Worse place ever Mechanic was going through personal problems and instead of calling off worked on my vehicle and messed it up. I had to return 3x to try and fix what he messed up. Manager just wants to act like everything is good and will be fixed but even after 3x giving them a chance to fix it they still didn't fix correctly. Shady business practices. Take your business elsewhere. I was quoted and paid for 3 items to be addressed after they did a thorough inspection of my car. Once it was time to pick up my car they told me that they did one additional repair and proceeded to charge me for it without ever discussing pricing or if I even wanted it done with them. He then said he could just switch it back out with the old part if I didn't want to pay. I would have taken him up on it if I wasn't already several hours late because they ran way past the quoted time. Side note: When I came to pick up my car, I realized they left the shop wide open unattended with all the keys hanging up in the front. No one came back for 15 minutes. read more

I'd love to comment on the quality of their work but I was never able to get that far with this place. After arriving at an empty front office for my scheduled appointment I saw or heard no one on the shop floor, I shouted out in an attempt to be heard and placed a phone call from the lobby that went unanswered. After approximately 15 minutes I walked out, apparently servicing customers isn't on the menu at this establishment. I do not recommend this business, if you need your car repaired there are far better options out there - shops that respect and value their customers, unfortunately, this palace isn't one of them. read more

My car was having problems, I took it here and they quoted me $900 to fix. when I got my car I barely made it home before the problem continued and leaked oil everywhere. also was told he fixed the issue but I was not able to reverse... so fixed one issue then left me with an even bigger issue. took it back and made me wait hours and hours.... I saw one of the mechani pull up a YouTube video on what he was doing.... just to get it back in worse shape than before. this place is a scam and the owner should be ashamed to call himself the owner. read more

I have been going to D and L for a couple of years now to basically work on my truck and always did an amazing job. I asked Andre (the owner) if they worked on BMW's considering I have a 98' 740 il which I always had it serviced and repaired at the dealer. Andre stated to me they do work on BMW and to bring it in whenever I had troubles with it. I couple months later I brought my Beamer (which is like my 57 chevy to me) to have some work done and Andre did an amazing job at half the cost Riverside BMW would charged me!! They completely fixed all leaks among other repairs and to be honest the car runs better then it did in many many years!! Great reliable work at great prices. I've been using D & L Auto for about 5-6 years now. Went there this morning to get a front-end alignment. Showed up at 7am without an appointment and was out in 45 minutes. That's pretty much how I always do it here. Show up when they first open. They work with some small company fleets so they have no problem understanding that some of us don't have all day for simple maintenance and repairs. They do a little of everything here and have alot of old-school knowledge that gets harder to find all the time. Plus, they try to stay up to date as much as possible. Nice, clean, organized shop. Always a good sign. I'd say their specialties are: Preventative Maintenance Tires Brakes Alignments - especially alignments. Larry really knows what he is doing and has the knowledge to work on lowered and lifted vehicles. Like I said though, they pretty much do it all. Just call and ask or stop by. read more

I spoke with Larry over the phone and got a quote to get my trsnsmission flushed and the filter and gasker changed on my car for thursday. Larry and the staff in the office were very friendly. The shop is clean and had a tv and complimentary coffee and tea. I waited over an hour longer than the estimated time due to my filter not being dropped off from the part store, as I was told and spent almost 3 hours plus to get the job done. On Saturday I was planning on making a trip out of town, so I moved my car and saw a transmission leak and immediately called the shop. They are closed on the weekends with no emergency contact info. I did not drive my car due to the fact that I wasn't sure why it would be leaking. I went and purchased additional transmission fluid to replace what I have lost as a precaution. I was without my vehicle all weekend. I will update soon. Update: I brought my vehicle back into the shop to check on the transmission leak which was promptly fixed and double checked. To make up for the mishap Larry changed my oil for free. He's the best. read more

After 10 or so years of being a loyal customer, I have to say the D & L will no longer be my mechanic of choice. I took my car in for one repair and was advised that I needed another issue taken care of. After spending almost $2500 dollars in repairs my car was still not fixed and the warning light on the first issue was still coming on. I was then told by Andre that I needed an additional $2700 dollars in repairs and that the warning light was now part of current issue. I picked up my car barely running and took to a different shop. Because my car was worse off than when I first took it to D & L, I requested Amex to dispute charges due to my vehicle not having been repaired. D and L, should have then contacted Amex and responded, instead Andre called me and threatened me with arrest if I did not pay. The next day I was called by the local police department and was informed that Andre was prepared to press charges and I would be charged with a felony if I did not pay. Being a law abiding citizen I paid D & L for their alleged services. If a customer for ten years is treated like this, dating back to when Larry was the owner, I would be afraid of the consequences for new customers. My advise, stay away from this shop, or you can be arrested if you have issues with them. read more

I actually Enjoy coming to D&L Auto Repair for the minor maintenance issues i have had with my 2004 Ford Crown Victoria because the work has always been solid. Larry is friendly and he knows what he is talking about. I came in today { 02/21/13 } to have the rear gasket changed along with the fluid in the rear end. Let me start with Viet was amazing!!!! I called and he was friendly over the phone and said that I can stop by and he would be able to help with my problem. 20 minutes later I arrived and he was on point tested the vehicle to see what was my issue. I was thinking it was a transmission problem and He could of easily agreed with me like other shops I called and told them the symptoms my car was doing and charge me hundreds if not thousands. Viet determine that it was not the transmission but a old hose that was making my car loose power, he even fix the problem right on the spot and told me since it was not a big deal it was on the house. I was like what!!! other shops where trying to charge me $150 + to just look at my car, Viet was amazing did a diagnostic and fix my problem and charge me $0 really $0 I know this might not happen a lot but this place made me feel like I was a VIP customer. I've been going to D&L since the 80's. Their shop is (and always has been) clean. Their service is fast. Their work is reliable. I recommend them to friends and acquaintances as often as I can. When I ask about the experience, I get positive feedback. In the past, I could show up at 7:00 am unannounced for oil changes and other service and get seen right away. Now they're so busy that appointments are recommended. This is yet another good sign. They have so much volume that they started using shop space in a building across from their garage entrance. Larry is flexible when it comes to procedure. For instance: When I need tires, I buy them online and have them shipped to D&L before I go for install and alignment. I get to avoid tire markup, get the best price on the product, and pay Larry, Danny, and crew for the work they actually do. If they can't do a particular job, they'll likely know someone that can and gladly refer. The only issue I can even remember happened in the 80's. A solenoid on a starter they installed went bad. It may have been months after the install. One phone call to them and a tow-truck was on the way at no charge. So it's not really an issue at all - just a detail of great customer service. Larry is a great business owner, he is honest, and does quality work. I called 3-4 different shops to get 4 struts replaced on my 01 Toyota Corolla around November 2013. Larry was able to do the job for $400+ cheaper than neighboring shops. He did the job quickly and even gave me a ride to my job in Corona while the repairs were being made. Added bonus was that I had a knuckle/spindle part that needed to be replaced and I had the part. Larry & his staff put it on for free since the car was already going to be dismantled in that area. My father took our cars here starting in the mid 80's- dealing with both Doug and Larry. I currently have them service my Jeep Rubicon and ZR-1 Corvette. I couldn't be happier with this garage. All the mechanics are first rate, but the only one that works on my cars is Thomas. If you want an honest mechanic that will only perform the work your car needs, D&L is the place to go. Edit- With Larry, Danny and Thomas gone I cannot keep my review at 5 stars as they were the main reason the business was successful. I may bring my Jeep in for an oil change to see firsthand if things are as bad as I've heard. Took my truck in for some basic work, oil change, plugs, maybe brakes, etc. Vet, the mechanic, who went over the initial repair work was very thougher and said he would check plugs, breaks, etc to verify the work that needed to be done. Every thing he checked for me needed replaced as I suspected. When I picked up my truck, Vet showed me all the old parts and went over the bill. Best quality parts were used! My only issues with the shop were the grease marks that were left on the left and right fenders next to the hood. Grease on the steering wheel, on the driver's and passenger's seat. The spring pot to assist the glove compartment opening was not connected, after replacing the cabin filter. Although my truck is somewhat of a work truck the grease issue should never happen and especially on a high end automobile. read more
