This is our fourth and final time visiting The Daily Grind (I gave them an extra strike) and this time, shame on me, I brought out of town quests. While our bagels/lox, egg sandwiches, and coffee were good, the place is dirty, the bathrooms disgusting and the service terrible. On our previous visits I attributed the bathrooms to being heavily used (still no excuse) and the service to being busy. NOT TRUE! Today it was 10am, the place relatively empty. The bathrooms were gross and the staff exuded the same attitude of us being lucky that they even took our order much less being interested in providing any kind of "service" I would love to know who owns Daily Grind. He, she, they, obviously don't care about cleanliness or service, this kind of stuff always comes from the top down. Good bye Daily Grind, you have seen my last dollar and hopefully your other patrons will wise up and speak with their wallets as well. Maybe then you'll understand what I'm talking about. read more

Solid coffee place - no frills but great coffee and tasty egg sandwiches. Amazing local joint !

Been here twice since my move from California. Used the doggie door once, with less than friendly customer service, hot chocolate was ok. Went inside hoping for a better experience, same "no manners/unfriendly" customer service, even though I tried to compliment the Latte!! Will not get my business again - very disappointed as I heard nice things but the reviews on here with my same experience are "deemed" not useful....mmmmmmm read more

I really like this little shop. Don't even drink coffee that often but when i do i want it to taste good which it does here. got all the things i like to put in it including honey instead of sugar. I like the lattes and when i have my laptop with me i bring it out and sit with a friend. wish it wasn't out of the way for me because id go more often. read more

Really cute coffee shop in Fells Point, very spacious inside with lots of wood and brick. Staff were friendly, coffee was reasonable and good, and they have a decent selection of pastries and even some sandwiches. The line wasn't too bad when I got there, but it didn't take long until it was out the door. But the staff seemed to keep up pretty well with the crowd. There's a bright and sunny seating area towards the back of the shop, if you want some morning sunshine while you read your paper. read more

Cute little place. My iced mocha was delicious. The place was relatively quiet when we came in and they were out of a lot of pastries. The staff seemed so laid back they weren't professional. We had to remind them several times about our orders... when there were no other customers. Would stop back in again if I were in the area, but most likely to go. read more

I had a delicious chocolate chip cookie and a hot chocolate. I enjoyed them both. Service was quick and friendly. Only issue (and barely that) the girl making the drinks spoke so softly I could hardly hear her. Had I not been standing directly in front of her I probably wouldn't have. This is a nice little cozy coffee shop located within downtown Baltimore. This is what Starbucks would look like if it was not franchised and was instead ran locally. There are plenty to choose from on the menu and there are even sandwiches! But be warned they do stop serving after 4pm. If your a coffee lover and your in the neighborhood then come stop by. This appears to be a hipster crowed location for chatting with friends and browsing on your computer. read more

Great spot to grab a cup of coffee and sit down and either get some work done or just relax. I was killing some time before meeting a friend in fells and decided to come in and grab a coffee. Coffee was delicious and there are plenty of tables to work/relax at. I like the overall vibe and if I lived in fells his would probably be my go to coffee spot. I didn't get anything to eat but the pastries all looked delicious and the menu has a variety of sandwiches that all sounded amazing. Will definitely be back when I am in fells again! read more

I stumbled in here hoping to get my caffeine fix fulfilled. I was excited to see that they had coconut syrup and decided to order a iced coconut soy latte. The service was very nice and the atmosphere was spacious and comforting. I ordered a small and was extremely surprised to see how small my drink actually was in comparison to the price. I thought it was a little over priced and the latte was TOO sweet. In fact, I tasted no espresso or soy. All syrup.... which made me realize I should have mentioned VERY light on the syrup. I can't say I enjoyed my drink, however it a nice place to relax and study. read more

It can be easy to miss wedged between the bars littering Thames Street, but Daily Grind is a nice spot to grab a coffee and get some work done if you're in Fells. Their coffee is nothing to write home about, but it's quiet, spacious, and has strong wi-fi. They'd probably never become my go-to, but I definitely don't have any complaints. read more

I brought some friends from out of town to Fells on a Friday night and we decided to grab a cup of coffee and sit on the docks. It was about 8:30pm. There were two patrons sitting inside the establishment. It was quiet. Two baristas behind the counter. I ordered a large hazelnut coffee with room for cream. I was told that they we're getting ready to close, so I couldn't get hazelnut. Really? They couldn't put two pumps of flavored syrup into a pre made cup of coffee, even when there is 30 minutes left before they close & no one else in line? One of the baristas did offer me ready made iced hazelnut coffee. I took it. It was ok, but nothing to rave about. read more

I have a tendency to be very (in fact overly) critical of coffee houses. The fact is, with the right equipment (french press pwned) and the right coffee (haters suck my fair trade beans), you can make one hell of a cup of coffee everyday at home. That being said, I enjoyed my mocha at Daily Grind. It was chocolatey, but you could still tell it was coffee with its bitter undertones. My companion (who is not much of a coffee fan) got a frozen caramel something-or-the-other, and just as she hoped, it tasted nothing like coffee and entirely like candy, so everyone was happy. The prices were pretty standard for coffee houses and Starducks (Starducks is like Starfox but with a lot more eating pieces of galactic bread people throw at you). The atmosphere was comfortable, including a lot of seating for a coffee house. The baristas were not hipsters (so you didn't have the extra pressure of them knowing they are better than you), but Of Montreal was playing on the stereo so there was some vibe (refer to my review of Capital Grill for a firm understanding of how I am over Of Montreal). They also had book case of free independent newspapers and zines for patrons to enjoy while sipping coffee and being over Of Montreal. Overall, a nice coffee house, I would certainly go back. read more

Daily Grind sure is busy for a place that a lot of Yelpers complain about. Daily Grind is a must-stop for me every time I visit Baltimore. This is not just a coffee house. Something I think is overlooked by a lot of the reviews. It serves delicious bagels and sandwiches too. The Lox and the Works (capers, sprouts, tomatoes, cucumbers) is the best bagel sandwich I've ever had. I think their coffee is far better than what other reviews have stated. Not my favorite, but well above average. Espresso drinks are the best way to judge a coffee shop in my opinion, and I have yet to be disappointed. The layout of the shop is also nice. Although they seem to have room for more seating if they chose. Overall this is a great place for a coffee, weekend breakfast or a couple hours of study time. read more

I'm giving the daily grind a five star review because I've been coming here my entire life and the food drinks and staff are consistently good and well priced etc, but a recent visit I found that after paying with card I wasn't given the option to tip for the services I received with my card. As a service worker and patron of service based establishments, it is strange to me that had I not been carrying cash I would be left unable to tip your employees, which is both awkward for me and unfair to your staff. When I was a barista, my tips earned daily could add upwards of 10 dollars an hour to my pay, which is how service workers are able to survive the low paying hourly work they do. I hope this issue is resolved as I'm sure lots of your customers would like to tip for services received. Please consider! read more

Pretty sick of Starbucks so I enjoy this place a lot. A large selection of beverage. They have a window to the outside which you can walk up to (imagine a drive thru with no car) and I remember a couple times the girl was wearing a bikini top. Great for tips. The inside is comfy and inviting. The outdoor seating is great for watching the nuts of baltimore. read more

For those who like to work from a coffeshop this is a great spot, just get early as many patrons like to stay long hours. Wireless connection is free and somehow reliable. Patio during warm weather. The coffee is good and have a great selection of food too. read more

I spent many a day and evening here studying. However, mostly, just cuz there aren't a lot of other options for cafe studying in Fells/Baltimore in general. Nothing particularly wrong with the Grind, just pretty mediocre. The location is great though. I wish it (and all coffee shops in Bmore) would stay open much much later. read more

Years ago, I used to love this place. But now everything is average or worse. From the horribly uneven quality of espresso drinks to the burnt coffee to the stale baked goods. The only redeeming qualities are the space and the WiFi. read more

I like the Daily Grind, it's always a cozy place to grab a coffee and relax for a bit. Their fun, creative blackboard is unique and their coffee is always delicious. The bathrooms, however, are horrible... even the island where you prepare your coffee is disgusting sometimes with an overflow of the center trashcan. read more

Honestly just not a fan, and I really tried to like it because it's so close to my house! The coffee isn't good. I've tried several of their beverages and each time I'm left super disappointed. They do, however, have a lot of space in the back for studying and what not. The only issue is that it can get pretty loud sometimes and difficult to focus. read more

Creamy chai latte, and interestingly named coffees. I don't remember which coffees we got, but one was too sweet and the other was really bitter. We mixed the two together, and that made them a lot better. Nice place to study if you can get a seat. read more

I mainly love this place for the bagels and cream cheese - I can't speak to the coffee. The lines can get really long to place your order, then you will wait again as it is being prepared, so don't go there when you are in a hurry. They have a doggie door if you have a dog which is really cool, and that line goes faster. It is a great location, but if you sit outside there are a lot of smokers in close proximity. Inside is pretty roomy and typical funky Fells Point. Based on the bagels, which is why I go there - I give a 4 otta 5. read more

The baristas are expedient and everything always tastes great! I especially like the lattes and americanos.
