Branzino with a mix of vegetable's!

What a beautiful classy restaurant to celebrate our Anniversary. The service is 5 stars and I'd give 6 if it was an option! The food is so fresh and delicious, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The pizza, fresh fish, vegetables, pasta, are all so great. The bread and oil they serve along with everything is so delicious as well. And seriously, I don't know of anywhere that has service like this place. It is the ultimate dining experience! We enjoyed our anniversary so much here and they made it so special. 5 stars for the win! Give them a try, you will not be disappointed!

The first time I went to Da Marcos was back when b4-u-eat was still around and I provided a review of their establishment regarding the poor treatment we received by their server and manager. Fast forward 15ish years later (yikes, I'm old) and I decided to visit again for their unforgettable alba white truffle tagliolini. The ambiance is very intimate and the lighting on the tables were just perfect. The mini table lamps were spot on for the intimacy vibe of seeing the food in an appealing lighting before you gobble it up. Appetizers: Octopus 5/5 The dish was explained perfectly by the waiter as "soft inside but lightly crisp on the outside" if you like octopus, try this! Or if u don't like octopus, you'll like it after this dish. Branzino carpaccio with foie gras 3.5/5 the foie gras could've used more salt or balsamic reduction. The acidity of the carpaccio cut the foie gras fat but it did confuse me on how I normally have foie gras, the dish didnt match. There was an overwhelming amount of pine nuts on this dish. Pasta Alba white truffle tagliolini 5/5 It was exactly how I remember it. As soon as the server came out with the truffle, the smell permeated the air. By the end of our dinner, every table was getting this dish. Beautiful presentation, probably 2000 calories in the plate, the taste is unexplainable. I was smelling truffle in my breath the rest of the night. The pasta was al dente, the sauce was saucy buttery and truffley. A must try. I was disappointed we didn't get the ice cream with it afterwards like some tables did. Ravioli cacio e pepe 5/5 This was my favorite dish. I could've stopped eating after this dish. Each ravioli was soft, cooked perfectly, the cheese stuffing was sweet and the sauce balanced the sweetness. The fried guanciale reminded me of breakfast bacon, I didn't think it added much to the dish other than texture. Entree Veal porterhouse with parmesan rissoto 5/5 I was jealous of my husband for getting it. I wanted to trade. The veal was cooked closer to medium as recommended. Perfectly pink. Perfectly seasoned. I'm normally a salt dipper for my steaks but this was Perfectly seasoned and tender. The rissoto was cooked softer and came with paper thin shavings of parmesan that melted in your mouth. Short rib with burrata rissoto 4/5 I would've rated this a 5/5 if they gave me something to cut the richness. The sauce was an elegant barbecue sauce. The rissoto was more al dente and the flavor of the cheese was more on the mild side, balanced with the short rib sauce. I could've used a sweet or sour element to cut the richness. But still a beautiful and tasty dish. Dessert: get the Panna cotta extra sabaaaaaa!!!!

Whenever we are in town, we make a point to enjoy the amazing service and tantalizing flavors of Da Marco. From the nonstop bread service and high quality EVOO to the show stopping branzino carpaccio with seared foie gras, dining here is a treat. Appetizers like the perfectly cooked scallops in limoncello sauce and the tender octopus are winners. The sweet corn ravioli with hearty chunks of lobster will be seared into your memory. Lamp chops and creamy uni pasta are tasty. Short ribs aren't fall apart in your mouth good but the accompanying side of mozzarella risotto is the perfect al dente bite. For dessert, the caramelized bananas on the chocolate cake add a nice textural element to the moist, rich cake. A lovely dinner with friends in an intimate setting with the most attentive service... that's the Da Marco experience.

Where do I begin...DaMarco was absolutely amazing! The staff was excellent, the food was excellent and the atmosphere was relaxing. I found this restaurant on google and we decided to give it a try while celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary. Our needs were always anticipated before we could ask. Our drinks were perfect and the food was delicious. DaMarco exceeded our expectations and we will definitely dine there again when we are in Houston.

Antinori Muffato on the dessert wine list means this is truly going to be a spectacular Italian dining experience. They have a nice selection of wines by the glass. Warm toasty bread is addictive Octopus appetizer is a winner- perfectly grilled to make the suctions on the tentacles nice and crispy and lightly flavored with citrus. Rabbit pasta is amazing and perfectly light. The sauce enhances the succulent Bunny. Boar pasta is also a treat with good amount of meat and the pasta was also perfectly al Dente. Chianti braised short ribs was s good amount and glad we shared the cheesy risotto. Panda cotta has a great texture. The gelato was creamy. We loved our glass of Antinori muffato. Outstanding service and five star dining. Highly recommended!

Sweet corn ravioli, it was ok, I almost wish it was a lobster ravioli, I liked the sauce alot, but was not as savory as I wanted

Good service, black truffle risotto was the star of the show. Very busy Saturday night. Place seems to be doing well!

Cacio Pepe Ravioli (guanciale on the side as I'm a vegetarian)...to die for!

Incredible high-end, yet neighborhood vibe here- food makes me want to cry because I don't want it to end. Service is impeccable. Seriously feels like the Godfather could walk in at any moment. Luis (both of them) are great bartenders. Love love love this place

One word for this place: phenomenal. I always have room for pasta. I came in for an anniversary lunch and oh boy, did we spend big bucks. You get complimentary valet in this semi spacious lot, as you enter you're greeted before a hostess, then taken to the dining area which was very formal with white linen table tops, a center piece, and utensils aligned perfectly for your meal. Someone brings you this appetizer that I couldn't explain what it was, but a nice start to a meal. Zucchini toast with some oomf. You are also given bread and butter. We ordered the white truffle pasta as an appetizer. Yes... pasta for an appetizer... We shared, and it was a great size to share! Definitely a pricey app costing at $110. A beautiful presentation and delicious one at that!! They put the fresh white truffle at the table and you are given table side twisted fresh pasta in this delectable sauce and fresh shaved truffle to top it off. I do want to say this was my favorite in comparison to two other truffle pastas I've had. It was light, sauce was perfectly salted and it was so creamy. I wish I could've licked the plate but that would've been embarrassing. Instead use your bread to soak all of that delicious sauce. I got the corn and lobster ravioli, and wow that was special. I loved how the corn brought the dish sweetness, lobster was butter forward and the pasta was fresh and chewy. You can absolutely tell that this pasta was homemade. The sauce brought it all together and it was just so special. I recommend this!! My boyfriend got the pappadelli pasta with wild boar. Sounds interesting and it was. I was scared that the boar would be too tough but it was not!! It had a great scent and it was soft and tender! I liked this one too!! The chocolate cake with bruleed banana and banana ice cream was okay. I definitely would come here just for the entrees. But they were sweet enough to write happy anniversary for us! My overall experience was magnificent. Starting from the service, to the quiet/intimate atmosphere, to the great quality food, to the end where everyone thanked us for our business. I will definitely be coming back soon.

Do delivery services work here, Uber Eats for example?

Hi Bart! Yes, the preferred service is Favor. Hope to serve you soon.

What is the dress code for dinner?

I actually do think they have a policy about no shorts for dinner so business casual or better will be fine.

The lighting and atmosphere was perfect for a quaint date night. And I want to know what jazz playlist they were playing because it was great. What blew it out of the water was the service, particularly by the owner himself. As someone who works in the restaurant industry, having the owner on the floor is almost never seen. But this man was working all jobs: helping the hostess when she got super busy, food running, bussing, checking up on all tables, doing the best for everyone. Plus, he was incredibly kind with an amazing smile. Idk what he saw in my partner and I, but he gave us tiramisu on the house. We are not fancy influencers or rich folk, and I feel that was kinda obvious. But I think he did it just to make our date night a lil bit more special. And that kind of effort should be rewarded.

I've had Mimo on my radar for a couple of years, but somehow I never found the right occasion to finally give it a try. Well, celebrating both my birthday and wedding anniversary seemed like a pretty good reason! I must say, Mimo had to fight hard to earn those five stars. The experience was memorable, not necessarily because it was perfect, but because it wasn't. The imperfections, oddly enough, are what made it memorable. Let's start with the menu. There aren't many dishes, which is generally speaking a good sign these days. There's really no excuse not to use fresh ingredients when you're working with a smaller menu. At the same time, I wouldn't say the offerings were particularly adventurous. That said, the quality was definitely there. We started with the Fritter as an appetizer, and it was super delicious. The combination of fried zucchini, corn, and that touch of honey somehow really worked! Then we ordered a pasta dish each, under the common assumption that a pasta dish in most Italian restaurants (including the ones in Italy) is supposed to be filling. Well... no! These were pretty small. I ordered the spaghetti al limone, while my wife went for the gnocchi. Both were good, although the spaghetti were cooked somewhere on the borderline between al dente and chewy. The corn in the gnocchi also felt a little alien, like it didn't really belong there. Still, we couldn't deny that the flavors were good and the ingredients were fresh. Oddly enough, we were still hungry, so we ordered a second dish each: the Pork Milanese for me and the Pesce del Giorno for my wife. And this is where Mimo saved the day! The Pork Milanese, with mortadella and pecorino cheese on top, was delicious. And the polenta that came with my wife's dish was one of the best I've ever had. Interestingly, these dishes were disproportionately larger, more than making up for the minuscule portions of the pasta dishes. So, I guess it all worked out in the end! Another date saver was the service. It was outstanding. Attentive, friendly, and exactly what you would expect from a restaurant trying to create a special experience. Then came dessert: the Zeppole. It was good, but nothing particularly special. To me, it tasted like churros made with a dough that incorporated ricotta. Not bad at all, just not something I'll be dreaming about later. And that was our experience at Mimo! I think the review probably benefited from the fact that I was there celebrating a special occasion. It was a somewhat strange experience, with some ups and downs, but we genuinely enjoyed it. Would I be back? Possibly... Four stars stretched to five? Yeah... FIVE Stars!

The staff is super friendly, and we were welcomed as we were (we had hoped to eat at a sister establishment but they sold out of what we wanted). Mimo's offers a great selection of Italian inspired apps, three well appointed pizzas, a few varied and surprising options for pasta dishes, and some mains. Items we tried: Pane - delicious Roasted Carrot Pizza - AMAZING, A little spicy, but definitely something we would order again. Pastas we ordered initially came out cold - our incredible waiter immediately corrected the issue. But from a flavor profile - Pansotti - sooooo delicious. You'd never guess that it was a vegetarian option - the mushrooms were so meaty. The delicate pouches with the spinach and ricotta were heavenly. Pappardelle - The lamb braised sauce had a depth of flavor that could rival any restaurant in Italy. My only tiny hope was that the pasta would have been served aldente, it was a little overcooked. But to each his own. Overall - really great. Would recommend. This would be great for a weeknight dinner or an off the beaten path date night.

We ordered the tiramisu for dessert, and nowhere on the menu did it mention that it was served with a slice of kiwi hidden underneath the whipped cream. I'm allergic to kiwi, and because it was completely covered, I didn't realize it was there until after I had already taken a bite. I brought this to our server's attention, not because I was looking for a discount or anything free, but simply because I wanted the staff to be aware so this wouldn't happen to another customer with a food allergy. Instead, the first response I received was asking if I had read the menu, which I had. Unfortunately, the menu never mentioned kiwi being part of the dessert. What really bothered me was overhearing the conversation afterward. Our server spoke with another staff member a few booths away, and I heard comments along the lines of, "Well, he should've mentioned his allergy," and "He should've asked." It felt like the responsibility was being placed entirely on me rather than acknowledging that an undisclosed ingredient had been served. I understand that customers with allergies should communicate them whenever possible, but I also think restaurants have a responsibility to disclose ingredients that aren't typically expected, especially when they're hidden in the presentation. I've had tiramisu many times and have never encountered one served with kiwi tucked beneath whipped cream. Again, the food itself was good, and this review isn't about trying to get compensation. I genuinely wanted to help prevent a similar situation for someone else. Unfortunately, the way my concern was handled left me feeling dismissed and caused me to lose confidence in the restaurant's approach to food allergies.
