It's been 5 years since my last review so it's time for a new one! I have not missed a beat in coming here as a regular for almost 14 years! I've lived in Metairie, Slidell, and New Orleans and still come here as a regular! Their daiquiris are still the best, hands down! This is why I drive here no matter what! I pass up many to come here. There are many to choose from. My favorite is the House Special with an extra shot of course! I sip slow because they are potent! Over the years they have remodeled and added all the touches needed for Monday Night Football, Wednesday Steak Nights, Friday Trivia, Girls Night Out, etc. Heather was the lovely Bartender on duty tonight. She's always pleasant, friendly, and most of all knows the regulars like me! I enjoyed the wings and my girlfriend enjoyed the burger & tots. Absolutely delicious! This place is great. They have a drive thru window, which is great if you just need a drink to take home. Do NOT drink and drive. The atmosphere is fun with darts, arcades and video games. They have outdoor seating and a calendar that is full of fun. The menu looks tasty and reasonable priced. We were there for steak night and as you can see a 14oz ribeye that we shared. I came here on a whim on a Sunday afternoon. I wanted a daiquiri and a quick bite. The daiquiri was a great start. I ordered the Bay Burger. Before it came out , someone else was getting their Southwest Chicken Egg Rolls. I ordered myself some and I was glad I did. The food was impressive for a daiquiri shop. My quick bite got extended as I got caught up in a game on one of the TV's. Great food and drinks and the bartender was very nice! read more

Used to love to come here to get burgers but now you might as well go across the street to Burger King because it's just a typical frozen Sysco burger now. So disappointing. Would only suggest getting food from here if you're drunk. Also, no point in saying how you want it cooked because it will just come out grey and well done like a fast food place. read more

DBC is a nice dive bar or I like to call it a Daiquiri shop. Some of the best strongest Daiquiris around! The services is always good every worker is so nice and polite. If you don't want to sit or go in they have a drive thru as well. My go to is the House Special you can add an extra shot if you are up for it. If you are in the area you won't miss it, it has a colorful DBC sign near the rode. Pull up and give them a try you won't regret it! read more

On my third trip to NOLA, I had to partake in the drive-through daiquiri experience. The Large is massive and was pretty damn strong (although we got an extra shot too..for only $1!). It cost something like $7 bucks for a Large - very affordable. I had a strawberry banana which was pretty good but not amazing. The alcohol kind of overpowered the flavor. My friend's Banana Banshee however....was AWESOME. So I definitely recommend that flavor. Like many people that visit NOLA, we stayed in the French Quarter. Getting a cab here and back seemed very inefficient. So we asked the cab driver to stop here en route to the French Quarter from the airport! It's actually on the way so it didn't cost us much extra. The place is nice and the bartender was cool... The only thing that I hated was that they allowed SMOKING inside the building. This will definitely keep me away. I actually thought smoking was banned in public enclosed places. DBC place is cool for Saints and LSU but get rid of the smoking inside. I hated that I left out smelling like tobacco. read more

Originally visited on the strength of a food network 5 min of fame bit I saw not long after moving here. I wasn't yet employed and had plenty of time on my hands so I said why not. I lived in Kenner at that point, sad I know, so I was happy to find another spot to frequent while learning my new surroundings. I wasn't sure what to expect so I opted for the drive-through. Once I saw the banana flavor on the menu I was sold. I made the right decision too. I still have yet to see the inside of this place but I enjoy their daq if I'm in the area and it's one of the nights they have a special. This place is fantastic. They serve delicious daiquiris and food if you are looking for something to munch. We stopped in a little later on a Saturday night and I was tired of drinking beer, so I got a margarita daiquiri. It was really good and actually tasted closer to a margarita than other shops that just taste like a mix. I know that this was from a mix too, but it had more flavor than other spots. The bartender was friendly and made us feel welcome. I'm sure smoking is allowed since it's JP, but I didn't notice a smokey smell in the place, which puts it at the top of my "cool" list. read more

Are you kidding me, alcohol daiquiri drive thru? SERIOUS? That would NEVER exist in Cali! They say they leave the top of the straw wrapper on so technically they're not promoting drinking and driving. A supposed loop hole in the system. As I sat in this college style bar, I noticed that the drive thru got all the action. Car after car pulled up. Inside the place it was pretty dead. A few people on the video pokers, drunk couples trying to play the music box, empty ping pong and dart boards sit awaiting usage. There are plenty of flat screens all over the interior that you can't miss your favorite team's highlight. Plenty of fruity of daiquiris to try. The banana flavored one was surprisingly the best one for me. Not a fan of the egg nog and the Pina Colada was okay. So... I'm a Tavern on Vets steak fan, but hubby and I decided to try the steak here. Wednesday's the steak is cheaper at $15. We were thoroughly surprised. The steak was delicious. They don't use Genes like Tavern, but they do put real garlic butter on top. Those garlic pieces make this steak. It's also a bigger steak, but has more fat pieces. So thumbs up for the steak. Don't like that it's $15 only on Wed. It's $18 or $19 the other days. Tavern still wins for best steak at best price. I also had the chili cheese tots and those had real cheese! I hate the processed cheese some places use. They were great too. The daquiris are strong and it's only $1 to add a shot, which I did. :) only needed 1 drink all night. They also have a couch to lounge and sit and chat or watch tv or eat like your at home. Thought that was cool. And they have this game where you try to fit the ring around the hook. Ummm what can you say about a Drive Thru Bar??!! This is the greatest idea since sliced bread. My friends and I, who all are from states that would never allow this to happen, all came here in the car just to say we tried it. All the Daiquiris were fantastic. I got the Island Citrus and it was amazing. Drinks were strong and cold (good cause its so humid in NOLA). You can even get a Jack & Coke in a to go cup! The drinks were strong enough without getting an extra shot. This place puts Fat Tuesdays in Vegas to shame. Better yet they have happy hour and the prices ranged from 5 bucks to 7 bucks at the most! I was brought to this place by my coworker after work after she saw I was having a really stressful day and our trip here made me feel SO much better. The girls working that night were so sweet and attentive and I've become a regular since then. Their frozen hot chocolate daquiri is actually the best and I stop by and get it even when I just want something sweet because it's so good and you can't taste the alcohol in it at all. I honestly find it hard to believe that there is any because I can always taste it in anything else (I'm a lightweight) and I'll be so sad when it's out of season. The food is good too! I wasn't asked for my ID the first time I went, maybe because my coworker and her girlfriend are also regulars but I have been asked for my ID several times since. One girl in particular was a little rude and asked to see it a second time when I was trying to decide on a flavor because I wasn't sure if I should try something new or stick to my usual but I understand she was just doing her job and I do look young as well. Overall this place is great and the staff is always nice, I've recommended and have brought several people to this place since. They also have punch cards and specials during the week. read more

What a great little joint. not too fancy... not too funky... just the right amount of fun. Grabbed a couple of burgers and a couple of daiquiris. The burger was delicious. A nice mixture of ground beef and brisket. Quite juicy and just the right amount of char off the grill. The daiquiris were tasty and well-seasoned (with the liquor of course). They have a plentiful variety of flavors / without going overboard. Gotta watch out for the brain freeze though... they are ice-cold. And as a bonus, there's an awesome little game room. Darts, board games, bar games, and a handful of poker macines if you're feeling lucky. Makes for an awesome date night. And the prices were terrific... cheap cheap cheap... What's the first thing you're supposed to do once you fly into NOLA? Hop in your ride and pull up to a drive-thru daiquiri joint, that's what! As a part of a bachelorette party group, this was definitely the way to get the party started. The lady at the drive thru was friendly and recommended her favorite flavors to us after checking our ID's. Personally...Best Drive Thru Daq Bar in Town! I've never stepped foot in DBC Bar and Grill so I've never actually patronized the Bar or the Grill so these 5 stars are solely for the drive thru (until otherwise noted). This will be the review that puts me involuntarily into AA, but I've been going to DBC for my drive-thru daq for at least 3 years now. I wish more places had drive thrus, i.e. convenience stores, sushi restaurants...jump on board people. Drive-thrus are the devil's quickie because, more times than not, what your ordering off the drive-thru menu isn't what the doctor ordered. I always get a large White Russian with an extra shot. Calories be damned. The size always makes me go, "wo, I'll never finish that." 5 hours later, I'm thinking, "where'd it go?" Out of the daq shops I've visited, I've liked their White Russian best. I can't really explain why. Maybe it's not too sweet or not too boozy, but I like it. Extra points, once I saw that they had a discount for teachers on daiquiris during the week. 1.Genius marketing 2.Giving back to those who give so much. Other reasons this drive-thru daq is spectacular: 1. It's on the less busy part of Vets 2. A large White Russian is great for pool lounging, boating, tailgating, p'rading, porch chillin', picnicking, shall I go on? 3. Even if there's a line, it moves pretty quickly just remember to press the service button when you get to the window if no one is at the window or you'll feel like a dumb dumb just chillin' there. Tips: Now that I've told you of the joys of this drive-thru and I'll no doubt be the car behind you at some point...Always have your ID and money ready. This is a drive-thru, not park 'n chill. Make note of service button above. AND don't put your straw in your drink at the window...Open containers are illegal, and if you get pulled over right in front of the drive-thru, and I'm behind you...Well, Hell hath no fury like a thirsty Moe. My wife and I really like it here. The daiquiris are good a cheap, they have a lot of specials, the burgers are excellent and they have ping pong and darts. One stipulation though is that it is never crowded (sometimes it's really empty). I personally like that, but I'm a big lame wad. But I think it's a great place if you and a significant other just want to go for drinks or if you have a group that wants to go out but don't really want to mingle. While it isn't crowded, the people I have met there have all been incredibly nice. read more

Came here with my girlfriend July 3rd around 10:45. First off service was horrible! Just unbelievably horrible. I assume they was short staffed but even being short staffed there are some things you don't do. 1.) When my girlfriend hands the bartender her ID, we expected you to hand her ID back. Not slam it on the counter and slide it in her direction, while she have her hand out waiting for you to actually place it in her hand. 2.) We ordered three starters. They all came out 7 minutes within each other. Cool not a major issue there, but every time the bartender brought the starters to the table she would slide them onto the table, and run back behind the bar. We didn't get a "Here is your Southwest Eggrolls...enjoy!" Or a simple "Here your food." Just slide the food and ran away. Our mozzarella cheese sticks almost slide off of the table, and would have if my girlfriend didn't have a great reaction time and caught them. At this point my girlfriend was pissed and wanted to address the bartender, but I told her to chill. We were the only two black people in there at this point in time and I didn't want to cause a scene. We ate, close out our tab, and left and went to Moby's. Just had another burger on the Quest to find the best Burger in the Nola area So the wait wasn't bad just longer than expected for a burger & fries when the bar is near empty, I will say it was cooked to perfection! Bun was tostadas just right it looked great coming out and I'm sure that fat patty was hand made. French Fries here are the great steak fries also cooked just right, but on the skimpy side compared to others only skimpier fries were at N.O. Hamburger & PoBoy (I'll never go back there ). This place really surprised me because I'm used to the underwhelming Fat Tuesday daiquiri shops around Nola. I like the taste of DBC daiquiris better (love banana split), there are more selections, and slightly cheaper. Great place to watch football on Sunday too! I'm a packer fan and the staff was very welcoming every time I went by making sure at least one tv was on the packer game. Me and my coworkers came over after work. (We work one block away) It was a steady crowd mostly regulars. Only one person working the bar, which she did a great job juggling between the bar customers and drive thru. But she could have had some help. Especially on a FRIDAY EVENING. If you have a problem with smoke you make not like it too much. It was a bit smokey with everyone lighten it up at once. I had a Rum Punch and a small daiquiri.
