This is a cute small restaurant across from the office where I work. I've been wanting to stop in for awhile now and I'm so glad I did. I spoke with one of the employees and the owner. I ordered their special today, which was half of a tuna sandwich and either black bean and chorizo soup or beef vegetable soup. I think you could get a salad, instead of the soup, as a combo. They asked if they could put sour cream and something else on top of the soup. I said sure. The soup was fantastic, as was the sandwich. They gave me a small piece of crusty bread with the sandwich. They also included a small soft mint in the box with the half of a sandwich. I loved my experience here and I'll definitely be back soon. If you're in the area, you should check this place out. Their hours are 11am-3pm Monday through Saturday.

I always enjoy lunch from City Fare. Fresh, homemade and delicious. All the menu items are delicious. Today I had a hankering for some veg and I ordered the hoda kotb Mediterranean plate. It looked so big when the plate was set before me but I finished it. Fresh sliced tomatoes, crispy cucumbers. Beware the chili sauce had a kick.

Came here for lunch and got a combo (half sandwich and a bowl of soup). This is truly a great deal because both were delicious, and came out quickly as well. I came during the lunch hour, during the week, and it was busy but the line was moving relatively quickly. Great place to dine in or take out. Definitely will come here again!

One of the best spots in Buffalo for lunch (especially downtown). Owned and operated by a wife and husband they have fresh home made items. The pastries are phenomenal and decor is good. Small negatives are that there is no Wi-Fi and that when they get busy it can get a bit intense and feel a tad chaotic. Overall a great option

I have visited this place 3 times within the last couple of weeks before I decided to settle on a 5 star review. It honestly has some of the best cream based soups I have ever have , both the cauliflower and potato soups were excellent ! All sandwiches are tasty too, breads taste fresh and they had an interesting avocado spread on their one Turkey sandwich (I would have never thought to pair turkey and avocado together, but I am now onboard) . It's easy to go over my $10 lunch budget there, but sizes are generous and can easily provide 2 meals. Owners are friendly and always thank me for the business. I only wish they had more of a selection on their menu . Only about 2-3 soups , 3 salads , and 6 or so sandwiches on their menu . Maybe they will expand with time!

We visit this little cafe every time we come to Buffalo. The family that owns and works it is so so sweet and funny, and the food is generously portioned and freshly prepared. We always get the lunch combo, and my kiddo amazes me by managing to finish the whole thing. My Onassis salad is fresh and crisp and perfect every time, and the tempeh dish my mom got today was delish, definitely grabbing that next time! The roast beef special they had today looked incredible, too... you can't go wrong!

I happened upon this cafe walking down Main Street so I decided to try it. It's really adorable inside, with a nice set of seats facing Main Street should you want to watch the activity. They have a handful of sandwiches, a few soups and salads, and some tasty looking baked goods. I tried the number 3, Tempeh of Doom (cute). It's basically a tempeh banh mi, and it was delicious. Be warned though - the sucker is spicy! Ask for no jalapeño and/or sriracha mayo on the side if you have a milder palate. It comes with a few pickles that were yummy, I wonder if they are made in house? Next I will try one of their salads. On the menu in the future I would like to see a chicken sandwich and a small side salad. It would also be nice to add a side to the sandwiches, like $1 up charge to add the small salad, or bean salad, or even chips. I'll be back!!

Came here for lunch with a friend and the food was delicious. Had the roasted red pepper soup and the hungry hippy kale salad. Service was great, friendly and we got our food quick. The place is very clean and had some chairs/tables to sit at.

Love their soup, but at almost $6 it shouldn't come 3/4 full :(

As always I can't find one thing that isn't delicious there…read more I try to bring new friends to try the food and everyone loves it. The service is one on one every time. They always ask what I want added to my veggie sandwich and it's always amazing. I only wish it was a bit brighter in there. It's just a tiny bit too dark in the back for my taste.

What a fun lunch experience. The owner, Nando is such a great guy. They can sense first timers, and…read morewow they made us feel so special. We were provided samples of the bread and cheese. Nando LOVES to talk, and explain the food and his culture! Loved hearing the story behind these culetto sandwiches. Basically what I heard in America we call them an "ass" sandwhich. Hahaha basically take the butt of the bread and stuff it with goodness. You can dine in here, I personally call it take out spot, but again there are a few tables and chairs to eat in, which is what we did. I love a good meatball, so went with the meatball one. It did not disappoint. Loved ever bite, which is hard because the sandwhich is so big. There are two sizes choose, regular and colossal We went with regular which was great portion, only imagine what the colossal looks like. There are two choices of bread white or sourdough. Of course went with the sourdough. Delicious. My "butt bread" was stuffed well with cheese, sauce and meatballs. I wasn't able to eat it all there, by the end of night, after it sat OMG soooo good. The bread had really soaked up that delicious sauce. My mom made her own, which she stuffed with turkey and cheese. There was plenty of desserts, but unfortunately were so stuffed didn't try. But while we were there a couple came in just for them and bought tons. Told us favorite spot to grab dessert. I'll try some next time. I have to also speak on the "mother's wall'. Here Nando has over 100 pictures of mother's. Hear him talk about mother's and family in general was special. Hard come here and not feel like the family love.

I'm not sure how long I'll feel that way though! :-) I try to get something different each time we go. This time I got the turkey jalapeno club. Along with the side of fries we shared, it was enough for two meals. It was really delicious!! They roast the turkey breast themselves and the jalapeno bread is out of this world. I would definitely get this again. Matt got the jalapeno cheeseburger, which had two thick beef patties side by side on the jalapeno bread...at $18.95 it was actually a pretty good deal. He's ordered this before and loves it. He especially likes the fried jalapenos they add. The fries are house made and delicious. One order is enough for two. We'll definitely be back!

After a long drive to have brunch somewhere on Elmwood, just to find the doors locked, I ventured…read moreover here to have lunch and it did not disappoint! First off, I was greeted and found staff friendly and efficient! You have plenty of options for seating .. dining area, front bar, back bar, even an outdoor patio bar. Although it is dive bar-esque, it was nice and clean (let's be honest .. some dives have a stench and stickiness that can definitely ruin your appetite, no matter how much you may love them). They have a set up for bands to play, as one was playing while I was there for their 2 year anniversary (congrats!). What was nice is although I could hear the band (it was playing in the back and I was up front), it wasn't over whelming me. I have eaten places where, no matter where you sit, it's extremely loud, and I appreciated that you had a choice here. Now onto the food: The food should have been doomed to fail; my tastebuds were prepared to eat sweet, buttery, syrupy French toast with a mocktail at brunch elsewhere. But wasn't hyped about the menu because of this (which is not dog and pony's fault .. I had to work and didn't have time to research where else brunch was available). I settled on the umami smashburger by a suggestion of my waitress. Now once again, could have been doomed to fail as I'm not a French fry person and my favorite cheeseburger is one I make on my own. BUT WOW their food blew me away and made me forget all about my brunch let-down. The French fries were fantastic and had a great seasoning on them! The smashburger was great to the last bite .. and I was NOT expecting to finish it as it was a really nice portion (I ate lunch now 10 hours ago and didn't need to eat again it was so filling!) but it was so dang gone good I sure finished it! Smoked cheddar .. chimichuri aioli ... kimchi bacon jam .. oh ya that bacon jam was EVERYTHING!! Thank you to the staff at Dog and Pony for making my long drive worth while!

I ordered the smash burger, my husband ordered the turkey sandwich. After we were waiting for our food for over 25 minutes, the server came over and said that he was just informed they don't have the turkey because they had an issue with that freezer. Ok, so my husband ordered the cheese steak because he was super excited for the bahn mi roll. My smash burger was alright, but the bread they use for their burgers remind me of those cheap buns you get from TOPS that just fall apart. The worst part was that they forgot the dog sauce on my burger, so I asked for the sauce, and THEY CHARGED ME FOR ASKING FOR SAUCE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO ALREADY BE ON THE BURGER I ORDERED. My husband made sure to tell me after we already left because he knew I would have fought it and our already 1.5 hour long lunch date would have been longer waiting for the refund... He ordered the cheesesteak and the sandwich was so small, and the "bahn mi bun" wasn't even toasted which is a signature for bahn mi bread. He said the flavor was fine but nothing to rave about. The worst part, for me, were the French fries that came with both of our meals. They were soooo heavily peppered that they were inedible. We asked for ketchup to try to make them tolerable, and they gave us a pre-portioned small cup of ketchup... You serve french fries with most of your menu, why isn't there ketchup on the table?!? Overall, It was a nice place to have on senrca street which used to only have the blackthorn and franchescas, but I would not eat here again.
