    D's Special Breakfast
    Veronica C.

Hidden little gem! First time visiting D's dinner and it definitely won't be the last. Food was delicious. Fast service and friendly staff. We also ordered the chorizo and egg and that was also very good! The owner was also there and greeted us and made sure we were taken care of. Can't wait to go back and try more options!

We walked in without really reading the menu, assuming that since it's a diner we could get breakfast for dinner. Turns out, breakfast isn't served all day, and our daughter--who was really looking forward to pancakes--was pretty bummed. The cook, however, didn't hesitate at all. He was genuinely excited to fire up the grill and make her pancakes anyway, which completely made her night (and honestly ours too). That kind of kindness and extra effort really stood out. We'll definitely be back.

Is this the same as the location in Sebastopol?

Hi Diana, yes it’s the same. Just started our second location in Santa Rosa.

On the wall was a chalkboard with the list of local farmers and vendors that they used to supply their restaurant. I loved how fresh and flavorful all the food was, but I loved their collaboration with small local business owners to provide them with things like eggs and dairy. I had an omelette with spinach, caramelized, tomatoes, chicken sausage, and goat cheese. This was one of the most delicious bites I've had at a breakfast spot in a long time. We also shared an order of beignets that came with some fresh apple butter, which was to die for! It felt like taking a bit off fall weather if that makes sense. My boyfriend had some biscuits and country gravy with a side of sausage and fried eggs. He loved everything that he ate as well. He also had a bloody Mary, which was made with Soju. The flavor and quality was top notch and you hardly missed the vodka from the drink. Our server was very friendly, and he offered some insight into the quality of the Soju and the vendors that they work with. I just really loved the care that this restaurant put into not only service but the food that they're producing.

We ordered huevos rancheros with orange juice, and a caprese sandwich with a side of soup. The eggs were tasty, but it wasn't very hearty. I was hungry again within an hour. Lots of colorful sauce arranged around the dish, most of it wasted. The sandwich had the aoli, even though The Wife asked for it without. The sandwich was hearty, but kind of a mess. Assembled like someone wanted to leave. The space is attractive, with interesting local art on the walls, but frankly the prices ($20 for the eggs, $27 for the sandwich, $7 for a small juice) were out of line.

Her daughter picked the place as a place she thought her mom would like. I ordered the Quesabirria Tacos with Consome that was ABSOLUTELY amazing. The meat was tender and juicy. Excellent flavor and the tortillas were perfectly crisp. Not so hard the roof of your mouth needs Band-aids but so your ears hear a crunch that is sensory pleasing. The staff and especially the Bartender were super rad! Side note is that my gram is 90 yrs old with failing health. She hasn't been able to go out of the house in weeks, but she made it to this and enjoyed all of it. So I thank you for that! And my 49yr old cousin just got out of the hospital after surviving a stroke 2 weeks ago. The Kaiser Santa Rosa ER tried to send him home! So be your own advocate! We had a lot on our hearts. We thank you for allowing us a place to let down our shoulders and exhale, even if just for a short while.

Buyer beware :). But, as much as I crave true heat, the real stand out at Fogbelt are their fries. They have THE BEST fries that I have ever had anywhere. They are battered, super crispy, creamy inside... seasoned to perfection... seriously amazing! The crew is always happy to see you, but not overbearing. Water is self serve, which is fine. They have some outdoor seating, which is usually a welcome option in Sonoma County. The parking lot views are nothing special, but a burger and brew in the sun is a special feeling regardless. The oysters were pristine and briny, and the martini, properly chilled and balanced, set a confident tone. The bar staff were polished, attentive, and engaging without ever being intrusive. Once seated, the experience continued seamlessly. We selected seared scallops and butterfish, complemented by a range of classic sides, baked potato, etc. The scallops were expertly executed, caramelized to a delicate crust while maintaining a tender, almost buttery interior. The butterfish lived up to its name, rich and silky, with a depth of flavor that lingered pleasantly. What stood out most was the cohesion of the dishes. The sauces, in particular, were layered and thoughtfully composed. They were so compelling that, by the end of the meal, we found ourselves savoring every last drop with bread, unwilling to leave anything behind, all while enjoying a steady cadence of well-crafted martinis. Service throughout was seamless and professional, striking the right balance between attentiveness and restraint. The atmosphere carried a lively yet refined energy, well-suited for both intimate dinners and celebratory evenings. Starks delivers a dining experience that is both polished and indulgent, one that justifies a deliberate visit rather than a casual stop.

I sat at the bar and was served by the owner of the Pub, who is from the UK. I loved chatting with him about the pub and all the fun things that go on there. I happened to come in on Trivia Night, which gets a decent crowd! For dinner, I ordered the Braised Beef Guinness pie and a Guinness to go with it. The pie comes out steaming hot with a nice layer of browned mashed potatoes on top. There is real crust to this kind of pie. Underneath the mashed potatoes is more like beef stew. Large chunks of tender beef and vegetables are sitting in a delicious Guinness stew. On the side, a fresh salad to go with it. For $24 the portion you get is perfect and along with a good pint of beer this is the way to go. I will definitely be back to try some of their other food!

My wife and I had just visited Abbey Tavern this past weekend, a premier Scottish pub in the City, and we expected a similar atmosphere. However, the moment we showed up, we were met with great disappointment. The Goose & Fern is honestly a terrible place to watch a sports match: there was only a single TV mounted in the back corner of the restaurant, the TV wasn't particularly large, and the speakers had been turned completely off. What a bust. Although the food was decent, especially the Shepherd's pie -- which came piping hot in a small cast iron skillet, the service was downright dreadful and almost non-existent. We never received waters (or were even asked if we wanted beverages), our table wasn't given enough silverware, we were never checked on during the meal, and we were waiting around for 30 minutes twiddling our thumbs before somebody from our party finally went up to try to pay for the check. In hindsight, a tip was not warranted for the lack of service. Overall, Yelp grossly misled me on The Goose & Fern. This is not a spot I would stop by again to watch a sporting match. If you're in this part of Santa Rosa, do yourself a favor and head over to Dave and Busters down the street where they have a bunch of massive screens, tons of beer options, and service that will far surpass what you're getting here.
