Nando and his staff have created an amazing environment where great food and great people come together. You can walk in the door on your first visit as a complete stranger and leave there feeling like family. Being Italian American and having moved up to Buffalo from New Jersey, the authentic Italian food is something that can be a bit harder to find up here in Buffalo and is something I've definitely missed. I'm so glad that da Nando is here now to fill that void. Please give this place and a chance and I promise you will not be disappointed! I highly recommend the Meatball Culetto as the meatballs are absolutely incredible but you really can't go wrong with whatever you get here everything is high quality stuff and Nando always presents and talks about his food with such pride. For Starters, Nando, the owner, is a great guy!! The minute we arrived he was serving us samples of the wonderful bread, the soppressata and the delicious provolone that brought me back to what my father always bought. All imported and you could definitely taste the difference. We started with the traditional Sicilian salad, which was more than we could ever finish in one seating. Then the pasta! Being Italian, and growing up with wonderful sauce my grandmother, mother and all my aunts would make, there are very few places where I enjoy the sauce. This is definitely one of them. Walked in to be greeted by the owner who was working with a party. Staff was very attentive and answered all my questions. Owner came over and provided additional information on their homemade cannoli and sfogliatelle with ingredients from Italy! He couldn't have been more friendly, helpful, and genuinely happy I was a repeat customer (first time in the location as I had it brought by friends in the past). When you come to Da Nando you aren't just ordering food and eating. It's an experience from start to finish. The staff is very passionate about what they do. They want to make sure you know what you are getting and help you every step of the way. These are imported Italian Deli Meats, not the stuff you get at the supermarket. If you are unsure of what to get they offer samples to help you decide. The bread for the culetto is hollowed out so it can fill the sandwich with meats and toppings which I loved so you don't feel like you just ate a loaf of bread. MUST TRY! There's a lot of good to say about this restaurant. I'll start out by saying if you want Subway, go to Subway. This ain't that. This restaurant is owned and operated by a small business owner named Nando. I know that because when we walked in he greeted us warmly along with two other very friendly staff members. He uses only the finest meats, cheeses, fresh ingredients, fresh home made loaves of delicious Italian bread. All of which he explains where it comes from and how it's made. No cheap mystery meats here. The food and service were outstanding. The atmosphere, once you take everything in, was soul touching. From the mother memorial wall, the beautiful prayer boards, to the warm smell of fresh bread all in a clean quaint space. Take the time to enjoy the quality of food and service, you won't be disappointed! Nando has a quote up for all to see. My mother recently asked me to go with her to Da Nando's for dinner. She had been once and wanted me to try it. Love that parking is not an issue here. We walked in and were greeted by the men behind the counter. They were so friendly and it was definitely an experience, not just food. The employees (all 3 of them) were excited to show me everything. They gave my mom and I pieces of everything to try before we decided. We each even got a little meatballs to try. I decided on a meatball culetto and my mom got an assorted culetto. We both really enjoyed our food. I probably wouldn't get the meatball culetto again but would go back to try a different culetto. Was looking for a good sandwich & salad spot near the airport when we flew into town, saw positive reviews for Da Nando, so we decided to check it out. It was just as advertised! It's not a big place, has just a handful of tables because a lot of its business is takeout, but Nando and his staff make you feel welcome right away. When they found out we were first timers, Nando offered us some of his homemade sourdough bread and some parmesano cheese to try. We were looking for a light lunch, so we each got a salad and split an order of meatballs, and they were very tasty. Went to Da Nando for lunch with a friend. We didn't enjoy it very much. The food we each ordered a meatball sandwich on fresh bread they were pushing as the special. It was okay but not great. The food wasn't bad but not very good either. The bread/roll sandwich is served in a cup lined with foil rather than on a plate. Just hated that !!! Impossible to lay it down between bites as the cup tips over. The meatballs did not taste homemade but rather like those you'd buy in the freezer section of the grocery and the sauce was meh. They put a bit of sauce on top and a sprinkle of parm. You're given very small and flimsy fork and spoon but no knife -Went to the counter and asked for a knife so we could try and cut it into smaller, polite and comfortable to eat pieces. A nice gentleman at the counter first offered a plastic knife but then did find a sort of steak knife behind the pans for us to use although to no avail because as I said earlier, the sandwich is in a cup. Also got a small cup of their soup,, Italian Wedding that was okay but looked and tasted as it likely came from a can. The drinks on offer are very limited and are all bottled including water. It was a chilly and rainy May day and the restaurant was cold enough that all customers had to sit and eat with their coat on so you couldn't really be relaxed and comfortable. There wasn't a menu available to preview so you're stuck having to read the menu on the wall with on the day we went had sun glaring on it so actually reading it was difficult and in certain parts where the sun was strongest, impossible. The worst sin, IMHO is the fact that they charged my friends card more than the bill's total. Total bill (2 sandwiches, 2 bottles of water and a small soup) $45.42 but charged $47.24 She didn't realize that until today or she would have approached them about it when we were there. read more

10/10 experience!! If I could give it more then 5 stars I would. The guys working there were amazing, they were very excited to be making sandwiches for us and gave us lots of samples. The indigents they have are all amazing! I loved all the meets I tried and their sauces are all really good. They have an amazing homemade spicy mustard and balsamic. Although their meatballs are really good I would say that the rest of their ingredients may be even better! I tried both the meatball sub that my brother got (which was awesome) and a sandwich they made for me. Both were incredible! So glad we stopped here on our road trip. I would 100% go back if I am ever in buffalo again and would recommend to anyone around here. Good food, good service and fun atmosphere!
