Oh Dairy King, how I love you. Let me count the ways!!! I came here the other day after a 4 year hiatus and it tasted just as good as it did before I left. They have a huge menu, but I came for the burger. I didn't even bother with the fries, but they're delicious, too. I just ordered a cheeseburger, a diet ski, and a small Brownie cake batter concrete. The cheeseburger was awesome, it was exactly what I needed, with all of my fixings on it. And the concrete was over the top, with huge chunks of brownie mixed in with a hint of brownie batter ice cream. I'm almost glad I didn't order fries. It would have been too much! It was definitely filling. One day I'll venture in and try something different. But man, their hamburgers are just so good!!!!! read more

When my boyfriend and I ordered here for some reason the employees wouldn't give us our damn fries. They said we couldn't get them at the speaker, and then the employee at the first window told us to go to the second window and ask for them, but then the employee at the second window wouldn't give us our fries. We were willing to pay anything we had to for the fries man. We were there for like 20 minutes waiting only on fries. I've come here before and I don't remember service being this bad. read more

If I could give this place no stars, I would. I'm a local. I used to love this place. Tonight has TOTALLY changed my perspective, however. Yes, probably my own fault for going through drive through 10 minutes before close but I would've NEVER expected a family friendly place to be so rude. First, our order was taken wrong. I'm not sure what was so hard when we were the only people in line. Second, we ordered fries and didn't get them. It wasn't on the receipt which is better than them charging us for them and not getting them. But, when we told the lady that we didn't get them, she had an attitude and said "oh, well we have to charge you for them, do you want some still?" And I mean, an attitude. Third, the windows were locked BEFORE they closed. Please, don't get mad at us for coming through while you guys are open and get upset because y'all locked the window. Forth, my s'mores concrete...was made with a waffle cone??? I KNOW for a fact they are made with graham crackers because I won't eat any other concrete. And, if they wanted to put waffle cone in it, at least make the pieces smaller!!! Absolutely ridiculous!! Now, again, it probably upset them that I came through so late. It was only 9:20. On a Thursday night. I worked until 12:30 on school nights and still didn't have an attitude like they did. We were paying customers and deserved to be treated way better. Ordered a medium sized and a large sized twist cone. Never know what size it will be depending on the child working. Today received a 1 1/2 inch tall twist cone that was supposed to be a medium, and a 2 1/2 inch tall twist cone that was supposed to be a large. God knows what the "baby" size cone would be??? Given to us in an eye dropper? When I asked if this was supposed to be a medium size cone, the girl, who looked like she was 12 years old, didn't say anything other than "thank you and have a nice day" and shut the drive through window on me. She totally ignored my question. RUDE! Avoid this place like the plague! Def not worth paying any money for. We had dinner at dairy King and it was so good! For a little hamburger and ice cream joint in Nowhereville, (Trenton) Illinois, Dairy King had some of the best food I've had in a long time. The taco salad I had for dinner was exceptionally good and for six dollars it was a steal. Clean and staffed with nice college-age kids, conveniently located and Chris who made my DELICIOUS taco salad along with Hannah the night manager made us feel very welcome. It's nice to go to a place where they care. Even the nacho chips in the salad were super crisp and fresh. The taco meat had nice flavor and a generous portion on a bed of super fresh cold crisp lettuce with shredded cheddar, sour cream and mild salsa. It was a DYNAMITE salad. I've paid twice as much for taco salads that were not half as delicious. Beloved husband had a burger and fries which were also super fresh and cooked to order. Even the fries were excellent. We topped it of with primo hot fudge sundaes that were better quality and flavor than Dairy Queen for half as much money. I'm going to be eating here a lot more often! read more

Excellent food! Yesterday I went thru the drive thru, pod received my drink, went to the next window to pickup my food....they asked me 3 times what my name was and 3 times offered me the wrong food. After the 3rd time I was just gonna take whatever they offered me next. This is after 4 cars behind me drove around because they received their order. I had the simplest order Swiss burger and fries. Then finally someone came to the window with the correct order. I will go back but my gosh can y'all get a bit more organized. read more

This is a good local burger-and-fast-food joint. Their menu, as others point out, is extensive and quite varied so our experience here when visiting relatives covers only a limited amount of the menu. That said, it is basically a slightly fancier fast-food place, locally run and it seem well-run, clean, and reliable. Burgers are good, salads decent, ice cream reasonably good. Nothing about the experience was in any way bad and we would eat here again but nothing about it really jumps out as special. A lot of people in this region seem to be hooked on Ski, and it certainly features here, but I can't say that really wowed us, but then we are not big soda-pop drinkers. read more

I used to work there as a teen in highschool a few years ago. Good food, but just a really greedy owner. It was nice to work there with friends from school, but the owner's business plan seems to be all wrong. To her, it's not about the customer, it's about the money and ways she can save money. Even with ice cream, her quotes are "make sure the cones arnt too big", but in reality she should be saying "make sure the customer gets enough ice cream." The sides are significantly small, compared to the prices you pay for them. Sometimes things don't get cooked enough, especially the chicken. A few days ago in fact, I got just 5 (that's right five!) small fried pickles for a whopping 3.85 with tax. I wish I took a picture. Don't even get me started on the mozzarella sticks. By the way, for good reference, if you look at the pictures in the menu, you will only get about half of what you see. Also, by the time you add up your main entree, a side, and a drink (or milkshake), you are most likely above 10 dollars. Steak 'n Shake is way cheaper. Another side note, the sanitation in the restaurant is horrible. Nobody uses gloves, and things like chicken wraps get touched all over. You get looked down upon if you call in sick, so most kids tough it out and end up spreading germs. There was also mold in one of the ice machines for over a year and I brought it up three times without a response from the upper management. Nobody uses hair nets, and hair ends up in food. Also a big fly problem. All in all the food is good, but things get messed up quite a bit. But that's okay, she's giving high-schoolers a chance for a first job I guess.
