Dr. Dagny Zhu is nothing short of incredible. As a fellow healthcare worker, I never thought I'd find myself writing a review for a surgery, but Dr. Zhu is one of a kind. As a pediatric general dentist, I'm seeing 40-80 kids a day - to say my vision is critical is an understatement, and I'd only be trusting my eyes to the best. LASIK has completely changed my daily clinical and non-clinical life, and even 5 or so years after my original surgery date, easily remains one of the best health related expenses I've ever done. For those of you interested in the academic side of things, Dr. Zhu is well credentialed - a Harvard graduated MD, with Ophthalmology residency at the Doheny Eye Institute / USC & Los Angeles County Medical Center. Her fellowship was at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. As if that's not enough, she still does research and mentors upcoming residents. This level of training and active commitment to the medical community as a whole speaks volumes to the caliber of clinician that Dr. Zhu is and aspires to build unto others. Due to my correction being borderline for the limits of LASIK, all contingencies were planned for to ensure excellent outcomes. This is best and most underrated place to get LASIK in LA. With other offices, you'll pay more and get worse results. Dr. Zhu has top credentials (Harvard MD, did her fellowship at the #1 place in the country for ophthalmology). She also has the latest and best equipment. I got LASIK this year after wearing glasses/contacts my whole life. Best thing I've done this year and wish I did it years ago! Before getting LASIK I did exhaustive research and asked around my firm for referrals. They mostly referred me to these practices in Beverly Hills that seemed way overpriced. Also, the doctors there were "established" (read: old). I'd rather have someone experienced but still at the height of her physical and mental powers. Recovery was super easy and I was at more than 20/20 the next day. Would recommend LASIK for anyone, esp. with Dr. Zhu! read more

It's certainly changed my life, and words can't describe how wonderful it is to wake up in the middle of the night and see the time. I chose Dr. Zhu on a recommendation and after much research. I couldn't be happier. All the nice LASIK practices have new, state-of-the art equipment (if they don't, run) and Dr. Zhu's practice is no exception. So it really comes down to the surgeon and the quality of care they provide. And I have to say, out of all the medical procedures I've ever had, this one ranks as the best. Dr. Zhu is energetic, caring and spent time answering my questions - not only for my comfort, but also to make sure I got the best possible result. To top that, she's trilingual and it was impressive hearing her converse to patients in multiple languages. If you follow her clinic's page, you'll see that she's very up to date with all the latest techniques and even gives talks to local optometrists. All the other patients (and relatives of patients) I talked to were very happy with both the care she took with the procedure and the results! During the consultation, I wasn't a good candidate for Lasik due to dry eyes and was recommended for E-Lasik or Lasek. However, after running multiple tests, Dr. Zhu cleared me for Lasik, which has a shorter recovery. She took time to explain everything to us (1st consult is free), why we should wait for procedures and everything. She's not the type to push procedures on patients.
