Great ice cream choices! I got Michigan pot hole which is a chocolate explosion. My son got pirates treasure which has Carmel ice cream with Oreos and cookie dough in it! FYI they only take cash

We ate breakfast here and really like the atmosphere. Ate on the front patio. I had the veggie omelette and my husband had the breakfast burrito. We both liked our food. I was pleased with my omelette. It had generous amounts of mushrooms, onion, tomatoes, and green peppers. My toast was nicely toasted and good as well. Nice server. View of the bay to one side and the four corners and woods to the other. If we were not leaving today we would come back here. It has a small nostalgic diner feel to me, like places I remember as a child.

This was my favorite place to eat while on the island. The staff was super friendly and the food was amazing. Had an island burger, loaded fries, and their pizza after a few visits. Each item was great and all the ingredients were fresh. I'd say best pizza and burgers in town. They had nice outside seating too so it was a great place to hang out. The owner or cook came out and had people taste test a new recipe, which I thought was really cool.

Food on beaver island can be as remote as it's location, but one can always find affordable provisions here at Daddy Franks. Decent Wet and Breakfast Burritos can be had, as well as all manner of burger, dog and fried goods. It's cheap, accessible, and affordable, perfect for your remote island adventure.

New Owner needs to bring back a better selection of adult sandwiches. Sagging quality from last year.

I checked…read moreon Yelp for suggestions, and after perusing what was open on that day and hour, we headed to Shamrock. Located on Paradise Bay and with a large side patio, we happily made our way over on our bikes for dinner. The bartender greeted me when I walked in, and when I said that I wanted to sit in the patio, she said "Sure! Grab a seat wherever you like." I found one in the front corner, perfect for watching the Bay, and ordered a Shirley Temple and a Chicken Cordon Bleu wrap. Both arrived in a decent amount of time. The wrap really hit the spot that evening. Crispy chicken tenders with ham and cheese for a little crunch from the fresh lettuce and tomato, all on a toasty wrap. The fries were cooked to golden and came with a smorgasbord of sauces for dipping. While we ate, we watched the calming scenery of the sapphire bay, and waved hello to bikers who pedaled past, all while keeping an eye out for the seagulls who kept watch for any morsel of food we may drop. The food was filling, the service was friendly, and the location couldn't be beat. For dinner on Beaver Island, don't hesitate to stop by Shamrock!

The shamrock has a lot of charm but I'm hopeful the new owners will improve things somewhat…read more While I've mostly had decent but not great bar food here, the main issue is the prices are truly insane here. This is a common problem on Beaver Island because everything has to be brought off island but when you're paying almost $30 for a pretty average burger or some bland fish and chips, then it becomes a bit weird. I think if the new owners take over, they should either lower prices or improve the food quality because the quality of the food really doesn't match the expense. The service is pretty lackadaisical but I haven't had really bad service here just it tends to run on "island time" The bar and the patio are both very charming

Now every time we go to the try to plan to make sure we can stop here and get lunch and usually order a little extra for dinner too There are multiple roads that go north from two in the so unless you're going to Sault Ste. Marie almost every time you could choose to go here which we do We always try to stop by and support Wayne and his family! great fresh burgers, fantastic customer service and love that they are second amendment supporters and did not freak out when we came in with our guns on our side they also have ice cream station in here with I don't know + flavors not exactly sure Whenever you get a chance, please stop here on your way. It's worth the trip even if it's out of your way. Lori Levi

We then thought, let's wait...pizza didn't sound too appealing. Thankful we did. The food didn't take near 45 minutes. They had just served a group of 30ish motorcycle club members causing the wait. I can tell you the moo (locally sourced from the owner's brother), fin (whitefish from Lake Superior) and the fries (fresh cut!) are all great! The owner checked on us and shared his story of opening the restaurant. He built the furniture, did the stainless work, tables, benches...all of it! Not sure we'll be back through the area anytime soon, however, if we are, we'll definitely go back. I mean, we tried everything except the ice cream...so we have to? I heard it's a state law.

But it turns out that you…read moreshouldn't judge a restaurant by its name, because Chuckwagon served us what was probably the best meal we had on Mackinac Island. And it was the cheapest, too! Blessed from all directions. A patty melt was on the menu, so that's what I got. I can't not get a patty melt if I see one on a menu! This one was beefy and melty, with caramelized red onions between two slices of rye bread. All of the burgers and sandwiches come with plain potato chips and a pickle spear. We also got a regular cheeseburger and bleu cheese burger. All of the burgers are served on a pretzel bun, which is not my favorite type of bun, but I wasn't eating those burgers, and the eaters didn't seem to mind. Chuckwagon has a small kids' menu (the Lil' Buckaroo's Menu), with four items on it. Your kids can choose from a pb & j sandwich, a hot dog, a grilled cheese sandwich and mac & cheese. My little buckaroo chose the mac & cheese, which I believe was Kraft mac & cheese. Kids' menu items don't come with anything additional. This is a small restaurant with limited seating. You can sit at the counter and watch the action happen, or if you're lucky, you can find one of the few tables lining the wall or located in the back of the restaurant. Either way, depending on when you visit, you might encounter a crowd! But I think it's worth it to visit this old-school diner-type restaurant.
