My family and I absolutely love Daddio's!! We have been back time and time again for the amazing food specials which are always changing and always delicious. My favorite are the omelettes which are absolutely massive on their own and even more filing with the sides they're served with. In the summer we love to sit out on the patio for weekend brunch where our favorite server is usually working. The food comes out quickly and the service is always great! Had to wait a long time for service and then for food. Staff was noisy throwing dirty dishes around. The chemical smell from the aerosol spray they use to clean the table tops was a harsh and lingered. Staff was friendly, and genuinely wanted tot please. It did have a throwback feel to the 1960's with some cool memorabilia throughout. Food was good but again it took a long time to be served. Maybe they were understaffed that morning or maybe that was their normal shift personnel. Our meal was comped due to the wait which is encouraging. Overall, it was a less than pleasant experience for first time visitors. I'll come back and reevaluate at a later date however my family as a whole will not be returning. This is the best place in town for a delicious, affordable, family-owned breakfast. I recommend getting there as early as you can, the place is always packed with regulars! At Daddio's, there isn't a bad thing on the menu. I've tried everything from sweet to savory and I have to agree that the La Bomba skillet is one of my go-to's. The ingredients are always fresh, and it's the perfect combination of spice and sustenance. But the best thing about Daddio's isn't the food - it's the way they make you feel. As a family-owned restaurant with a long-standing history in the community every time I walk in the diner I feel like I'm at home. This was my first time here. I had the BLT chicken club with tater tots. I asked for extra bacon and I didnt get any extra. The chicken was dry with no seasoning and I got 1 napkin. I had told the boss about the chicken and he just shrugged his shoulders and said that was what I ordered which I thought he would have done something about it but nothing was done. The server did not seem to like her job at all but she knew what she was doing. I dont know if I will return. Maybe at a future date to see if things have changed. read more

Ever since we were little, my Dad took my two sisters and I out for breakfast on Saturday mornings. It was always a special treat to go. We colored while waiting for our food, and enjoyed trying new dishes. Dad even let us order milkshakes for breakfast! These mornings were usually followed by a trip to the local hardware store where we rode in the cart and were told not to touch anything. Looking back, I partially suspect my Mom wanted a morning without the kids! As the years passed, my sisters and I started sleeping in on Saturdays like most teenagers do. We got up late and then loafed around the house till we did chores. Early morning breakfast just didn't have the allure for us that it once did. Now we're all a little further along. I'm graduated, out of the house and engaged. My middle sibling is away at school and our baby sister just started college. As we grow older (and wiser!), my siblings and I are finding it more and more important to spend time with each other. Oddly enough, my parents we're visiting my middle sister when I came to Daddio's last Saturday (10/26/13) with my youngest sibling. Upon walking into Daddio's, my sister and I were taken back to Saturday mornings with Dad. We kind of looked at each other and knew from the tears in our eyes that we would have to bring him back. The interior reminded us exactly of the diner we used to frequent: small booths with bench style seating and a breakfast bar with stools where you could watch the cook. On the walls and around the ceilings was decor that reminded us of our childhood: snoopy, mighty mouse, dick tracy, monopoly boards, trains and so much more. On our table was an ispy game of the diner, that we really enjoyed! The music that drifted through the air was a retro, hoppy, beat that set a happy mood. Throughout our dining experience my sister and I couldn't stop talking about how awesome this place was, and how much we wanted to come back and we hadn't even ordered our food yet! The staff was awesome: they answered any questions that we had, were polite and very friendly. Now onto the food. Oh my goodness; the food was SOO good! We both had ordered from the specials: "Jack'O'Lantern Pancakes" and the "Lobster, Shrimp & Asparagus Omelette." We were shocked at how much food we received! My sister gobbled all of her fluffy pancakes down sans syrup; the cinnamon maple butter made it perfect. The breakfast sausage that came with it was bigger than your average sausage and so delicious. A tall glass of O.J. made the meal complete. My meal had so much food that it required 2 plates! The omelette was half of the plate and was piled high with delicious, crunchy golden hash-browns. My wheat toast was perfection. It wasn't burnt, nor was it under toasted. The sheen of melted butter on it was sheer joy for me. There wasn't much room to talk because it was SO good. The occasional "mmmhhhmmm" and "ahhh" and sighs of delight were pretty much all we said. At the end of the meal we were tempted by the fluffy, giant looking cookies in the jar on the counter. But with a take home box in hand, we sadly passed. We will definitely be returning to Daddio's in the future. Next time, with Dad! read more

Classic small town breakfast diner. Daddio's has been around forever and it stands to reason why: they're food is consistent, tastes great, and priced right. I went with a group of 6 for brunch on Saturday and we were all very pleased! My girlfriend and I both had their California Omelette with lots of veggies and TON of avocado. It was huge and delicious. Homefries were perfectly crispy and rye toast was spot on. Others in the group had sandwiches with homemade potato chips....these chips are awesome. Also the pancakes looked massive. Service was helpful and friendly and the owner stopped by to make sure food and service met everyone's expectations. Food all came out hot and fresh. We drove past Daddio's and decided to swing around the block and stop in. With just my wife and our younger son, we sat at the counter and had a true diner experience. My wife and I ordered breakfast. She got a pancake that was the biggest I've ever seen. I got an omelet with hashbrowns and toast. It was well more than I could eat. It was delicious! Our son ordered soup on this 100 degree day (what's with that?). He got split pea soup, which had a stronger flavor than he was expecting. When the manager (perhaps it was Daddio himself?) saw that my son hadn't touched the soup, he offered another bowl of a different soup saying "I don't want him to leave hungry". This is the kind of great service we love to see! Next time we're in Batavia, we'll be stopping at Daddio's again. read more

OMG! You must come to this restaurant on a Tuesday. Apparently Tuesday is their Mexican day. They have Tacos, Chicken Quesidialls, and guacamole, chips, and salsa. The guacamole and chips is not on the menu but you can order it. The chips are home made and the guac and salsa is the best I have ever had. I get my quesidialls with either taco meat or just cheese. I'm not into chicken. They finally got around to changing the name from Cathy's but I thought it was Daddio's not Daddo's. read more

A sub-par experience, which I suspect reflects a downward trend in quality at this restaurant. I ordered chilaquiles. The server asked if I wanted to add meat, and when I inquired about chorizo, she said it would add about $3.00 to an already roughly $10.00 plate. I demurred. The dish arrived as an unattractive heap of triangular taco chips with globs of cheese and scrambled eggs stirred in. Bland salsa verde was spooned over the top. I suppose I asked for it, but I had hoped for some artistry. I don't think I'll be back soon. read more

Went there today for breakfast and it was awful. I had the California omelet which included 2 huge chunks of hard, unripe avocados. Husband had the bananas foster french toast, which had unripe bananas and some weird, gray-ish sauce. When I brought my avocado issue up to our server, she came back with a plate of almost-black avocados. I have no idea what the hell happened to this place but we're never coming back. Husband said "Daddio's? More like Daddy knows... how to fuck up your breakfast." I laughed and laughed. And then I got sad because I spent $12 on that shitty omelet. read more

Located in a little strip plaza in downtown Batavia, this is my go to place for breakfast. It's not fancy but the food is good and I have enjoyed several meals here. I usually get something from the specials menu. Most recently I had the stuffed potato skins with rye toast. Throw a little hot sauce on top and it filled me right up. The interior decor reinforces the old fashion diner feel. There is also a small counter area off to the side where you read the paper while eating. The mismatched coffee mugs add to family "atmosphere". Get here early as space is limited. read more

Went here last night for corn beef and cabbage. Who would've thought! Batavia's little diner has the best corn beef and cabbage and boiled potatoes in the area. Beef was incredibly tender. Potatoes were buttery with parsley on them. Cabbage was very tasty because herbs were added when it was boiled. And all reasonably price. Can't go wrong with this meal. read more

The owners are fabulous! The staff is fabulous! The food is fabulous! And the cookies, TO DIE FOR! If you aren't familiar with Daddios, it is owned by husband and wife, Scott and Terry Beltran. I have grown up with this restaurant over the past 6-7 years and love this restaurant and everyone in it like family. I go there all the time with my mom, but have made it a trend to go every morning on my birthday each year. Every year they light a candle and sing to me. It's has always been a wonderful way to start my birthday over the past fee years (: Scott is a wonderful owner. He is friendly, kind and does EVERYTHING around that place. I love daddios!!! The owner is so nice and friendly and really accommodating, you really feel like you walk into his home when you walk in. There's not a ton of seating so if you go on a weekend you'll probably be waiting- but you don't even mind because the owner makes you feel welcome and comfortable and will even offer you coffee while you wait! The omelets are FANTASTIC! You can go wrong with any of them! The coffee is great and the servers come around a lot to refill! I'll start by saying we are from the community for the past 27 years and have frequented this establishment now Daddios for a very long time. (We believe in supporting local restaurants if warranted) This is your typical greasy spoon diner and with that said it served its purpose. This complaint is about the owners RUDE behavior!! Period! My wife and I came to this place on a holiday at exactly 11:25 A M. As we entered we were met immediately by this owner guy (whatever) who approached us and proceeded to open the door and said "we are closed". I said "well the sign in front said "open until noon"? He held the door open and said "I said we're closed!!!" With the door held open and standing there we walked out!!! I can assure you that we will never again return to this place and will notify ALL of our friends in this area to boycott this joint!!! Rude!Rude!Rude!!! A hUGE JERK to treat customers like that!! I hope they go OOB and I will do all I can to help the jerk achieve this!!! Now--if you folks want a really great breakfast diner head just down the street to BATAVIA DINER! Daddio's is by far the best breakfast joint in Batavia, so don't be deceived by the modest setting. The menu features highly unique items like the No Way Jose, one of my favorites, which includes layers of scrambled egg with chorizo, crunchy tortilla, and refried beans topped with a sprinkle of red onion, cilantro, black beans, house made salsa, and sour cream. They also have new and interesting specials on the weekend, so you will never get bored with the menu. It's kid friendly; my daughter loves spotting all the vintage diner toys on display and they offer prizes and healthy options for your little ones. Finally, their service is excellent; the waitstaff and owner make you feel like family and go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of. This is my new favorite place for a Monte Carlo sandwich. My kids loved it. They can get their food served in cardboard cars. It is also a great place to play "I Spy" while waiting for your food. This is a family owned and operated local diner. This is important to me. The food is good. The waitstaff is nice. You can sit at the counter or at a booth. Breakfast is a must. In this small community of corporate owned and operated food service it is nice to see your food made to order and brought with a smile. As far as I can tell the cooking area is clean and well kept. Daddio's misses one star for two reasons: poor a/c and no wifi. Daddio and Mommio often work the diner. Daddio is a friendly interested and engaged owner who makes you feel like you belong.
