An unassuming little restaurant at the corner of Country Club and Washington, Da Chef Noodle is a fantastic spot if you're looking to satiate your appetite without breaking the bank. It's a nice and cozy enough restaurant, if a bit on the smaller side. The dishes however are a different story! I ordered pork buns for an appetizer, and a dish of tofu and veggies for my meal, as well as boba tea. Let me tell you: the pork buns alone would have been meal enough! Each one occupied the entirety of my palm, and there were 4 of them! Not to mention that my dish was deceptively filling - It felt like I ordered an entire buffet, and I'm sure I consumed enough to feed two people that day! The food was nothing mind-blowing, but flavorful and it hit the spot. Add to it thT the staff was accomodating and sweet and that the bill amounted to a mere $25, I can easily recommend this as a go to lunch or dinner spot. I'll definitely be back! read more

Positive reviews must come from yelpers who haven't learned what authentic chinese dishes look or taste like. What's the name of this place? Yup, don't venture away from the noodle dishes or you will likely be disappointed (if you've regularly dined in SF Chinatown, LA Korea Town, Seattle ID, etc.) Soft noodle Lo Mein was our only passable dish. Their shumais are a wonton wrapped flavorless meat ball. The pancake beef wrap includes an odd tasting Chinese bitter green that is off putting. Their "wok fried" rice should be called "mixed in wok rice"... Nothing more than white rice blended with frozen peas, carrots and chunks of chinese sausage. That's it...no flavor development here. On a positive note, servicers helped with a smile and the place is tidy and clean. Update: No surprise this restaurant was cited for 4 major health violations during a Jan '25 inspection. read more

I was looking for a Dim Sum place . I found one. They serve several traditional Dim Sum plates. The food was tasty and the waiter was courteous and attentive. The food was good. Once again I am surprised that I have not written a review of this restaurant despite having eaten there many times over the last years. It is a small restaurant in a strip mall location, offering a mix of dim sum and larger dishes. The dishes have been consistently good, and offer a change from the standard american-chinese food. First time trying this place for a to go order at 8:30. Lots of restaurants in the area close early at 9:00 or before and Chinese sounded good so drove over. Our first indication of a potential poor meal was the "C" rating in the window, but figured what the heck, we would give it a shot nonetheless. Should have went elsewhere. $45 bought us 3 entrees of marginal taste. Sweet and Sour Pork was over cooked, tough meat on the inside and the breading was soggy/mushy. Orange peel beef was overcooked, tough meat. Chicken Lo Mein was tasteless. White rice clumpy and hard that soy sauce couldn't even breathe life back into. Some pro's to share: Large portions in the to go container. Friendly staff. Clean seating. Hallway to bathroom needs to be cleared out. Several boxes and bags lined the walkway with empty recycled bottles and cans. Really need to place those outside of public view. Felt like you were strolling through the dump to get ti the bathroom. All in all, not going back. Very disappointing considering that this is a restaurant environment with food worse than fast food Chinese buffet treys. read more

This is the go-to Chinese food spot in the desert. We often get take out and the portion sizes are pretty good. Solid choices are fried rice, beef & broccoli, S&S pork, hot & sour soup, Singapore noodles. For the area this is the best Chinese food we've found. I saw the menu photo for 8 shrimp dumplings, for the steep price of $8.95. This equates to over a dollar per bite of this Dim Sum item. I decided to splurge and ordered it. What I actually received was now six pieces instead. Before eating it, I asked the server about the discrepancy and all he told me was the menu I was reading from was over four years old, along with a weak "sorry." When a Chinese restaurant is so cheap and greedy... is when I stop patronizing it. No plans to update the menu, because it costs them money. All new price increases are simply whited-out and new prices written over it. Portions have dramatically shrunk down, since my first visit in 2016. Yet, I keep returning, hoping things improve. I'm done. The taste is still there - but you're receiving much less and likely to pay more for it. The value is gone. You are blatantly being gouged if you ever eat here. Diner beware. read more

First time here, I was so excited to try this restaurant! First red flag, completely empty at the height of lunch hour. The menu had beautiful photos of each dish. I decided on the noodle soup with sliced duck meat on the top. It arrived, what a Huge disappointment. On the top where succulent slices of duck were supposed to be, I had a pile of duck skin and bones! When I complained about this pile which I fish out and put them on a napkin, the server said some ducks are fatty. I told her that this is did not look like the photo l, she took the carcass away and didn't return. I motioned her to come back to the table. I said, I want duck slices like the photo. She went in the kitchen where a lot of yelling and screaming took place. She returned with a small amount of sone slices of duck and fat. From the time we walked in...we were greeted and told we could sit wherever we wanted. It was not busy at first...but 15 minutes later...it was packed. Not a lot of tables but enough for about 12 tables of customers. I had the fried rice that had their homemade chef sausage in it...was very good. We started with dumplings that were very tasty. We also had Moo Chu pork which was very tasty. The portions are decent also so be ready to take your leftovers home. The place got busy so if you don't mind people having their conversations....then eating in is just fine. Also have take-out. My boyfriend and I were staying in Palm Desert for a few days to celebrate our anniversary. The weather was so hot we did not want to go out to eat, and since we were on vacation, we also didn't want to cook. I was searching for some Chinese comfort food as it is what I'm used to growing up and this place was a good catch for us. There did not seem to be that many places in the area with Chinese cuisine, unless you count Pick Up Sticks or Panda Express but those are not the same. We actually ordered from this place twice and I'm glad we did. From the 2 times we ordered, here are the things we got and our honest review of each. Beef chow fun rice noodles 6/10 lacked flavor, needed soy sauce but the beef was tender and the noodles were cooked well. Canton BBQ pork (char shu) 7/10 too sweet for authentic char shu Crispy Salt and Peppery Chicken Wings 10/10 crispy and airy battery. They were perfectly seasoned with s/p and all spice Steamed BBQ pork baos 7/10 nothing special but they weren't bad Mongolian Beef 7/10 tasty but needed salt, more onions than beef Walnut Shrimp 9/10 wasn't overly battered or overly sweet, good portion Flavored Beef with homemade Pancake 9/10 cannot go wrong with these, needed chili oil. Beef and Broccoli 6/10 average Noodles with shrimp and chicken 8/10 good amount of protein in the dish, noodles cooked well Overall everything was slightly above average. Good comfort food, but lacked a little extra seasoning on the beef and noodle items. I recommend asking for extra chili oil and soy sauce, it really enhanced the dishes. The chili oil was great and they were not stingy about it, thank you! I usually do not like adding salt or soy sauce to my meals, but some of these items needed a little extra touch of soy. read more

I love the variety and the fact that there are some true Chinese staples. Peking duck, salt & pepper shrimp, spicy beef noodle soup. Plus all the good sides like spicy cucumber and shredded potato. Everything was pretty flavorful. There's also a lot of choices for the "Panda Express is amazing" crowd. This is the type of place where if you know good Chinese food, it's hiding in plain sight. The only thing I didn't like is that they give so much noodles in the noodle soups, it becomes a sponge and takes away from the soup. Otherwise, a decent bit of authenticity hidden in the area for the traveler passing through or the resident looking for a bit of home. read more

This place was wonderful. We first ordered it to go at work for lunch one time and I had the Mongolian beef and it was wonderful. Then my girlfriend and I stopped by for dinner. We had the mushu pork, some dumplings and fried rice and it was great. Came back with a couple of colleagues for lunch. One day had the Mongolian beef again it was excellent. One coworker had the Peking duck he loved it. And the shrimp dish and it was excellent. I will definitely be back. Give it a try. Wish I would've taken some pictures.
