I called Jim this morning to inquire about his services after inspecting my newly leased apartment and finding the carpets in worse than expected condition. Since I have movers coming in tomorrow with all of my belongings, Jim offered to swing by later in the day while the apartment was still empty. The owner, Jim, has helped clean my carpets on several occasions. He does a very good job and is very responsive. One time he was running about a half an hour late and he called me before hand to let me know he would be late. I deplore businesses that give to a large block of time in which they will arrive at your home, so I appreciate when trades people let you know their approximate E.T.A, so I can plan accordingly. Jim is also able to give you an estimate over the phone (if you give him measurements of the rooms being cleaned), so you can decide whether he is within your budget. It looks fantastic, I actually laid on it for the first time in a year and a half :P He got out wax with an iron and rust with who knows what, but he definitely put some elbow grease into it. He uses a van-run machine with a really powerful motor. Go horses, go! Although Jim did not make it at our agreed time, he did communicate well with me and was only 2 hours behind schedule. Wow! Our carpet looks amazing! We have 2 toddlers and a big dog, so our carpets were a wreck before. Between play dates with 10 toddlers running around, sippy cup spills, baby food spills, messy crafts, potty training mishaps, muddy paws, and lots more... we thought our carpet was a lost cause. We do own a (rather expensive) steam cleaner, but it never really got our carepets clean. So, we finally decided to let the professionals have at it. Graham should wear a red cape, this guy is a crusader. So friendly, professional and was really quick to fit me in and we live all the way up in the Santa Cruz Mountains. My disgusting tenant left and we found cat urine and vomit all over my nice apartment carpets. The carpets are in great condition but have been down too long to charge her to replace so Graham worked his magic and went over them twice. Jim was a great referral from Lambert & Sons Flooring. He cleaned the carpets and got rid of the fish tank water smell. He even managed to get the spit-up stains from my baby, something the other guy carpet cleaner didn't do (a month earlier). Jim just left, and I want the first thing I do now to be to give him a fantastic Yelp! Here's why I will call Graham Carpet Care again and recommend them easily to my friends: (1) Jim does a fantastic job! He removed stains that I never expected any carpet cleaner to be able to remove. Not just run-of-the-mill pet stains, but the stains left after our dog ate a half a bag of chocolate chips. I won't go into graphic detail, but these were the worst carpet stains I have ever seen anywhere. And (I'm embarrassed to say), these weren't fresh stains. We tried everything at home to clean them, but only seemed to make the spots worse. They are now gone! (2) Jim was easy to schedule. I called 2 days ago after seeing his reviews on this site. Expected I'd be scheduling him a week or two out, which would have been fine. But instead he said, "How about Wednesday?" (3) Jim has integrity. When he needed to replace an equipment part this morning before coming to my house, he called immediately to let me know, and he stayed as long as it took to get the carpets clean. He is also very obviously a good person. I've had some vendors in my home that I've felt I need to watch closely around personal items. It became quickly apparent that Jim wasn't anything like this. Though I didn't have to leave my home, I would have felt completely comfortable if I had. He is honest and fair and trustworthy, and you can't put a price tag on that in today's age. (4) Jim's rates are beyond reasonable. On the phone he gave me a quote based on what I told him was the sq. footage of carpet to be cleaned which was an amazing price. But he didn't know how bad they really were. When he came in this morning and did the walk-through, I was honest, and asked him if he thought he'd need to charge me more. He was hesitant, but said, "Well, maybe just a bit..." and then only raised his quote $35 more dollars. I watched him work so hard for four hours, upstairs, downstairs, and the stairs themselves, and knew that even that quote didn't match the quality of the job he'd done, so I added a bit more. And even then my final cost is still comparable to what I once paid Stanley Steamer a few years ago for much less carpet. I don't Yelp very often, but I would love to see Jim get people's business, and I know people would love the job he does. read more

Jim cleaned our office carpet after all the earthquake damage was repaired. He did such a good job, I asked him to clean the carpets in my home, which were pretty awful. A bottle of snail bait had burst in the garage during the earthquake and my husband walked in it and tracked it all over the living room! Jim got it all out and my carpet looks fantastic!
