I gotta admit I'm not a big daiquiri drinker, but this strawberry mango daiquiri is off the chain! I know it's a daiquiri shop, but can we talk about the food for a minute? My husband and I've been coming here since we went in high school and for the record I'm 59! It seems like the same emoji's still hang out by the video poker machines year after year, but differently, so it's cool! The same guy it was cooking food when we were sneaking in here at 17 is still cooking in the kitchen. It is food is just as good as it always was in particular. I've gone here many times before and have great reviews but I just have to put out there how uncomfortable I felt today and was treated by the man at the counter. I was going in to buy a gallon of daiquiris and asked for a taste of one and then when I asked for one more taste of another, he smirked at me and acted like I was doing something illegal. He did not thank me or speak to me while he openly spoke to everyone else. I know I'm just one customer but I truly like to patronage neighborhood businesses but will go to Metairie for daiquiris for now on. I've always loved Daqs & Co! It's my favorite daq spot in the city. The space has ample seating, has good music, and always has good daily deals. My go-to flavor is Bay Breeze...its tropical (sort of piña colada esque with a hint of strawberry), but not super sweet. Highly recommend! This was my first time trying food and it was pretty good! The very first thing I would ask of anyone is to make sure that whatever flavor you go for has a alcohol combination that works well together. I ended up putting strawberry and peach together and found myself taking a lovely nap not long after. However, that flavor combination was really good. If I didn't know any better, I would not suspect that there's alcohol inside of it. Food is surprisingly fresh. Shocked by fresh shrimp and not frozen pre-breaded. GRESH GRILLED burgers, I like the poyboy burger. Food service wait times are like a typical restaurant, definitely not a fast food joint. Most nights there are more than a few people but not overly crowded. No outdoor seating available but always people outside smoking. The Daiquiris are standard quality with extra shots available. For those not familiar with Daiquiris, most typical drinkers will not require extra liquor. The only reason I could not rate them higher is due to the noise. They keep it cranked up uncomfortably loud. They do turn off the music when important games are on. After 5pm when the boss is away, it is LOUD popular (Explicit) rap artists. They have a jukebox but I think the young lady bartenders use Amazon Music, which would reflect their own music preferences over that of the patrons. Maybe thats why most people who are drinking stay outside. Parking can be a challenge. The side road is Mexico St is not presently a priority for the NOLA Road crews. Great place to pass-by if you're going to the Lake Front. Wish they had a drive through. read more

I visited with one of my friends as this is one of his spots that he comes to.I have been to several daiquiri shops and this one seems to have a very large selection to choose from in addition to having a full bar. I'm not much of a daiquiri drinker so I got a drink from the bar. They did a good job fixing it. They also serve food which I didn't try on this visit but I know that my friend has eaten there regularly so I will assume that its good. Parking can be a bitch if its really busy, but we drove the block a few times, and a spot on the side opened up. It was pretty packed, so it took a little time, but once it was our turn, the woman that tended to us was sweet and helpful!! I tried a few and settled on Bay Breeze or something. It was made with Cruzan Rum, and I'm a tequila or whiskey woman, so sweet was a bit unusual, but I loved it!! I got an extra shot, as suggested by the locals (lol), and it was TEN times better than the "other place". You can mix flavors, and get a gallon if you want. $7 for a 32 oz drink... psht, I'm there! They have specials several times a week for the daiquiris. They have a bunch of different po boys, fish, and other seafood plates and other sandwiches. I had a shrimp po boy and it was delicious. There were plenty of tasty shrimp and bread was fresh. The daiquiris are decent too. The bathroom is upstairs and small. With my neighborhood daiquiri shop closed, I've been hopelessly trying to fill the chilly, sugary void left in my heart. This place certainly looked like it had potential. The metallic, neon interior evokes an old diner feel. I loved the vibe and it was nice and clean looking when I went in. I feel bad about leaving this review but I gotta be real. My wife and I came in for daiquiris and I told the bartender it's her fist one ever. Asked if there's any ones he recommends, he acted like he was annoyed and pointed at two. Most bartenders would let her try a few especially if you recommend 2 flavors, I'm born and raised here it's common. A sample is probably half an ounce, not like we're trying to get free drinks. I had to ask if she could try it. he gave her a sample of one flavor and stood there until I asked for the same. Wife said she wanted two mediums of both flavors. He started to mix the flavors in one cup until we stopped him to clarify the 2 flavors separately. No big deal to us, I'd pay regardless but he was clearly more annoyed. I was in there probably 10 minutes and bought 3 daiquiris and left a few dollars for tip. I paid with my card, he told me where to sign and that's it. No thank you, no nothing. I don't need anyone to roll out the red carpet, but don't treat us like you're doing a painful favor. Maybe he thought we were tourist and felt a way, or maybe he's having a bad night. My first time ever in NOLA & one of my friends hipped up this spot to go get lunch. Parking is not that all great but my company managed. It was like walking into a twilight zone because I've never been to a restaurant that plays rap music in the background which shocking at first but it felt so welcoming. The inside of the restaurant felt like a diner, adding to its aesthetic. I had heard that the burgers were good so i thought to give it a try. The burger was so good, it was amazing. I've never tasted a burger so well prepared before at a restaurant in my life. Assuming he probably wanted to know what kind I said "a bottle of Miller Lite". Instead of getting the bottle he rang it up and walked to the kitchen in the back. A few minutes later, the female bartender said "You tryin uh drink Bud Light? I poured it by accident." At this point I'm just glad to have someone offering to serve me. "Sure, I don't care." I said.
