First off the food was alright, standard DQ, but the workers I was pretty unhappy with. There was a single girl working by herself, clearly stressed, while there were four employees standing by the registers messing around - clapping really loud, laughing, etc. Im never against people having fun at their jobs, but never at the expense of someone else. The line was long, 20-30mins before closing, and this one girl is doing everything by herself with one of her coworkers telling her to go faster and ignore how one of the cones was dripping. I have ordered from this location a few times and never had an issue, but this last week was really pathetic. I ordered a hamburger with no cheese and requested (and paid for) lettuce and tomato and some condiments. I picked up the hamburger and pulled to the side before checking if it was done correctly (as a courtesy to other people in line). That's when I found that I had a hamburger with cheese and nothing else. So I walked back inside and gave them the hamburger back and asked for the hamburger the way I paid for it. This person took it from me without saying sorry or any kind of acknowledgement. A few minutes later, he gave me the box back with no acknowledgment. But he looked at me like he was expecting a thank you. So, I walked over to a counter and looked at the burger. It was missing tomatoes; so not a big deal except I paid EXTRA for tomatoes. So I walked back and handed it back to him. He eventually brought it back to me with the tomatoes and, again, looked at me like I was supposed to say thank you. What is wrong with these people? There was one person at the counter who wasn't involved at all, but had the manners and courtesy to say "sorry about that". I don't understand why it is so hard to get a hamburger without cheese. Get our food and halfway home reach in for my burger and there's only one. We checked the receipt and only one burger wow and was the most tasteless thing Fries were way under cooked and if I didn't know that they were chocolate shakes I don't think I would have guessed it. My favorite thing at Dairy Queen is the soft serve chocolate dipped cone. No matter what else they might advertise, I just can't bring myself to order anything else. I love the vanilla soft serve, size medium (or large if I'm feeling greedy) and then dipped in that lovely chocolate shell. Is it a pain in the butt to eat? Yes, yes it is, because the dang thing gets melty and you have to be careful or the entire thing can end up on your shirt. Don't you dare try to eat it while driving! But that taste!!! We stopped in and grabbed some food on the way back to Northern California after a day in Grants Pass... we get our order from the super nice girl at the window and drove away. We noticed we were missing a couple items and I had to go in to get them. I went inside and the girl noticed me right away, and apologized for the blunder. She was one of the kindest people I had come into contact with during my time in Grants Pass, and an asset to that location for sure. She should be the person all customers deal with. I don't know her name, but I'll be calling to find out because I would like to tell that store manager how impressed I was with her customer service skills. If you were the girl with blue fingernails working the drive-thru window on 8/7/21 around 5:00pm, you deserve a promotion. I hope to pass through and get food again there soon. I waited over 20 mins for my #5 order, at noon, 4 people were working. One car in the drive through and no one else in the dining area when I arrived. The soda machine was not working. People who came in after me got their orders before I did which made me ask about my order. I was told they thought it had gone out already and needed to make it again....I was informed they were training someone. A few more mins I got my food and left. My burger was cold! I have worked in fast food it's clear this place is slow and needs some help with customers service, food prep and employees morale seemed very low. This DQ is filthy. The ceiling vents are covered with fuzz, some of it is hanging off. The floor grime in the corner is working its way up the tile. More than half of the seats are torn. This is for the manager/owner. Not sure if they are understaffed or just have inexperienced employees cause it took almost an hour to get thru. I work in a restaurant so know how stressful it can be when it is busy and/or don't have good help. Every single employee needs to be working fast and hard for everything to run smooth. If the manager or owner reads this, I would recommend maybe hiring an extra hand or training employees on what their role is and how to be a little faster at it. I'm only leaving this review cause I see this a lot at that DQ and have friends that tell me that they deal with the same issue when they come here. I have had to skip eating here multiple times cause the line was too long and moving really slow. After all that said, I do appreciate the DQ employees for working in a time like this and I know it sucks working at a restaurant dealing with annoying, picky, impatient customers (I've had to keep myself from losing it on a few customers myself working in a restaurant) I just want your jobs to be easier and I think getting extra help or the right help will make working and eating at this DQ location more pleasant. Just had the worst service ever! Poorly managed and run. We were in line and the guy taking the orders had to run and get change. While waiting we noticed there was no staff in the kitchen. He comes back with change and then about 4 more staff exit from the back. We place our order and wait at end of counter. We notice an order sitting on the counter under heat lamp. One person in the kitchen now as two of them appeared to go on break and the line is growing. Still noticing the order sitting under the "heat" lamp. We them notice the guy taking the order leave and I here him say I need to go get some change and he comes back with ONE bill and hands it to a customer. After taking another order he finally goes to the counter to get the food that's been sitting there for a little over 5 minutes and guess what it's ours! Cold burger, fries, and chicken strips. This place is new and modern and a nice environment for fast food however our dining experience left much to be desired. They over charged us for our meal and our ice cream melted while they were trying to figure out the math. The service was very slow and the person taking our order admitting to not knowing the cash register. Then why was he taking orders when there was a line inside and outside? Also, the booths were very dirty. It looked like no one ever cleans the seats and the crack between the seat and the back of the booth. Lots of crumbs and food. Very dirty.
