I found W Nail Salon -- though the salon is "newer" here in Utah (Yui, the owner, used to have an established nail salon in San Diego), their reviews (a lot of them are on Google) are great. I called the salon, and Yui, the owner answered. I let her know I was hoping to get a mani/pedi done within the next day or so, and she promptly texted me the price list. I chose to do a gel manicure + classic pedicure the next weekday afternoon. I only live about 10mins away, but am newer to the area. Unfortunately there was at least two main streets my GPS directed through that were closed due to construction, and I had to get creative and find my own way around. It felt like it took forever, but I texted Yui, and she gave me some tips. I finally made it and wasn't too late for my appt. I was greeted by Yui and the others in the salon as soon as I walked in, and I immediately felt comfortable. I really liked the salon vibe. It's super clean, and everything is well-organized. I REALLY liked the color selection as well. Yui gave me her color and brand recommendations which no one has really done for me before -- I ended up taking her advice and liking the outcome a lot! Yui directed me to the pedicure tubs, gave me bottled water, guava juice and offered me some sweets which was an awesome touch. What hospitality! Yui was the only person who worked on my hands and feet, and I really loved how she took her time, making sure every detail was right. She is also very gentle and took care not to tickle me too much and used a cool dremel took to trim my cuticles. We talked quite a bit about cooking, travel and the like. It was a really nice time, and she gave me excellent massages. On top of it all, she gave me a bunch of hot egg rolls to take home (you can see in the pic I couldn't wait to munch on some on the way home, and they were good!) The pricing was actually $10 or so less than what I paid at K&Q (for practically the same services), but the service here was way better by far -- plus it's been over a week, and my polish is pretty much all still in tact. K&Q was chipping within days. I will definitely be returning here and hope to sit with Yui again! She is such a fun, sweet person, and I really enjoyed getting to know her!

They were $50 and I tipped $10. My nails were so uncomfortable the remainder of the day and the next day. As soon as I left the salon they were so bubbly. I left on vacation the next day and while I was gone noticed my nails started to lift on my cuticles. When I got home 3/3 my pinky nail fell off, and 2 of my other nails feel like they are going to pop off. For $50 I think my nails should last longer than 5 days, and I've never had acrylics pop off this fast when I was just on vacation. Super disappointed.

Service was very friendly and the location was relaxing and peaceful when I went for a gel manicure. It was my first manicure in over a year because my nails get so damaged from gel/dip removal so I wanted a break. Also I'm always nervous that I will get snipped during cuticle trimming (it has happened more often than I would like at other places!), but I didn't have any issue with that here. The tech was speedy and efficient. She painted my nails beautifully, but I think the edges were left uncapped because my nails started to chip at the top within a week. Despite that they were beautiful, and I wasn't going to do a pedicure that day but decided to because I loved my nails so much. They also have discount if you pay cash, and similar to punch cards at some coffee shops you can get a larger discount once you pay for so many services above $35 with cash. So I like those perks. I would probably come back again but I would've liked the gel to be longer lasting like at other places. I'm used to more like 2/3 weeks before any chipping is seen.
