I found out about D'Elia's while working for a produce company who delivered their produce back in 2015. Needless to say, their sandwiches were delicious and their bread fresh! I wish I was writing this review to speak of my past experiences. On 4/1/23 my wife and 2 daughters and I drove from 23 miles from North Fontana to specifically get D'Elia's. At 7:05 we ordered 3 half sandwiches, 2 whole sandwiches, one of them with extra roast beef , 2 macaroni, 1 potato, and 1 pasta salads, and a side of oil to go. The total came to $78.76. At 7:35, I heard one of the employees ask the counter in the back if someone was working on "Joe's" order. All of a sudden, that person in the back started scrambling and looked like they were just starting our order. At this time, everyone who ordered after us was finished eating their food and were leaving. I then walked up and asked if my order was ready, I was ignored and the girl continued to do her closing work. At 7:42 I received a text that my order was ready. I was handed 2 bags and was told to have a good night. As I double checked the order, I was missing my salads, and oil. At this point I calmly and politely asked to speak to a manager. Another 10 minutes went by before a young lady in a polo came to talk to me. I expressed my frustration and at the same time I wasn't asking for a discount, or refund. I just wanted to make her aware of how long we waited, what we were missing, and how far we drove just to get food. The young lady apologized, asked for my phone number, and what she can do to make up for everything. I just reiterated how far we drove to specifically eat here, how much we spent, and the type of service we received, then wished her a good evening. As we all know how expensive everything is these days, and how service everywhere isn't what it used to be. We value the ones that have always been memorable. It has been a couple years since we've been here and this is what we get home to. We open up or sandwiches and find 1 piece of meat for a half, and a couple pieces of roast beef when I ordered extra meat! Please see the pics attached. This is the last time we will be choosing D'Elias for our weekend food adventure. I would give ZERO stars if it was an option. The owners should be very concerned about what goes on after they leave from baking the bread every morning. read more

If you like bland sandwiches on stale, crusty bread go here. Super disappointed after spending $35 on two foot-long sandwiches. What's even more crazy is that the place was busy. It's literally crusty stale hard French bread and zero flavor. Try going to another sandwich shop there are plenty in the area. read more

It really gets old when you order extra fixings on your grinders and you don't receive them. The grinder is good without the extra fixings, but I just don't have the extra money to just throw at it and I leave a tip every time. Shame on me maybe you folks have better luck read more

My first time at D'Elia's in years. I was very pleased. Quick, excellent service. Very nice waitress. They have decades of experience making grinders and it shows up in the nearly perfect balance of ingredients . The bread is the star, crunchy crust and soft interior, with just the right amount of meat. The tomatoes, chopped lettuce and a squirt of olive oil added just the right amount of moisture. Another half slice of cheese would be perfect. In all, the half sandwiches, take out, were tasty and plentiful. It would've been nice to add a thin spread of mustard or mayonnaise to the bread for extra flavor. I should also have requested a side of pepperoncini. Or dill pickle for tartness. Definitely a place to go back to and try out more items. The menu is pretty big and the variety is enticing. read more

I was craving a sub all day long and remembered this place but boy the sandwich wasn't much better than out of a vending machine. $18 for roast beef sandwich that l couldn't even taste the roast beef just tasted lettuce and pickles and mayo, even though they added provolone and American cheese on it The bun I liked. The most amazing fresh, light crispy baked bread ever. The soybean oil tops off the sandwiches. There are so many meats and cheeses to choose from it's hard to choose. Their French fries are delicious too. Family-owned with their signature delicious grinder. Our family has been coming here since they opened. read more

Been coming here since 1963. My mom had to have a ham grinder while she was pregnant with me. And when I was pregnant with both my boys I would drive 39 minutes just to have half of a ham grinder and half a meatball grinder. Still my favorite grinder after 60 years. read more

I'm out traveling for work and needed something quick in the way back to the hotel. A nice sandwich shop is hard to do poorly so let's give it a go. Not super busy but the three people behind the counter were more focused on shooting baskets of receipts into the trash playing NBA than taking orders. Whatever I get it I've worked fast food no biggie. I ordered a Sicilian add peppers and spicy mustard. About 10 minutes go past my buzzer goes off grab my wich and head out to the hotel. I get back unwrap my sandwich. Visually it's an 8. It's big lots of meat I'm intrigued. Pick it up and my intrigue starts to fade...it's crispy almost hard. Take a bite and it was like biting styrofoam. The bread was stale and crusty felt 3 days old. No this wasn't toasted was supposed to a cold sub on soft bread. I choked through the dry bread and actually had to take the bottom layer of bread off to make it bearable. Maybe I got a bad batch. The meat and toppings were good, but a bad bun ruins a sandwich. I just got my sandwich after waiting an hour and a half. I ordered It with avocado, extra meat and extra cheese. It was $16.00 and has 2 small slices of turkey, 2 small pieces of cheese and a sliver of avocado. It's missing ingredients and they forgot the potato salad with the order. Save your money. read more

The staff here are very unprofessional and do not care. They're literally there just to hangout and collect their check. It's really awkward. The sandwiches are good but they're not good when you gotta wait 30 minutes for them to even start your order in an empty place. The cashier was really nice. He had to step in and make the fries we ordered. I kid you not there were 9 kids chilling in the back talking to each other while waiting for some fries that weren't even started yet. A little embarrassing. This chain needs to do better when charging prices like that. read more

This was my first time as an adult, ordering, and a place that was very nostalgic for me, so sharing it with my kids with something I had to cross off my bucket list the food itself is good however, you have to order it in person the service itself could use some work because they definitely didn't take as good care as I would've liked or I had remembered maybe it's just me but back in the day it felt like the environment was just right but you already know when you're a kid things always feel like so amazing especially when you're getting exactly what you want. All in all the sandwiches still were very good. They just needed the extra care to annunciate exactly what you want on them because they're a little bit on the basic drier side. read more

I've been hearing how awesome Delia's was for years. Went here finally and was incredibly disappointed. One of the dryest, skimpy sandwiches I've had. The bread was hard, like from a couple days before, the meat tasted good but was severely lacking in amount, there was no oil, no mayo, no mustard, there is no vinegar, no Italian seasoning. The macaroni salad was bland. I really wanted to enjoy this but it just wasn't great, maybe I missed the good old days read more

Went on Sunday. The dining area was dirty, the floor was sticky like drinks were spilled and not properly cleaned. The tables were mucky and the whole time we were there, people would came and go but no one came out and wiped down a table. When we got our food, the bread was stale! That's kinda what Delia's is known for, right? To say the least we were disappointed. My wife and I have been going there for over 40 years so maybe we just came on a bad day. We ordered a full order of the Turkey sandwich and got ham instead. My wife can't eat pork products as it effects her.

I've been coming here since the early 70s. The bread, of course, is delicious. Some of the flavors have changed, but it is still one of my go-to comfort food places. This restaurant, like so many others, has increased their pricing, so I gotta pick and choose when I stop in. read more

We had heard how great the sandwiches here were. Gave it a try and were greatly disappointed. Driest bread I've ever had from a sandwich place. Maybe 4 slides of meat on a giant sandwich. tons of lettuce, minimal seasoning. This happened over summer and thinking about it again made me pissed and write this review. Never again.
