Sal y Limon is a hidden gem in the Queen Anne district of Seattle. Was in the mood for Mexican food and did a Yelp search to see what was near my hotel while visiting the area. Sal Y Limon had great reviews so decided to try it. It did not disappoint. The ambiance and decor were festive and the staff were attentive & friendly. The World Cup was playing on several large screen tv's and it was a great spot to eat, drink and watch the game. They serve you a complimentary mini bean tostada that was a nice change from the typical chips & salsa. We ordered a ceviche appetizer, chicken mole and enchiladas verdes. The food was great, especially the chicken mole; an entree rarely offered at most Mexican restaurants. Happy hour prices from 3-6. Partner was craving tortilla soup and Sal Y Limon came up in the search. I was familiar with them as a high quality Mexican spot and just hadn't made the trek over. Honestly pretty cheap for filling food, we only spent about $30 for two people. Though a tortilla soup is very filling for the price, so it's not fully accurate of the average spend. Regardless, enjoyed the food thoroughly, service was wonderful, and the vibes are relaxed. Chilaquiles, Mexico's favorite lunch, as called out on the menu, was pretty tasty. I decided to get the chips and salsa which actually involved three salsas and a basket of chips. One was sort of a Pico De Gallo, a green sauce and a red sauce with a generous portion of chips. I also ordered a cheese quesadilla and once I saw how big the chips and salsa portion was I was concerned if I could handle the quesadilla. But in the end that was not anything to be concerned about. The quesadilla was of modest size, tapas sized even and I ate everything that I ordered without too much problem at all. The food and service was great. Excellent Mexican to pre-game for the Kraken Coworkers recommended Sal y Limon as a top option before our visit to the Kraken. Glad they did as we enjoyed it. Place was bustling, yet the hostess was super nice and found us a table in 10 minutes. Finding parking took a lot longer. :) Once we sat down, the wait staff got to us quickly with drinks, introducing the menu, and taking orders. Can recommend the Ceviche Verde, Chips Frescos, Pollo Asado (excellent, especially on a cold and rainy day), Pollo Con Rajas, and Street Tacos. Not a plate was left empty, so we all clearly enjoyed things. Attentive crew and didn't hurry us at all. Fun space and clean. To my surprise, there was a copious amount of seafood. It had scallops, shrimp, and crab meat. The seafood was tossed in a dreamy chipotle sauce and topped with green salsa. I was super satisfied with my meal and the portions were large enough to provide me with a second meal for the next day. For Valentine's Day, my partner and I had dinner at Sal Y Limón in Seattle. The vibe was very lively and energetic, and instead of the usual free chips, they offered free tostadas - a nice touch! We started with the Verde Ceviche, a fresh, zesty mix of shrimp, lime juice, jalapeños, and tomatillos. For mains, we had the El Enchiladas Del Mar, packed with scallops, shrimp, red meat, and a creamy chipotle salsa, plus Chicken Tacos, which were simple but tasty. The skirt steak was flavored perfectly and had a sort of tenderness that is very rare for how tough that cut of beef typically is. We went to this place on a Friday evening and they had seating available. We ordered enchiladas verdes which were not on their dinner menu and burrito with al pastor meat. They had only seafood enchiladas but when asked they also lets us know about enchiladas verdes. The food was okay, service was great. The food lacked flavor. They had nba matches being shown on tv so it a good place to visit on sports night with plenty of drink options. It is a big place with a lot of seating. Great bar and vibes near the space needle! Very spacious bar with bar, table, and upstairs seating. Our waiter got us a little Mexican chip with beans and cheese. I think it's complimentary which was super nice. I wish we weren't too full or liked beans because it looked and smelled great. We got the Mexican mist ($12) and the red sangria glass ($7.50). My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this place when we were looking for Mexican food near the SIFF Uptown Theater. What a find! We liked it so much we came back just a couple of weeks later when we were seeing a concert at Climate Pledge. On our first visit we both ordered their Chili Mango Margarita which was utterly delicious. When you order this drink you can specify the spice level, on a 1-5 scale: my girlfriend got 1 and I got 3. I thought 3 was perfect; any spicier it might have been undrinkable. My girlfriend found hers spicier than she wanted, but she enjoyed it and even ordered the drink again on our next visit (as did I). For food, she got the veggie enchilada, which she loved. I got the pozole rojo. This was some of the best pozole I've ever gotten, even compared against friends' homemade versions. I ate every last drop! On our next visit, we happened to arrive during happy hour, and both got the same margaritas again, along with an order of vegetarian nachos. Quite good. Service both times was fast and friendly (and in Spanish, if you prefer). Plenty of seating and quite pleasant and comfortable inside. We have another movie coming up. First and foremost let's just get over the small talk. Serious business, this place has some impeccable style. I mean you throw a few pictures on Pinterest and all the middle aged moms are going to be saving them to their "Mi casa inspo" board. The plants in here are stunning, I mean I absolutely gasped when we came up the stairs and I was presented with a beautiful heathy fiddle leaf fig. (May mine rest in peace, you are missed Findley) Anyway our experience began with a pinto bean and cabbage tostada touched with a hint of spicy salsa. Very yummy, perfectly crisp, and certainly a lovely first impression! We ordered the chips, salsa, and guacamole. A nice array of flavors for $12. The guac was pretty much perfect, perfect amount of salt and perfect amount of lime. (Living up the name) the first salsa was a nice pico with some shredded cabbage, I'm not personally a big fan of cabbage but this was quite delightful! I also really enjoyed the verde salsa, though I would have enjoyed some more zing. The tomato salsa I found to be a bit disappointing. It may have just been personal preference but I feel that it kind of tasted like a bowl of fire roasted tomato's and pineapple. For main I ordered the chicken taquitos and my dad ordered the arroz con pollo. My dish came with three perfectly crisp chicken taquitos lathered in shredded cabbage, crema, pickled red onion, jalapeño, and strangely sliced carrots? I enjoyed this dish throughly, the taquito was perfect and added toppings with a scoop of guacamole makes for a pretty flavorfuly fantastic bite. As I went to use the restroom I got a peek of the kitchen and got to see them making the tortillas fresh!! The service was quite good. Personable and very attentive! Thank you to all the staff who made our meal and experience delightful! Everything came out very fast, we got our apps within the first 10 minutes of being seated and our mains perhaps about 10 minutes after. I assume this was because we were one of the small handful of people in the restaurant at the later dining hour. All together I plan to return sometime soon! I don't think this is really a place I'd drive to just for the food, but certainly one I'd be sure to stop at while in town! We arrived and the place was absolutely empty. Eerily empty. We had found it on Yelp and the reviews were great. It smelled amazing. It was even happy hour! Why was this place empty? I don't know. It was midweek, but??? It certainly didn't stay empty, though. It got quite busy while we were there. The food here was knock-your-socks-off delicious. It was one of my favorite meals in Seattle and we had some good ones. The service was INSTANT (well, that's because it was empty at first) and fun. The guys up front both took care of us and even gave us a few free samples of some of their other items like their salsas (their habanero was insanely tasty!), beans, and a couple of tiny tostada things. The meal was just what we needed and it hit the spot. My burrito was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating. Their beans were on point. My wife's ceviche and flautas were brag worthy. Fantastic place, wow, we came here after a long trip and really needed nourishment. The food is amazing! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of dishes available, as well as the quality ingredients! We ordered the red and green posole, two margaritas, and a specific custom dish (not on the menu). We felt confident declaring this place the best quality posole in the city so far. The posole did its job, and we immediately felt better and more energetic, I highly recommend coming here for the ambiance as well. You can tell that they carefully sifted the ingredients in the posole to ensure it was as "clean" as possible. If you've ever made posole or are big into soups, you know what I mean. The broth was clear but still thick, which also tells you they had to have carefully cooked it for a while. There's a quality of care needed to make a nice broth like this, and they really captured it in their soups. We're definitely going to be back to try some more. The custom plate we ordered was costillas (short ribs) in green sauce, and the same happened with their green sauce; there was no excess material, just clean sauce, which means they sifted it carefully. I was pretty impressed. I also loved the variety of cocktails and tons of tequilas, mezcals, etc. You have a lot to choose from, depending on your mood. The service was amazing as well! We were happy with how friendly everyone was here, the waiter specifically asked us for feedback after each dish and was willing to work with us to make us the costillas. These guys went above and beyond, showing they care about the customer. We came during the week, so it wasn't too full, but we did see a variety of patrons, from couples to business meetings and tourists who just happened to walk in. I can see this being a cute date spot, too. The cool thing was the bar and upstairs area, which is something we haven't seen at any other MX restaurant in the city. Came with a group of friends before a concert at Climate Pledge. We wanted a place walking distance from the venue. I searched on Yelp and saw Sal Y Limón had fantastic reviews. Note: They do not accept reservations on a concert night. When I called, they said if we came around 5:30-6:00pm then we should be able to get sat pretty quickly. We arrived right around that time and they brought us straight to our table upstairs. Restaurant has plenty of seating, upstairs and down. The service was fantastic from start to finish. The little tostada with the beans and cabbage that they give you as a free appetizer was delicious. I had chicken fajitas which came with homemade corn tortillas, served sizzling hot, so flavorful. I also had two of the Mango Mint cocktails- they were absolutely delicious. This place is now one of my go-to's for concert nights. Was a fantastic delicious meal. read more

We had a party of 7, and they were able to seat us very quickly even on a busy day! They have a huge restaurant, so lots of space. They have an upstairs. Drinks: I ordered their mango chili margarita, and you can order from a scale of 1-5 in terms of spiciness. My table ordered a 5, and boy, it was definitely spicy! Squeeze that lime in, cause that will help. Tacos: I ordered their street tacos. There's different meats to choose from but you can't mix and match. I ordered tongue and it was delicious. The tortilla was soft but which it was doubled up as opposed to one tortilla. There's an automatic gratuity fee for tables of 8 and more. This place is located in the Queen Anne neighborhood, very much a "vibe" for sure. We stayed in the area, so we prefer the walkable places. This was one of them. The music was a bit loud, but the ambiance was worth it. We got some margaritas...believe it or not, I hadn't found a food margarita place in Seattle. So this did it for sure! I had the enchiladas with skirt steak, with all the fix ins (rice, beans) and it was slammin! I have pretty high standards for authentic Mexican food, and they did it here.
