This is one of the best Chinese restaurants we've come across so far in the past few years we've been visiting the Coachella Valley. The julienned potato appetizer had the right level of chili heat, the garlic spinach is good, and the roast duck had a very crisp skin and tender meat, although it needed more flavor than salt. The orange peel beef was inedible. Almost entirely just the fried coating, and what beef was there was the texture of beef jerky. Shame because the orange sauce seemed decent. Our Lo Mein was good. Could not send back as this was ordered through door dash. read more

We ordered way more food then we anticipated, the portions are very large! Everything was very good, the pad Thai was good but if ordered again I'd ask for some spice. The orange chicken was the best I've had, and my 10yr old son was amazed by it! Fried rice was great also. Everything came out fast and very hot. We ordered 5 main dishes and three appetizers and three drinks and it was 101, plus enough leftovers for at least two meals, or three depending on how much you eat. We will be back! read more

This place was BOMB! Loved everything from the service to the food and even the menu was impressive. Impressive meaning they literally had a picture for every food item on the menu ( helps allot). Everything cooked and seasoned to perfection Good amount and reasonably priced. Doesn't look like a place that has dine in till you get in there but it does. Customer service was great. The food taste authentic and the spring rolls literally melt in your mouth. Soooo good Plus its next door to the best donut shop in town which is teddy's donuts what's not to love!? We used to go here all the time when we maintained a condo here in Palm Desert. We revisited it during a spa trip in Desert Hot Springs, for takeout. We had the duck and noodle soup with shrimp added, the crispy salt and pepper chicken wings and the steamed shrimp hargow, all for takeout. Be aware - if the phone rings while you are at the counter placing a takeout order, that phone call, however long it takes (such as for another takeout order), will take precedence! Everything was very good although the chicken wings could have been crispier - maybe they softened during the drive back to our resort. Prices are reasonable. Visiting from LA and found this place on Google. Ordered online for pick-up and chose to pay in cash. It gave me a total amount for the meal online. When I got there to pay, I was given a total that matched my bill. BUT the owner a woman came over and started calculating and when I gave her cash she shorted me. I said online it's this amount. The last time I was here, almost everything wasn't edible at all. It all tasted also and that's not like the old Da Chef Noodle I remember. My husband and I were passing through and looking for a good place to eat. We saw that Da Chef Noodle had a pretty good popularity score and me being Chinese couldn't resist when I saw that they offered Dim Sum. We arrived before 5 p.m. so there were no patrons in the restaurant for dinner, however one gentleman had just exited the establishment with a take-out order as we arrived. Da Chef Noodle offered half price Dim Sum with the purchase of $20 or more so we jumped at the deal. My husband ordered Beef Chow Fun and and a Diet Coke and I ordered Noodle Soup with Chinese Roast Duck. In addition, we ordered Sui Mei, Char Sui Bau, and Har Gow...which are our favorite Dim Sums. Surprisingly, our Entrees arrived before the Dim Sum. The Beef Chow Fun was delicious. My Noodle Soup with Chinese Roast Duck was good but the noodles were a bit too soft. However, when it came to the Dim Sum, thumbs down!! The Char Sui Bau is obviously from a frozen packet that was just heated up. And, it wasn't even heated up via steaming like it was suppose to be. The bottom was a bit crusty. It was basically pork (not BBQ pork) buns without much flavor. It was served with a saucer of soy sauce. Disappointing but we ate 3 of the 4. The Har Gow were very disappointing. The steamed dough had a weird texture, as did the shrimp stuffing. We each ate one and decided not to try any more. The Sui Mei did not look appetizing but we each tried one. We were very disappointed. We left all the rest of the Dim Sum for disposal but we did take our leftover entrees. The restaurant will do better to leave out subpar Dim Sum off their menu. Even at half price, it was not worth it. In our minds, the poor quality Dim Sui gives not Asians a poor Dim Sum experience. When it's too good to be true, it probably is. In this case, the Dim Sum caused me to down grade our dining experience from 4 stars to 2 1/2 but we could only give a 2 or 3. I kept passing by this place and wanted to try it. Finally today I did and, although, some of my food taste great another did not. The BBQ pork noodle soup was super good. The broth was very flavorful. The salty calamari was AMAZING!!! The fried rice was awful! No flavor whatsoever! Not a pinch of salt and i found huge pieces of egg shell in the rice! This is the "Roast Duck" that I ordered. It's fucking disgusting. If Gordon Ramsey ate this shit he would've started to throw a fit. This duck tasted awful. It was old and recooked a million times. I complained to the waitress and she said "it's our new cooker".... bruhhhh! but she was nice enough to let me order something new.. Braised pork ribs.. and that tasted like shit too. First of all, the food was excellent! The wonton soup is full of fresh wontons, pieces of chicken, pork, and tender shrimp. There are greens included. The lo mein chicken was a huge portion, seasoned perfectly. The fried dumplings were very fresh. That's for the food! Now, we get to the service. I know a lot of Chinese restaurants serve family style (plates to share), but we ordered our own. I asked the waiter to pick a noodle dish with chicken for my daughter, explaining that my daughter wasn't sure what to order and that she liked noodles and chicken. I ordered the wonton soup. We also ordered fried dumplings to share. Firstly, he brought my ice tea, plopping it down in front of my daughter. She figured it was hers, so she tangled with the straw. I finally had to put my foot down (theoretically) and pull the iced tea to my side of the table. Then he brought her drink and plopped that down in front of her (the top plastic cover didn't fit the cup well and it kept pooping up, splattering ME, in my cream linen top, with her chai tea). The chai tea was very good, btw. Then the waiter brought out my soup and plopped it down in front of my daughter (do you see a pattern here? What am I, chopped liver?). So then my daughter promptly started eating my soup. I didn't know what the waiter selected for my daughter's chicken and noodle dish, so I didn't say anything. Not until he brought out the lo mein, plopping it down in front of my daughter. Okay, by this time, I started getting aggravated. I had to explain the situation to my daughter, who had eaten all but one wonton, the pork, chicken, and shrimp. She's definitely a carnivore... I asked the waiter to bring some more wontons for the soup. The guy doesn't know how to serve food! People don't share a medium wonton soup! A large, yes...but not a medium. Then my fork goes sliding off the table. The waiter was standing right next to us, waiting on the table closest to ours.. The whole restaurant heard it. I wasn't going to pick up my fork from the floor and use it. He never brought me a clean fork and I didn't ask for one. He seemed very inconvenienced and the restaurant was fairly full. I also ordered one half Peking Duck to-go when we ordered our lunch. You have to do so because it takes 30 minutes to prepare, That was delicious....my husband enjoyed it with hoisin sauce and Chinese pancakes. They were out of many of the items listed for sale on their website ... after they accepted and I placed my order on line. I arranged for a pick up. I went to pick up and they said many of the items on website were foreign to staff! They said they don't sell /offer many of those dishes. Said they didn't have bao as manufacturer did not ship. The Mongolian beef is excellent! I ordered it medium spicy and it was perfectly medium spicy. While I agree with other reviewers that it had too much onion, that doesn't mean there wasn't enough beef for the price. They just put in a wasteful amount of onion so there's definitely too much onion left over at the end. They should consider putting in less onion. It's also made very hot to go so even with a 15 min drive back after pickup, it was perfectly warm to eat. read more

The 3 star rating has more to do with cleanliness, menu and value than quality of food or service. That being said, my experience was still rather enjoyable. As you can see by my photos, the menus (not sure why there are two) leave a lot to be desired and every table had that dried dirty water streaking on them. I had the "Lomein+noodle+with+chicken" and the "Chef fried dumpling". Both were what I expected in quality and portion, but in a place that Cleary cuts corners at every turn, I would expect everything to be about $1-$2 less. Overall, service, food quality and selection saved this place from a 2 star rating. Not much competition for this cuisine locally, so if you're craving Asian noodle dishes, this is probably your only bet. Remember, if customers don't politely give feedback on what they can improve on, it will likely never change. 3 months later... New menus are great! Especially the Specials menu with popular favorites. read more
