I asked him for some ice and he promptly brought two cups. The patio was lovely! Not much of a view as they had a big fence blocking it, but it still felt very open and breezy. It's a welcoming place, casual, laid back, and though I haven't been there during too many sports games, even when it's on, it doesn't seem to get too rowdy. Brunch is a must do, with options like the Benny flight. Definitely one of the less known brunch spots in my opinion, but even so, can still get busy so go early. Only reason I've done 4 stars is I've had a few times where service was a little slow. Would absolutely return again and again and have recommended to many friends. Once you do finally get a server to come to the table, interactions often feel rushed, leaving little opportunity to ask questions or make simple modifications to an order. Don't plan on asking for salad with that burger instead of fries, you won't have a chance! Unless there are meaningful improvements in customer service, I do not plan to return.

Upon arrival to our house, the order was incorrect, whoopsie! We called back and the waiter who answered mentioned that we had accidentally taken a staff meal home. None of our to-go boxes were labeled. How could anyone know? This is a rookie mistake. It's been a while since this Goblin worked in food, but that's a non-negotiable. Especially given a place that prides itself on catering to restricted diets and lifestyles. This is exactly how you let a pumpkin seed slide into a seed allergy order. Instead of letting us keep the meal, she asked us to bring it back to the restaurant. We were happy to do so. Everyone deserves to eat. Should we have kept it for ourselves? We bring the food back, and the waiter explains that there was a mixup, and apologized. They handed us another to-go box (which wasn't labeled) and tried to end the conversation. "Have a good night!" We had to then explain to this waiter that our wives demanded something in return for the error, which was true. The waiter/bartender had a puzzled look on their face. Customer? Demanding I make something right? In my workplace?! A direct statement void of passivity about the quality of my service? With conditions? The audacity! We live in a world where we, the customer, bring back your incorrect order for you, waste our time, and we just get a, "thanks, have a good night!" This goblin had to claw his way up the ranks pillaging for gold which doesn't come easy. Everyone knows food cost in Seattle went up ~%46 since 2019. Wages haven't. We told the waiter our wives wanted a slice of cake. The waiter was shook by our audacity, and moved towards the fridge behind the bar to consult with two chefs who were shutting it down. We were arriving near/at close on a Monday. The other two chefs body language exuded "just give them the rest of the cake". There was a couple moments of pause and hushed conversation. The waiter pulled out a large serving plate with only a small chunk of Chocolate Mousse Cake left. Instead of putting that into a box, apologizing, and fixing the problem. They conferred about the legitimacy of our claim with the chefs. Hesitantly, they cut the cake into a small slice, put it in a box (which wasn't labeled) and handed it to us. What's hilarious is that they would leave such a small piece going into the next day of prep. Why not just 86 it right there? Why was it so hard for this person to acknowledge they made a mistake, and do something kind for us in return? The chefs clearly understood these fundamental building blocks of customer service, had they not been there in the front of house, I'm sure the waiter would've made an excuse to not remedy the situation. From all of my years in food service, if something is wrong, you make it right, end of story. By owning the error, you keep your integrity. Even a small gesture like 10% off one item, between the hours of 7:35pm- 7:45pm every third Monday, however inconsequential and trivial, makes people feel like you've made things right. These basics need to be addressed with FOH staff. With food cost nearing the price of rent each month in Seattle, customers should feel empowered to speak their mind respectfully. My only reason for going into excruciating detail is the hope that this can be a teaching moment, and more people can eradicate passivity. Passivity is a threat to community, culture, service, and so many other integral parts of our society. It's OK to disagree in public. It's OK to check someone. It's OK to tell your server "No, honestly, it wasn't that good, here's why..". When we deny the truth about our experiences for fear of disrupting the status quo, we withhold an essential part of building stronger, more diverse and resilient communities. "Goblin D, don't you think this is a bit too deep for a food review?" No, and if you've made it this far, the two stars are for the two chefs who made sure we got our cake.

I have tried so hard to find a pho I like better then Than Brothers. In 15 years of regular pho consumption I'd not found a broth or ingredients that I liked more...until today! Too tired to cook after a busy day of soccer I Postmate'd a Pho Ga and spring rolls from one of the few restaurants open not in the WS Junction (Summer Fest night). Reviews were good so I took a gamble. YUMMMMMO! Spectacular broth, perfect shredded chicken, and noodles were just perfect. Rolls were rockin too! Than Brothers who??? I'm a regular here, I usually get the Mì Quảng, but today I went with the Phở. It was good, better than some Vietnamese spots I've tried. The broth was flavorful, you can tell it's been simmered for hours. Portion was solid ,I got extra meat and meatballs and it was still worth it. Prices are fair, staff was nice and checked on us to make sure everything was good. Definitely coming back to try more stuff. read more

I ask how much longer for the tater tots would take he said he could get those to me in 3 min. I was hungry and we needed to eat something so i said sure. I waited and then i noticed my number was gone and they weren't moving any faster so I went back in line to ask for the refund for my tots. The guy helping me was not helpful. He tried to convince me to wait for the tots. There were people behind me also asking for refunds because they had waited for an hour plus. The most frustrating thing was that they kept taking online orders. There were orders coming in from online orders yet they weren't even putting out the people present. And the fact that they didn't let us know things were out of stock is so unprofessional. I saved the receipts of the refunds because I don't know if they really will refund us. Save your money, time and energy. Go somewhere else.

This indoor restaurant is close to the streets of Rainier Ave and there is unmarked parking all along S Grand St you can utilize, but it can be nearly full like on the Saturday noon around 12:30pm I came here with parents. It is in the same building as the Melody Jabooda Apartments, and is pretty compact inside. There's several small tables inside than can fit a max of 3 people, yet the interior muffles the bulk of the noisy traffic on Rainier Ave. There's some decor on the walls and near the counter where the kitchen is, and the counter to order is almost directly in front of the entrance. Phone reception inside was iffy, as I had to go outside the building to check into here on the Yelp app. Seating was full, mostly from patrons ordering and taking their goods to go but with some actually dining in. For a place that serves banh mi, they also have pho, bun, Vietnamese coffee, lattes and matcha drinks. Several of the drinks are also available in hot formats, and all drinks cost the same except for Vietnamese coffee and lattes which cost $1.95 and $1 less before tax, respectively. There are different price tags for the hot drinks. Banh mi sandwiches also come in bags that look like they could be used for roasted coffee beans - they're dark brown and are about the same size as store-bought coffee bean bags. What a coincidence given they also serve coffee! We got many things from here: - Old school Vietnamese coffee ($7, hot): according to my dad (and me after having several sips), this unfortunately tasted more like American coffee; it was missing sweetened condensed milk to make it more like so, and the coffee itself wasn't strong. It seems regular milk was used as the sweetener instead. - Oolong house blend ($8.95): your standard milk tea. I added both grass jelly and tapioca onto this. Mom liked this and had no complaints; I had a sip and thought it was pretty good too. - Grilled pork banh mi sandwich ($9.95, medium toast): I partially shared this one with my mom. Grilled pork is all right at best, otherwise it has all the works of a great banh mi. We'd still prefer the one from Q Bakery for now. - Butterfly matcha: the butterfly pea flower in this drink created a blue hue inside the drink in its own layer and essentially enhanced the ceremonial matcha taste a lot more, since it tasted more woody and earthier than usual once I mixed everything. It's also sweet enough to satisfy any matcha lover out there. I loved this drink a lot and would highly recommend! - House special banh mi sandwich ($10.95, medium toast): this sandwich is much larger than I expected, and comes with Vietnamese ham, pork ham, pate, jalapeños and what looked like Chinese sausage along with the same works as the grilled pork. Everything went well together and it was loaded! All meats were fresh and just this sandwich alone made me really full. Another high recommend! I really appreciated the staff for asking all the clarifying questions for our banh mi sandwiches and drinks, like how toasted we wanted our sandwiches, the sweetness and ice levels of our drinks, and toppings for those drinks. They also let me and other patrons in line know of wait times for our food, with my order being quoted about 15 minutes and coming out by that timeframe. No broth choices, no inquiries. When my wife asked for a chicken banh mi with no mayo, they spun around and didn't ask her at all what she wanted inside. When they delivered the sandwich... of course it was slathered with mayo. I asked if this location had bun, and the cashier started explaining the two types of noodles in a Vietnamese restaurant. It's 2026. There is no more "secret" food. I just wanted to know if bun salad was available. I've been eating pho very regularly since 1992. It's hard to surprise me. But this was the least valuable pho I've ever had. I got two pieces of fat with almost no meat as my protein. For a $20 bowl. I'd happily pay this for 2 actual pieces of oxtail. I don't even know where you find cuts this poor. See my photo. The two bits you see are all that was in the bowl. I hadn't taken a single bite yet. The two stars are for the delicious broth and clean environment.
