Update: could not stop thinking about the sub I ordered Friday and how delicious it was. I finally got an opportunity to get it again (now Tuesday) and it was amazing once again (I order the Mama Mia, but I add extra cheese and extra mayo and sub oil ... and I omit the tomato .. hey, I never claimed to be healthy lol!). I came in person this time and dined in. It's not a big place, but they have plenty of seats and it was very clean in there! The decor is subtle but sort of reflects that Italian mafia lifestyle with pictures on the wall. The girl taking my order was very nice. They have a lot of yummy options here and I was tempted to try something different but I had to satisfy my craving and so I ordered the same thing lol. Definitely come here if you're sick of the same old subs and sandwiches!

Great place if you want a quality sub that has unique items, and really fun names to go with the sub name. The rolls are amazing and they offer different mayos like chipotle, pesto, regular, etc so you can flavor up your Sammy. Definitely worth checking out!

It became my favorite deli place! I had many choice to pick and will definitely come back to try the rest! I did Sinatra Sandwich and the best part was it's bread and spinach. It's price was almost $11. Cons: working hours

The Sinatra!! Yummmm! Went here today for the first time and was not disappointed. I debated between 3 or 4 choices but ultimately went with the Sinatra based on multiple yelp recommendations and boy am I glad I did! Holy yummy Batman! The hubby assumed he wouldnt like it cuz it had spinach so he hedged his bets and got the Pauly Catz muffuletta. It was ok , a pretty standard sausage pepeprs and onions sandwich. I would hands down get the Sinatra again and apparently they only have it at this location so if your trying to choose which one to go to pick this maple location!!

I love Marcos. Whenever I come back to Buffalo to visit family this is always on my 'must eat at' list. They've got such a long list of delicious sandwiches to choose from! The 'Forget About It' is great option with turkey, cheese, peppers, onions, lettuce and their chili mayo. I love this one. The 'Muffaletto' is HUGE! I'd advise a least two people partake in the eating of this one. It's stuffed to the brim with meat, cheese and some of that chili mayo. My all time favorite is the 'Godfather'. The steak with the combination of hot & sweet peppers, onions and mushrooms topped with cheese and a garlic mayo....this is what dreams are made of. I really like their hot peppers here. They're not too hot but add some spice. Marcos is one of my absolute favorite sandwich places I've been to.

If you go to Marco's, you have to wear a Polo. I mean, it's obvious right? In fact I want to take you here and put it in your mouth. The sandwich I mean. The Sinatra. I want to put Sinatra in your mouth. Er. Well just come... here with me, and you'll see. Marco it down on your calendar. What to get: The Sinatra is the best sandwich in WNY, maybe the world. What else is good: Muffaletta, Cannoli, and most of the sandwiches. There's actually a movie about this shop. That's how good it is. "Donnie Marco." Updated: having taken my mother, brother and his wife here, they all agreed, it was one of the best things they've ever put in their mouths. Including my father and/or each other. Er. Awkward. So if these Brits love it this much (and still rave about it as "the best thing we ate in USA") then all ye locals must get here and try it too. So I admit that eating this sandwich made me evil. After 10 visits, I noticed the Marco the devil in my Taint region. I have no idea why I was looking there. Well I do but don't ask. By the way, and I quote the lovely Kelly, the Sinatra is: "Juicy hot tender melt-in-your-mouth Prime Rib Steak w sautéed mushroom, spinach, fontinella cheese and a garlic mayo on a toasted sesame seed roll." Yes. I know. Get it. Now. And it actually tastes like it sounds, unlike most places that describe their products as such. If this were a cheap Cali gas station, it'd be "Arco's." Luckily it's way better. The Maple location is vastly superior to the Hertel location. Why is that, I hear you screaming into your plastic dollar-store megaphone. Because the food always tastes much better to me, and I think the employees in the Maple store are lovely, especially the really cute blonde girl that draws pictures on to-go boxes to match the name of the person who ordered. So what if I have a crush on her. It's a free country. I can crush while I'm eating my sandwich if I want to. It's not like she ever reads Yelp anyway. What's that you say? She checks the reviews daily? Oh crap... Seriously though, Hertel's menu is so different, I consider them completely separate businesses. And you can *only* get the Sinatra on Maple. Stick to Maple! Made with love! The best sandwich - again - is the *Sinatra*. Try it. Please try it. Bear in mind, they close early on Sat and are closed all day Sun. Hertel is open later but their choices (and their prime rib) doesn't measure up. Actually this is like the worst sandwich ever. Nah, I'm kidding. Just being "sarco." Maple's Muffaletta is fantastic, and in my opinion better than Joe's Deli (and spicier). It's my second fave sandwich. I loved every bite and especially how olive-y and spicy it is. Very wet and full of flavour. Some of their sandwiches are just okay (like the cold ones, and the paninis). This shop actually ruled France from 07 to 12. It was known as "Marcozy." But there is one sandwich that rises above all the competition and says "you will nom this sandwich from now until eternity." And that sandwich is named the Sinatra. And you must eat it. And you must love it. And you must spread the word to the rest of the flock about its orgasmic goodness. Sort of like when you sleep with someone that is utterly amazing in bed and then tell all your friends, and then they enjoy the same experience and you feel slightly disappointed that it's not "yours" anymore but also feel selflessly generous and like a true friend because you shared the love. What do you mean, you've never done that? Just me then? I can't sleep because I'm so fixated on this sandwich. And then I'm randomly falling asleep during waking hours. I call it "Marcolepsy." OK so this sandwich in question must be eaten warm. One of the best sandwiches in the USA. It has perfect tender meat, known as "prime rib" but it's really just so delicious and juicy in texture that it should be known as "heaven." It also has melted fontinella cheese on it and sauteed spinach. It's like... perfection. Try it and tell me I'm wrong. I dare you. Don't forget... for the 17th time... the Hertel location does not carry this sandwich and their prime rib is not good at all. The Maple location, it's utterly divine. From heaven. The sandwich was invented by owners Marco Hamill and Marco Wahlberg (Marco Mark). Oh and I almost forgot, their Cannoli is also fantastic by Buffalo standards (in NYC, try Cannoli Plus and Villabate Alba), as Louie's is as well. If I could only recommend one deli in town, I'd be completely lost, but in the end, Marco's on Maple would win. I'd insist you go to two... here for the Sinatra and Joe's for the Hangover. Eat both of them and then try choosing between them. Seriously. This could be an episode of Food Feuds. In fact it should be. Damn I'd be so good on the food network. Damn. Stop reading already and go get a Sinatra. Quick. Speaking of quick. Put on the Funky Bunch's "Good Vibrations" and show me Marco Mark's washboard in slow motion and I can get it done in 30 seconds. Tops.

Sinatra or God's gift to humanity? You decide.

5-stars for The Sinatra sandwich. Thanks Fox. In order to understand the wondrousness of Marcos Italian Deli, you need to just have The Sinatra sandwich at this location (I don't believe the other locations do them). What is it? A delicious steak sandwich topped with spinach and garlic. It is amazing, delectable, delicious and mouthwatering to the point where typing about it right now is painful because I wish I had it. I could cuddle it...and keep it warm, right up until I consume the hell out of it (a little weird, but this sandwich brings it out in you). I haven't tried much else on the menu -- you can have take out here or dine in, there's quite a lot of space and tables (can comfortably seat 25+) -- great lunch spot if you're thinking about catching up with a friend over an amazing sandwich. A little ode to The Sinatra (the sandwich you should buy if you like meat) ~ Oh steak, oh spinach, you're so nice. Every day you can be my vice. Made to order, so hot and fresh... They accept credit cards, you don't even need cash!

Mama Mia sandwich - turkey, bacon, cheese and lettuce on a bun.
    Perry G.

For a place that prides itself on being a Buffalo institution, my experience at Marco's did not live up to the expectation. I ordered the Mama Mia - cheese, turkey, bacon, tomato and lettuce on a bakery bun. I was expecting good things from this sandwich as my co-workers had talked it up a bit and invited me to join them at Marco's on a warm sunny Friday lunch hour. There were several things I didn't like about the sandwich - the cheese was processed, not natural, the turkey had the consistency of Oscar Meyer luncheon meat and the tomato was relatively tasteless. The lettuce was spilling out over the sides and made a mess. The bread was OK but a bit doughy and relatively tasteless as well. There is nothing particularly interesting about the eat-in area of the restaurant, so if you want to get a sandwich here, take it to go.

    How you doin/ steak sandwich.

The roast beef is so tender, they give you a good portion on the roll and there's a nice flavor, leaves me salivating. It's been quite sometime since I had one, I finally had some time and stopped at this location. I regret to say I'm disappointed in myself because I was stopping for a roast beef and ended up making the mistake of being spontaneous and ordered the grilled BBQ prime rib sandwich. I'm sorry, I didn't like it. So, this sandwich costs $15.99 (comes with nothing extra), it was also on a roll, there was no BBQ sauce (I assumed there would be) but it was just dry, plain, devoid of much flavor, they topped it with provolone cheese, a couple pieces of peppers and some onions but it didn't hit the spot for me. The Costanzo roll was overbearing. I learned a valuable lesson today, "stick with what you love about the place!" So, I'll be back for that roast beef another day. The inside is reminiscent of the local 80's fast food joints of Buffalo, I would call it a little shack. You walk in, lean back, look up at the menu, order and walk around to pay and pick up your food. There is a small seating area, a few booths to sit a party of four.
