They're known for their extensive (--VERY EXTENSIVE--) RC Hobby equipment and supplies.... And that's what I came for. Came in looking for things that I thought I could only find online upgrade parts for Arrma Mojave Grom and Granite Grom. Was looking for different covers and axle rods. They had what I was looking for! Also, saw a ton of aftermarket parts for ALL scales of Rock Crawlers, and the cars to g with them... I stared at one of them too long, and the sales-tech shoved the crawler in my hand and ushered me over to the rock crawl stage, in the middle of the store... I had a blast! Prior to my experience with this rock crawler, I had my research set on a different type... the hands-on experience helped me make a great choice. I picked one up a week later, for my grandkids. (Today) I saw and perused a LOT... yes, transmitters, receivers, planes, trains, automobiles...dolls, bears, think toys, frisbees, electronic and steam hobby... and even more Toy Hobby, not just crafts... Toy Hobby. I haven't seen such variety of beginner/intermediate/advanced electronic and toy hobby in one place. This. Place. Has. It. ALL. If you don't have a hobby going in, you can definitely leave with one, or two. Well worth the visit to get your hands, and set eyes on the hobby you're looking into!

They even had some vintage Star Wars stuff which I was excited about. I will most definitely be back. The staff were very nice and helpful. Prices were reasonable and they have such a huge variety of things there's pretty much something for everyone.

My favorite Game store in Sacramento…read more It contains a large catalog of card, board, strategy and miniature games that will appeal to a casual laymen, a beginner, or the serious die hard enthusiast. There are 2 parts to this large store, the showroom area with all the games, miniatures for your perusing and purchasing pleasure. The staff are all friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in recommending a game you may like, or answering inquiries into availability or ordering a game they may not have in stock. The 2d part is large game room that is stocked with games you can test out, or just come in with your friends, or meet new friends and try them out. They publish a monthly schedule of tournaments, contests, or just open game playing. On this occaision, I came to one of the Semi Annual flea market bazaars, where anyone could sign up, for a small fee , get a space to sell their older games , or maybe crafts. There is No fee to be a shopper st the bazaar, so you can find some good deals on games, miniatures, cards, books, terrain, storage or dice. I scored a Zombicide game that was unpunched at a great price for my son & I to play. All in all, just a great store for any game enthusiast of every age from beginners to the hard core gamer.

Truthfully, I really don't think we have anything down there that compares to the size, selection, and value at Great Escape. This place was awesome! There's just so much to look at! Friendly customer service, great choice selection of games and tools, and if you sign up for their rewards at the register you get $2 off. I'm a new 40k enthusiast and really enjoyed hanging around here. The staff are very friendly and knowledgable. Their prices are reasonable and if you're someone who's interested in painting miniatures and all- definitely give this place a shot. They have everything you need here... you've got plenty of options. It's a pretty big establishment, the only weird thing is that it's hidden tucked away on the backside of the building. I went on a Saturday afternoon and really enjoyed it! I'm looking forward to exploring more of Sac's gaming scene.

If you value your time and money, think twice before coming here to sell. In the past I've sold at…read morethe Folsom location, where I've had good experiences, but decided to try the Elk Grove location today and had a terrible experience. I called ahead to make sure they were actively buying and to gauge interest before taking the time to load everything up and make the drive over. The employee assured me I would not have any issues and to just come on by. Upon arrival the first employee was friendly, polite, and helpful. I explained that I was there to sell and had also brought in several LEGO collectors items that I planned to include as part of the deal at no extra cost, as a show of good faith. I had brought in roughly a dozen sets worth several hundred dollars to sell so it took around 20 minutes to perform the appraisal, but once done he gave me a price and explained the evaluation of each set. Whenever I sell at a store I expect to sell for much less than I do when I sell direct to consumer myself, but I'm willing to make that trade-off for the convenience of dealing in person and in bulk; however, the prices I was offered here ranged from low to outright laughable (up to 60% less than historical sales values online). While the prices were bad I was still willing to make a sale in order to save myself time. I asked for additional details about their evaluations, which the employee happily provided, and told them I wanted to take a few minutes to review the offer and perform due diligence before deciding how I wanted to proceed. It was at this point that things went from bad to worse. As I was reviewing the numbers, another employee came out from the back and immediately started making comments (ostensibly to his coworker, but very much audible to me) about how the first employee had offered too much on set X, that set Y wouldn't sell for very much, that they had too many of set Z, etc. After a minute or two of that, the first employee went on break. The second employee then proceeded to start asking me questions that made me feel pressured, like if I was ready or what I was looking up. I started to feel uncomfortable and asked if I was holding him up or anything, as he seemed annoyed, but he reassured me that they were open for several more hours and that I could take my time. I went back to looking up information online and a moment later the second employee said that he was rescinding the offer and that they were no longer interested in buying anything. This totally took me by surprise, as at this point I had not even made a single comment about their offer or attempted to negotiate -- I had just been asking questions and looking up information. It was abundantly clear to me that the employee was attempting to pressure me into accepting a bad deal, so I knew I should cut my losses and leave. Out of curiosity I asked why they had changed their mind. The employee said that they had a warehouse full of such sets and that they didn't need more. If that was the case, they could have told me so on the phone when I initially called to find out as much. He then made one more offer (for $100 less than the already bad initial offer), which I declined and left. The whole experience felt like a bait-and-switch -- get you in the store, then pressure you into accepting a lowball offer. I'd recommend the Folsom location or perhaps the new Bricks and Minifigs instead if you're looking to sell.

My wife went there with my son to take senior portraits today and lo and behold, their car was towed when they were done with their session. Was there a sign in the parking lot? Yes. But my wife assumed that the parking lot was a common area (yes, I pay triple net for my store) since this place was in the same building as the photography studio. Again, I'm a business owner myself and our parking lot gets overrun by customers from the next strip mall, but I would never in a million years to tow their cars because word spreads and it's not good for business. And to be clear, their parking lot was only being occupied by the workers and my wife's car at the time of the "offense". Downtown Roseville has been dying for the past decade and no one was exactly fighting for parking space when I pulled up to pick up my wife to drive her to the tow yard. Why five stars? Because I know how tough is for stores like this where retail is dying and everyone's running to Amazon. I can't imagine more than 10 people walked into this store today to make a purchase, and I feel bad for business owners like him. However, screwing over locals is no way to grow their business, especially when their last review was a year ago with where they towed their own customers car. Good luck and stop being mad at the world.
