Wow. What a great place for BBQ. Never thought this would be so good. It's a small diner car and it's decorated perfectly. The employees are awesome, friendly and heloful. There is so much to choose from. They also have lots of choices to choose besides BBQ and I bet all food is good as well. Portions are big and you won't go leaving hungry. When asked where I'd like to eat, I always think first about the Smokin' Little Diner. It's well worth the drive from anywhere! I especially love the Hawg Wings and the Brisket Plate. Went back because first visit was so good! This time I pre ordered for a lunch.. I called in the day before. Ordering was easy and the person was very friendly on the phone. Food was ready about five minutes after my scheduled time, which for as busy as they were, I thought that was great timing. Ordered the big sampler, with pulled chicken, pulled pork, brisket and ribs! Platter is a nice size with large portions, four of us ate on it. The pulled chicken for me was a stand out, so good! 10 piece chicken wings, cheeseburger with fries, pizza logs and crab cake platter. For our sides we tried the mac and cheese, pasta salad, baked beans, mash potatoes and sweet potatoe fries. Everything was good and would get again, except the crab cakes. These were just not good, very fishy, and burnt. The pizza logs were huge! The Mac and cheese had no seasoning, but was cheesy and after little salt and pepper wasn't to bad. It's a tiny place so be prepared for a wait if it's busy...but it's worth the wait. We were greeted by a frie day and attentive staff. So attentive that there were 2 groups ahead if us entering and the hostess had already put us on the waiting list for a table before we could get inside. My son and girlfriend joined me this morning for breakfast. I had the BBQ breakfast which was eggs, toast, home fries (with or without onions), pulled pork (or chicken) covered in cheese and your choice of one of their many BBQ sauces. The Smokin' Little Diner opens a bit late, in my opinion, not until 9am and does not lie with "little" being in its name. There's counter seating and around 10 tables. From my experience here, if you want to get a seat right away, you're gonna want to be there either before or right when they open. The service was friendly and efficient. It is decorated in a pig theme like a few other BBQ joints I've been to. I ordered a brisket omelette because when you can have BBQ for breakfast why would you order anything else?! Others dishes included country fried steak, pulled pork and a western omelette. My omelette was decent, but I wish I would have ordered the BBQ sauce in the side because it was overwhelming and I really couldn't taste the smokiness of the brisket; when you've got a smoked meat, ya wanna taste it! I couldn't understand why they'd want to cover it in BBQ sauce. The brisket was nice and tender and the vinegar based BBQ sauce (award-winning original) had a good flavor that wasn't too sweet, just far too much of it for my liking. I love diners. I love BBQ. I absolutely love great food. This spot has all of that plus breakfast. I have heard so many great things, read so many good reviews that I had to finally try it myself. I pass by it and always kind of miss it when I am out and about, so it's about time. We went in and it feels like stepping back in time. The diner itself is decorated with all of the nostalgia vibes from diner's past. There is a selection of booths, tables, and barstools to choose from so everyone has a seat regardless of party size. The servers are all super friendly and helpful. Food came out quick and hot which is always a good thing too. The menu is pretty big for a small place so another plus there. They have breakfast, BBQ, and your usual diner food like burgers and sandwiches too. I went back and forth but landed on the pot roast stacker. Pot roast, mashed potatoes, gravy all piled on some Texas Toast. This was as delicious as the server promised. I left the table completely full and happy with the choice. I pass this small little joint almost every day and finally had the chance to try it. Smokin Little Diner was such a great experience! We got the daily special of BBQ chicken sliders, which came with pulled chicken, a sauce of your choice, and an onion ring in the middle of each slider. They were absolutely delicious and packed with flavor. The onion ring in the middle was so good that we ended up ordering a side of onion rings, which was more than enough to share! Our waitress was so friendly and took the time to explain what each sauce tasted like since we were first-timers, and the small diner vibe made the whole experience feel cozy and welcoming. It's a cool little '30s diner that's been pretty meticulously maintained. It's not really small like Swan Street but it has a really cool vibe. I ordered the what was supposed to be the smallest barbecue plate- and it was huge -at least six ribs three pieces of brisket, and it was wonderfully good. I ordered the original sauce and it tasted like a Carolina based of vinegar sauce. It was good. The meat was juicy, not dry and the texture was wonderful. The waitress was strange -very standoffish- and the cause of the one star deduction. I asked a couple of questions about the menu and she couldn't answer. And, though she said she worked there for many years, she said she had never eaten the brisket or the ribs (!!) I asked her if she was vegetarian and she said no ?!? Found this little place on a day trip to Buffalo. It was crowded, but they did their best to accommodate our party. We sat at the counter and were quickly taken care of by our server. She made us feel right at home, even though we were complete strangers. Her suggestions were spot on with the food. We were able to try several different bbq sauces. Came with the sandwich, 5 wings, chips & pickles. It was a beef sandwich with a salted bun and it was terrible to me. The beef was reheated & the bun was WAY over salted. We have driven past this little place for years and finally decided to try it. Definitely compact--friendly welcome the minute you come in the door. Quite a variety of food to choose from--no alcohol however. Hubby had what he thought was a BBQ platter, but ended up being a piece of each style of meat piled on top of one another in an unmanageable sandwich, with an onion ring on top. Seating is somewhat limited and I would imagine there being a wait for a place to sit on a busy lunchtime. I pulled in here at around 11:20 on a weekday morning and it was still pretty busy. I was greeted by a server and seated by myself, I ordered the Brisket Sandwich with Fries with Bourbon Sauce ( they have multiple sauces all their own creations ) About 15 minutes later my food came out. The fries are OK, nothing to write home about and pretty basic skinny fries..but the Sandwich .......oh my the Sandwich was incredible. We even took visiting family here and they also agreed it was great! It's small on the inside, but they pack in a variety of seating so it's easy to get a table or a bar stool. Sooo many options I want to go back to try. We decided on the Lg sampler to share a wider variety of items. Food was outstanding! Picked the ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. Multiple BBQ sauce flavors to choose from and they'll bring you a bottle of any one you want to try. We tried about 5 or 6 and all were delicious. The coleslaw was perfect and bacon ranch noodle salad was good. Mac and cheese was the best I have had in a while. Fountain drinks a plus too. Hate places with only cans. I loved the pull pork!! The ribs I didn't I care for. The meat was tough. I did not finish them. The mashed sweet potato was good. Nothing special, but good. The macaroni salad was good but a little to sweet. I couldn't finish it because of how sweet it was. And just an FYI I asked while ordering if the potato salad was mayonnaise based and she said no it's mustard based. So I didn't try that because I don't like mustard based. I don't know how I have never written a review for this restaurant, but I have been a regular here for the last 2 years since moving to the Cheektowaga area. Place is always clean, an amazing aesthetic on the interior with some of the friendliest waitstaff (emphasis on friendly waitstaff, always smiling and cracking jokes). The inside is small, so please be wary on busy mornings that there will be a wait sometimes, but they push food out so quick usually the longest time I've ever had to wait was 10-15 minutes with a party of 8. The food is phenomenal. Every single thing I've ever got here I love. Their BBQ breakfast? Perfect hangover cure. Wanting sweet and savory? Get their maple smoked chicken n waffles, you'll fall in love with it. Their pulled meats are always so moist and full of flavor, also safe to say they have some of the largest pizza logs around! My personal favorite is their country fried steak with white gravy. I could not recommend this place enough as one of the best hidden gems in the area. How could this little diner exist as long as it has without me trying it sooner!!!? Rarely ever drive the section of Broadway just east of Transit would seem like logical rationale. On the high recommendation of a friend/business associate after discussing BBQ in WNY, and before looking at any Yelp reviews, I gave his highly recommended brisket sandwich a try for lunch. Boy was he right. Moist, thick sliced, well trimmed, flavorful, and on a good roll. Numerous house-made BBQ sauces to choose from. Probably the best crispy not limp sweet potato fries I've ever had and accompanied by honey butter. And now that I've read some of the previous Yelp reviews, here are some of my comments and/or reinforcing observations.... The place is small, holds around 30 people comfortably if I had to guess so go on off hours to avoid waiting. Decor? Classic vintage diner. Avoid the booth directly next to the entrance door if you don't like VERY cold air conditioning blowing directly on you, my mistake. Servers are incredibly friendly. Menu is huge and the entire menu is apparently served all day long (BBQ for breakfast...hmm). Place is surprisingly clean. Parking in back lot is ample. Tip: don't sneak here for lunch if you don't want BBQ odor on your clothes when you get home (your spouse will know you cheated on your diet....I found out the hard way)!!!
