We came in for a casual date night and had a great time! Prime time (6 on a Friday) the wait was only about 15-20 minutes with plenty of room at the bar. There was plenty of seating on the shady patio, but it was really hot outside, so we opted to wait for a table inside. We had a drink and watched the NBA finals on the TVs (there was no sound so it wasn't noisy). I tried the Mustang Sally cocktail and it was well balanced and delicious! We were seated for dinner pretty quickly. The only problem I had was deciding what to order. The luau shrimp salad? Meatball sub? I finally decided on the lobster mac and cheese. While the portion wasn't large, it was delicious! Creamy and mild with fresh lobster (not fishy) and garlicy breadcrumbs. My husband got the ribeye and was thin but large with great seasoning and veggies. I'm not a big steak fan but I really liked it. We ended up grabbing some beignets to go for the kids, which were really tasty and came with 3 dipping sauces (our favorite was the Berry, although we ended up eating most of them without sauce). The atmosphere was upscale, but very casual, quiet and fun. We saw families with young children, couples on dates, and friends enjoying a meal together. My wife and I visited yesterday to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, the experience got off to a disappointing start. Upon entering, the hostess with the brown curly hair was noticeably rude and unwelcoming, which isn't the first impression you'd hope for when celebrating a special occasion. The food, however, was outstanding and was definitely the highlight of the evening. Every dish we ordered was well-prepared and delicious. Service was a mixed experience. While our server was polite, the service was quite slow throughout the meal, despite the restaurant being fairly empty at the time. Overall, the excellent food helped make up for some of the service issues, but the rude greeting and slow service took away from what should have been a memorable anniversary dinner. I hope management addresses these concerns, as the kitchen is clearly doing a great job. read more

This used to be one of our go-to spots in Folsom. Brunch, lunch, happy hour, and dinner. We loved Iron Horse! We're so sad to say it's awful now! We ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and had three bites that actually had chicken. The rest was bread! It used to be a full piece of chicken, what happened? It's small chicken nugget slivers now. Our kids pasta came out lukewarm like it's been sitting. Both of them! Water cup had nasty residue from the previous guest... so very visible, idk how they didn't see it before giving us the glass!!! Other than not caring?? Even the table in front of us sent back their food because of how it was cooked. Our server took our order and we had to ask for everything else. No water refill, no check in on if we needed anything (like plastic utensils would've been nice for the kids but we couldn't get a servers attention!). No. It was not busy. I know why now! We tried to give them another shot today after a bad happy hour experience here not too long ago and we will not be back anymore and do not recommend. read more

We came here for brunch a few weekends ago and although we have been here about a handful of times, sadly this time was not as great. The quality of the salad ordered was mediocre, in fact some of the greens were wilted. The French toast with berries was probably the one of the things that was better. We also celebrated birthdays and the brownies that were provided were extremely hard. We probably should have brought our own cake. The quality of the service just was not as good as our last experience from a year ago. Iron Horse Tavern has the best Happy Hour (M-F 3pm-6pm)! But if it's after 3pm AND it's Wednesday, you are in double luck, my friends! IHT has HH specials til closing time (9pm). Food deals include half off all appetizers ("smaller") and tavern pizzas (flabreads). Specialty cocktails, wine, and beer are discounted a couple dollars and well drinks are nicely priced at $6. We came around 4:30pm and there was a lot of seating available. The hostess was welcoming and our server Evelyn was great. She had a chill and pleasant attitude and was very efficient with our requests. Kitchen was quick to bring out my poke nachos, and our combo pizza and chicken wings came within 10 minutes. My husband had to send his lemonade back because it was carbonated, but they fixed it right away and it was perfect. The poke nachos was stacked high with crispy wonton chips and diced raw tuna with a spicy aioli sauce throughout. The buffalo chicken wings were sauced just right and still a little crispy. I heard the server tell another patron they can do bbq sauce or naked if you do not want buffalo sauce. The flatbread pizza wasn't as crispy on the bottom as I'd like (probably because of all the toppings) but the edges of the crust were good with a nice chew/crispy ratio. Overall, food was delicious, and at half off, definitely worth it, Since there were only a few patrons in the restaurant at the time, it was fairly quiet, but I've been when it's packed, loud, and lively. Despite living only two blocks away, the food arrived lukewarm, though whether the fault lies with the tavern or DoorDash is unclear. The Food: The onion rings were leathery with a dense, heavy batter, and the hamburger was genuinely terrible. It was completely inedible; I threw it out after just three bites. Not sure to what make of this place. The place looks really nice but the overall vibe is off. The bar staff were great but everyone else looked like they did want to be there. The reason I mention the time is that there were people having lunch but it was not crowded and our server seemed overwhelmed a bit. She was pleasant but not on her game at all. The food was pretty good. My burger was good but probably could have been cooked a little longer since I ordered Medium and it was more like Med Rare but like I said earlier our server was a bit overwhelmed and not on her game. My parents and I visited this restaurant last night for Father's Day dinner. Usually when we're celebrating something we go out to breakfast, so color us surprised when we tried to drop in on a few different restaurants and they couldn't seat us for another hour and a half. We made our way to Folsom Palladio and eventually found availability at Iron Horse Tavern. They were able to get us seated within a few minutes. The hostess and our waitress were very kind and had amazing customer service. There were not as many people as I would've expected in the restaurant having Father's Day dinner. This place has a full bar and very Dad coded menu items. We arrived hangry so we ordered a cheesy bread starter, and it was delicious! I got their traditional burger with sweet potato fries, my mother got the prime rib sandwich, and my father got the meatball sandwich. All of the food and drinks arrived in a very timely manner, and everything tasted awesome! I did not snap any pictures because we ate it too fast. My mom really loved their iced tea (citrusy). The whole ambience was very chill with great music playing at the perfect volume in the background. This is a really awesome place to eat, and I'm concerned that it's not getting as many customers as it should because of other restaurants around it. I just wanted to put it out there what an awesome experience we had especially on a holiday. They also do private events and have a heated patio. Serendipitously arrived here during happy hour. The place was kinda dark, but I enjoyed the air conditioning and nice decor. Our girl, Emily, started us off with a Cream Ale, Espresso Martini, and Asian Street Tacos. The Ale was very smooth, the Martini tasted like chocolate milk and vodka(take that as you will), and the bulgogi in the Tacos really stood out! We continued with the Tavern Combo Pizza and Beignets. The Pizza was delightful! It was perfectly salted with the Parmesan, the meats worked great together, the crust was light and crispy with a few delicious crusty bubbles! My daughter also loved the toppings and cheese. Then there were the mountain of beignets. My husband just came back from New Orleans, so these puppies had some big shoes to fill. They were light and fluffy, with a good crisp crust on the outside, but my husband was critical of their non-square shape. They weren't very flavorful without the powdered sugar or dips. We got a generous amount of beignets, about 9 pieces! So we took some home for our other kiddos. And Emily hooked us up with some dips to-go! Altogether, our bill was about $55. Went here for a Christmas party recently. About 20 or so of us. We got seated immediately. Their drinks are great! Their appetizers are AMAZING. The giant pretzel is yummy! The nachos were great and I especially loved the fried pickles. Going to the entree I ordered the short rib papperdelle dish. And it was okay, not a huge fan of it. The mean actually tasted a but gamely for me. The desserts are again. A huge hit. The churro waffle with ice cream was probably the best dessert I have tasted in my life. We had a Company Dinner Meeting party of 10 and we made a Reservation. When we came our table was not setup yet so we waited for a bit but not that long. Server was not very attentive of our table and have to flagged her down if we need something but she did remember that one of our party has allergies on sesame seed. Which was very thankful for that, My General manager have asked our server for refill of water, one Pepsi and if possible blinds can be put down on the other side of our table but waited 10 more minutes until the manager did it. The fried chicken was overly done and dry. The pancakes that came with it was flavorful and thick! I wasn't too fond of the bourbon jalapeños syrup, so I asked for regular syrup. I've been going here since I moved up from the Bay Area and it has been always spot on for food and service but this time there was noticeably been a change( changed hands). We went for a breakfast brunch and had high hopes. What I received was not the scrambled eggs I ordered but a flat omelette pancake, cold potatoes ( which probably sitting there for hours),burnt tuff chicken sausage and dry toast. It wasn't packed when we came in (didn't make a reservation) but it did fill up as it got closer to 6, so keep that in mind. + HH Ahi poke nachos (sweet onions, spicy soy, nori, avocado, wasabi cream, sriracha mayonnaise, tomatoes, crispy wonton chips): Massive portion of chips but not a lot of poke/avocados - worth for the HH price. Great snack for drinking. $8.95 + HH pickles and onions: massive portion. We couldn't even finish half. Comes with creole mayo which was yummy. Would like ranch with this maybe as well/more dip options! Note: it's a very light batter, so depends if that's your vibe or not. Think more pickles/onions than batter, they're also pretty big pieces, instead of individual onion rings. Yummy regardless, great for sharing and drinking. $5.75 + HH giant pretzel: best app out of the ones we got - massive, fresh pretzel with sriracha cream cheese, honey ground mustard. Honey mustard was great, but sriracha cream cheese was kind of bland. Would prefer a stronger flavored cream cheese (more sriracha forward/ garlic) or maybe house ranch. $6.75 +Cocktails: we got 4 drinks to try between the two of us - Day dreaming (Grey Goose Pear vodka, peach liqueur, lemon juice, vanilla and simple syrup, dehydrated pear): my personal favorite! Great pear cocktail if you like pear. Not too sweet, but the vodka isn't overpowering. Love this one. Mustang Sally (Tito's vodka, Monin Hibiscus syrup, raspberry syrup, pineapple juice, lemon juice, brown sugar, raspberry: personally, I wasn't a fan, it tasted kind of like cough syrup to me but my fiancé loved it. If you like mixed berry flavored candies, you'll like this. This one leans on the sweet side. Saddle up (Bacardi 4 rum, Bacardi Dragonberry rum, guava puree, lemon juice, simple syrup, cayenne pepper, sweet and spicy sugar rim): this one was probably our least favorite of the four only because you cannot taste the guava puree whatsoever. We thought the guava would be stronger, but you mostly just taste the spice, so this drink leans more on the spicy cocktail side - think jalapeño margs. Iron lady (Skyy Blood Orange vodka, Pallini limoncello, Aperol, simple syrup, lemon juice): I really liked this one. Admittedly, it was very sweet comparatively, so keep that mind. It tastes like orange starbursts, but I definitely still felt the vodka. $10.50 each (this price is the HH price - $3 price off normal) *Do note that my fiancé and I both like fruity cocktails, so these all mostly really hit the spot.* We had a great experience, and we loved the cocktails primarily. Would definitely be back, especially for happy hour. We would probably try new appetizers next time, but we would get the pretzel again. read more

They have huge TVs on the patio and a large amount of seating, the bathroom and bar area inside is nice with plenty of seating inside as well. The service was good. The waitresses didn't mind working around our dog as she moved from lying on one side of the table to the other. The food was good. The Korean chicken came with a bunch of fresh sliced jalapeños. The fried chicken and pancakes were good, but the pancakes were heavier and less fluffy than I would have liked. The bourbon syrup was a nice change to the typical maple syrup. The one star is for the Hostess, she had a welcoming smile and a good food recommendation. (since we didn't dine here to enjoy the food.) We were excited to try this restaurant after seeing all the amazing photos of the French toast and Loco Moco on Yelp. The hostess greeted us warmly and seated us at a lovely table -- the atmosphere is gorgeous and welcoming. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. After 20 minutes of sitting, not a single server acknowledged us. No offer of water, coffee, or even a quick "I'll be right with you." Meanwhile, we saw servers chatting and one of them even made eye contact with my husband, but no one walked over. A table next to us was seated after us already had their orders taken and were enjoying friendly conversation with their server. She walked by us twice while we waited. We decided to leave because if it takes over 20 minutes just to be asked for a beverage, it left us worried how long food would take. It's disappointing, especially because we came in really looking forward to brunch.
