The wait was long and the staff unhelpful. I asked if I could add protein to my bowl--pretty standard ask. That's when I was told their bowls aren't real bowls that are blended they're just sorbet. Sorbet?? That's not an acai bowl--if I wanted sorbet I would have gone to the frozen yogurt place next door. Against my better judgement got the bowl anyway--it's hot and I didn't have time to go elsewhere. Got the bowl, and the guy wasn't kidding. There are two big scoops of sorbet and toppings just haphazardly. I've yet to try it, so it might taste good but if you're looking for a healthy snack/light meal this isn't the place. ~-| Update |~ Weak container crunched when I took it out of the bag and exploded everywhere. Putting bowls in a thin aluminum pasta takeout container isn't a good idea. I'm also not sure how I'm supposed to eat this with the fork they gave me. It is two stores down from the infamous Porto's, so parking sucks (get ready to wait for metered street parking or park in the back lot that is shared by a couple of stores on Brand including Porto's). Their breakfast burritos are AMAZING, I usually opt for the veggie burrito (eggs, mashed potatoes, onion and pepper, you can add other things too). The smoothies are also amazing, I have gotten the Acai Berry Smoothie a couple times and it's good and healthy too! I haven't tried too many of their other sandwiches but I hear good things about their veggie burgers. I'm knocking off a star because the workers could ATTEMPT to be a little more friendly! I thought getting the combo would be cheaper and more filling but not only was it smaller but it was like $1 cheaper. Parking up front is a joke, as Da Juice sits on a busy street shared with lots of other shops & eateries. However, there is parking in the back. There was only one person ahead of me when I got inside, so I was able to order nearly instantly. The girl taking my order was left a bitter taste in my mouth, sad to say. She stood at the register, didn't greet me, and just stared at me until I looked at her and said "Hi, sorry. The menu has lots of choices. It's hard to choose." Still saying nothing. So I asked, "May I order?" To her short response, "What are you getting?" I ordered the Carrot, strawberry, banana smoothie, and ordered a serving of spirulina in it. (You get one free nutritional boost in smoothies.) She flipped the screen my way, without even telling me the total, and I paid. My smoothie was done in less than 2 minutes, by 2 other staff (who clearly must not like each other, because there was no communication, smiles, interaction; what so ever.) She (the hostess) put my smoothie on the counter and says, "It's ready." However, there was no spirulina in my smoothie, so I ask her if she can add it in. She says, "Well it's going to be a couple minutes cause now i need to make a whole new smoothie." At this point, I was fed up with her ugly attitude, so I replied. "It's not that big of a deal to put in a scoop of powder I asked for and just throw it back in the blender. There's no need to remake the smoothie." I think that left her dumbfounded, and hopefully put her in check. When I left I said, "I hope you're more pleasant to the rest of customers today, and I hope you get to take a nap. Decided to try their fruit smoothie for the first time. I exactly like how my rock berry smoothie turned out (it consists of apple juice, blueberry, banana,and strawberry)- not only that you can interchange the fruits you if you don't like their listed combinations on the menu. I usually ordered my smoothies from Jamba juice and Robeks due to popularity. Now, I like reading and noticed that some options on the menu did say mashed potatoes which I though was peculiar to put on sandwiches or in burritos (my friend had some in his burrito which he thought was interesting but seemed to enjoy anyway), but since my sandwich said 'house potatoes' or something along those lines I wasn't really trippin' and I thought that's what he gets for not properly reading. My friend got his food... people who ordered after me got theirs.. my friend is close to finishing his food, when I go ask an employee what's going on and they say their sorry, they'll check. I finally get it a few minutes later (overall I'd say it took 30ish mins to get; not too long, but just long enough). At this point my friend is done, I finally get my food and decide to walk home and eat it. So when I get home, surprise surprise it's loaded with mashed potatoes. Over all it's a great place and I've been here countless times for their green smoothie. Only complaint is that each time I've watched them make the green smoothie I've never seen them put the wheatgrass or parsley. Wheatgrass they usually have to cut off and I'm pretty sure if not all most of the green veggies are stored separately. And have only seen them grab from the kale and spinach. Anyway one day I went in and this time I made sure to tell the girl working if they can please make sure the parsley and wheatgrass went in because I've noticed it never does and she went and whispered something to the other person who was making the smoothie and that person did indeed grab both. This place had a really great variety selection of light, yet satisfying choices. For a late breakfast, I ordered the 1/2 ACAI and 1/2 PITAYA bowl with was topped with granola banana and strawberries. For the price the size was perfect. I felt full, but not heavy after the bowl. Although the PITAYA was a bit icy in texture, so obviously that was frozen. The icy texture kinda threw it off just a little bit, but it didn't really bother me as much as it did for my friend who also tried it.
