Ambiance: the tea shop is located within another tea store Service: self serving and you have to place order through kiosk machine near the entrance, and it's very confusing, the staff made mistake on my order, the cashier explained the staff was new but still refused to make me another one to replace the wrong order, terrible experience Drink: variety choices on the menu Momoko White Peach Black Milk Tea - *** average taste Sakura Cherry Mousse Green Tea - ** flavorless drink Price: overpriced for its quality, totally not worth the cost about $8 per drink

First off, Moshi Moshi Tea Shoppu is located inside Oko Cafe, so look for Oko's signage. Secondly, it was a Pop-Up, but since it's been here for nearly 2 years, I'm thinking this is more permanent. TIP: To order from the Momoko x Moshi Moshi menu, you must use the kiosk. You cannot order at the counter. When you step inside, you'll see that the furniture and decorations are all black & white. Like the artist drew all the lines with a black Sharpie! There's a train complete with seats & handholds for standing passengers. Too cute! Previously, there was a family of ducks that once graced that wall. There's also a guitar, telephone, computer, and a portrait of Albert Einstein! I love the functional piano named Hammond! They even provided a music book! It's neat that they change up the interior from time to time. This black & white drawn theme continues to the counter & the restroom! There is plenty of free parking at the Pacific Square Shopping Center. To order from the Momoko x Moshi Moshi menu requires you to to use the kiosk. There are 2. On my first visit, I got the Sakura Cherry Black Milk Tea with Kikkoman Organic Soy Milk & Sakura Honey Boba ($7.65) - I loved this drink! The tea bag is left in the cup. The drink itself was quite ambrosial! What made this drink a notch above was the Sakura Honey Boba! They were absolutely amazing and more than worth the 90¢! I don't know if this is permanently on the (kiosk) menu or not, but I need to get some more! I was a little bit sad when I finished my drink! [ https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/moshi-moshi-tea-shoppu-gardena?select=8vgz57-2212DF1xmbimLtA ] Five stars for the first visit! On my second visit, I got the Sakura Lavender Mousse with Sakura Honey Boba. While the drink was alright, the boba weren't as fresh this time. I was so disappointed!! Hubby got the Strawberry Vanilla Green Tea and it was subtle, but good! TIP: To order from the Momoko x Moshi Moshi menu, you must use the kiosk. You cannot order at Oko Cafe's counter. Interesting fact: Momoko x Moshi Moshi offers 5 different Milk choices - Kikkoman Organic Soy Milk, Oatly Oat Milk, Stratus Organic Milk, Califia Almond Milk, and Hokkaido Non-Dairy Creamer. We also wanted to try the Fresh Tama Strawberry Sakura Cream Sando ($5.50). It took a while for this sando to come out because it is made fresh. It looked like quite a work of art! I must say that eating it was a feat in itself! I tried to cut my half into bite-sized pieces, but everything oozed out from the bread and made a mess! I ended up eating it as a deconstructed sandwich. In a way, it reminded me of a Strawberry Shortcake. [ https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/moshi-moshi-tea-shoppu-gardena?select=52lwtOkfcqfpvxl71Bua9A ] It was worth the extra time it took to get the drink & sando because they were made fresh while we waited! We saw the Tanghulu when we were her in June and decided to get one this time. We chose the Tanghulu Rainbow Mix Fruits Candy. It comes in a nice free gift wrap plastic that says "I love Tanghulu". The Rainbow Tanghulu came with 2 pieces of each fruit. We got Oranges, Grapes, and Strawberries. Each is dipped in a clear hard candy. The fruit is so juicy! I found it to be a little difficult to take bites off the skewer because that hard candy coating was sharp like broken glass. Despite that, we really enjoyed the Tanghulu! I would get this again, but not too often! [ https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/moshi-moshi-tea-shoppu-gardena?select=HVIMVbTmIfjn3F0iHZjKWA ] Next time, I will stick with the Sakura Cherry Black Milk Tea with Kikkoman Organic Soy Milk & Sakura Honey Boba! It was a winner!! Hopefully the Sakura Honey Boba will be fresh, too!

04/08/2023 I came here for the Soft Opening pop up inside Oko Cafe. You order at the kiosk and wait for your order at the designated pick up counter. I ordered the Sakura Cherry Matcha Tea with Kikkoman Organic Soy Milk which was very rich and thick almost like a milkshake. I do like this idea where you do have options when trying to decide because you can view two different menus. I would come back and try another drink. Fast forward to July, I brought two more people. The hours and kiosk show that the pop up is closed on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. Someone walked out with a fruit sando which looked really good.

This is a Pop up shop inside Oko Cafe with a Super Cute concept of a cartoon Japanese subway. I love their dedication to the black & white cartoon concept- they even had the piano, tables, and seating in that fashion. Their trash can is also decorated like a boba drink- how creative! The milk tea & boba is yummy. They sealed off a tea bag in my cup, which was really cool since most shops don't just use one tea serving per customer (you can usually pour many batches of tea from the same tea leaves). This is probably why you can taste the amazing aromatic tea, unlike other places where you can barely taste the tea. They also gave a free tea sample with my drink. I love that they use fresh tea per customer for the milk tea, definitely coming back to try other flavors!

After having lunch near by,my spouse and I walked around the Pacific Square shopping center and noticed how the interior looks unique. It was all black and white boba place. The place looks really cute and the theme was the train station. It even have piano! You can play at your risk. I did play a couple of funny tunes. They have fresh tea scent containers for you to sniff the tea you like to order. I ordered peach oolong drink with crystal boba from the kiosk system. I got my drink within 5 minutes with a free tea sample. This is my first time seeing teabag in a boba drink. Overall the place was clean and service was great as well. I would love to come back again in the future to try other drinks.

Ordering was a breeze, but the wait for the drink felt like ages. The ambiance? Absolutely adorable. As for the milk tea, it was good, just not great.

Still one of my favorite places for tea. They use actual tea and put a bag to your drink when you order!

Some of the best quality tea and boba yet! The pop up is located inside OKO Cafe. You MUST order on the kiosk and NOT at the register to get Moshi Moshi. Each order will take approximately 15 minutes, so be prepared to wait for your tea to be brewed to perfection. While waiting, you can smell the tea samples and look at the other displays. Once your drink is done, they will call your name and not the order number. The order number is for OKO. For each drink, they give you tea samples. I have yet to try the tea at home, but each one is super nice with a handwritten note. Per drink, the price ranges from ~$6-8. A little on the pricey side, but so worth it!

This pop up is located AT Oko Cafe, where the owner is trying out a new drink menu based on Lupicia tea (only available in and imported from Japan). I ordered the Sakura Cherry Green Tea with Cheese Mousse and it was delicious. I really like cherry flavor, and this a delicate but clear cherry flavor. I love that they are testing out new drinks! You order separately from the kiosk inside Oko Cafe. I wanted to try the fruit sandos but they actually had sold out of almost all, so I will need to come back for that. This popup is a soft opening Thursday - Sunday. Enjoy!

This was the cutest hidden gem that we stumbled across while looking for a bakery in Gardena. As someone who doesn't opt for boba, it takes a really great one to make me reconsider and let me tell you, this didn't disappoint. Drink: Omomoko Green Tea w/ cream mouse & mochi ball + sakura honey boba: I was very skeptical about this drink so to think that it was one of the best tea drinks I've had in a while was impressive. Mixing in the cream mouse made the drink similar to a green tea latte but lighter and brighter. The boba was also great having a slight floral taste while being soft and chewy. Service: The woman who handed me my drink was so sweet. She proceeded to give me a little pouch of a tea sample and from then I was sold. Ambiance: What took me by surprise, however, was the interior. There were no yelp pictures that could've led me to think that this was a 2D cafe, but it is! I was so excited because I've been wanting to visit one ever since it become popularized in Seoul. There is even a seating area along the wall with handles in front to mimic the look of a Japanese train. It's a pretty photo op with plenty of seating including tables outside. It was pretty crowded at 6:00pm so there was a bit of a wait, but that's bearable if you're admiring the decor. Cons: The only thing that made me squirm was the price. Now, I'm quite used to an expensive cafe, but I was a little taken aback when (with the added boba) the price came out to be over $7. I couldn't justify getting a drink at that price to come very often, but it's a great place to come to at least once. This is a great place to come with friends if I lived in the area. Make sure to check it out if you're ever in Gardena!

A light, fruity drink that reminds me of spring/summer! I got 50% sweetness which was a little too sweet for me but I loved the creativity of the peach cream mousse with the green tea which worked well together. I've also never had sakura boba and was pleasantly surprised by the subtle sweet floral flavor!

I think the tea flavor could have been stronger, but the texture of the boba was good. I did think it was a bit odd that my iced drink was served in a paper cup while my friend got the usual plastic cup. The croissant was delicious. It had a nice guava filling, but the cream cheese was thinner, more like a condensed milk consistency. Still very good, just different from what I was expecting. This place is a total gem, and if you haven't been yet, you are seriously missing out! Let me tell you about the star of my visit, the Matcha Cream Filled Croissant. Oh. My. Goodness. This thing is on another level. The croissant itself is buttery, perfectly golden, and incredibly flaky -- with just the right amount of crisp on the outside. But the matcha cream filling? Silky smooth, lusciously rich, with a beautiful earthy matcha flavor that isn't overpowering or too sweet. It's the kind of bite that makes you stop mid-chew just to appreciate how good it is. I honestly could eat three of these in a sitting. The Korean-American fusion approach to their baked goods is inspired and completely unique, you won't find anything like it anywhere else in the South Bay or in Gardena. Seriously Impressive, I paired my croissant with their Iced Matcha Latte, made with premium grade matcha sourced from Jeju Island, and WOW, this drink is stunning. It's vibrant, beautifully layered, and tastes as amazing as it looks. The matcha is bold and authentic without being bitter, perfectly balanced with creamy, cold milk. Not too sweet, not too earthy -- just absolutely perfect. It's easily one of the best iced matcha drinks I've had in a while. You can customize your milk choice too, which is a great thoughtful touch. This place is warm & welcoming: The staff here is attentive, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a smile and made to feel at home. The baristas are well-trained and knowledgeable, they took their time explaining the menu and made sure my order was exactly right. No rushing, no attitude, just genuine hospitality that keeps you coming back. Decor is absolutely Charming. The interior of Smoking Tiger is adorable and so well thought out. It's modern, clean, and stylish with a cozy Korean café aesthetic that feels fresh without trying too hard. The lighting is warm and inviting, the seating is comfortable, and the whole vibe just makes you want to stay for hours. There's both indoor and outdoor seating available, which is a great bonus. Whether you're catching up with a friend, working on your laptop, or just treating yourself to something special, this place sets the perfect mood. One thing that really stood out to me was how immaculately clean this café is. The tables, counters, floors, and display cases were all sparkling, it's clear that the team takes real pride in maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for every guest. A clean café is a happy café, and this one passes with flying colors. Bottom Line, Smoking Tiger Coffee & Bread is the real deal. Creative, high-quality food, exceptional drinks, warm service, gorgeous decor, and a spotless space, this place checks every single box. The Matcha Cream Filled Croissant and Iced Matcha Latte alone are worth the trip. Do yourself a favor and go try yourself. Miguel C.

Since my first visit, there's been many competitors opening around Gardena, but I find myself drawn back to this place because of the balance of spaciousness (there's actually places to sit whenever I go!), quality of products (the espresso shot is pretty strong and they have many beans to choose from), and best of all, price of their drinks (specifically the specialties). While I wouldn't say the prices are a bargain, it feels more reasonable than other local competitors. One thing I do miss is that 2 years ago, the pastries weren't individually wrapped. We used to have the option of selecting pastries with tongs, the typical experience you'd get when going to a bakery in Japan. Hopefully they would bring that experience back again! Until then, I'll keep returning for their quality drinks!

Great Demand, But Poor Convenience for Working Customers…read more I've had The Nook's mushroom coffee before. My best friend took me here on a weekend afternoon, and even then there was a line, although it was manageable and mostly stayed inside the shop. Because of that experience, I knew The Nook was popular, but I wasn't prepared for what I encountered on a weekday morning. I wanted to pick up a coffee before work, so I actually planned ahead. Before leaving home, I checked the mobile website expecting that, given the obvious demand, there might be an order-ahead option. Unfortunately, there isn't one. So I gave myself an additional 30 minutes specifically for parking, waiting in line, ordering, and waiting for the drink to be prepared. I figured that should be more than enough for a morning coffee pickup. I arrived around 7:30 AM, and as I walked toward The Nook from the south side of The Enclave, I could already see the line stretching out of the door and into the courtyard. I was honestly shocked. There were easily 15-20 people ahead of me. I decided to give it a fair chance and got in line. After 10 minutes, the line had barely moved. At that point, I walked out. I understand that popular businesses get busy, especially in the morning. But there is a difference between being busy and having a customer wait in a line of 15-20 people with virtually no movement at 7:30 AM, particularly when there is no mobile ordering or order-ahead option. For a coffee shop with this level of demand, I find the lack of an ordering system especially frustrating. If you're going to consistently have lines extending outside the business during the morning rush, there should be some way for customers who are trying to grab a drink on their way to work to order ahead. And that's really my issue: the customer experience doesn't seem designed for people who need coffee efficiently. If you're coming here on a weekend, have nowhere to be, or are willing to dedicate an unpredictable amount of time to waiting, you may have a completely different experience. But if you're trying to get coffee before work, I would strongly recommend accounting for significantly more time than you think you'll need -- or having a backup plan. I no longer work as close to The Nook, and I don't drink coffee after noon, so I don't have much reason to make a special trip. Unless I'm conveniently nearby and see little to no line, I won't be making another attempt anytime soon. The Nook clearly has a loyal following, but popularity shouldn't come at the expense of basic convenience. If the demand is consistently this high, the ordering process needs to catch up with it.
