Super impressed here. I kinda went around the room, and honestly everything I got was good to great. These guys have some really amazing, super fudge-y brownies. The ones dipped in chocolate are amazing as well. The cannoli was not the best, but still good. I really liked the french cream in the lobster tail I got, but it tasted almost like pudding. Again, I liked it, but not the best pastry cream I've ever tasted. Super creative cupcakes were delicious. I did the peanut butter and the hot fudge. Loved it. I thought the cake was nice a light. This was good for a cupcake, but on the carrot cake the cake was too light. Also, the cream cheese frosting was SUPER sweet, and not as thick as I like. Still though, very tasty. I also got some bread and was pleasantly surprised. The shape seemed weird- almost like a round tube, but it was perfect for sandwiches. Tattooed ladies working here were very nice. If I had the option to rate it a 10 I would. Steve and his team saved my life this morning ! I dropped the cake i was working on this morning at home and merely had a panic attack i called 4 other local bakeries and they all rejected me. I called D'Orsi's with hopes they would help me but prepared myself for their rejection. When Steve said yes he would help me out by providing the two sheets cakes i dropped ! I cried and screamed of excitement. Shortly after i went to the bakery and he gave me some advise and some pointers. I just want to say THANK YOU! I owe you ! I will forever give you guys business ! I heard about this place from my co-workers. I should've never listened to them! This bakery is not even worth 1 star. We designed our own wedding cake and had it custom made by D'Orsi. What a disappointment it was. The cake was poorly executed that it was nothing like the sketch we provided Steve (the owner). It was either they didn't put any effort into the cake or the artist/baker was incompetent. We really had high expectations considering how much we paid for this cake. I have to stop when I am in town. I am a bread guy and bring home 2 or 3 loaves of bread when i stop in. Sometimes the in-laws bring me a loaf, i love them lol. The bread is always fresh and full of flavor. I started to enjoy apples when I started to make pies and turnovers at home. Little disappointed this morning. I purchased an apple turnover and man was I looking forward to it. Then i took my first chomp and learned it was a yesterday's left over. My wedding cake was exceptional! Steve the owner goes all out in your cake trial and provides cake and all kinds of flavors. I also showed him a design I liked and he made sure it looked even more beautiful than that. The colors and fine gold details on it were so beautiful and numerous people asked me who made the cake. I contacted Steve numerous times for the cake width to make the cake stand and the top tier width to make the cake topper and he was always so quick to respond. I've had mixed experiences during my visits. The rye bread was delicious and lasted almost an entire week, while staying soft. I would say the price is comparable to that in the supermarket. During another trip, I wanted to buy some pastries with raspberries. The girl recommended one pastry which she said had a raspberry filling, when i tasted it at home, the filling was cherry (disappointing). Then I tried a "raspberry cigar", which was pretty good and did taste like raspberries and the third pastry i bought was a slice of a chocolate looking cake, which the girl said had a hint of raspberry filling inside. When I tasted it at home, the layer of raspberry was a lot more than a hint and tasted excellent. I wish the staff, more particularly, the woman I dealt with had better knowledge of the product she was selling. Another time my husband bought an assortment of baked cookies and chocolate covered strawberries. The cookies were good, but some of the strawberries were covered in really cheap tasting chocolate and cheap sprinkles, while others were dipped in sugar instead of sprinkles. The sugar version was slightly better, but it was still dipped in the same cheap chocolate. read more

Our caterer recommended Steve at D'orsi Bakery to do our wedding cake and it was fantastic. At the tasting he let us try anything plus some extra combinations that we hadn't thought of. Neither my wife nor I are lemon fans but he insisted on us trying the lemon curd and we ended choosing it for the top tier of our cake. The butter cream that Steve makes is also fantastic. It is so smooth and creamy. We received nothing but positive comments from our guests. The cake not only tasted great but looked amazing. For over 50 years my family has been coming to D'Orsi's Bakery and we've ordered all our special occasion cakes and consistently got our bread from there.. Over time this bakery has truly changed and not what is was years ago. In events that unfolded today, my daughters 16th birthday cake was not at all what we ordered when we went to pick it up on the way to the party. We showed and sent a photo of exactly what we wanted and said "this is what we want..exactly the way it is" which was a floral two tier cake.. which at all isn't that hard to accomplish. It was also a $25 charge for small flowers on the cake, which didn't make sense. The owner (Steve), a total ASSHOLE mind you that came out from the back with the biggest attitude thinking the situation was about the money, when really it wasn't. It was about the messed up cake. My wife did not mind paying the $25 (even though they said they didn't charge for flowers, but decided to call the morning of to say that they're going to charge the 25) He came out saying he won't charge the 25 after we paid for the cake, thinking that was the whole problem but the problem was the cake! We said that we were at least happy with that and Steve said he wasn't happy and tried to shoo us away telling us to take it with the biggest attitude. Again, making it about the money. And he also did NOT apologize once. This place is not at all what it's all cracked up to be. Prices are way to high and charges left and right for little things, last minute. They truly don't know how to treat their customers, especially ones that have been coming for generations! So disappointed. read more

This is my go to bakery whenever I need or am craving ANYTHING! Their cannolis are incredibly, the best I have ever had and their coffee cakes will have you craving them every weekend! I like this bakery. Clearly, despite some of the lower rated reviews, they're still in business, so they must must be doing something right. I've never had a bad experience here. I actually just stopped by this bakery today to pick up a sweet "after lunch treat." Yeah, my coworker and I will look for any excuse to grab a sweet goodie to satisfy our sweet teeth (not tooth) cravings after our lunch break. The worst thing I could think of a bakery selling is a dry cupcake. And I've had my fair share of dry cupcakes. But this bakery delivered a really moist cupcake. I tried the signature oero cupcake and it wasn't dry at all and the icing was not overly sweet. I got a plain vanilla cupcake with chocolate icing for my husband and it just didn't compare. So I recommend their signature cupcakes for sure! I feel I got a pretty good deal. For $9.00 I got 3 cupcakes (2 of which were their new signature cupcakes), a huge chocolate chip cookie and a pretty fall decorated sugar cookie. That's less than $2.00 an item. The fall sugar cookie was good. The icing on the cookie (which was that colorful decorative hardened icing?) was good too. The icing wasn't like a smack in the face of sugar. And the chocolate chip cookie was super soft. I haven't tried any of their breads, so I can't comment on that. But overall it was pretty good. read more

Warning: if you get a stale cake bring it back. I stopped in for a birthday cake for my grand daughter's 10 birthday, pick what looked really cute. It was horrible. I live 45 minutes away and always bought pastries, figured it would be better than Shop Rite. I was in the area today and stopped by to let them know, owner said I should have bought it back, it must have been over baked. I have been going to this bakery for about 25 years and have always loved cakes and brownies! This year as always I visited the bakery on Christmas Eve for that evenings desserts. The girl that was getting my order was absolutely RUDE!!! Huffing and Puffing the whole time, rolling her eyes. To top it off she did not give me what I order, she put the brownies one on top of the other, so they were all stuck together. I ordered a German chocolate cake from D'Orsi last Saturday for my Dad's 60th birthday and it exceeded expectations by far! I was never a big fan of German choc but am a convert now. The cake was fresh and delicious and my Dad as well as the guests loved it. I wanted a cake big enough for 15-20 people but this was enough to serve 30 people, even discounting for large appetites. D'orsi baked two birthday cakes for my grandsons' birthdays with Toy Story custom drawings. One cake was white with canoli cream filling, and the other chocolate with chocolate mousse filling, both covered in whipped cream. They were both fresh, light, and delicious, as well as beautifully decorated. In addition, for the children they made cupcakes with the Toy Story alien character faces, also delicious and the kids loved them. I would recommend this bakery without hesitation, and I will be back for my next celebration. read more

We used this bakery for our wedding and after many lengthy conversations with the owner the cake was no where near what was discucssed. The only thing that was correct was the cake topper that we provided and amazingly enough the spelling was correct. The cake did taste good but the owner is completely clueless. If you want a cupcake or to have your requests completely ignored this is the place to go. The anniversary cake was supposed to be raspberry, not lemon. The color used to design the outside was wrong, we provided him with one of our invitations so he could see the design and the color - was supposed to be dark red - ended up mauve/light purple - where did that come from? They forgot to bring the cake topper (which we stressed was VERY IMPORTANT TO BE ON THE CAKE) so someone brought it over and gave to a worker at our venue, they did not put it on. It should have been put on by the bakery people. I was very unhappy to turn around to look at our cake and see the topper missing. Steve really did not pay any attention to the details of what we discussed and he wrote down only to ignore and do what he wanted anyway. Cannot recommend this bakery due to his carelessness..which is really a shame because the product is good but the stress is not worth it. Especially for a day as important as your wedding day.
