I've been to the other Da Vien locations in OC and I'm so happy they finally decided to open one in the South bay. Really yummy drinks and kind workers who get your drinks out quickly. My favorite is the ube matcha (50% sweetness), with a strong matcha flavor and a creamy ube foam that perfectly complements the matcha. As someone who's never had matcha with coconut water, I found the coconut matcha to be surprisingly very refreshing and great for a summer day. I haven't tried much of their coffee yet, but the latte with strawberry cream was delicious. Just be mindful that their drinks are quite sweet by default so I'd suggest ordering 50% sweetness. There are plenty of tables with outlets nearby and there were many people studying and getting work done. It's a beautiful area to hang out and catch up with friends or be productive in. I've tried Da Vien in OC and LB before so I was thrilled to hear they were opening a location in Gardena. The coffee shop is located in a small strip mall in next to Baskin Robbins and by the Panda Express. The parking lot can get a little congested but it's worth it. There is a small seating area next to the counter where you order. It can be a little bit on the louder side so if you're going there to study or read, you'll probably want headphones. Da Vien has an app you can order from or a kiosk/tablet, and of course you can order at the counter. I've had the banana matcha and the einspanner latte and both are incredible. If you love banana, the banana matcha has a very nice flavor and doesn't taste artificial at all. The einspanner latte had a tasty cream top that is just too good. Another plus is that you can customize the sweetness and ice level on some drinks. I can't wait to try more of their menu! read more

I've been three times since it opened cause it's close. The drinks are good, they are on the sweet side so just something to be aware of. Vietnamese coffee has more caffeine content than most so also something to be aware of. Ambiance is good, it's new so it's fairly clean and modern. I wouldn't say the service is slow nor am complaining cause I guess they are new and a lot of people have been trying it so I understand the wait. I stopped by on a Sunday morning and it was a good amount of people there. As I stood in line I noticed the line started to get longer and longer. There were so many drinks on the counter and they were constantly calling names. They were doing a good job of getting the orders out. I ordered the banana matcha and it was ok, when I go back I am going to try the Vietnamese coffee since it is a Vietnamese shop. My daughter had the marble drip, she said that she liked it. We also shared a ham and cheese croissant which, it tasted exactly like what it was LOL meaning nothing special but exactly what you would expect from a coffee shop. You can order to go or enjoy your drink and food at one of the tables inside. There's a parking lot shared with other businesses so it was pretty crowded but cars are constantly leaving, so finding a spot may not be too hard. read more

Da Vien is a new coffee shop located in the In N Out Plaza! So excited that a new location popped up here. I ordered a cafe latte & added strawberry foam for $1. Their cafe latte is a shot of espresso with milk rather than their straight viet coffee. I liked the flavor of the strawberry mixed with it. It added some sweetness to the not so sweet cafe latte. Located off Artesia Bl in Gardena. This one recently opened up. The parking in this little strip area is small and shared with the other businesses and it gets full fast. I had to park at the adjacent shopping center parking lot to the left of it which has plenty of spaces. The place is not too big there are a few tables and chairs. Since it's new and a well known place it's busy during all hours I mobile ordered my drink so I was able to walk in and pick up my drink pretty fast. I got the strawberry milk matcha. Overall it's nice to have this spot but the location is not the best due to its popularity cause of the parking in that small area of the center. Yum! I happen to be across the street on opening day and popped in to try a drink. I ended up getting the egg coffee with light ice and 30% sweetness. I also opted for stronger, coffee and less cream. I love how you can customize it so much while still retaining the ingredients of the drink. My a coffee is delicious! Even at 30% it's still a little sweet, but the cream is lovely and the coffee flavor is strong, just the way I like it. Um can someone tell me what the hype is about this place:( I ordered a banana cream matcha. I don't get why it's such a popular order bc the banana is SO clearly artificial that it was a bit off-putting. No real bananas seem to be used in the drink. When I got my order it didn't even seem like there was any cream top on it. My cousin ordered the same drink but had a cream top on hers. I had mentioned this to the worker and they added it but it came sunk to the middle of the drink. I did try to mention this but was brushed off and just was told that "it was the texture of the drink". Guess I was stuck with a banana cream middle instead..lol. Sure, I get that it could have sunk but they were pretty dismissive about it and felt that the customer service aspect was a bit lacking. I will give credit and say that the matcha in the drink itself was good but personally wasn't a fan of the crushed ice (bc it diluted the drink too fast on a hot summer day) and the artificial banana was just not it for me. read more

I recently visited the new Da Vien Coffee location in Gardena during their soft opening, and while the shop is obviously already extremely popular, there are definitely a few things that could be improved. First, the ordering setup feels a little cramped. You can either use the kiosk or order directly with a worker, which is nice for faster service, but I think they should add more kiosks and move them farther from the entrance. Right now the kiosk placement kind of blocks the doorway because there's almost always a line. In my opinion, moving the kiosks closer to where the bench area is would create more space and improve the flow of traffic, especially during rushes. The shop itself also gets very crowded. There's a good amount of seating, but it's usually packed, so finding a table can be difficult unless you get lucky. Since everyone waits near the pickup area, people tend to bunch together waiting for their drinks, which makes the space feel even tighter. Sometimes it honestly feels hard to move around without bumping into people, and when it gets super busy it can feel a little claustrophobic inside. It's gotten even busier lately because of all the social media posts about the new location. Another thing I noticed was that it actually felt hotter inside than outside at times. With how packed the shop gets, it almost feels like there's barely any AC running, so the inside can start feeling stuffy and uncomfortable when there's a crowd. I've tried the Strawberry Cream Oat Latte twice. The first time, it was really good. The second time, it tasted noticeably different. I didn't change my ice adjustment, but the second drink had very little ice and was filled only at the top, so it ended up tasting warmer and a bit more watery compared to the first visit. It wasn't terrible, but I do hope the drinks become more consistent over time. I understand they're still in soft opening and training new employees, so some inconsistency is expected while the team is still adjusting and learning recipes. I think consistency is especially important when drinks are going viral online because people expect the same quality each visit. One small suggestion I have is regarding appearance and food safety. I noticed some baristas constantly touching and pushing their hair out of their face while making drinks and croissants, which honestly didn't feel very sanitary to watch. I'm not trying to be rude, but I think having hair tied back more securely would look cleaner and more professional overall, especially in such a busy environment. On the positive side, I think the prices are actually very fair, especially for the portion sizes and quality. The drinks don't feel overpriced at all, and not charging tax is a nice bonus. The menu itself is also pretty unique compared to a lot of other coffee spots around the area, which is probably part of why it's gotten so popular. Overall, I mainly hope that after soft opening, the drinks become more consistent, the layout feels less crowded, and names are called out louder and clearer. One thing I noticed during multiple visits was that some workers called names very quietly, so people would stand around confused or not realize their drinks were ready. Since the shop gets so packed and noisy, I think calling names louder would help the flow a lot and make pickup less chaotic. Every visit I've had so far felt a little different, but my best experience was definitely Thursday morning, May 21st. Everything ran smoothly, and the Asian girl calling out names did an amazing job -- she was loud, clear, organized, and very professional. You could actually hear her over the crowd (I honestly thought there was a microphone when she was calling names LOL), which made pickup way less chaotic. I got a Ube Matcha, and my friend got the Coconut Matcha. Both drinks were excellent with strong matcha flavor and not overwhelmingly sweet. They also use the good nugget ice. This is my second time here at this location. Ordered coffee hear this Saturday morning and the girl behind me got her drink first. Apparently the coffee printer was messed up. I ask 3 different people when my coffee would be ready. They said it was being made. Over 30min later I was late for work and ready to ask for a refund.
