2 fried fish tacos, 1 barbacoa taco
    Jolene G.

It was a Friday night and it wasn't too crowded. Ordering was simple and there was lots of available seating. I ordered a paloma, two fish tacos, and one barbacoa taco. The tacos were just ok, but the paloma was really great.

The staff here were super friendly, and though there seemed to be a few crossed wires between the staff, everyone was nice and handled it well. The food was fresh and flavorful, I especially liked the hot hot salsa. The drinks (micheladas) were great, hot sauce not clamato! We sat at the bar to beat the heat, which was comfortable and the bartender was sweet. I'm happy to see this place has bounced back!

Everytime I come I sit at the bar because I love the view of the outside. The food here is amazing, the fish and veggie tacos are my favorite. My absolute favorite is the chips and Rojo salsa above all. I love Galaxie, it's my neighborhood go-to spot.

I had an annoying headache so I needed to eat something hearty in a walking distance. Galaxie was on the next block so just randomly picked a burrito and SO GLAD I DID! Their chicken burrito was $10 and worth every penny! The ingredient that stood out the most was the flavor of the chicken. It's was shredded and so good. My headache went away after this food! Will be back for a dine-in when I'm in the area soon!

Great tacos! Homemade tortillas. Reasonable price and great atmosphere. Quick service too.

Truly, a cultural Latin oasis featuring flavors directly from Oaxaca and Mexico City. The staff in front and back of the house work feverishly to get every detail of the experience perfect. Tommy's margarita is infused with orange bitters elevating this libation to fiesta level. Tried it frozen in a 16 oz pour. The corn tortillas are house made with the main ingredient coming from Oaxaca. These came out warm and emanated a fresh salivating aroma. This is a great discovery and I can't wait to come back and try the steak tortas.

Out strolling and came across a taco place. A great outdoor space and bartender was friendly. We got drinks to go since we just were out and about. Saw some friends leaving and they said they enjoyed their meal. We will be back so I can update once we eat. But the drinks were strong and even came with kids to walk out with. No spillage while walking!

Great shots straight grok Mexico City, the owners let us try them. Greats margs as well

New tacos on the menu, I came, I saw, I conquered! Love it here! Best happy hour in the city

Second visit in 2 months, and both experiences my order was "lost" leading to 40-50 minutes of wasted time. First time, I placed my order at the table using the QR code. They gave my order to the wrong table. Second time, I placed my order inside at the kiosk with staff thinking it would be safer but was wrong. Decided to give it a second chance bc they gave me a free shot to make up for it. The second time, it was 3pm on a quiet Saturday without that many people there. Maybe 10 more parties come after me, small groups or couples. Everyone else gets their order within 10-15 min. They gave me my drink, but then the waitress took my number away even though I'm still waiting for food and watching everyone else get theirs. Then 50 minutes goes by until I check in and follow up, the staff acts completely shocked when they walked me many times and even tried to give me someone else's order who probably arrived 20-30 min after I did. All tacos were cold and bland without any flavor. Tacos tasted store-bought. The frozen drink and outdoor seating are the only redeeming factors. Not coming back. So many other better places nearby with far better service.

I avoided this place like the plague for many years! Anytime I asked a friend that had eaten here what they though of the food the opinions were always the same "over priced", "pretentious hipster staff", "food is ok but not worth the price" so you can see why avoided it; that is until Pablo Reyes took over the kitchen. I've had Pablo's food a few times and I am happy to report that Galaxie is in good hands. The happy hour menu is tasty and light highly recommend the tostadas. Cocktails are solid, the frozen mango Margarita was excellent. My favorite thing on the menu was the torta took me right back to the street food stalls of Mexico city. The Birria tacos "puro fuego"! Great to have to have another chill place near my house to enjoy some tacos.

Rich, layered, and well-balanced with fresh elements that worked together on the plate. For entrées, we had a variety of cuts, including the Australian Wagyu, ribeye, butcher's cut, and lamb chops. The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself. Each steak was cooked precisely to temperature and full of flavor. The lamb chops paired with carrots and brussels were well executed and balanced. The sides complemented the meal well and did not feel like afterthoughts. You can also see their in-house dry aging setup, which speaks to the level of detail they put into their steak program. It shows in the final product. The drinks were solid across the board. The Old Fashioned and bourbon selections paired well with the meal and matched the food's quality. Service by Noelle was attentive and responsive throughout the night. Everything flowed well, and we were taken care of without feeling rushed or hovered over. This is not a casual dinner spot, but for a celebration or a night where you want a full experience, Doris Metropolitan absolutely delivers.

It started the moment we walked in. Glancing at the hostess, asking "OK to sit at the bar?", getting a nod, sitting down. An experience we've done in hundreds of restaurants. (We had reservations for a table but often prefer the bar.) The bartender -- whom we believe was named Mike -- started off his interaction with new customers as follows. "Did you check with the hostess?" I nodded in the affirmative, apparently that wasn't enough. "Check with the hostess", he ordered. I got up, went over the hostess stand, and confirmed, this time so "Mike" could see, that it was OK for us to sit at a half-empty bar. (In retrospect, we should have gotten up and walked out immediately, but it was late and even in the Quarter most places were closing for dinner.) You see, Mike clearly didn't want to be working that night. He was rude, inattentive, and condescending. And not just to us, to everyone seated at the bar. Slow making drinks, slow asking for orders, seething contempt for his customers. One time we asked to see a drink menu to decide on a new drink, he said, and this is a direct quote, "Do you want to see it or do you want to review it?" Mike's behavior was clearly well-known to the staff, because another staff member, who was off-shift and next to us at the bar, witnessed this behavior and arranged for a free dessert on the house (classy move on her part). She confided in us that Mike's pretty much always like that, but that he's a buddy of the general manager so seemingly un-fireable. Well, here's hoping someone reads this and thinks the better of Doris Metropolitan, or at least sitting at the bar. Unless you think service you'd get in a Paris tourist trap cafe is appropriate for a high-end steakhouse, you're better off spending your hard-earned money elsewhere.

This place advertises burlesque shows and "Shibari", however I did not see any of that during my visit. I do not dock points though because I'm certain there's a schedule that shows when these events occur. If you're interested in seeing one, best to make sure when they're taking place. There are security cameras all over the bar so this location can remain sex-positive and safe for guests. After ordering myself a drink, I chose to relax in their bright pink room with the large bean bag and teddy bear. This was my favorite spot for its light-hearted and playful atmosphere, although the room next to it was pretty exciting as well--with its black-and-white paintings of kinky exhibitionists. During my visit, I noticed that there was a collection of leftover glasses from previous guests. Since it was a slow Sunday night, I thought there would've been ample time for an employee to clean up that area beforehand. There was one barista that night, and while she was kind and made excellent cocktails, her voice was really low--making it difficult to hear her over the music. I'm glad the bar was empty, or else I may have not been able to hear her properly. Aside from those minor concerns with cleanliness and communication, I'd still say to give Fetiche Nola a shot if you're looking for a unique place to start off a long night of partying. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too!
