I was in town for a funeral and ended up eating here two nights in a row. The first night, I had the wedge salad. It came with a lot of lettuce. It was okay but I feel like I need to stick with chopped wedges only going forward. The second night, they were able to accommodate a large group of us on short notice after the wake so I am thankful for that. We have frequented DC Cobb's for years in Woodstock. They recently opened in our hometown of Huntley and we couldn't be more excited! During different seasons they create new drinks, appetizers and meal options which compliments each other. Their menu has many options including types of protein you would prefer on burgers. IE: Grass or Corn-fed Beef, Chicken, Turkey, Bison, Bean Their bartenders and servers are attentive, give great recommendations and are friendly. And the location is perfect. They took our old firehouse, kept the original garage doors and created an atmosphere all would love. We can't wait to use their new outdoor space. Wow! Food was great, ambiance was great, but blown away when I paid $13 for Pretzel Sticks and they brought 3, 6 inch pegs. $20 for burger and salad (charged $5 for salad as a replacement for Fries). Then after the $90 bill (3 hamburgers, 2 modest drinks and an appetizer, I was spent. Food was good so price did not kill me, but they refused to give me a military discount (retired Army); but the pretzel sticks appetizer blew me away...I won't be back! read more

Stopped by for lunch on a Sunday with a group of four. We were seated quickly and our server was really friendly and gave us recommendations. I was a little bummed the strawberry rhubarb marg was sold out, so looking forward to coming back to try it another time. All of us enjoyed our food - I let the server pick my turkey burger, 10/10 recommend the Thunder it was awesome. So excited to have DC Cobb's in downtown Huntley. Have been there a few times now and wanted to post my review. Excellent variety of food on the menu, anyone can find something that tickles their fancy. Fantastic burgers and fries are usually my go to but have not really had anything I didn't enjoy there. If I had to point out one negative, hence the 4 stars and not 5, would be overall cost. Appetizers are pretty pricey and so are the meals. We tend to not order an appetizer here as it is just not very budget friendly. Most restaurants tend to keep the apps moderately priced as they are a snack before the meal. Other than that, excellent food, great service, and cool atmosphere make this a great place to check out of you are in the area. read more

This was my first time at DC Cobbs in Huntley or anywhere for that fact. When the boss, father, aunt and I walked in we stood for a brief moment at the entrance before the bartender told us to take a seat anywhere. My dad picked a table which appeared to be a bit small for 4 adults but the tables were all the same size. The waitress, G, was very polite and smiled a lot. Our drink order was placed and deposited at the table quickly followed by her taking our order. I split the Hurricane burger with the boss, my aunt got the DC Cobb burger no bun, and dad did the half sandwich and soup. The fries were my favorite type of restaurant fries and the burgers were average. My aunt forgot to ask for no cheese so when she scrapped the cheese off, most of the bbq went with it. She order more bbq to the cost of a whopping $.50 for 2 oz.(This beats dollars in a previous post). The 3 fountain drink Cokes were over $3 a piece with only 1 refill(our fault we should have asked for some to go). The Hurricane burger split between the 2 of us, was cooked properly with, and average (non McDonald) taste. Usually I only eat a half of burger when I go out so I thought this would make me full. However, I could have consumed the whole burger myself and probably some dessert. My dad said that his burger was fair and the soup had good taste but it was only warm and not a good temperature. He left a comment card saying that. No other complaints. I expected more based on what I have heard from friends and the way my dad was talking about the place. D.C. Cobb's - And I won lol - Burgers Near Me - Huntley, Illinois

Sadly this place had so much potential when we saw the menu. They cut too many corners and just went cheap/simple. My cheese curds seemed like they were out of a bag with a cup of ranch on the side. Go hand dipped with a house made marinara. My burger said it had a truffle cheese and it had zero truffle flavor. The burger lacked much flavor over all. Another in our group had a chicken bowl of some kind and the chicken was completely dry. Dish also lacked flavor. My wife's meal came with tater tots, also out of a bag. Something house made (loaded tot of some kind) could have gone a long way. Everyone in our group was excited to try this place and walked away highly disappointed. Also presentation was really lacking as well. Just food tossed on a plate. Something so simple to get right. The menu looks good. They just need to elevate their game significantly. I haven't been to their other location to compare. Hopefully they can up their game and be something special. Till then I won't be back. I would compare this restaurant to a Red Robin's or TGIF. read more

UPDATE TO REVIEW: FOOD POISONING Just found out a person who ate with us last night has food poisoning. ------ ORIGINAL REVIEW: If they don't step up the service and food - this site is not going to make it. Our order was wrong and the waitress never came back to offer us drink refills. The young inexperienced staff spends their time with each other - we had to go grab our own napkins after multiple requests were ignored. I went here a few weeks back and the service was better as was the food. I would have rated this restaurant a 1 for the food and service tonight but it was a solid 3 or 4 for my last visit so giving them 2 stars. Menu is varied. Restaurant is new so it is attractive. Please get it together - Huntley needs some more decent dining options. Thought about not writing a review because I hate to pan a restaurant - but having one 5 star review is misleading. read more

Worst service I have ever experienced. It took our server at least 10 minutes to even greet us or ask if we wanted anything to drink. At that time, we asked for an appetizer and our drinks. We somehow got our appetizer before we even got our drinks. Once she brought us our drinks, we ordered our food. Our food took forever. Other people that were seated much after us got their food first. Our waitress never cleared our finished drinks or plates or ever asked if we needed new drinks or anything. Another guy brought us our food and asked if we needed something. My husband ordered a beer, meanwhile our waitress was just chit chatting at the table near us. Then we discovered our fish fry was overcooked and had barely any meat on it. Another employee brought over the beer and we explained the situation. The waitress finally came over and seemed confused why the other employee was bringing a drink to us.( because she never checked on us. )The manager was nice at least and apologized but definitely will never go there again. Let's start at the beginning, years ago my wife and I went to DC Cobb's in Woodstock and what we remember is; we had an amazing time, with delicious food and great service. We decided to try the freshly built DC Cobb's in Huntley with my Wife our 2 kids (15 and 4). Let's cut to the chase here because I ALWAYS exceed character limits on these things. We started with 2 appetizers which were the mozzarella wedges and the nachos. mozzarella wedges were not bad. I liked the wedge shape and the dipping sauces were pretty good. We all liked them. The nachos, about 1/4 of the way through, my wife noticed that the ground beef was raw. There were chunks of ground beef that looked as though they were cooked on the outside but opening them up it was raw ground beef. Not undercooked, it was straight raw meat. We told the waitress and she was happy to take them back and get another order of nachos. The second round of nachos were made so much better as we noticed it was nice hot ground beef and not cold uncooked meat. Well as any human would think; you made things right, but now I am starting to be skeptical and think that my families hunger and my money is not in the most deserving restaurant. onto the main course: My wife and myself, ordered the exact same thing. Lobster rolls with fries my 15 year old son got the Cobb's BLT sandwich and my 4 year old got the grilled cheese and french fries. The lobster rolls were ok, BUT (there is a but there) My wife and I have no lobster roll experience, and have nothing to compare it to. So we will breeze past that and say that is completely on us that we didnt enjoy them too much. Hey, maybe we arent lobster roll people. That's not DC Cobbs fault. Cobb's BLT sandwitch might as well have been called the Butternut bread "I dont have time to make dinner" BLT. There is nothing signature about this sandwich that I could have done better on at home with Oscar Meyer bacon that I see in a Jewel ad, smashed between 2 pieces of white bread that seemed to be taken from my own pantry. For $13.88 it was an absolute insult to my wallet and my intelligence that they could serve something that cheap looking, that whipped together. It seriously looked like I pulled it out of my pocket from home and put it on their plate. You go out to restaurants to be away from the norm of the stuff you make, you go to restaurants to have someone that is a better cook than you are at home. To take you away to their idea of flavor town. This was not it. It was a mockery of what a BLT should look and taste like in a Restaurant. OH THE GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH!!!! So my wife and I are already feeling stupid, we are feeling like we have wasted our money, have been ripped off, you know that feeling exactly, that feeling of disappointment. So as anyone would, I started inspecting the grilled cheese sandwich; pulled the pieces of bread apart only to find what appeared to be a kraft single. On top of it being a prepacked piece of bottom tier cheese, I found that they only used about a SINGLE KRAFT SINGLE. YES ONE PIECE OF HALF MELTED CHEESE! AGAIN, I could of made this at home and yeah, ill put my grilled cheese up against this persons grilled cheese any day of the week. My grilled cheese at home is made with DELI CHEESE, not a Kraft single. My grilled cheese stretches when you pull it apart, the cheese is so melty and liquidy that you almost have to drink the cheese between my two pieces of bread. This cheese what 20% melted at best. That was the final nail in the coffin for me. What we experienced at the Woodstock location although years ago, was 100 times better than what it was in the new location. I might come back someday just to see if this place can prove me wrong. Its so close to the house, It was a nice restaurant to be in. But the food was dare I say it, aweful.... it was an insult to my wallet, my couple hours of time I gave up at work, to pay for this meal. When we told the manager, she was very nice and took 30 dollars off the bill. Multiple complaints, and we got 30 bucks off and it was still 70 dollars. 30 dollars off and we still feel ripped off. Do so much better, people arent idiots... They can smell bull**** even when you say its roses.... read more

The bartenders and the servers are all absolutely amazing. They are very quick with service, friendly, and the food is great. The chicken bacon ranch quesadilla is the best quesadilla I have ever tasted. The ambiance is great, very relaxed and enjoyed the vibe they have there. This is a great place to go with family, a group of friends, or if you just need a good drink at the end of a long day. The bartenders are very friendly, charismatic and knowledgeable on their drink menu. They have amazing specialty drinks that change often. One drink even has smoke coming off it just like a campfire it is so cool. Would definitely recommend to anyone for any occasion. read more

Five of us tried this new place in Huntley and I think it is fair to say that we all enjoyed our meals. The menu is very comprehensive and the prices are reasonable if a little bit high. Everyone pretty much cleaned their plates and I can say that my burger was one of the best I've ever eaten; there is still some more construction work going on but the restaurant is already large and comfortable. The service was also attentive and efficient. This restaurant is good now and promises to get even better! We're definitely going to be back! read more

We went to Cobb's for the 1st time to try out the Friday fish fry. It was 3pm on a Friday. The hostess seated us in the backroom, her decision, to avoid the loud restaurant, she said. The music in the backroom is a tolerable level. But, it sounded like rap music, which is not dining music. It was annoying super-fast lyrics, almost like rap music. But whatever. My husband and I each ordered a flight of beer. A flight is 4 mini-beers for $15.00. Sadly, the waitress served my flight to my husband, and I got his flight. He started drinking my selection, and I drank his selection. We noticed the problem half-way through. Ugh. We like different beers and ordered different selections, we felt so disappointed. Also, I would never order beer at Cobb's again. It wasn't cold. It was almost warm, it certainly was not beer "cold". The dinner: The fish was greasy and somewhat under cooked. Lastly, we asked our waitress if the restaurant charged a credit card transaction fee. She replied no, but that her tip would be reduced by the amount of a transaction fee. We decided to use our credit card for the meal payment, and we left cash on the table to cover her tip. Also, we scanned the QR code to our mobile phones during dinner. The Huntley location is not in the selection list. read more
