It's been awhile since our last visit however quality still rules here. Our dinner selections included the Thai Salad and "Drunken Man Noodle". Both dishes truly enjoyed. The Mango Red Curry Chicken was exceptional. A spicy dish tastefully prepared. The lone disappointment was the Thai Dumplings - more dim sum with an aftertaste. Service was a bit of a problem as it was some time before our waitress took our order. Guests who arrived later seem to receive preferable treatment. Hopefully this was a one night issue. read more

Sorry, I'm never impressed by food in Westchester County, and this place was no exception. Ordered take out to bring to family at a local hospital. Ordered the duck salad and Thai dumplings to share for us. Dumplings were pretty standard, but the duck salad was terrible. Dry little pieces of cold duck, on top of some sorry lettuce and celery, watery, without a flavorful dressing. Where was the lime juice? Lemongrass? Fish sauce? Herbs? Spices? Family seemed to enjoy it, but I'm too spoiled by a great Thai place to enjoy it here. read more

This place is run by a family, who are awesome and kind, and the food is incredible. It's a hidden gem as they aren't posted all over delivery apps as they prefer you pick up or dine in to ensure your food is fresh (it's worth the ride even if it's not close to you). The food is authentic and not greasy like many American restaurants. We will be back again soon - we tried many different dishes and were very impressed by them all! read more

Excellent. For under twelve bucks, I had a very nice lunch in a very nice place with very nice service. My lunch started off with a perfect dumpling. Next up was the house soup with plenty of tofu cubes and vegetables. It was served at a very hot temperature, which was good, because sometimes lunchtime soups tend to be kind of lukewarm. My entrée was squid pad thai and I could not have been happier with it. The sauce seemed a little different from what I am used to - it was somewhat sweeter, and didn't really have much of a "peanutty" taste, but make no mistake about it, I loved it. Located in a dilapidated building, the restaurant tries to exude Thai environment, but it fails to do so. With a refreshing cup of tap water, I began my favorite Thai food order, Pad Kee Mao or the drunken noodles. Almost $20, this place's portion is scanty at best. The Thai places I have been to charges less than $10 and almost doubles the portion. As I took a bite of my noodles with leather like chicken breast, I immediately knew that I should not come back here again. For the price, portion, taste, and ambiance, this place lacks all of it. The only reason I gave 2 stars is that they may be adhering to the health code. The restaurant seemed clean. However, it lacks all other points. D Thai has clearly labeled vegan options and their veggie duck and chicken are vegan as well They even have a vegan Shiraz wine available. My drink had to be a Thai iced tea which you can ask for coconut milk which you can't do at most Thai places We did the lunch special which gives you a great amount of food for the price as well as options for what you would want your tofu, veggies, or mock meat of choice. All come with a choice of salad or soup (did salad with peanut dressing, and comes with tofu, real tasty ) as well as a veggie potsticker with rice or noodles depending on your order. My entree was the spicy basil w/ veggie chicken. The mock chicken was chewy, but really took in all the flavor of the sauce and spice which made it very good, almost addictive if you're really into Thai spices. They also have multiple vegan desserts which you also don't see at Thai restaurants. I will definitely get one of them next time! The service was very nice, and the restaurant is small inside so reservations recommended as when I got there almost all the seats were full so I'm glad I made one, and they do have very nice outdoor seating. I really enjoy this place and the staff is super nice and welcoming! It's run by a family and they are always happy to see you when you arrive. I normally go for lunch during the week with colleagues and they have a great menu with tons of selections for lunch. It is a bit pricey and the portions are small that would be my only slightly negative comment but I still think it's worth it! Everything is very flavorful and arranged beautifully. Unfortunately they are in an office park which is not the nicest but there's plenty of parking which is great! All there's dishes taste super fresh and I especially enjoy their curries which are unique and tasty! For the lunch special you can choose a salad or a really nice and light vegetable soup which I enjoy. All the lunch specials come with a great dumpling as well. Next I wanna try going for dinner to see what the manu is like and the portion is as well. read more

Small location, nice decor, and I really like the neon green backlighting. The family that owns the place is very nice, always like supporting family businesses. The food is very good. The tom yum soup is well balanced, some places make it too sour or too spicy. The drunken noodles and pad see ew are very flavorful. The best drunken noodles I've had in a while. Ask for the spicy siracha sauce to kick up the heat. They also have Chang beer which is surprisingly hard to find. A solid Thai restaurant that pushes out great food. D Thai is a little more expensive than nearby I Thai, but my friends think it's way better. Me? I don't know Thai food very well, but I did think D Thai had smaller portions (albeit still very filling) and different tasty food. I wasn't super impressed, but I'd definitely be happy to come back for a casual meal whenever I'm in the area. Despite the seemingly small portions, this was also the first time in my life that I ate so much that I had to throw up. :O Food: + Roti - I can never resist ordering roti, which makes me feel like I'm an expert at evaluating roti now. :p (Jk, I really am not). It's the thick kind that's bready and dense; I personally prefer the crispy thin one, but this was pretty good. + Drunken noodles with chicken - Totally different from the one at I-Thai's (not sure how to explain it), and not very spicy. That said, I liked the way the spice enriched the flavor of the dish rather than being one-dimensional; it was a very satisfying dish. I ended up taking the rest home as a snack for the next day. + Thai iced tea - Good, no complaints! Always a pleasure to go to this restaurant. The service, ambiance and food are always great. It's a friendly family affair with beautifully prepared and presented Thai dishes. It's a small space with only a few tables, but nicely decorated and comfortable seating. There is also an outside space in good weather. The flavors are wonderful without being overwhelming or too spicy and the dishes are so pretty when they are served that you don't want to disturb them. I had soft shell crab, which I remembered from last year, and it did not disappoint. Hubby had cashew chicken, which is his go-to dish. **TAKEOUT ONLY** I'm going back and forth about the rating of this restaurant. I ordered takeout with a couple of friends for lunch. We had a pretty big order (6 dishes). I called in and they told me it would be ready in 30 minutes. The lady I talked to on the phone was pretty nice. Also I thought 30 minutes was a pretty quick turn around time, so I thought I would wait a little- so I went around 40-45 mins. You know, just to make sure, they had enough time to pack everything. When we went back, we found out that they had forgotten to pack one of the dishes, a soup order. I called the restaurant and explained that we were missing a dish and that we were only 3 miles away. They said they would come and deliver the dish they had forgotten but it would be for another 30-45 minutes. It was nice of them to offer to deliver it but it was still troublesome that we didn't all get our food at the same time. Second, I wasn't wowed by the portion sizes. I know it's lunch pricing but wow they are small. The Spicy Basil lunch special came in the tiny boxes that my side dishes usually come in! It was $9.95 too. The beef was also pretty tough and there wasn't much flavor in the dish either. I would not recommend. The second entree I got was the Pad Thai with Chicken $8.95. The portions were larger and it was pretty good but you know-sometimes I don't want Pad Thai and I want to eat an equally sized entree dish. Overall, not a great experience with takeout order and the food although the service was very nice. I think our 6 dishes turn to be around $60 which is pretty cheap for a Thai restaurant but in terms of quality and quantity of food, I felt that it was probably more worth to get more and better food for a steeper price. read more

Sit down and relax and enjoy this intimate place. The walls are decorated with beautiful artwork with a energic green wall to provide a pop of color. This is a family owned place and you can tell by the over intimacy of the place. When you sit down the bring you shriml chips served with a peanjt sauce, very light but the peanut saice adds a nice flavor to them. For appetizers we had the avocado spring rolls and Thai dumplings. I loved the avocado spring rolls nice and fresh and the avocado was super creamy, being a texture person I was not a fan of the Thai dumplings but everyone else loved them. For dinner we ordered 4 different meals: Pad Thai with meat which was flagrant and full of flavor, the drunken man noodle was spicy, not a fan of the noodles (again all about the texture) but the flavor was amazing, would swap out chicken for the noodles. Then we had the sweet and sour chicken which was out of this world!!! And the ginger and scallion Sautee, the ginger and scallion was ok nothing really to write home about but the sweet and sour is beyond amazing. Dessert was the homemade coconut creme Brule made with tapioca and coconut milk on top and homemade Tiramisu. To my surprise the Tiramisu was very good and served with fresh homemade whipped cream. Sadly, I think this was the worst outdoor dining experience I've ever had. My friend and I decided to come here after our hike at Rockefeller State park. We were quickly seated being that there was only one other occupied table. The waitress served us water and she came back about 20 minutes later to place our order. I ordered the pad thai being that a thai restaurant can never go wrong with that particular signature dish. It wasn't until after the food arrived that I decided to take a sip of water. I grabbed my glass and noticed a lipstick stain on it. It GROSSED me out. I told the waitress there was lipstick on my cup and she replaced it without a word. I hesitated before taking my first bite of food after this, but did so anyways. After finishing my meal, I had to go to the bathroom immediately. This has NEVER happened to me before. I drive up here with optimism and enthusiasm and an appetite . The staff was very friendly and attentive . Best part of the meal . Very accommodating . Yet , dare I say , the chef lacked attention regarding the salt levels of the lam basil special . It was as salty as the Dead Sea. Portions were small. The BBQ ribs were more like bbq wings from a pigeon. Overly spicy as well. They are pretty liberal with their spice levels , salt and their Thai coffee was very sugary . The mango red curry chicken was spicy as well and small portion . Do not order their coconut brûlée unless you are in the mood for hot porridge with coconut milk on top . Also small portion . D Thai Kitchen deserves four stars because the food is delicious and as on point as any Thai restaurant, but I seriously contemplated only giving three because the portion sizes are unbelievably small. Granted our table only ordered from the lunch special menu, but still... check out the photo. For $8.95 I got the delicious curry pulled pork. It had great flavor with hints of curry and coconut. The meat was tender and there was just enough of a spicy kick to get things going. Still, I can't get over how little food you get! Good serving size - you're definitely paying 1.5-2x as much as when you're eating in the city, but this is more of a upscale casual dining experience than takeout/full casual, so expect to pay a bit more (plus, there's less volume of customers in Westchester, so prices need to keep up with costs). Service is pretty slow, so don't come here if you're in a hurry - it's pretty much two people handling the entire restaurant. However, the good thing is that it's busy with plenty of patrons - always a good sign! You get shrimp chips with their peanut dipping sauce complimentary, which is always a plus (especially if you come hungry and the food isn't ready yet). In terms of flavor profile, the pad kee mao / drunken man noodles here is more on the savory side as compared to the typical Thai food you'd experience in the city (sweeter). I actually enjoy the less-sweet version a lot better, as there's a tendency in America to make Thai food too sweet to whet the American palate. The curry is pretty good, taste-wise, I only wish they actually put more curry itself in the dish (i.e. my curry was pretty much dry, so not much sauce to be soaked up with my rice). I generally like being able to have enough "sauce" for the rice, but only had enough for maybe 30-40% of the rice (which, by the way, comes in a cute heart-shape!). I'd say over all there's not much sauce in any of their dishes, but it could just have been this time. read more

Literally my favorite restaurant on the planet, and I've eaten all over the world. I'm a Thai food snob and no one comes close to D Thai. Pat and Tom (the owners) are WONDERFUL and will treat you like family. Food is UNMATCHED. Every single one of the curries is out of this world. Green and massaman are my fav. Pad see ew is also beyond delicious. Tiger Cry steak is to die for. The taro pearl dessert is mouthwatering. The curry puff is sweet and savory and so good, like maple and curry and fluffy potato. Spring rolls are also solid. I dream about this food. Just go there. If you're in a hurry, takeout is a better bet because everything is scratch made and it may take a while when dining. But nothing beats dining there and eating this food immediately. Tom's homemade tiramisu is also just perfection. Highly recommend. read more

The restaurant itself is actually a little small (cozy?) and can fill up quickly- but I did not want to lower the rating to detract from the amazing food. the Pad See Ew is the best I've ever had, and they do a great job with the Curries and Duck dishes. I ordered takeout food from D Thai kitchen today for the first time. I ordered the lamb lunch special, L7, and it was absolutely fabulous. The description stated it was mildly spicy but it was actually quite spicy which I like. I would definitely go here again. $15 for a lunch special is a bit pricey but it's about right for Thai lunch specials. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The portion was reasonable. This place is such a hidden gem. It's really satisfying to have a good Thai place nearby to feed your hunger after a hard climbing session (ie. The Cliffs is a couple miles away), something that's not easy to say after living in the northeastern big cities of NYC and Boston. Try the Tom Kha soup and the Roti to start off, Drunken Noodles and/or Basil Fried Rice (ask for duck) for your main, and a Thai Ice Tea to wash it down. They also have off-menu items too every once in a while, so ask if you're feeling daring. And last but not least, the staff and owners are really friendly and great hosts. Pad Thai is probably the only authentic Thai dish most Americans can name. Sister and I went for lunch on Presidents Day. We met the chef who assured us he knew what vegan was. We ordered pots stickers, which seemed to have been frozen. We had a delicious mango salad ( not on the lunch menu) for like $16 bucks yet great. Cook was forced to make this dish fresh. Key point. We met the cook in the dining room who assured us he knew what vegan meant, and had absolutely no problem with it. There was no language barrier. We ordered two vegan Pad Thai with vegetables. We got mangled noodles and tofu that was burned and old and no veggies. We spent $111 on lunch, ( ordered Chardonnay). Got an illegible bill, which is never appreciated. I tipped waitress $20 in cash. I don't think she spoke or understood much English, but she smiled a lot. Foolishly ordered Pad Thai to go. Been a horrible week with two deaths in our family and circle. We were exhausted and and hungry. Got home and Pad Thai had 3 pieces of veg with naturally still disgusting tofu. One baby bok Choy, one small piece of broccoli, one other. After repeating vegan, vegan, vegan, the take home dish had egg in it. Both of us got sick. My sister took one bite of old burned tofu, I took two. Tofu is a sponge for bacteria even when fresh. Making me ill just writing this review. Save yourselves! There must be more than one " chef" working here because of some of the positive reviews or some other nefarious reason. I want to speak to the owner. Yuck! Have a sneaking feeling that those three pieces of veg on the take out Pad Thai were were from other people's left over plates. Can't prove it but that's how disgusting it was. If I had been the chef I would have offed myself out of self respect. His name is Tom T. States he the " the chef and owner ." Whole reason one offers lunch deals is to get customers to come back for dinner! Tom, you are screwing yourself and your customers. You cook with hatred and it shows.
