He quickly learned everyone's drink, preferences, and anytime the drinks were getting low. He would ask if we were ready for another and was very friendly and personable, and always had a smile on his face. He was flawless in his execution of serving such a large party. I highly recommend sturdy shelter because of Ben. The sturdy shelter has a really nice private room upstairs as well as plenty of space and they also have a really nice outdoor patio overlooking the river.

The on tap beer menu is small, but delicious. Had two local Chicago microbreweries (Maplewood and Dovetail - NEIPA and Pils, as well as Missouri's Narrow Gauge Brewery - Wild Idaho Jorts). Beers were so good, now need to go and search out these breweries in the flesh. Best tho was their a small Spanish-inspired Tapas menu...husband had bourbon pork belly solomillo with fries and I had montaditos (jamon, salami, honey goat cheese and arugula with fig dip on tiny pan shaped torta bread) with chips. What an outstanding and unexpected delight. Fresh and tasty. Friendly service and a live music guitarist all on a Sat. night. Great place to catch the world cup too. Will be back!

On this coldish Wednesday winter evening, it wasn't as busy and boisterous as our previous visits, and that was just fine for our usual catchup party of 3.  Sam was our fine and attentive server and she adequately took care of the whole dining room on this night. Arriving at 5:30pm, we took advantage of Happy Hour and had 6 beers by 6pm for $5 each.  We also had a cheese curds appetizer for $10 (discounted from regular $12). I had my usual 3 beers for our catchup session, namely: - Moreover hazy IPA, 6.5% ABV - Mango Double Marbles Imperial IPA, 8.0% ABV - Appetizer hazy IPA, 5.5% ABV For food, I had their chicken tikka masala platter for $22.  My colleagues had a high steak sandwich with salad ($20), and an Italian Beef with fries ($18).  All were delicious.  There is now a 3% credit card fee.  Overall, still one of the best Chicagoland brewpubs around.

The prices are pretty okay on most things. Came in here recently and we got a few beers. It's about $8 a pint. There's stronger ones that are more expensive but still not that much though. Best one I tried was the Jam Session: Strawberry-Peach Crumble. This is a sour, a Berliner Weisse. Had a pretty good sweetness to it. The other one that was a favorite was the Galaxy 503, an IPA that's not too hoppy and has a sweet taste. Also they have mead and smoothies if you want something besides beer. The beer is good but there's a lot more. Has a pretty cool atmosphere. It only has beer and mead so there's no food menu. There sometimes will be food trucks on weekends.

I followed that up with Melodious Maibock and ordered the CBG burger with fries. I didn't have lunch so I dove right in and forgot to snap a photo. It was a very good smash burger. It was cooked well and I really liked the combination of pickled onion and caramelized onion. I didn't see it until later but you can add bacon. As much as I loved this burger, bacon would totally take it up a notch! I started chatting with the bartender about their different beers and decided to have the Super Melodious Jalapeño Maibock with the burger. It's soooo different, but in a good way. It paired so well with the burger. You get green bell pepper on the nose and a hint of it on the palate. When you swallow you get a little heat at the back of the throat. It was so good! Great bar. Not sure what was going on with the system they had going for the patio this most recent visit, but it was bad. I think the management needs to reevaluate whatever they had going on. They do not have a host, so customers basically just go up to the patio and sit wherever they want, which is nice only if the restaurant can handle that. No one was cleaning the tables after customers left. I watched about 4 groups of people sit down at dirty tables, and they sat there for like 15-20 minutes with no acknowledgement and no one coming to clean the dirty tables from the previous customers. They had to get up and ask someone themselves for the table to be cleaned. There were maybe 2 or 3 waiters and maybe 2 or 3 food runners, and it still seemed like they were all overwhelmed. I don't think it should have been as complicated. Not sure who even was our waiter because they kept switching. One runner kept bringing food and drinks to wrong tables, and claimed she was confused because they changed up the patio seating so maybe that had something to do with it.
