Went here today for the first time! Great menu with hot and cold options. Nice selection of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, soups and salads. On site parking. Indoor and outdoor seating. Very kind and welcoming staff who genuinely seemed happy to be there. Got a yummy chai tea with homemade oat milk. Large panini and wrap with fresh ingredients. To top it all off we got a grilled pistachio muffin with butter..delish! We will be back!

Honestly I'm so sad to write this review cause I used to LOVE this place. In the past two years, I've had mini flys in my food (as pictured) and a piece of a plastic utensil INSIDE of my wrap, that cut the inside of my mouth when I bit into my wrap. Is the staff nice? Yes. Atmosphere? great. But the risk of getting a bad experience with their food, seems to be high lately. Who wants to bite into an expensive sandwich and find FLYS?! I think they have tasty stuff, and pretty okay coffee, but I don't want to risk spending money here anymore.

First, heads up, it seems like you can place a takeout order through Yelp but the cafe does NOT partner with Yelp or Grubhub. It's a goof on Yelps end and your order will seem like it went through, then get canceled. The cafe is great though. I really enjoyed my vegetarian breakfast wrap and will go back to try other stuff. The employees were also really awesome about the Yelp confusion and fixed my order right away. They keep it moving really fast for takeout too, which I appreciate. Would recommend!

Cute place with nice pastries and sandwiches!! We loved everything! Adorable atmosphere and very cozy inside and out. The young servers were so friendly and efficient. Wish I didn't live so far away because I'd be there often.

I had their signature "mule" cocktail which was very yummy. My husband had a draft in which Rachel had to change the keg but she didn't seem annoyed by having to do this. We have gone to places where the bartender was too busy to change it out and told him to order a different beer. But not Rachel. She also brought us waters and bread without us having to ask for it. We shared the crab cake appetizer and the duck entree, which were well proportioned and delicious. The bar was cozy and I love the blue paint color and thankfully the Celtics were not playing that evening because the bar does not have a TV. So if you are looking for a quaint bar that does not offer TV, a bubbly bartender, scrumptious food, than 9 Elm is the place. :)

The staff are friendly and the servers knowledgeable and efficient. The hostess had trouble finding our reservation (my companion was already seated) but it seemed to be quite busy that Friday night. The restaurant consists of quite a few separate rooms and we were seated in one that was not too crowded. (I walked through the bar on my way in and that was hopping.) I had a glass of sauvignon blanc and after studying the menu and consulting our server my companion and I both went for a burger. There was no problem with my swapping out the french fries for onion rings (points there!). The burgers were done exactly to our liking (mine mediume rare, hers medium well). I should have turned down dessert, I was that full, but my companion was willing so we went for it. There was a good selection of typical New England desserts and we finally settled on a blueberry crisp topped with vanilla ice cream which was good but not great (not sure I can put my finger on why, so it may be that I was too full to enjoy it). There is a parking lot although it is not paved so was not fun walking through at the end of a day when it clearly had rained. It also could use some lighting. This is a wonderful restaurant suitable for a special occasion or an ordinary night out. I will definitely be back.

We ordered a few things to split and went off of what we saw at other tables. So many people had the pizzas so we had to give it a go. The French onion soup was fantastic and rich. The Ceaser salad was good, and not too intense but it was garlicky and had homemade hand ripped croutons. We were starving so we ordered the Brussels sprouts on a whim and it was incredible! The umami flavor and sou sauce ginger aioli with the pickled onions was so unexpected we almost ordered one to go. Lastly was the pizza, the dough is great and sadly we didn't get to try their red sauce but the pizza was excellent. They have a huge beer selection and we loved seeing their on tap selection. Definitely recommend getting a reservation since they never had empty tables but there wasn't a line out the door. There are two sides to the restaurant and the bar is big and well staffed. We waited about 15 minutes to get water or see any one at our table but that's because we came at 6:30 pm on a Saturday and they were absolutely busy. Once we saw our waitress and got our order in it was quick and smooth sailing. Highly recommend grabbing a seat at the high tops and enjoying your time.

Nothing on the menu or from the server mentioned that, which was disappointing right away. When I told the server I didn't like it and wanted something else, he literally tilted his head and said, "ummm what do I tell the bartender?" That honestly rubbed me the wrong way -- just felt unprofessional and awkward. Jenny got a tequila cosmo, which was fine, nothing special. Food-wise, everything was just average. The bao buns were overcooked and the bun fell apart, though the flavor was decent. The pineapple fried rice was probably the best thing we had, but even that was just okay. We also had dumplings -- Jenny liked them, but I thought they were just alright. Dessert was the biggest miss. The blueberry cobbler was not good at all -- maybe a 3/10 at best. One thing that really didn't sit right was when we asked to split the tasting menu and were told no. That doesn't make much sense -- if people want to share, especially for a tasting menu, it should be allowed. Overall, nothing stood out in a good way, and between the service and the food, solid ambiance , it just wasn't a great experience.

If you want a clear view of the musicians, try to sit on the right side (opposite the entrance), though the middle works too. It's a fairly small space, so most tables can see, and all tables can hear. Overall, it's a fun spot -- good food, a relaxed vibe, and the live music (when available) adds a nice touch.
