Great spot for a date or group! The tree in the middle of the restaurant is unique. We decided to try the Chile en Nogada because we never had it before and it's an iconic Mexican dish according to the menu. I thought it was delicious, with the cream sauce on top and the mild spice in the meat. The rib eye tacos were also delicious, though on the smaller side so I recommend adding an appetizer! The service was quick and polite. I would consider making a trip back to try more of their menu! read more

This is a hidden gem in Seattle. Came here with friends not knowing what to expect. One of the best Mexican steakhouses I have experienced. We were thinking we were going to hit a long wait line on a Saturday night, but came in with only a 10 minute wait. The service was welcoming and the decor is bright with the lanterns all over a tree in the middle. Each table comes with the fillings of various toppings to put into your taco. Onions, salsa, radish etc everything compliments. As an appetizer, I had to get the bone marrow. Smaller pieces but cooked to perfection and easy to scoop out. I got the rib eye and every bite was mouth watering flavor. The grilled cactus is beneath the steak. I'm not a huge beans fan and usually don't finish them but the creamy texture and flavor won me over. It comes out on a sizzling hot stone plate and stays warm the whole time you are eating. I thought that was a definite plus for the dining experience. Note there was no guacamole or sour cream or extra sides.. because there is no need to change anything about the authenticity of this meal. I also had the horchata to help balance out all the spices. I will definitely return to this location. For the price the value of this experience is 5/5. read more

Super unique, absolutely beautifully presented Mexican fare in a romantic, gorgeously decorated environment. Love the salsa platter placed in the middle of the table. -Crispitos ($10.99) - SO clever/creative! Crispy cheese and chicharron shell with a swipe of guac in the middle. -Nopales ($13.99) - I chose this with pastor and it was just missing oomph, I can't quite out my finger on what. The Mexican food was good and memorable, but there were a few technical issues. We got sat outside with a good street view and ate some delicious bone marrow, or Tuetanos, but the bone was a bit burnt on one end. Then we ordered the waygu ribeye medium rare which we did come out perfectly medium rare. The issue I had was the presentation on a hot plate as if we were eating steak like fajitas, which was not mentioned on the menu. Though the nopal cactus did insulate the wagyu from the hot plate somewhat, the medium rare cook on our meat was quickly becoming medium to well done due to the transfer of the heat from the cactus regardless, so we had to eat fast. Also, with the 2 person table we were sat at, due to the size of the hot plates we had almost no room for the salsa tray, tortillas provided, and plates. I assume we eat over the hot plate, but the juices spilling on the hot plate sizzled to steam to heat up our meats more, or eventually started to leak onto the table, which being outdoors the tables were grated so the liquids started to splash a bit onto the floor. This is another issue I had with the hot plat, as it did not have any edges to prevent the spillage. I wonder how they do this indoors given 2 person tables are around the same size. The flan desert is great, but I wondered if the flower was edible or served as just decoration, so i bit into it. It was a good thing I did not eat it as i could see a small, dead flying insect on the undercarriage of the flower, which is not a issue with their food prep given this was just decoration and it didn't touch the flan, but it would be prudent for them to make sure just in case in the future, or not put the non-edible flower at all. Good meal and would still come back, but just a bit disappointed in hot plate design and technicalities. read more

My partner and I tried the d' la santa parrillada which is kind of a sampler platter of the meats offered - you get 2 pieces of carne asada, 2 pieces of pollo asada, 1 link of chorizo cut in half, 1 cactus, and 2 short ribs. It also comes with 2 pieces of corn, tortillas, beans, and asadero cheese. I didn't get to try everything but below is what I did try. Carne asada: Thin cut of beef that isn't fatty but on the dry side. There wasn't much flavor on it other than salt. Pollo asada: Lightly marinated thin chicken breast but on the dry side. Chorizo: My favorite of the restaurant. Full of flavor, not spicy, and has a crispy snappable outside. Beans: Very smooth beans with no chunks. The only thing is that it's super super salty. Asadero cheese: basically the queso fundido from the appetizer. The cheese firms up pretty quickly and is a dish that needs to be served piping hot so that it's dip-able and flexible. Pretty good flavor but wish it came with chips of some sort. Corn: Roasted on the grill however the corn was not crunchy or sweet at all. It was very soft and bland. Overall an okay spot but I'm not sure if I'll be back. The staff however are super friendly and nice. read more

If I could give this restaurant a six I definitely would. This restaurant by far hits all the criteria. You have an amazing cozy restaurant ambiance, you have delicious authentic food, and the service is superb. My boyfriend was craving Mexican food and went down a rabbit hole of articles and kept coming across this place so we decided to give it a try. As soon as we got there were loved how small and cozy the restaurant is but we also noticed how packed it was. Most tables we filled with social distancing in mind. The waitress put us down and was even kind to let us pick an outside table. The wait was from 20-30 minutes and within 15 minutes we were seated at their patio. One of the things I loved from the menu was how authentic the dishes were. You had your traditional items like guacamole and quesadillas but then you had so many other Mexican plates that I had never heard of. The menu was very descriptive and helpful. We decided to order 1 appetizer and 3 main dishes to give a try to the most popular items per our waiters recommendation. We ordered: -1 Michelada -1 Margarita - Guacamole -Tacos Birria -Cochinita Pibil -Chile en Nogada The last two plates I listed were recommended by the waiter as his favorites and the most popular items ordered. EVERTHING is served so beautifully. They have such beautiful cups and plates. The drinks came in very big quantities. The margarita was delicious, not too strong, but strong in flavor. I was only able to drink half of mine from how big it was. The food was heaven. My tacos birria were so flavorful. The first bit was fireworks. The meat is tender, the tortilla is crispy, and the consommé is mighty concentrated. My boyfriend loved his plates but his favorite was the Cochinita Pibil. For desert the place did lot let us down we ordered their only desert that night which was a guava cake that resembled almost pana cotta. It was delicious! Not too sweet but sweet enough to satisfy a sweet tooth after such a savory meal. I highly recommend this place. It's going to be another place where I keep going to for date night! read more

I liked how the salas and sides came in this big platter. We ordered the Tacoarte and it came with all the meat! They were all delicious but the brisket had to be my favorite. It serves two people but we couldn't finish it! It was a lot. It comes with tortillas and you can ask for more. There was no wait- so that's my tip for getting in quickly ;) The place is cute and cozy with lots of friendly faces. Our server was adorable and amazing! They started by bringing a complimentary salsa/garnish tray (idk the proper name for it) and all of it was so fresh and delicious. We ordered the guacamole and taco platter with all the various meats to sample. It made it fun to try the different flavors. It says it's for 2 people, but there was 4 of us, and we barely finished it. Im honestly excited to go back and try more of their other menu items. The hospitality was 10 stars and food was yummy! When we were seated, we were greeted with a mimosa cart and several different types of juice options, and a hot chocolate and concha cart. Such an amazing start! We ordered chilaquiles, migas, posole, and then guava cheesecake for dessert. Everything was so great! The room itself is imaginatively decorated and cozy and the service was warm and welcoming. One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. Our go to is always the Tacoarte which is more than enough for 2 people to split, though you may need extra tortillas. My favorite meats are the asada and Al pastor, and every other meal I've tried here has been great as well. One of the coolest parts is the ambiance in this restaurant - truly beautiful and a really cool atmosphere. Their guacamole with fresh chips (gluten free) were very good. I ordered their tacos al pastor and their carne asada tacos (you can order with corn tortillas and thus get gluten free). I'm pretty picky on tacos - the al pastor don't come with pineapple which, in my opinion, is an essential ingredient. I did very much enjoy the carde asada. I also very much appreciated the staff - they were very helpful and kind. We had no trouble with finding street parking.
