We've completed three projects with them that ranged from small (a room refresh including tile work) to large (a custom ADU with full kitchen and bath). Each project received the same professional project management that led to completion exactly on schedule and with no outstanding issues. Beware of this company! I have let my feelings fester about them, but this was my experience. They did not fulfill their end of the contract in anyway. They would not show the scope of the project on their project sheet. This should have always been correct. They had things like bathrooms, which I wasn't changing, and there was no way to tell what they actually were doing. You don't get to see this until you sign a contract and give them a substantial amount of money $5000+. After asking at every meeting for a scope of project, they decided we were a poor match, but they never offered a refund, and when we requested one, they didn't even respond. Honestly, it was money thrown down the toilet. Expect that. They say you have to "trust them", but they don't seem to trust you, and they don't care. Unless, you have money to burn, and you are willing to not know what is expected, I would stay away from this company. They did nothing, and walked away when I asked for the minimum. They didn't refund our deposit, and I don't find them to be reputable, there are a lot of good contractors out there, they are not one of them. read more

I hired Domenichini to repair water damage after last winter's storm. The company walked off the job after removing the stucco from the back of my house and installing four new windows, three of which they damaged. This left my home with basically no back wall! They also broke the faucet and the electrical outlet cover off the back of the house, along with two sprinkler heads and laid the old windows on the lawn in the hot sun which burned large sections of my grass. I was able to get an honest contractor to do the stucco on the back of the house and a great company to do the painting on the outside and the drywall and painting on the inside. read more

We love our new bathroom! It turned out exactly as we had hoped and planned, and we wouldn't change a thing. All thanks go to D.R. Domenichini Construction, and especially to Amber, the designer, and Scott, the project manager. We've done several remodels and this was the most fun and satisfying. Like the other remodels, there were problems and mistakes to be dealt with along the way. The difference with this company is how they handled the issues. In every case, they listened to our concerns without defensiveness and insisted on doing it correctly without shortcuts. Several times, I indicated I would be satisfied with a less expensive workaround, but Scott assigned someone immediately to do it right or even worked the issue himself. This often resulted in something better than we had originally envisioned. The employees and independent contractors were all very pleasant to work with. The tile installer, Alex, was especially skilled at his craft and went above and beyond in making sure the tile went in perfectly. In a few cases, the installers were not very familiar with the products they were installing, but they were very receptive to our suggestions or pointing out where something was going off track, so everything turned out great in the end. Dave Domenichini has set up very effective processes for his company. Communication was excellent and the employees and contractors were all aware of the schedule, daily tasks and routines, and the design plan. All the employees were very engaged and seemed to like and respect their employer. The new Co-construct software has great potential and was quite useful for messaging, sharing photos and plans, etc although it's quite new to them so not all the features were fully utilized. Amber's plans were very detailed and made it very easy to iterate on the design and track the construction progress. The professionalism of their process was similar to much larger, more expensive firms but, instead of resulting in increased costs like the others, we think it improved their efficiency and held down costs. As they point out on their website, they are not the cheapest or most expensive contractor, and we found that to be true. The quote was very fair but what set them apart is that the estimate didn't change at all through the design process except for some very small additions that we clearly added. And the same price and schedule held through the entire project, again except for a few small changes we requested. Scott suggested several design tweaks that all improved the final product but all were no cost items and or very minor charges where they clearly needed to order more expensive materials. This was a vastly different experience from other contractors who promised a range of cost but grossly inflated the price after detailing the design even though nothing changed. All in all, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend D.R. Domenichini for any home remodel and will gladly go to them again for our future needs. read more

We needed to re-do our master bathroom & bedroom. The bathroom alone was a huge space - about 12 x 16 -- and required a lot of work. There were mushrooms, questionable design choices from the early 90s, and possibly the smallest shower in the world. We selected David and team after meeting wtih several contractors. They seemed the most amenable to our timeline, our design choices, and they clearly ran a tight ship. They did a really amazing job on the bathroom and bedroom. I was delighted with the quality of the work, and am truly happy with the space. Here's some of the positives: - Stayed on schedule: Scott and Amber (our two primary POCs) shared a schedule with us, and they met that schedule. They were transparent when things slipped, and how they were catching up later. - Good design: We worked closely with Amber on design choices, and she was a great asset (and one of the big reasons we went with Domenichini over other companies). She really listened to our opinions, and helped us make great choices. - Quality: It's been a few months, and everything is still working well. A 3-Day Fireplace Transformation - SO FABULOUS! Jessica and the D.R. Domenichini crew made this much needed make-over fun and fabulous! They demo'd and dry-walled the old fireplace surround one day, set the new stone and tile the next, then set a new gorgeous mantel and touch-up painting the 3rd day. This is a bit overdue (like a year overdue) but we are very pleased with the work D.R. Domenichini Construction did on our two bathrooms. We had them both totally redone, and the work included removing a closet and moving a door a bit so we could enlarge the master shower. The team did a great job in helping us plan for the changes, then executing them. During the months following the work, a few minor issues arose, but as soon as we brought these issues to the company's attention, they sent someone out to address them. Highly recommend. read more

Ok...after my post, there was pretty much an immediate response from the owner. I received a phone call the next day, and a walk-through within a few days of that. A few days later, all of the misses were resolved, including paint touch-ups and my missing outlet move. Dave could have done a bunch of things; he could have just brushed this review under the rug, as this was work done several months ago. He didn't, however; instead, he wanted to fix the misses and resolve the communication issues. He's made us fans, and we'd highly recommend them to others. read more

Executive summary: Would not hesitate to use their services again. Great communication; great pricing; and an excellent, top notch end product with only a few minor process "bumps" along the way (and if you have ever done a remodel before, as have I, a few minor bumps are no big 'thang as the alternative can be an absolute disaster). Here is the break out: (4.5 rounded up to five above) End product: Five stars. They redid the bathroom, including installing all new tile floors, tile shower walls, new fixtures, new toilet, new vanity, moving the exhaust vent, installing a shampoo "niche," painting the unit, and moving the mirror in the bathroom. The result was fantastic, and was much better than I would have expected, given the size of the bathroom. Cost: Four stars. Very competitive: started off below the competition though by the end it was even. ("Bump" number one: I had to pour a bit extra money into the project to get the mirror moved so it sat flush over the vanity; but in fairness to them, they told me I could use a "remodeler" separately to conceptualize the project, as their services are not primarily aesthetic, but more meat-and-potatoes decon and installation. They definitely were not pulling a "bait and switch;" it's just that things didn't work out without redoing part of the project.) Communication: Five stars. Very responsive and very clear about what the customer must bring to the table to get things done on time. Word of advice: If you do not like to do your own shopping for the MANY items you will need for a full redo on a bath or kitchen, let them know that at the front end of the project, as I found that it takes a LOT of time and patience to assemble all the "ingredients." David will assist; but a lot is up to you. I don't mind, since I enjoy home repair shopping. Process: Four stars. For the most part, the process was five stars. However, word of advice: Read through exactly what they will do in their specs and verify as things proceed. "Bump" number two: I missed the part about removing one of the cabinets and more or less impliedly waived the removal once they failed to do so. Again, no bad faith on their part, so much as an oversight on the part of both parties. Employees: Five stars. "Scott" (site manager) was great. And the day-to-day tech was "Edgar" -- a real treasure. He was on time, polite, low key, and unbelievably skilled at what he did. Oh, and he worked his *** off to get things done on time. Independent contractors (??): Four stars. I believe the install team on the tile were ICs. They did a five star job on the install, and that is what really matters. "Bump" number three: Unlike Edgar, however, they brought a radio to the site and also appear to have tried to drum up some extra business with the neighbors. No real big deal in the end and they were certainly nice enough guys and, as noted, were total profs on the install. read more

I will cut to the chase first. The project (a complete kitchen remodel) came in on time and within the original budget. Our new kitchen looks fantastic. Now, the details. We found D.R. Domenichini on Yelp while looking up another contractor for a kitchen remodel. Because of all the very high ratings we brought them in for a bid. We were impressed with the ideas they had, the knowledge and the willingness to work within a budget. The timeline they laid out was aggressive and we had heard so many stories of other contractors that we were worried they assured us. Their pricing approach of nothing upfront and payments spread throughout the job at even intervals, with the final payment when complete, put us at ease. The crew was highly respectful, did a great job of covering exposed rooms as to not get dust on them and completed the tear down very quickly. As promised they progressed through the job and kept us well informed. Nearly twice a week, we would would have a conversation about the next steps. They coordinated the timing with us on purchasing and delivery of all materials from the granite to the appliances and everything in between. At one point they just put up tile back-splash and my wife didn't like the color she chose. She felt a little awkward in bringing it up but when we did, they were very supportive - just saying "we want you to love your kitchen." They were able to squeeze the change order in at minimal cost because we were on schedule for the entire job. When the job was in the final week, we were also very impressed at how the meticulous they were to point out any touch-ups or areas that needed to be fixed. In fact, when I made my list up of about 12 things I noticed that weren't perfect, they had found each one and about 4 more - all got fixed to perfection. Domenichini was clearly the most knowledgeable, experienced, and reasonably priced of them all. My project was a full remodel of the kitchen, removal of multiple load bearing walls, and a laundry list of other items. A very thorough and accurate quote was provided and there were almost no unexpected costs (aside from those I created after the fact). D.R. Domenichini provided a thorough timeline of our project and stuck to it throughout the duration of the project. The staff was extremely responsive and personable. All concerns were noted and addressed promptly. Upon completion of the project all of my small concerns were addressed and I could not be happier with the results. I am 100% satisfied with D.R. I am renovating my master bath. I have a neighbor (five houses down) renovating their kitchen and master bath. D.R. is their remodeling company and I thought I would have D.R give me an estimate. I requested a quote through their website, chose the $0-$50,000 online budget, and received a response call from Trevor. I gave a basic overview of the job and Trevor asked my budget, I explained that I felt it would be less than $50,000. Trevor stated the cost would be significantly more tahn $50,000. I suggested he (or someone) come to my home, see my architectural plans, get a more detailed explanation of the renovation, and provide an actual estimate. Trevor asked if my estimate was firm. I stated that I had other work; relocate an entryway from my living room to family room and open an exterior wall to install full length exterior doors which would most likely increase the cost over $50,000. Trevor stood firm on the master bath portion being signicantly more than $50,000. I am confused how an estimate can be decided without actually understanding the work involved. I can only conclude D.R.'s approach is making the renovation fit a price, not determining the work to fit the cost. The entire DRD Construction team are consummate professionals (knowledgeable, communicative, reliable, customer oriented and genuinely great people to work with). They offer high quality at a reasonable price point (the perfect combination!). We've completed two sizable projects with them in the past 12 months, in each case we presented Dave and his team with a set of constraints and personal requirements and on every occasion they worked with us to find the best solution within those constraints. Each project presented a few unexpected hiccups (which is almost always the case where construction is concerned) but in my experience its how you handle those situations that counts and in all cases DRD worked to ensure we were well informed and where necessary part of the decision process on how to proceed. As a busy professional I really appreciated the daily progress reports that clearly document what was done, what will happen in the coming day(s) and identify any 'homework' items along with the respective owners so there's no confusion about who owns what and when it's due which avoids impacts to the schedule. We purchased our first home a year ago. There are many things we would like to do but must take our time and budget. One of our first big projects was to have two windows replaced and replace the siding with stucco. David was able to give us an estimate quickly. I asked lots of questions, all of which he answered. We hired LazySuzanDesigns (Ann Marie McCauly) to do a custom cabinet/kitchen design. She came highly recommended so we met with her. In our discussions with her she indicated that in the hundreds of remodels she worked on, the best contractor she ever worked with was D.R. Domenichini Construction. Based on her input and extensive research for a contractor to do a complete kitchen and laundry room remodel, we thought Domenichini was the way to go. To be sure, we looked at Yelp and found that the contractor with the most outstanding reviews was Domenichini Construction. Based on this we checked around and found a couple people we knew who had used them, or had close family/friends who used them. Those word of mouth reviews were better than what we read online and corroborated Ann Marie's personal experience. Given all this positive input we hired D. R. Domenichini Construction. What a great choice!! Dave and his crew, as you have read in the countless other reviews, are excellent. They are timely, communicative, professional, courteous, and experienced. All the traits you want in a contractor without all the hassles that normally come with a contractor. In our previous house we did several large remodel projects and transformed the house over a 10 year period. While we had generally acceptable service from the contractors we used, they were not even close to the level of integrity and quality of Domenichini. It is hard to communicate on Yelp how enjoyable it is to have a contractor whose team shows up every day on time, ready to work, makes fantastic progress daily, and then cleans up EVERY DAY so the impact to your daily life is minimized as much as possible during the construction! They even brought their own towels and soap to wash their hands and clean up in our bathroom so they did not use our products! In this current job we replaced the entire downstairs floor in our home with marble floors, installed NuHeat heated flooring under the tile in the kitchen (awesome decision!), did a complete kitchen and laundry room remodel, and put granite and tile backsplash on our outdoor BBQ island. The remodel took the entire space down to the subfloor/wall studs and they rebuilt from the ground up. We relocated our built in fridge, moved our double oven, changed the size and configuration of our kitchen island, installed a pocket door between the kitchen and laundry room to save precious space, installed all new custom cabinets, pantry cabinets, custom marble backsplash, relocated appliances to the island, and moved from down-draft cooktop venting to a custom range hood overhead system. It was an extensive amount of work. The entire job was completed within a few days of the original estimation of time even with some major roadblocks that popped up along the way, like our subfloor having 1.125 inches of concrete instead of the estimated .5 inches! This took an extra week and extra manpower to dig out all the extra concrete flooring. Dave and his crew communicated the issue, developed a plan, and then executed flawlessly. They then built the new floor back up using lasers to get the floor perfectly even over 5 distinct spaces flowing throughout the house. The floor is impeccable, flat, and beautiful! Bottom line, you have a lot of choices of contractors to choose from, but few will provide the level of service, quality, integrity, and professionalism that D. R. Domenichini provides. I encourage you to at least have them bid your job and meet with them. You will be happy you did! read more

With additional 2X12's to reinforce garage roof added Purlin in existing attic,new false slope in MBR(reduced valted ceiling) Work was done very professional. Before you take the time to read my review and the others let me suggest skip the reviews and hire D.R. Domenichini for your remodel. You will not be disapointed. Being in the Commercial Contracting world we are quite familiar with "projects". We met with Dave went over our project , drawings, made some revisions to our design. We wanted a new master suite, new laundry area, new entryway and a new kitchen. When Dave presented his bid he addressed each phase of the project, the scope of the project / phase and the cost for each phase. So we hired Dave not because he was low bid but because he brought processes, procedures, safety and they even bring thier own towels to wipe their hands:). We all hear horror stories about contractors. Let me assure you Dave and his team will not fit into that category. Organized, clean, communicative, timely, professional and good honest people. We did an extensive master suite remodel knocking walls down, reconfiguring our laundry room and old bathroom to now our new master bath. It's beautiful. There were some recommendations made by Scott our Project Manager for the bathroom /shower design and we worked together to have a finished product that's beautiful. The team on this phase was excellent Pedro, Rudy, Edgar and the IC for our tile. Most of the trades Dave's crew have the ability to perform. If not he has partnerships with others that work with the same professionalism as DRD does. Our master bedroom had walls knocked down, replaced old closet with new, made me a walk in closet. Then there was a window that didn't quite seem right after the construction. I asked that they relocate the window ( not in the scope) the window was reloctated and centered the next day by the team. Our entryway is beautiful there were some changes made by me at the last minute( literally) and they accomodated my vision without throwing outrageous change orders at us. Our kitchen was completely re-designed, and looks amazing, open and all who see it say " wow the space looks so much bigger,". They knocked down walls, demolished the exising kitchen, hung new cupboards, replaced / re-directed plumbing/ piping. Then I made additional changes on the spot, Dave accomodated. This was not part of the scope so there was a change order but again not outrageous. There were also some things that came up that DRD took care of that wasn't in the scope and there was no additional charge. Dave and his crew were in my home for almost 3 months. They showed up everyday ontime, with a task list for the day, and the communication was excellent. Coordination with other contractors was taken care of by our Project Manager Scott so we never had issues of no shows, people showing up late or not at all. We had many people on this job all of whom are talented and take pride in the workmanship. Pedro was excellent, hardworking and easy to work with, Rudy was excellent, Nelso was excellent, Scott our Project Manager was here almost daily and communication between all of us could not have been better. This is a long overdue review - we decided to hire Dave based on yelp reviews and meeting him a couple of times. Dave, Scott and everyone on his team was great. They helped us turn our outdated falling apart kitchen into a warm friendly updated space. They cut out a partial wall, seamed new hardwood in with old hardwood and stained, connected us with great cabinets (Lonardo's) and a great tile and granite place. They did the lighting and plumbing as well. They were pleasant and trustworthy the whole time, and when a few small things went awry, they worked with us to fix it to our satisfaction. They pay great attention to detail and provide great customer service, and they were on time which was super important to us since we were living without a kitchen with two kids. The price was comparable to other contractors we interviewed, but Dave committed to a timeframe and a project plan and a detailed itemization. We had our kitchen/family room completely remodeled by David and his crew including mounting a TV, running gas lines, updating a pantry, raising the ceiling, tiling and backsplash, and new everything. They were a pleasure to work with throughout and I would highly recommend them. During the bidding process, we had a lot of questions and David answered all of them promptly and completely. Their prices were reasonable and fair compared to the dozen or so contractors we must have interviewed. Once the ball was rolling, things happened quickly and consistently with fantastic progress. Since this is our first house and our first major project, we had many concerns and worries. We would send lists of items to David or talk with Scott the project manager in-person just about any morning, and they would have them addressed or answered no matter how small. There was some miscommunications here and there still naturally, but David resolved all of these problems exceptionally well without hassle. What we enjoyed most was that they were organized and have a process for handling all of the small details. During the project, we decided to replace the tiles for the entry way as well and replace baseboards along with a few other things and they happily accommodated. Everything was kept to schedule except for materials that we had ordered that took longer than expected. The kitchen/family room itself turned out great and to our somewhat exacting standards. David, Scott, and Octavio are also friendly good guys in general and we were able to bounce some good ideas off of them to make our kitchen that much better. One of our major concerns going into all of this is that contractors are known for being good in the beginning of the project and getting progressively worse towards the end. To our delight, David and crew were fantastic from the beginning all the way through and even after the project was complete. For example, about a week after the whole project was finished and we had settled in, we noticed the TV had been mounted higher than we had originally taped out on the wall. We told David and his guys were back within a few days to remount the TV, repaint the affected areas, and fix a few other small grout pieces that had fallen out. From start to finish D.R. Domenichini was superb. We highly recommend them for a home remodel project. My husband and I had been planning a somewhat large kitchen/dining/living space remodel for a couple of years. We interviewed six different contractors before finding Dave and none seemed to be a good fit. Dave impressed us from the start. He was established, he was able to provide photos and references from several different projects, and he seemed very honest. Before we entered into a contract, he met with us and our designer several times to help finalize our remodel plan, after which he provided a detailed estimate, including the exact types of materials and products, etc. None of the other contractors we interviewed were interested in doing this. Their estimates were all very general and they would not get more detailed until we signed a contract. We appreciated Dave's more "up-front" approach. Once on the job Dave and his team were the utmost professionals. They arrived on time every day, they worked the whole day, and at the end of the day, they left the job site spotless. We took photos after the demolition phase, and our friends and family were all impressed with how clean the space was. The crew worked non-stop for six weeks, and either Dave or Scott (his manager) were on site just about every day. They were all very nice people and extremely respectful of the fact that they were working in someone else's home and not just on a 'job-site'. Their work was top quality, right down to the finer finishing details. Dave and his crew made what could have been a stressful and frightening experience one that was very bearable, and ultimately very rewarding. Our initial impressions of Dave turned out to be spot-on: he is extremely trustworthy and professional. Whenever problematic issues arose, Dave and his crew were always on top of them, and they were always honest and straightforward with us about how to handle them. It was obvious to us that Dave's objective is for his customers to be happy with his work, and he does what it takes to make that happen. We never felt uncomfortable about expressing our concerns to him, and he was always available to listen and find ways to allay them. Dave and his team also have a great eye for design. We had a designer plan our remodel, but Dave worked closely with him and also provided several great suggestions that substantially added to our new space's fabulous look. Great company, exceptional communication. I had spoken with the owner, Dave, on the phone before I met with Amber. Dave really took the time to lay out all the details of a budget for a full home renovation, whereas other contractors weren't even returning my calls or able to answer any questions over the phone. Amber is a gem! Friendly and knowledgeable--and I felt extremely comfortable as a woman talking one on one with her. I ended up going with a different company for our project due to timeframe. Domenichini's pricing was very reasonable, among the best. My husband and I needed some of the siding on our house replaced. We got three estimates and David's was not the cheapest, but my husband had a good feeling about him. David gave us the Yelp discount and worked on the project while we were on vacation. We requested that four rows on the bottom be replaced and a flower box removed and sided. When we returned David had replaced 5 rows because he didn't like the look of of the finished product with just 4 rows. He was unable to contact us on vacation, so he simply replaced the extra row. We were amazed that the siding looked original. He took the time to prime the siding on the back before he put it up, so that we would not have the same problem again. The work exceeded all our expectation.... and he didn't even charge us for the extra row. We found David to be reasonable priced, prompt, and honest. His work ethic is amazing. Needless to say, David will be doing our bathroom next, and any other projects we have in the future. read more

Dave and his team worked on our cabana (pool house) remodel. We had been putting off this project for a while and since it was outside, it was our last project for our house. Dave's team and Dave personally really want you to be happy and pleased with their work. They do a good job of making sure they understand what you are looking for and proceed with a plan. We were very pleased with the execution of the remodel, which was more involved that I thought, and the final completion. The project involved multiple trades people and we felt all were professional and knowledgeable about their trade. This is a contractor that is REALLY easy to work with, beautiful results and professional. I would highly recommend them. If I have more work to be done around our house, I would use them again. We initially hired another contractor that ended up getting overwhelmed, so we called these guys in to see if they'd be up for finishing the job. We had an odd assortment of projects that needed done: add doors here, adjust woodwork there, rebuild that deck, repair that other deck ... and they came out and did a great job. As can be expected, the job took longer than we originally thought due to the normal construction "things" you run in to but it was all clearly communicated to us and not a real issue. The project came in over the estimate and Dave worked with us to find a fair solution. They even dropped off a bottle of wine for the holidays, weeks after the project completed! Great! I contacted this company regarding a leaking outside pipe that involved the main valve and sprinkler system plumbing. I realize they generally do much bigger jobs, but I had heard such good things about Dave that I wanted to see if they could take care of this job for my mom.
