I got the pork belly Benedict. The food was fine. That being said, we were seated around 12:15pm on a Sunday. We sat for about 20 min (a party of 6 with three children all under 5 yrs old) before we received water even though we were seated outside and it was in the mid-90s. I had to go inside to get a server because nobody came out to take our order. They finally sent someone to take our order around 15 min later. By this time it was about 12:45pm. We didn't get our food until about 1:25pm. The entire time we waited for our food, nobody checked on us a single time. Please note that the restaurant was at most 50% full. Decent food, but will not let you customize your order. Such as adding a fried egg to a reuben just after brunch hours, just because brunch is no longer available. It was packed but the waitresses sat us down within minutes, drinks were brought out in no time, the game was on and before I could wet my whistle, the appetizers arrived. In no time at all our lunch was served. Considering how busy the place was, I was surprised to see such fast, friendly service Katie, Kelsie and Alina were awesome. Came here a few weeks ago for lunch. Had the veggie sandwich. Food and service was excellent, even during the busy lunch rush. Came back today with 7 women for a late lunch around 3pm and sat on the patio. Restaurant was not very busy at all, but service was not good. Our server was not overly attentive or friendly. We got one refill of our drinks. While the burger I ordered was delicious, the lettuce wrap it came with ( protein style) was wilted and sad. The worst part was subbing a salad for fries is an extra $3 charge and it isn't a fancy salad. It was a few tomatoes, onions, and croutons. When your burger is already $15, that seems very overpriced. Wont be going back. Wont be recommending to my group again. We go fairly often to Dad's. The beer selection is most always very good and I really like a number of the menu options such as the Dad's Burger and Hot Blonde. Service is mostly good, although we have experienced a few bad days, especially if we have a group of people. Most often it's just two of us and usually eat at the bar. The bar has had a little more turnover lately and we do miss some of the former bartenders. We would go more often if the prices were a little better. Especially over charging to sub out the fries for a salad. The new rotating specials menu is pretty good, however more than once we have been disappointed on the size portions on some of these items. read more

A fundraiser inspired our first visit to this family-friendly eatery but the fantastic food and service will bring us back! I love the classic diner style menu with upgrades to organic greens, grass fed beef, house made onion rings and lots of local craft beer choices. We sat on the patio and our server was very attentive and our food came quickly even though they were busy. My fish and chips were delicious, my husband loved the Philli and the kids had enough leftover grilled cheese for lunch the next day. We've been here about 4 times. Sometimes I just come to pick up food though so I don't really count that. The food is usually pretty good although sometimes the cook is inconsistent. Price is maybe a little more than I'd expect for a few things, but overall it's good. I absolutely love their fries though (habanero blue cheese fries). They are more health conscious than other places. I would recommend them. I've had a problem once and the manager was eager to fix it. I'm satisfied so far :-) read more

Not sure why people have such bad remarks. It's a definitely a neighbor bar/restaurant. The burgers are amazing: full of flavor, juicy, and cooked perfectly. Onion rings are on point. Had the garlic fries and they were a little soggy but I didn't mind. The artichoke dip is wonderful. The green machine is sandwich was flavorful, would be good just for a lunch sandwich. My brother and I went here for his 21st birthday dinner last night. It was awesome, and let me explain why. First off, we didn't order anything that was on TV for being "the best thing they serve," and when you do, you're bound to end up disappointed. My brother DID get a burger and he ate the whole damn thing. It looked good but I didn't get to try any. Second, Dads has good food in a laid back environment. The service is very friendly and everyone is happy here. Third, they have mixed drinks and mine was delicious. In fact, my brother drank most of both our drinks. For the people who come here based on a television show: the chef is probably sick of making the same 3 dishes day in, day out, over and over and over again. Try something new, the other menu items are just as tasty. I had a Zesty Chicken Salad, I loved it. It was a good salad. I had previously visited their location on Freeport, and had one of the "famous items," guess what, it was just ok to me. We drive by Dad's kitchen daily and have heard good things about it and decided to stop in today. I was hoping for breakfast but they only do brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Which made sense but I was still a little disappointed since it is a holiday weekend and they are closed on Saturday for the 4th. We walked in and was greeted pretty promptly. There was no wait, we asked to be seated on the patio and was sat right away. Upon entering one thing I noticed was the stains on the waiting area bench. A little surprising since this location isn't that old. It's decorated cute with signs all over. Reminded me a lot of apple bees. Sitting on the patio was nice. Big open area and plenty of room between tables. Only thing off putting was the amount of spider webs. A plant near our table was entirely covered and a large web behind our seats on the low wall dividing the patio from the parking lot. It didn't feel dirty but just not well kept. Even with the lack to detail for upkeep, we enjoyed eating here. The service was great. Had a very friendly young man as our server. He checked on us several times and had another gentleman helping with drinks and making sure we had what we needed. It felt relaxed but not over bearing. The kids had the two cheeseburgers which came on a Hawaiian roll, which my kids love. Much better than a massive bun cut in half. The fries were lackluster. Nothing special and my kids didn't really care for them. The ketchup had a strange taste and may have been bad. My husband had their version of a Philly cheese steak. He said it was great. He isn't typically a sauce guy but loved the aioli. He definitely would recommend it. He had the seasoned fries. They were mediocre. He had the Bloody Mary which he enjoyed and came out quickly after ordering. I had the turkey burger with a side salad. Turkey burger didn't have a ton of flavor but the aioli was great. I enjoyed it. The salad was a nice mixed fresh greens. A few onions and sliced tomato. It would have been nice to have diced tomato instead of sliced but it didn't bother me too much. I had the chipotle ranch dressing. Very mild but creamy. All together I was happy with my meal. The ice tea tasted fresh. We want to come back to try the brunch. We would come back for lunch. Not amazing but decent food. Overall I felt the cobwebs and stains were the biggest issues we had with Dad's Kitchen. Loved the patio. read more

My friend and I came here for dinner on Friday night. The restaurant was full with a 40 minute wait for indoor seating so we opted to sit outside so that we could eat right away. It was a hot summer day and there were flies buzzing around our food the entire meal. My friend got the dad's burger and I got the cowboy burger. We both thought the burgers were good but not spectacular. The bread was uninteresting but the inside of the burger was pretty good. Personally, I think fries are a really important part of a burger meal but unfortunately these fries were not great. They remind me a little of In-N-Out fries because they are rather thick and bland. We LOVE sitting in the bar particularly because of their bartender Nick. Anytime we come in he always makes my boyfriend and I feel welcomed. We ordered through Door Dash and unfortunately our driver took their sweet time. I love the fact that the restaurant contacted us and let us know what was going on. Very much appreciated not being left in the dark. We figured the food would be barely warm when it arrived and it was but it still tasted great. It reheated easily and still (even reheated) tasted fantastic. We were happy with the portions for what we paid and can't wait to visit the restaurant in person. The slab of meatloaf I got on my sandwich was gargantuan and the fried pickles are a revelation. Finally, pickle chips that still taste like pickle and not just fried dough. What a great casual, fun, clean and tasty place! From the hostess who greeted us, the manager that also welcomed us and the female bartender who gave us superior service, we were quite impressed! I had the veggie burger and onion rings and my boyfriend had the omelet special. Both were outstanding! This place has the best onion rings I've ever had. The beer selection was really great. The bartender let us try a sample before we decided on our pints. She was very knowledgable about the beers they serve and made great suggestions. This is a fantastic place to watch a Giants game! The place is really cool. The welcome home sign is unique on the front door. I had the chili mac and it was amazing! Our waiter did an amazing job, however the manager was kind of a douche bag because we had a big party then tried to cover up at the end when we were good customers. Sadly, upcharging for "less" is okay at Dad's. The spicy chicken sandwich with fries (menu price) is $15 (an already expensive price). The upcharge for onion rings is $3.50. I placed my order. I received a chicken sandwich and 3 small onion rings (no fries) for $18.50. Seriously? How can Dad's justify $18.50 for a chicken sandwich and 3 onion rings? When I asked the waitress about this, she shrugged her shoulders. When I emailed Dad's, they never responded. I assume they don't care and the less-for-more upcharge is okay. I patronized this neighborhood location during the pandemic. Going forward I'll find a new restaurant; someplace that doesn't implement a bait-and-switch upcharge to $2-$3 per onion ring.
