Cobbs was a great dining experience! Ate outdoors on Friday night with a group and Karly as our server. She was accommodating and bubbly. The food was delish too, the chicken fries are a must try. I personally had the Popeyes with an impossible patty which was undistinguishable from meat. Definitely will come back to try the bison and turkey Pattie's as well. We ate outside on the patio while there was a DJ indoors jamming out. The walls have influential figures like Anthony bourdain painted onto them and the bathrooms were rustic in design. The food here has been good but the service from the bartenders has been awful on several occasions. I've come with just a girlfriend, we sat at the bar directly in the line of sight of the bartender whenever she's at the computer and it was on a weekday before dinner time. There were two other couples at the bar beside us and it was like we couldn't get service because she was talking with her coworker more than doing her job. We tried the bar area again last night, we came with another couple, they ordered an appetizer and two burgers, we shared wings for our meal. Our drinks were almost always empty and I want to point out that the only guy behind the bar who wasn't even our original 'server' was kind enough to check on us. Our original bartender didn't check on us once food was served which is kind of standard etiquette to see if everything came out ok, we sat without silverware staring at food we couldn't eat for a bit. The food runner brought our wings to us that had no sauce and when we expressed the error to her, instead of taking the food back to be fixed, she talked to another server for a minute while we watched waiting. I get that people are new and we've had plenty of new servers serve us, and are understanding that experience and training play a part, but I don't understand if you're a bartender, you smile at the people sitting at the bar who all have empty glasses, and then walk away. No we weren't your original guests but at least see how things are or if we need anything. It was 8/8:30 the building was properly if not over staffed. Just asking to receive the same service the workers would expect if they were the guest. We want to like this place but man, what a letdown. read more

Security is on a power trip here. Accidentally went out the wrong exit door to take a break from the music and was not allowed to re-enter. Offered to pay the cover even though my friends and I arrived to the bar before cover charges started, and instead we were kicked out into the rain with 6 brand new drinks sitting at our table. Not good at all. Sat forever, had to ask to be waited on. Others around us had food way before us, when it arrived it was awful cause it probably sat around so long waiting to be brought out...one bite and we were done. If your that short handed don't open! Went on a Saturday night for the glow event and the dj sucked. Not sure if it was a resident dj type thing or if dj dale was there for the event but I'd say he was the only person having a good time for just about his entire set. Tried to get some dinner but apparently this is a nightclub. I was wearing sweatpants and the manager said, and I quote, "this is f****** reta****" and told us to leave. We finally had the chance to try them out. Our server Mackenzie was fantastic! They have Blake's Blueberry Lemonade Cider on tap! My husband's Margarita was very small(rocks glass) and $10 it was tasty. We started with Siracha honey wings which were delicious! My Husband had a Reuben and Mac & cheese and I had Italian beef wrap with Parm truffle fries. Everything was fantastic! One negative, not a deal breaker at all. We just had dinner and I am very impressed. Our server was outstanding. My burger came out a little under cooked she came and took it right back. When it came out it was perfect the whole plate was new and my fries were hot and that is a pet peeve of mine, hot fries are a must. We ordered the lava cake and one of the best we have had in a long time cake hot ice cream cold. Look, it's all about management and keeping the staff on top of the little things like leaving used dirty plates on the bar, or cleaning the piss off the men's room floor. Cool vibe of this place with outdoor seating out front and on the roof (but the roof was closed when we were there, unfortunately). The tacos were great as were the cocktails. My sister got the sweet potato fries and the dip that came with it was this amazing buttery sweet goodness. I am updating my review. Tried again recently and the service was very, very good. Huge improvement. Host staff still seems inexperienced and unprofessional. We asked to be seated upstairs on the outside patio. Hostess said that 'it's open but we don't want to overwhelm the server'. Weird response. 'Ok, we will take anywhere outside.' Looked around (numerous open tables), then consulted another co-worker and then declared that they COULD seat us upstairs. Needless to say after last time we were concerned about our potentially 'overwhelmed' server. Isabel C. was anything but. Immediately took a drink order and promptly delivered it, plus water. We had a coupon and she was also helpful with that. Took our order and we received our food in a prompt timeframe. Back to one of my former complaints. The food comes with no silverware?! The runner dropped and ran so we couldn't ask, but Isabel took care of it right away. Why is that their policy? I know it's a burger place but you can get various sides (I had a salad again) and some people like to cut their burger in half, like the lady next to us that had to wait for a knife. It's silverware - just put it on the table. I ordered a pepper Jack cheeseburger. Burger was great again, perfectly cooked to order. Disappointed that at the price point it didn't come with lettuce, tomato or onion. My balsamic dressing on the salad was pretty bad, very runny, maybe it was diet dressing or something? Husband had one of their combination burgers and fries and was happy with it. I will say the burgers and cookery are good. They are improving, but have some work. Three of us came and got sat right away on a Saturday night and our server greeted us with a smile. Menu is huge so she confidently walked us through and gave awesome recommendations. Was so kind and conversational. We got the dc Cobb, and Thunder and a build your own all bison burger and 2 3 Floyd's. The popcorn elote appetizer was the best popcorn we've ever had. There are so many things messed up here, not even Robert Irvine and Jon Taffer could pull this together! While I understand this location is new, there is no excuse of the lack of quality in this place. The beer was cold and the bartender was fairly attentive, but that's where the positives stop. The venue feels cobbled together with odd booths, strange murals, and what appears to be the beginning of a dance club -- I see a place that will fail due to a lack of real identity. The only redeeming quality of the venue is their patio, but based on everything else I saw, I bet they screw that up too. The food was PISS POOR. The "Adult Grilled Cheese" felt like it was two pieces bread thrown in a toaster, then had some cheese, a slice of bacon and a tomato slapped together and then microwaved to melt. After reflecting on that order, I am actually upset I ate something so grossly prepared. Similar feelings had but the others in our party. There are SO many better options within walking distance of this place. Save your time/money and go elsewhere. read more

Have eaten here twice, found both experiences pleasant. Place was clean, the staff friendly and informative on food and drinks. Our party ordered various food items on the menu, with hamburgers being the prime focus. Liked the fact you could pick your protein (two types of ground beef) chicken and vegan. Your type of bun or wrap, you create a burger exactly to your liking. Many sides to go with sandwich. Many in our party LOVED the Parmesan truffle fries... wonderful. We tried this place on a Sunday afternoon. Staff was super friendly but seemed really inexperienced. Had to repeat my drink order three times (place was empty) and it was wrong when i got it (bacardi and club soda) Furthermore I was never asked if i wanted another after i finished it. Eventually we got the check because getting another drink seemed unlikely. Bartender was busy eating her lunch pretty much right in front of us. Food is VERY expensive for what it is. We had bison burgers which rang in at around $21 EACH which is just too pricey for a burger and fries, which as a meal was unremarkable. A overall large and nice looking busy bar. This place has plenty of seating and a extended menu and always seems to be pretty popular and crowded. Food was terrible. Came out cold. Ordered appetizers and they came out AFTER our food order. The bartender ended up giving us our drinks for free (we ordered a combination of 10 drinks) because the kitchen was so backed up and couldn't get food out. Another funny story... one bartender served an underage customer and it ended up being someone the police purposely sent in to see if they'd serve him. They did serve him. The police came right up next to me and told me the story of what's going on. It was a shit show. I'm sure they do well, but this particular night was bad. Hopefully they can get their act together soon. I like DC Cobbs and the Woodstock and mchenry locations definitely do better and are better staffed. I felt bad. We just visited for my husband's birthday. The bison burger was over cooked and the bun was hard. This is my second visit. The first visit was great. The noise level was out of this world. The place wasn't crowded for a Sunday. They did inform us they only had two cooks. The server had to be reminded to bring silverware and plates for the appetizer. But the worst was the barmaid. She was rude from the start. My husband went up to the bar to inquire about the dark beers at hand. She actually instructed him to wait for his server to inform him. And he inquired if it would be possible to try the flight of dark beer. She again instructed him to return to his table. She wasn't busy serving others. She reluctantly allow him to test the flight. Best restaurant in town! Great food selection, friendly staff, and a wonderful atmosphere. As my wife's son likes to say, the "vibes" are immaculate. I love the place but sadly my wife of five years doesn't share my enthusiasm for it, so unfortunately the only time I can visit is when she goes out at night with her other guy friends. Luckily for me, she's usually gone til the next morning, which means I get to treat myself to some DC Cobbs all night long! You can't beat that! read more

We had a great time at DC Cobb. It was our first time here and I came with family. Overall great atmosphere, although the music was a little loud. Food was very good, although wait times were a bit longer than expected. Also a little pricey. Our server, Annalise (I believe that is her name, she had to tell us multiple times in order for my parents to understand it) was great and made sure we were set with refills while waiting for food. She helped us pick out our food from the HUGE menu, as we were a little overwhelmed, and she spoke through her college experience with my little brother that will now be going into college. Was a little concerned, though, with the lack of work from other employees. Many were congregating outside near the hostess area and seemed to be ignoring tables or just did not have enough work to complete. Overall good experience and we will definitely be going back. read more
