Very genuine. * Banchan options were ok - note: typically at all Korean places the banchan is free and endless (here I overheard you have one refill of you favorites) which I did request. * tofu soup - so so yummy especially w the cold weather. It warmed up my tummy and a side bowl of white rice was the perfect lunch for me AND I had leftovers. The food is great but the service was terrible. Specifically from the waitress with the pink hair. She was rude and treated us like we offended her by coming in. I understand feeling like you are rushed when it is busy but she was just wretched and ruined the whole meal. Couldn't wait to get out of there. Not your regular Korean BBQ At Dae Gee KBBQ they bring out all the meat options that they offer for their all you can eat and then last that you're able to request your desired meats of choice. The side options are a bit more pickled but they aren't gross. A crunchier cucumber kimchee is usually what I prefer and theirs aren't as crunchy due to the extended length in time pickled. All of their meat options are delicious so its not a bad thing that they bring out all of them to start, its just different. Service is good, they check up on you and clear the table as well as keeping you updated on everything. Lighting could be improved, there are some tables with direct lights and others that are a bit dim but you're not completely in the dark. It's a tradition to come here on certain occasions and those traditions shall continue on. read more

I had not been down town to get food in a long time. I always was happy that Dae Gee had opened a branch in Fort Collins. I was very dissapointed in my take out dinner. I ordered Pork Bulgogi and it was like they put no seasoning on it and it had zero spice level. The onions were raw. I will give them one more chance and I hope it was just a one off. read more

Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - KBBQ Plate of Pork Bulgogi (Dae Gee Bulgogi) was good. It's a spicy/sour/sweet marinade on pork slices. Not the best cut of meat but good with marinades and very generous portion this time around KBBQ Plate of Pork Belly (Sam Gyeob Sal) was great! Less frozen than previous visit so it wasn't constantly just leaking water. Entree of Soup (Gook) with both rice cake and chicken dumplings was a bit saltier but good with rice. The rice cake had a slight chewy texture which was great but the chicken dumpling filling was only meh. The kimchee soup was better if you can take spicy! Ambience: 5/5 - very quiet evening. A super fun restaurant for a crowd! If you've never experienced Korean BBQ you should definitely give it a try. I had been to the Westminster location but thought I would check out the new one in Fort Collins too. The grill tables at this location are a lot smaller but still get the job done. We had a party of 6 and they were kind enough to cook the pork and chicken for us in the kitchen as those meats take longer to cook. Once the food starts coming out it never stops! You will not leave hungry and if you do, you're doing something wrong. There was a bit of a wait as it seemed they were short staffed, but all the staff was very friendly and worked quickly to get everything out. Ate here thinking it was going to be a fun, somewhat quick meal.... Spoiler it was not. When we arrived we were not greeted for over ten minutes. There were also three empty tables when we arrived. Granted they all had loads of dirty dishes on but still- empty. We were quoted a 15 minute wait which wasn't an issue for us so we decided to stay. Once we were seated it took another 15 minutes to get a server to come over. Not to mention we were sat by a water station that was overflowing onto the floor behind us. We were about to get up and leave and the waitress finally came over. Once we placed our order it took another 15 minutes to get our sides and finally our water! (By the way the overflowing water station was never cleaned up- just two paper napkins used to "soak it up" and the waitresses proceeded to walk through the puddle. I totally understand how hectic the place can get when you only have 2 servers for 20 people and about 8 tables, but for a place where we are cooking OURSELVES, it would be nice to not spend 2 hours there. I ordered a coke (never got it) but went on about my dinner as the food finally arrived. Honestly, not really any complaints about the food. It was decent KBBQ for a college town and I left full, but the service was just . Thought this experience was turning around until I asked for an extra side of kimchi as the original portion was not enough to feed a gerbil. The waitress replied in a snarky manner and said "looks like you haven't even touched the first one" and proceeded to give me a story about how her manager is watching on the cameras...? Ok... whatever that is fine, until 10 minutes later she brings it out. Sounded like an excused for not wanting to walk through the puddle that was still there. If her manger was really watching the cameras I'm sure he has bigger fish to fry (the incompetence of his waitstaff) than refusing an extra side to a PAYING customer. They just kept adding dirty dishes with meat scraps pilling up and never thought to roll it to the kitchen. First of all- lazy. Second of all disgusting. Third, totally unsanitary. Anyways, I was fed up and finished my meal to get my moneys worth, but I was stilled charged for the coke I never received. Wasn't until I asked the waitress for a new check that the coke was then taken off and I could get out of here. Safe to say I'll never be coming back between the terrible service, lack of cleanliness and bad attitude from the staff. True this spot with colleagues while in town for a conference. The wait staff was nice and accommodating. At first I was disappointed that it was a chain, but it offered a fairly authentic experience. We all ordered hot bowls. They got beef and I got short ribs. The side dishes that go along with the bimbimbap were tasty and the server was there to refill whenever a bowl for low. My favorite was the pickled radish. The bowl was hot with lots of rice, meat, veggies and an egg of top. With the gochuchang (please excuse any poor spelling) on the side to top, it was a delicious meal. I finally tried Dae Gee after months of staring longingly at it from the Uno Mas patio next door. I've been curious about this place for a while, but wasn't sure if they'd have anything vegan to eat--after all, it is a BBQ restaurant. I was pleased to find a tasty doo boo (tofu) Bee Beem Bhop, as well as numerous meatless sides like pickled radishes and spicy pickled cucumber. Our server brought out all the sides at once so we could try all of them and get more of the items that we liked. We loved all of them and ordered extra of at least half of them. Our server was very good about notifying me of which sides had egg, dairy, etc and which were safe for me to eat. I got my bibimbop in a bowl as opposed to the hot stone pot and was disappointed to find that this meant it was served cold. I wasn't alerted to this by the menu or the server--maybe it was obvious, but if so I didn't pick up on it. There was a $3 charge for getting it served in the hot stone pot--I would've loved for the dish to be warm in the regular bowl without the extra charge. I'd definitely recommend Dae Gee to anyone looking for something a little different from the usual beer and bar food. read more

Thank you for unlimited bbq! one thing that excites me is unlimited stuff and Dae Gee does that. the best bulgogi i have ever tasted. Along with pork belly, chicken, short ribs (not unlimited but it's because it's so good!) and marinated pork. all this to dip in the delicious DAE GEE sauce. Comes with around 7 sides and some rice to complete the whole meal. I kept getting the kimchi pancake because kimchi here was fire. Every time i come here, the food tastes great with great consistency which is hard for most places to do constantly. the atmosphere here is a nice modern open spot with nice red colors, my favorite. there are 2 TVs on with sports playing or with something to watch if wanted. They have a beautiful patio area out front that you can sit at and enjoy a beer or sake if you want. the service is great. they are attentive to your needs and refill your water at the perfect time. This seems like a place that you would pay extra for the experience but fell flat. The service hardly explained the table bbq and disappeared. The marinade was tasty but it was hard to get the food correctly. First time at this location I've been to the one in Westminster before. This location is nice and easy to find. So as far as Covid they do so the right things and the place was very clean. Service was good and friendly only suggestion I would make is check on the table a little more for refills when doing the all you can eat. The food was great but then again I'm a great cook ;) On a serious note the food really was good and you don't walk away hungry at all. We did have the all you can eat lunch Korean bbq and meat and sides are plentiful. Our server was very kind and she was helpful with questions. We'll be back as it's a little closer to home but you can't go wrong at either location really. I went in for a late lunch, craving Kimchi. I got an oolong tea and a galbee beebimbhop hot stone bowl. Aside from BiBimBop being fun to say, it's a entree, which means I got all the sampling of Korean sides, including my fill of kimchi. The galbee (shortrib) portion was a bit small but I really love vegetables, so everything else plus the mushrooms made it satisfying and delicious to me. I will say I wandered in there a couple years ago, just after they opened and pretty much ignorantly ordered a kimchi soup, which had a lot of pork fat, so I didn't love my first experience and it took me a while to make it back -- if you're new to Korean food, maybe look into menu options beforehand(?) There is not much Korean bbq to choose from Fort Collins. I was a bit disappointed with this place, We had the AYCE BBQ, which was 38$ per person. The services was exceptional, but the quality of the meats and food weren't all that good, the side dishes were very bland and not much. The meat cuts were very thin, the pork belly was pretty much bacon now, it's that thin, the briskets were very rough and dry, the best meat was the galbee which was 8$ more of you want more, but remember it's an AYCE BBQ, definitely not worth the price. the dumplings were good. If you want good kbbq or Korean food, I'd recommend driving down to the metro area, Overall can't really say I'll be back anytime soon to any dae gee restaurants. read more

New Korean bbq in Fort Collins! Not a lot of AYCE Korean bbqs in this area, so this a nice touch to the city. You don't get to cook the meat at your tables, but they bring a nice variety platter of meats to you on a hot plate. All of the meat was deliciously marinated and perfecting cooked. They have a wide selection of sides, with amazing kimchee as well. They accidentally gave us an extra bottle of soju, and comped it!! So, great service, very hospitable. I had Dae Gees seafood tofu soup, seafood soondubu jiggae. It was delicious with the rice offered and I also enjoyed all the banchan. I highly recommend y'all give the tofu soups a try especially since it's getting colder now into winter soon. These soups will help nourish your body during the cold weather. The staff is so nice, she was a super cute Korean auntie. She took care of me. It's low key during lunch but I can see how at night the Korean bbq can attract crowds too. The meats were flavorful, topped with sesame seeds! There's also a vegetarian option which was swell. In Korea, they dump hot coals in the pit, and lower a hood to vent the gasses. Here an electric grill is used. The food was good, my daughter in law was an experienced Philippine chef, cooked the meat. The candied onions were a favorite. The main draw back was the $38.00 per person price, a bit steep. I had a chance to experience the full Dae Gee Korean BBQ experience at a Yelp event last year and was excited to hear that one would be opening in Ft. Collins, even if it was going to be a "fast casual" experience without the in-table BBQ experience. After waiting for what seems like forever I noticed the other day that they are finally open -- yay, another Korean food option in FoCo! Apparently they have been open for a couple of weeks, though the cashier I talked to said that they haven't done their "official opening" yet ... so maybe watch for some sort of grand opening event in the near future? Anyway, so yes, this is fast casual K-BBQ with a fairly limited menu ... but BBQ options do include galbee (short ribs -- my favorite) so as far as I'm concerned all is good. You can also get bulgogi in its various forms -- beef, chicken, pork -- so the basics are covered. You'll order a bowl (choice of 1 meat) or plate (2 or 3 meats), which comes with rice and servings of 4 types of banchan -- kimchee, cucumber kimchee, fermented onions with jalapenos, and pickled radish. A couple of appetizers are also available -- mandu and chicken wings -- and shave ice for dessert. I ordered a bowl with galbee ($2 extra) and found it to be a satisfying meal, though those with larger appetites should consider one of the plates. One thing that kind of surprised me was that they put my bowl together in front of me, then took it to the back to cook ... so I guess everything in front is par-cooked? The result, though, was piping hot, tender meat so I don't really mind the bit of a wait. My one disappointment was the banchan. I felt like they could have been a bit more varied -- e.g. swap out either the kimchee or cucumber kimchee with something more savory like fish cakes or Korean pancake ... a minor gripe, but the difference between 4 and 5 stars for me. There's also a little market, where you can stock-up on instant ramen bowls, Dae Gee "pig out" logo gear, and -- lo and behold -- in the refrigerated case my beloved fish cakes available to take home, as well as other sides, musubi and bibimbap ... sort of a grab & go option, except that you have to ask for your rice separately (a good thing -- who wants to eat refrigerated rice?). I don't know that the whole "pig out" branding works quite as well when you don't have that all-you-can-eat, cook-at-your-table K-BBQ experience, but I am glad to have another Korean food option in town. I look forward to seeing how our little Dae Gee outpost evolves as they start figuring out FoCo tastes. read more

Wow, what a crappy experience. The food is pricey, but good. I have been here at least 10 times in the last year and a half, and I always get the same thing- beef bulgogi. After my experience today I will not be returning. I called in at 2:26 to order a late lunch during a very hectic work day. I ordered the beef bulgogi and was told 10 minutes. I showed up, paid, and drove home to let my dogs out. I got home and opened my meal to find it was the wrong item, apparently it was the beem bhop. I called back and got the same employee (only FOH staff member there) and let him know, very politely, that I got the wrong order. I was really short on time so I certainly was a bit frustrated but it was an honest mistake, so I wasn't going to take that out on this employee and make his day shitty. He apologized and let me know he could remake the correct order. I arrived back at the restaurant 10 minutes later. The food was still being cooked, so I waited in the front (I was the only customer there both times). About 5 minutes later the employee walked to the front and handed me a bag, apologized for the mistake, and proceed to the back of the restaurant. I looked in the bag and noticed it didn't have the 8 sides that are supposed to come with it. I asked if I could get the sides, he repeated my question back to me and I said "yes please". He then proceeded to role his eyes, say "yea sure" and reluctantly grab me the sides from behind the bar. I took another look in the bag- no napkins, chopsticks, or utensils. I asked if I could get those items as well. So I had to take a 30 minute detour, be late returning to work (also now not able to eat my food due to lack of time), and drive out of my way back to the restaurant all because of a mistake made by this employee and this is the treatment I receive? I was really nice to this guy, I've worked my fair share of customer service so I am never disrespectful to people doing the same. However, he made the mistake and then proceeded to display horrible customer service. The first order was packaged nicely with all the sides I paid for and napkins/utensils, why would you not do the same for this order ESPECIALLY considering it was a remake? This whole situation was avoidable. Mistakes happen, that was not a huge deal to me- why couldn't you just make it right and be a decent human being? The sauces were exceptionally sweet and odd. There wasn't a single Korean character on the menu. I had to read the terms out loud to try and figure out what they were trying to say. The worst romanization of Korean I've read in a long long time. Bad sign. The pre marinated meats were gross. The sauceless meats were a variety of frozen cuts- not bad. It's just the same meat you can get at the grocery store. The side dishes were pleasantly not bad. The tofu soup was actually quite nice. The service was fine. It was quiet. Nice big windows.
