady was very rude and said "How can I know what the carpets are like? I'm not there." She also said "How can I give an estimate? How do I know about these things?" Well, you should know because you are a CARPET CLEANING COMPANY and should be able to give a reasonable estimate because you should know your business. The only time the price should change dramatically is if you walk into a carpet that is completely trashed. As we already had all the furniture moved for a cleaning, we wanted it done the same day. They sent Martin over a few hours later and he was extremely nice and professional. It took him under an hour to clean basically 3 rooms and a hallway. It was a basic shampoo and deoderize and cost us $185. I'm honestly not sure if it looks that much better than when we do it ourselves with the cleaner from Home Depot, but it sure was a lot easier and faster so for us it was worth the money. read more

Total bait-and-switch!! Made an appointment with D&G sort of by accident. I googled for carpet cleaning in San Mateo, then stupidly clicked one of the ADs in the search results. It was Fresh-Carpet-Care.com. They must be a shell for D&G (explained below; read on). Their prices were way too low (that should've been my first clue). They advertise 3 rooms for $89. The highest price on the site is an entire 5 bedroom house for only $119! [UPDATE, 5/8/2015: On the Fresh-Carpet-Care.com site that they hide behind, they just lowered their 3-room price from $89 to $69! Brazen dangling of ridiculous bait!] I called, spoke to Crystal, and made an appointment for the next day. She said the "technician" would call me about 30 minutes before arriving. So I arranged to work from home, and then I moved a bunch of furniture. The guy did call late into the appointment window (a 215 area code=Pennsylvania, just so you'll know if you get this same guy) and then finally showed about 45 minutes past the end of the appointment window. He has a slavic accent, which I only point out in case you encounter this company. Nothing against slavic people or their accents. He came in to see what the job would entail. I pointed out one normal sized living room, one long hallway, one rug, and 2 tiny sections (3x10 ft), one in each bedroom. Note that this is *maybe* equivalent to 3 rooms, and that's being extra generous. Note also that the website advertises 3 rooms for $89. Imagine my surprise when the guy says that he can do this job for $279!! I immediately said "No thanks. I'll pass. Thanks for coming." He went on to say that this job would require deep cleaning (which is what they'll say in a response to this post, if they respond), and that I am now including a rug, etc. I showed him the website I'd used to find them and pointed out the prices. He said he can't vouch for the advertised prices because he's with D&G, not directly from Fresh Carpet Care. He then lowered the price to around $215 (I don't precisely remember). That's not a horrible price, but I was not interested because of the blatant bait and switch tactic. The guy was courteous enough, but I told him "no thanks" a few more times and walked him out. I then called Fresh Carpet Care's 888 number and spoke to a man with a slavic accent. He said he couldnt really comment without knowing what the "technician" saw about my carpets, but that he would have the general manager call me. He was courteous. Later a woman called (slavic, I think....not that it matters) from D&G and explained that advertised prices are just estimates, my carpets are really dirty (uh...they're just normal dirty) which would require deep cleaning, and the guy is still in the neighborhood if I wanted to let him come back and we can agree on a reasonable price. But by this time I had already booked with another company. I need to stress that there was no misunderstanding and that my carpets, while dirty, are not extremely dirty. I think they bank on people just going through with it because they've already blocked out the time and have moved their furniture. Beware these guys!! Other victims of these guys, you should submit a complaint with the San Jose BBB because right now they have a A++ rating! read more

I saw D&G here on Yelp! and saw some good reviews so I called and made the appointment. They showed up right on time. I have about 30 carpeted stairs some of which were almost back with dirt... he worked hard and by the time the job was done the rug looked basically new.. I was shocked how nice it came out... My experience was different than some of the others posted... Yes he bartered a little but the time he spent combined with the results made it worth the dollars we agreed... It was fair. The guy was polite and may be humble, he said: I can not guarantee that the wine stains disappear but I'll try .... he did it. When I called for appointment to get estimate, they insisted that it is done by the number of rooms. They quoted me $159.00 I asked twice how can they give estimate without seeing the place and they said that it's how they do it and that's it period. The technician arrived and he wanted $21.00 more. He was rude and insisted that that's the way it is. I was desperate because we are moving furniture the next day so I went ahead and agreed for the higher price. He a very bad job, the carpet was left so wet and soggy. As soon as it tried which took 2 days with heat up to 80 degrees and fan day and night. As soon as it dried, the dirt re surfaced. Four reasons I am giving D&G Carpets one star. If it were possible they would get 1/2 or no star at all. My appointment was actually with ZeroRes (ZR). When D&G showed up on my door step they said they are partners w/ZR and are sent when ZR overbooks. ZR tells me they do not partner with other companies. So I do not know who to believe on this subject. 1. My carpets are now ruined. Since D&G cleaned them they stain and look dull & dingy very quickly. 2. I called ZR for an appointment because I wanted a company that did not use chemicals. I believe D&G uses chemicals that leave a residue because after shampooing D&G told me they had to rinse the carpets to get the residue off. 3. I was quoted $99 by ZR but wound up being hoodwinked into paying $149 to "clean the high traffic areas." This was for a place that is less then 800 sq. ft. and was completely EMPTY of furniture. It had to be one of the easiest jobs the guy ever had and he did a pretty poor job. 4. D&G told me the carpet would be dry by the next morning and I could start putting furniture back. It took four days for the carpet to dry. The person cleaning saturated my carpets. I was and continue to be very disappointed in the work performed that day and the negative affect it has had on my carpets. read more

They came to my house on July 15 and in the first bedroom he missed a spot? He pushed the roll away bed over the spot? He told me he did on that side of the bed! When I call them and they said they would call me back and they never did! My son called them and they were rude and said the job was done! He had another friend who was going to call them but really can be trusted to complete job right! I'm dis-pointed! I asked about the sale price and they acted stupid! BAIT and SWITCH I called a week before, set the appointment. They forgot I guess, came out 3 hours late to do the $79- minimum, I had 2 small rooms. They brought a rug doctor machine. Told me for $79- the stain would not come out, and I needed the 'deep' cleaning for $249-. I asked what was the difference, the guy said, Ill use shampoo and I will work a bit harder. I said just get the carpets clean....he did, (left them very wet because that little machine cant pull the water out) Helped him load up his truck, gave him a check for $79- and told him to sue me for the difference. He told me this only happens a few times a month and that he just worked for free. So, D&G is not only ripping off their customers, but the people they have come out to do the actual work. I hope they sue me, Im sure Ill get a judge that has had carpets cleaned at last once. the whole thing was surprising that they were actually in business. Had an estimate over the phone with the nice representative and he gave me a quote for cleaning (2 carpets, 1 area rug, 10 stairs) for 149$. They guy who did my cleaning has been very professional and knowledgeable of what need to be done. He look at the job that is need to be done and advise the spot treatment for additional 40$. I agreed and the carpet has been cleaned very quick and professionally. Also the drying period time was very quick. The guy who did this has been awesome, very quick, knowledgeable and responsible.
