The maid arrived on time and started to leave after 90 minutes. I paid extra for windows and baseboards that was not done so the maid came back in and left 25 minutes later after supposedly completing this. I then did a walk through - 1/2 the windows and baseboards were not cleaned, other areas still had dust, mirrors were not cleaned. I did not think I would need to micromanage. I wish I had. So I paid $185 for 2 hours of a maid or $92.50 per hour. My house was not that dirty and for almost $100/hr, I assumed you could eat off the floor by their completion. TERRIBLE. And my name was repeatedly misspelled in their communications and on the invoice. Needless to say, I did not retain their services. RIPOFF.

The amount of prep work needed to get a quality and trouble free hardwood, or even engineered wood floor takes more knowledge and skill than one would think. It's more than just the installation. My wife and I have installed several floating engineered wood floors over the years and decided to do this one as well. But we have never glued flooring before. We hired Sam to come and do a moisture reading so we could determine the proper glue to use. While he was setting it up I asked a few questions which quickly turned into an education I could have not gotten anywhere else. We quickly realized how much more prep we needed to do. When the prep work was over, Sam, who out of the kindness of his heart, came to help us get the first few rows installed on his day off! He taught us troweling techniques, talked to us about layout and gave us tips that only an experienced installer would know. Sam spent several hours of his own time and asked nothing in return. You can tell he takes great pride in his craft and really want's people to enjoy what they purchase. I wish more craftsmen approached their jobs with the integrity, pride and skill that Sam brought to us. He told us he has been doing this for 20 years and shows! Two days later, we were able to book an available appointment time and we appreciated the 2-4pm window (rather than the 8am-5pm window internet providers give). Even better, we received a text heads-up when they were on their way. Before Roger even rang the doorbell, he had all of the equipment from the S.W.A.T. van unloaded and ready to go! I showed him the rooms we were hoping to clean, and I apologized for the section of carpet in the corner of our bedroom that our dog had destroyed by scratching/digging a "bed". He said, "If you're interested, this is something we could repair in the future- up to you." (we just may do that!) The project required a lot of work- not a DIY job for us. He and his team demolished, abated and rebuilt the ceiling. Wow! Such an amazing job. His price was very fair (we didn't have time to get multiple bids- but the price seemed very good). And he started the same day! He also worked during the week of Thanksgiving- coming daily to check on the drying-abatement issue. Additionally he finished strong- with the final touches and cleaning up. His work is very professional- using all right materials to protect our kitchen, equipment and supplies to do the job right. We have selected Centex Carpet and Paint over other large Roofing Companies. Manuel was very honest, sincere, kind and considerate. He did not asked us to sign any contracts on the first meeting, and he suggested several options of fixing the back siding. Manuel had waited until the weather was sunny and warm with no rain in the forecast and completed a great job on our back siding. He replaced areas with holes and painted the entire back side of the house. Remember, Manuel's bid was at least, 5 times less than other local and national roofing companies that had their company sign all over the neighborhood. I strongly recommend Centex Carpet and Paint. We will be contacting Manuel in a few months to paint our house and replacing the carpet.
