The food at D'Elia's is always right on. The bread is the best! The people who work there are always so friendly and patient. I really enjoy going there. I placed a phone order and was at the university location had to call Van Buren to let them know I wouldn't be there for my order cause I ordered at wrong location the girl was so kind and understanding I felt horrible and she reassured me it was ok mistakes happen. I've been coming to Delia's since the '80s on University. Today I got a sicilian sandwich. The Sandwich was nothing but meat and lettuce. No tomatoes, onions or pepperoncinis. Not even cheese. Food is Absolutely terrible. My pastrami meat was brown and oily with no flavor. The oil from the meat made the sandwich soggy. Pickles were fresh and crunchy but that's about it. Ordered Cheeseburger and grilled cheese for the kids. The grilled cheese was regular white bread and Kraft cheese, I think I expected maybe French bread and real cheddar. The cheeseburger was something you'd get in a school/hospital cafeteria. French fries were good. The young lady at the front was polite and two young guys making the food were working fast so service was fine. The establishment itself was quite dirty with sticky floors and dirty tables. Pretty pricey and food really was undesirable, definitely will not return. I would not even eat that food for free. read more
